I have vibe p1a42 3gb ram 32 gb rom version and not able to connect to 4g network. If searched manually i can see all 4g network signals around me but when I try to register on 4g network signal gets lost and selects 3g network after that. 3g/2g working fine but only 4g giving trouble. Is it about baseband on my p1 .

I've used my Defy in Korea and there was no problem.
Yesterday I enrolled T-mobile prepaid plan(Monthly 4G $50 and changed my SIM card.
Talking and Texting is working but 3g connection isn't working.
On the status bar, there is "G" sign which means GPRS connection (I found it in google)
When I used Defy in Korea, there was "3G" sign or "H" sign which means 3G/HSDPA(much faster than GPRS)
I think my Defy is only taking GSM(GPRS) frequency.....
I setup "*#*#4636#*#* -> Phone information -> WCDMA preferred or WCDMA only" but still not working.
Now I'm about to try to find a US ROM and flash it... Will it be helpful??
I don't want to lose all the apps & settings........ but if it fix my problem, I'll try it.
What do you think about my idea??
You don't need to flash a new ROM
Your problem is quite common because your ROM (Koren) uses a different baseband. The baseband for US 3G networks is different. Just download the Defy Baseband switcher app from here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1052745 and apply a Baseband for US. This should fix your problem. So, you won't have to loose your installed apps and settings.
Dear Fellows I'm in strange problem im using reliance network sim(doesnt matter what sim it is) in my phone and using 3G but it is working as 2G only i have checked everything in my phone and also frm service provider end everything is ok. When I'm using the same sim in the same location with the same settings in any other 3G capable phone 3G is working. Im not getting what is wrong if anybody knows how to deal with this prob kindly do the needfull!

I have the same problem! You could solve it?
1. This may be obvious but you do have the sim in sim one?
2. Go to settings / more / cellular networks ends make sure you don't have 2g only selected.

Just update to 2.19.40.22 fw update..it has 3G stability and 3G works fine after this update..if you have older version this problem will persist ..
Same problem in my ASUS ZenFone 2 laser 550kl model finally said that customer care service executors better to check in authorised asus customer service centres the problem may occured due software issue...
Still facing this issue on Airtel Network in India at many locations. The network switches between 3G, H and H+ and hardly pages open up. Also, there are call drops when network switches from 4G to 3G/2G and 3G to 2G.

Currently I'm not being able to get the 4G network and in mu country they're using the 1800 frequency (LTE 1800).
Is there a way to change it in the settings so as I can get hold of the 4G?

You should get 4g on the 1800 frequency. You can change between 3g and 4g in mobile data settings. However even if your network has 4g it will display 3g if you are not in a strong 4g signal area. It is the same here in the UK, 4g is fine where I live but I go over a bridge 5 minutes walk away and I can only get 3g! On some networks you need a new sim card for 4g to work as I did. Also do you have the correct APN settings for your network?
Yes I have the correct APN; otherwise if it's wrong I won't even get any data connection. Yes, I might be in a region where it's weak or unavailable but when I'm in a region fully covered by 4G, just outside the HQ of Orange, I still don't get it.
Try using mtk engineering mode app from play store(by go! or themonster) to force LTE - it's under telephony/network selecting.

When I want to have 4G or 3G, I have to force the phone to use it manually with the settings, but after a few minutes, my phone returns to "E" or "H", even if I correctly pick up the 4G network or 3G network. .

Hi,
After the latest update 80.30. 96.80 dual 4g has stopped working.
Jio network is 4g only network and if I change internet sim, jio is not getting signal anymore.
Can someone help regarding this?
