I'm also Sprint. Maybe you're jumping straight to Nougat. I am in San Antonio area and always get slow updates. Indicated 09/01 security and bug fixes. I miss my Nexus 5....

Is it sprint or LG? Seems like LG is kind of strict for rooting their phones. Sucks..

Not sure...sucks that the european version got an official unlock

Anyone got words if we stop trying for root? I might as well sell it now

I can't see where the OTA file is, so that I can flash it with LG Flash Tools. I'm also kind of worried because some people have been having problems. It's not nearly as easy as flashing a Samsung phone, for sure.
Does anyone know if ATT would let me borrow a sim to try to update it? I only have a T-Mobile sim card....:/

Porting would be a ton of work and likely lots of bugs. By the time it's usable official 4.4.2 would likely be out.
March 3, that's the date someone on Sprint Community forums posted. But don't know myself for sure. Last time they said that it actually happened so it maybe real.

Hopefully that's true, because it gives time for devs to find a root/boot unlock method by the time it drops. That way can just OTA and be good to go...hopefully.

ZVA is still 4.2.2. He's talking about 4.4.2. But what you say is true, OTA update is available over wifi!

Sorry to say you should have gotten the Verizon one if you wanted gsm compatability in US as well, I hear there are problems using the LS980 on other US carriers. Besides Verizon version also has wireless charging, only downside is small buttons and that hideous Verizon emblem lol.
No i prefer this one. Im using it on tmo and the problems are no big deal. I got it for 140 and i can still use it with sprint if i want...

Whenever Sprint gets it... it will be at least 4.2 years before I do bc I have verizon and verizon won't release kitkat until google agrees to change the name from KitKat to Android AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint Can Suck It. And my update has to make my device apply no less than 47 more verizon logos to itself.

Anyone else not received the update?

Every day I check it says up to date. I called AT&T twice but they claim they can't initiate the push. Tried the advance date trick, too. I even did a complete factory reset. Just curious if this is normal. Thanks.

Yes, in USA, connected to AT&T 4glte. Yes, tried every which way (even through Kies). In Chicago there isn't a Samsung Experience in the city shockingly. I can get out to one but it's a haul.
Just chatted with AT&T again and they believe they just haven't pushed it out to my IMEI yet. I don't buy it, but that's their story. They said it might even take months before it pushes to my device. They can't manually push it, apparently.
If anyone has other suggestions, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Kies showed I was on the most recent firmware, oddly.
However, I was wrong about BestBuy - despite the BB website showing no BBs in Chicago have The Samsung Experience, I think they all do. I walked 20 steps from my work into one and they flashed Lollipop in two min. Ha!
So, if you don't have it yet, go to BestBuy!
Don't be in too much of a rush to get it. It's been nothing but a headache for more than a couple people.

i had to flash oem kitkat to my att note 4, which right after the flash immediately got lollipop.
if you do got to the Samsung kiosk have them re-flash kitkat. then the download for lollipop will update after setup.

5.1.1 update?

Can anyone confirm this?
http://www.vcpost.com/articles/8973...-lollipop-verizon-s-samsung-galaxy-note-4.htm
"When verifying the update, the software version should now be LRX21T.G900VVRU2BOG5. The update is only 904 MB."
This is the update to Verizon Galaxy S5 for Lollipop 5.0 from July 21, 2015.
One of those copy cat articles. Multiple people post the same thing to try to pass themselves off as experts. Half the time the article barely makes sense. Google Verizon note 4 5.1.1 and you'll see once you go through a few links.
Sent from my SM-N910V using XDA Free mobile app
The writer is an idiot. He's writing the GS5 update as the Note 4 update. That update was for the Verizon GS5. There is no 5.1.1 update for the note 4 yet.

Verizon LG G8 OTA

I bought a Verizon G8 on ebay and I'm using it on Xfinity mobile which is Verizon MVNO. I'm trying to update to the latest security update, but when I click on update, the system is not detecting new firmware. In the past, I remember you don't have to have Verizon service to get the updates. Is there anyway to update the security patch manually?

So it turns out all you have to do is put a Verizon sim in, and OTA took right away. It won't update with a Xfinity Mobile sim card in. Wish we get the Android 10 update soon. Sprint already got it.
