USB Type-C Magnetic Charger? - LG V20 Accessories

Never used one before...anyone have any experience with the magnetic chargers such as Znaps? Curious if they're even worth it for protecting the seemingly always delicate phone charging ports. Let me know y'alls opinions and if you have any recommended ones or not, please. Thanks.

I have a couple that are micro USB and they worked great on my V10.
I wished they had USB-C for the V20. Had to buy several Anker USB-C to Micro USB adapters...kind of defeats the purpose though.

Here is a photo taken with the LG V20 of the Wisken Magnetic Cable with the Anker adapter

The adapter doesn't look like it lays flat like the picture implies...you have links to buy them?
Does this adapter support data transfer and fast charging?
EDIT: nevermind...I get it...didnt realize it was the same person posting the pic, lol.

To answer your question...
I know that fast charging and data transfer works with this combo.
I'm not sure at what speed.

Yeah, I saw the Amazon one...pointless, IMO...
Also saw the Indiegogo one from last year but can't seem to find a way to buy them anywhere...
Didnt see the reddit post but glad to see its been a topic of interest for a while.
Looks like I wait until someone comes up with a better one of some sort...
The intent of this post was more/less looking for people's experience and opinion with them to see if they're even worth it...thanks!

Found 'em!
I went into my FireFox history because I found them a couple of weeks ago.
ASAP x-connect Indiegogo, USB-C cable(and micro USB and Lightning)
ASAP Connect Indiegogo, V1(micro USB and Lightning)

I hd a few of those shown in post 3, gave them away, but somehow I found 4 extra magnetic tips, also have this one,

I was originally backer on the Znaps (which was truly the first one I saw doing it)
Then they scrapped the micro usb and released only lightning adapter and then scrapped USB C so I backed out.
https://znaps.net/

Problem with znaps, they are too expensive, for the price of snaps you can get the 5 of the chinese one's, even the znaps is made in china.
but if you do use a case, these won't work out, they wont fit, you have to remove the case to charge.

the charging is like the palm pre you just put the device on a flat peice of plastic vola its charging
Is there any sample pic of it?

I'd heard that the stand was around £35. For a moment I thought Clove had got one, but that turns out to be the normal desk stand (I think, see http://www.clove.co.uk/accessories/samsung/samsung-galaxy-s3/cables-chargers)
Like the idea of the wireless charger because I've seen how easy it is, based on the three HP Touchpad's we've got in the house.

The Touchpad folks in the house haven't noticed any difference in charge time (apart from the initial one) between wired and wireless charging.
That said, the difference in the initial charge was quite long, (one TP was wired charged, the other two wirelessly), in the order of an hour if memory serves me. And if the Samsung charger is anything like the HP TP one then you don't have to be too precise with your device positioning.
Just wish that the Samsung S3's charger also allowed a headphone out - kind of like the old (?) Apple iPhone/iPod dock (the one with the remote). It'd be nice to give that Wolfson DAC a spin by using S3 as an iPod replacement.
The important questions are, is it compatible with my current PowerMat that I own. Also, I have read about PowerMat's new NFC charge card that should be out sometime this year. You swap out the NFC card with their NFC+Charge card and there is no need to switch phone backs.
September? WTH!

Yes what is the hold up?
What I've heard is that basically it was a last minute addition and was never going to be ready on time - it wasn't delayed, it was always expected to come this late after launch. Might get the LG Optimus LTE2 instead, as that also comes with wireless charging apparently.

OEM USB Cable/Charger

So on my N5 the OEM USB cable/charger seems to work WAAAAY faster than anything else. Anyone know where I can find another?
found 2 for 12$ at aliexpress... reviews seem good, seller says it's genuine....
says nexus 4 but i'm pretty sure it's the same current: 5v 1.2a
Can you please share links?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
$25 is a pretty good price for that
Just search "genuine lg charger nexus 4"
Seller's name is online store 528190.
This is the charger that came with nexus 4.
I do not know if it's the exact model as the 5 since i'll be getting my phone in a couple of days,
But it's genuine lg 5v 1.2A so should work ok
---------- Post added at 03:28 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:26 AM ----------
That's 6$ each, only sale in pairs.
No micro usb cable though...

Unless I'm reading my charger wrong it's 1.8 A and not 1.2
Theres a thread here where i ordered 2 Blackberry chargers. They came out to a total of 5 dollars with shipping through ebay and it was 3 day shipping. They output 1.8Amps and the actual charge I get is around 1400Mah and after 80% it starts going from 1000Mah and down. I ordered 4 more cause 2.50 for each one of these is awesome!! The build quality is great and they're about 8 feet long too.

If you grab a charger from the Galaxy S4, it would charge even faster.

Another reason for wanting another OEM charger is that if you have the Google "bumper" case the cutout for the charger is soooooooo very small that only the OEM cable will fit, as far as i can find. I am not pleased about that. I do not get why LG or Google are not selling the cable and/or charger.

I just copied and pasted the thread but.. The charger is amazing. I snagged a few on Amazon for $5 each. The cord is made of a heavy-duty material and is probably about 6 ft long. And also, it charges the phone fast af. Read the comments in that thread.

BlackBerry PlayBook 1.8A chargers are indeed the best. I even have a couple 2.0A version units of that charger that are ever so slightly faster.

USB C magnetic adapter

Did anyone found available now adapters like this:
http://www.znaps.net/#pre-order
I can't wait to January for shipping
+1 , was looking for similar products.
Wow, that is a great idea.
Wow. I wonder if it will be successful? It looks like a really good idea
--
Not so cool as charging speeds will be significantly low, as well as that extra 2-3 mm at the bottom. USB-C cable with magnetic frame instead of aluminum would be good, but this is like adding weight to your phone, size, everything.
the price tags a bit expensive tho.
but its nice i think so we just need 1 cable that can support many devices
interesting
I bought in a while back. It's worth a try.

I also backed them when they were on kickstarter. Unfortunately they are have some issues with the magnets, will only start shipping in around 6 weeks. Will let you know as soon as I get the first batch!
So is they shipped this usb c adapter? At Now there isn't any usb c set
Edit :
I've Got an answer from customer service. "We expect USB-C will come in mid 2016.*"
Here's something similar but USB C.

Nice idea. It would be pretty cool if they can make an adapter that somehow fits this
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01M11UT3V...m=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB&pf_rd_r=1Q4P0V17WJYMSRC7QEZY
The adapter on one end connects to the phone, in the middle it connects to the receiver and at the other end it connects to the magnet which then further connects to the opposing magnetic snap on/off cable.
It would definitely add slow but convenient wireless charging to the OnePlus 2 along with adding magnetic adapter.
I think it would be a pretty cool idea

I thought 150 cm cable has 5v/2a or 5v/3a dash charging, slower than 100 cm dash cable.
there is only dash charging, no slower/faster dash charging

The car charger is actually slower, as it outputs 3.5 amps, rather than 4. That being said, I have the 150cm cable, it's wonderful, and charges things at the same rate as the regular cable if the same power supply is used.
Quality wise, it is soft and pliable, more so that the original cable, and reminds me of the OnePlus One cable... I just wish it were 'naked' on the USB A side.

Did you ever see 4.000 on shorter cable.. I didn't.. it's the same .. about the same around 3.50p amps.. at lest on 3t.. measuring with Ampere.
