v410 OTA - G Pad 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have the files from the fota folder after downloading the lollipop update. Does anybody know how I would go about installing them, such as turning into a zip or something?

[Q] how to create firmware.zip out of OTA

Hello fellow earthling!
Acc. to my carrier, the JB OTA is gonna hit me soon. (Finally!) So I've been thinking about going back to stock in order to download and save the OTA file. (Which is going to be saved in /cache, right?)
=> My question:
From this update-file, how do I create a firmware.zip-file, like the one aviable on the CID thread?
Greetings from Switzerland,
BigFatTony
The OTA zip file contains the firmware.zip file so you just need to extract it.
people claim it gets downloaded in the Download(s) folder on your SD, or on the root of the SD (and is deleted if you apply it)
the OTA file should look something like this : OTA_ENDEAVOR_U....blablablbalblablablablab.zip
to extract the firmware just copy the ota file and open it on your pc and you will find firmware.zip if its included.
//SOLVED//
The OTA zip file contains the firmware.zip file so you just need to extract it.

Thank you very much! It's so simple, it's boring.
Thanks to you, too, Vcek. I'm sure I'll find it.
Have a nice evening.

Is it possable to make a .tot & .dll into a TWRP flashable .zip??

Ok, So to start I have a .tot & .dll copy of the original stock firmware of my D852, this firmware is only flashable using LG Flash Tools.
I would like to take this firmware and extract the contents and replace the modem THEN I want to make this rom into a TWRP flashable .zip format.
So my 2 questions are:
1. How can I make my .tot & .dll version of my stock rom into a TWRP flashable .zip format??
2. After extracting the firmware and replacing the modem do I need to put the rom back into a .tot & .dll file format before I turn it into a TWRP flashable .zip?? or do I zip or convert the already extracted files before I make them into a .zip??
EDIT: I got it all figured out, I don't need any help anymore.

Captured ZIP from HTC Sync Manager (3.37.605.29) (hboot, signed)

I've updated my phone with HTC Sync Manager. This software downloaded a zip file that I captured:
HSM_0PJAIMG_HIMA_WL_M60[email protected]60105_CNV_1.26_002_release_502050_signed_1n3v5uvkmsetcde9r.zip
Inside this zip file I can find:
0PJAIMG_HIMA_WL_M60[email protected]60105_CNV_1.26_002_release_502050_hboot_1.zip (15.2 MB)
0PJAIMG_HIMA_WL_M60[email protected]60105_CNV_1.26_002_release_502050_signed_1.zip (2.30 GB)
and a META-INF folder that I think contains a OTA certificate.
If someone needed the whole zip file, I could upload it. I'm attaching the hboot file (I'm not sure if this file is useful).
what is that file? nougat update?

I have twrp and stock rom on my Fire TV Stick 2 (tank). I get notification that there is an update, but whenever I try press install Unothing happens. I also tried to manually update, but it says "update failed".
Is there any way to install the latest OTA?

That is easy. Download the ota file with the settings (check update), then reboot to TWRP.
The update *.bin file is probably stored at:
Code:
/sdcard/Android/data/com.amazon.device.software.ota/files/
Check the size of the file (don't flash partial updates), a full update bin should take about 500mb. You have to rename the file from bin to zip, then flash it with twrp.

Thanks a lot.
It worked
For some reason, I can't find the new OTA in this folder anymore:
/sdcard/Android/data/com.amazon.device.software.ota/files/
Does anyone know, where the new path is?
In case the download is complete, it should be in that folder...
However, the .bin file could be also placed in /cache
Don't forget to rename the file to .zip, or twrp install won't show/find the file.
