Is there a way to upgrade to mm bootloader on developer edition 910v without converting to retail and unlocking?

Did you ever get answer to this. I have Dev Ed on ANI1 bootloader just want to upgrade bootloader to MM without converting to retail and unlocking?

I'm pretty sure on one of the unlock threads, it says to contact @ryanbg to have a custom unlock binary made. I think you have to send your CID and aboot to him, and then he can make you a custom unlock binary.

[Q] Developer Edition vs Unlocked

This is going to be a fairly stupid question, and it seems that similar questions have been asked but never really fully answered.
I will be purchasing the new HTC One M8 and I cant understand the difference between the unlocked and developer edition. I am aware that the developer edition has an unlocked bootloader, but couldn't I just get the unlocked variant bootloader unlocked from HTCDev.com?
If that is the only difference, it seems they wouldn't make two different variants and just direct developers and those who wish to modify their phones software to HTCdev.com. I feel like there has to be some other difference.
Any info would be great.
Thanks

With the m7 the only difference was the bootloader was unlocked from factory and for us type people that like to mess with there phones but unlock variant of the phone is for the people that are happy with the software and have a secure phone with bootloader locked. Now that being said about the m7, I'm assuming the m8 is going to be the same.
Also yes you can unlock the bootloader with the unlock phone. There might be a difference in the warranty also....

Developer comes bootloader unlocked with a warranty. Unlocked comes locked and, if you choose to unlock the bootloader, you lose the warranty.

This is along the lines of what I was figuring, but even when you go to HTCdev.com It says if you unlock it that you MAY lose your warranty if any damage was deemed related to you doing so. So if I mess up the phone on the dev edition it doesnt matter?

On the dev edition you won't need to go to htcdev. You go through htcdev to unlock the bootloader, on the dev edition the bootloader is already unlocked.
On the unlocked version, they mean a different thing by unlocked. I'm guessing it is network unlocked (sim-free), whereas the developer is bootloader unlocked, two separate things.

I understand the difference of what is being unlocked. Just seems silly to me to make the developer edition if you can just take the carrier unlocked version of the phone and unlock the bootloader anyway.

You know what, you got me, htc sell both the unlocked and developer version for $700 on their website. If its a case of warranty not being voided for the developer edition, it would make no sense for anyone to buy the unlocked at the same price. And seeing as htcdev provides a simple enough guide for any noob to unlock his bootloader I don't see why a skilled "developer" would need to buy a developer version.
I'm curious now.

Confirmed with HTC today that this is pretty much it. The rep said that if you get the Carrier Unlocked edition and unlock the bootloader from HTCdev.com that you may not be eligible for your warranty if it was deemed that damage was related to you doing so. Where as the developer edition keeps the warranty as it comes bootloader unlocked from the factory.

Debrand LG G4

How can I debrand my LG G4?
where can I find the original no brand firmware for uk?
and how to flash it?
if someone can help, I really aprreciate.
Can I use something like this on a T-Mobile version?
You'll have to wait for the bootloader to get unlocked. Each phone will only allow your carrier-specific firmware to be flashed with the locked bootloader, which is why only the international version has root for now.

I have the H815 version, so I think it is possible to unlock the bootloader, right?
But then where can I find the firmwares? for Samsung is very easy because there is the samfirmware, but for LG?
Where to find a guide to do it?
thanks
Nobody can help?
Carrier versions can not be unlocked at the moment
I'm so sad to have taken this phone and not the s6......
marko68, the G4 only came out last week in the UK unfortunately you'll have to wait a few weeks because features you request start to appear. The S6 has been out quite a bit longer.
Yep a bit of patience is all that's required

Will the TWRP version HERE: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-7/development/recovery-official-twrp-galaxy-note-7-t3458413 (Where I can't post) work on the North American VZW Note 7? Model # SMN-930V?

The guy says you can't flash it. This was over a month ago, as well I cannot respond IN that thread for some odd reason.
Our bootloaders are locked is why we can't flash it.

Short answer, no. OEM unlocking is just a step that needs to be taken in the process of unlocking a bootloader.
Don't try flashing TWRP after ticking OEM unlock. It won't work.

There's no difference with root. You just can't unlock bootloader after the update. There are tons of threads about root already

He can't use those root files with an unlocked bootloader
I wish VZW users would preface their thread titles with [VERIZON] so the rest of us could save a few clicks and just ignore them.
@revolt1,
Don't hold your breath waiting. I doubt there'll be a method to unlock VZW Pixel XL bootloader running 7.1.1.
7.1.1 locked up the bootloader again. Need to wait for an exploit. I'm finding .ore and more these days that stock Android is my fav without root now that I have a non-root AdBlock method.

Cuz you have to be unlocked to root. Unlocking is step one before you can do anything.
An update locked the bootloader? Thanks for this, I'll not be going to vz to get this phone. Now I'm wondering if the update that the Google bought phone gets when a vz sim is inserted (what I've read) will do the same?

If you find one in stock it shouldn't have the update since it just came out last week. You can't remove sim and skip setup and don't connect to wifi. Then you can unlock before taking the OTA. That's what I did on my replacement pixel from best buy
Just to clarify, if you are already unlocked before taking the 7.1.1 update you will still be unlocked after update.

Is the T-Mobile OP7T (HD1907) screwed because of the locked bootloader?

I've read here that the bootloader is locked on T-Mobile's OP7T, are we screwed when it comes to rooting? Doing a search for HD1907, I hardly see anything related to rooting it successfully. Has anyone done it yet? Is there hope for us HD1907s?
Thanks!

You can request a sim unlock from mobbdeep and you'd be able to unlock your bootloader once you sim unlock your phone. Then you can proceed to convert to international if you please.
Edit: it's a week wait period just like previous tmo OnePlus devices we should know this.

MobbDeep has unlocked my SIM, but how does that affect the bootloader? Is there a bootloader unlock app that I can get from T-Mo?

Bootloader unlock is in the developer options section of settings. you have to get the unlock token and submit it to OnePlus for your unlock bin. Once the unlock bin is flashed you're bootloader unlocked.

Know of any disadvantages to switching to the US Global version of the OS? Seems like those are being updated faster than the T-Mobile versions.
I'm planning on writing up some documentation about the conversion process once I get my unlock code (should be here tomorrow which means it might take me a few days to mess with it and get it all nice and neat)

You don't. It takes exactly 7 days from when you submitted it. You can check back on the site you submitted the request on and you'll see when it's done, and you can then download it from there. Pestering OnePlus or T-Mobile does nothing, you won't get it any faster.
