Case and Spring Clip Holster Solution - OnePlus 3T Accessories

I have been carrying a Samsung phone for years. I always loved the convenience of the Seidio Cases and Holsters for my belt. Plus I absolutely despise pocket carry and often find myself with far too many other things in my pocket that could damage a phone anyway. Because of this I was looking for a way to use a Seidio Holster for my OP3T but unfortunately they don't make a case or Holster for it. Doing some research online, I decided to give the OnePlus 2 Seidio Holster a try. Now to find a case that would match up and fit inside the Holster. Thus far the Otterbox for OP3 works pretty well and I will be trying out other cases to see if there are any other alternatives so that I can share it with you all. I hope this helps someone out there that might be looking for a similar solution.

I have been wondering this myself since I have been eyeballing the oneplus 3T . I want a rugged case (Otterbox) and a holster solution for all my phones . I dont put my phones in my pockets and never will .

Try cases from SUPCASE, they are with holsters

This is the holster I use with the Orzly Grip pro case with my OP3T. Works great.
I would love a Seidio case so people if you can message them and keep asking for it they might make one.

How is the fitment with the Otterbox? Is it a tight fit or somewhat loose? I like yourselves have always used a Seidio case with belt clip and I despise having to carry my phone in my pocket. I have written to them several times requesting they make a case/belt combo for our phones but I have yet to receive a response.

It's a good snug fit but not so tight that it's hard to get in and out. The rubber on the ends of the case do get caught up on the holster sometimes for me but to no I'll effect.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to have to pull the trigger and order me one because I'm tired of having my OnePlus3T in my pocket. Hopefully, Seidio will build a proper case+holster for our phones. For now this will do.

I'm in the same boat with the OnePlus 5. Oh Seidio........................................

Otterbox vs CaseMate vs Incipio for the GN

Best? Worst?
Pros and Cons?
Obivously it's a little early to have a ton of info on each (at least in the states) but I'm sure this thread will prove useful as more people at theirs.
I didnt make it out of the parking lot with the Otterbox. It's a great case and I feel like I could throw my phone off a building without any damage. However I didnt notice how much girth it added to the phone until I tried to put it in my pocket.. things a tank. Easily doubles the width, so keep that in mind if its important to you.
I have the casemate toughcase. Originally i liked it but now not so much. The silicone was a dust and pocket lint magnet and it started peeling up corners of my zagg screen protector. It just didnt fit right but i have the gsm gnex which is a tad thinner. I tested the otterbox in a vzw store tonight and i hated it. Everytime i touched the screen the protector made little tap like noises because it wasnt touching the screen. Again....i think its because the otterbox is made for the LTE nexus. I have the diztronic tpu case in matte black and also the smoke color and ive been happy with them so far. They also do not add any bulk. I have to wonder why anyone would want to get a thin and light phone only to add a bulky looking case?
I have the casemate tough case, I don't mind the dust trapping cuz it really doesn't do anything. I have the gsm version, the top and bottom part is a tinyyyy bit loose, but also doesn't bug me. The thickness is perfect and i think its as much protection as i need so... I hope that helps :0
I have case mate tough and pop case, and I highly recommend the pop case, the design, protection, feel, it sums up as the best case for me...I use otterbox for most of my devices, and the case mate pop case does not lack any of the protection compare to otterbox

I just ordered a case mate pop. How does it seal around the front face (glass)?
Also, does the part that seals to the glass attack lint?
What about a screen protector? What is best one that doesn't make the screen feel or look weird?

I've had the Pop for other phones. It's a nice case, my only complaint about that series is the side rubbers. They tend to wear off as time goes on and starts becoming loose.
Provides excellent protection though.
I don't have the phone yet (ordered online) but I bought the incipio case for it earlier today. Anyone else tried it on their LTE GNex? Thoughts? I didn't see a Otterbox case for it at the Verizon store.
I got the incipio case with mine when I picked it up earlier. So far, I like it, its real tight fitting and doesn't add a whole lot of thickness. Only downside is the silicone around the edges is a lint magnet while in the pocket

I have the incipio case and really like it. Fits snugly around my GSM Nexus and isn't too big. I had the Case Mate tough case with my S II and just found it too big

Sedio has some really nice cases. I have had one for nearly 2 years now for my original Droid. It has protected it well although it did crack eventually after many drops.
I also bought the sedio car mount/charger and really liked that as well.
Sedio is a bit pricey... 2 years ago the car charger mount was at least $50 and the case was $20-$25. It was a very thin form fitting case that is plastic but has a almost rubbery feel to it. Very tough and it barley added any thickness to my Droid which was amazing. Guess that is why it was so pricey.
I got the shell holster charger combo when I ordered my GN yesterday... waiting for it to arrive... as patiently as I can!
I tried the Otterbox in the VZW store on my GNex -- certainly looked industrial and protective, but it made the phone huge. The Incipio seemed like a good compromise - the rubber inner part goes on easily, and the plastic snap-over layer keeps it nice and snug to the phone. The egde protrudes just enough so that you can place the phone glass down without the glass touching a table - perfect.
No screen protector yet - and I may not. It may not be Gorilla Glass, but it's been shown to be "fortified", and I won't put it in my pocket with keys or change... The Incipio seems like a good choice so far...
Anyone have a link for the black Case-Mate Pop case? I can only seem to find the white one.
EDIT: Nevermind, I'm an idiot

The Defender (The more expensive, bigger one) or the Commuter?
So I've already ordered the Case Mate Tough, because I didn't know there was a Pop for the Nexus yet.
They don't show it listed on the actual Case Mate site Nexus page.
What are the differences between the Tough and the Pop?

I have the Otterbox Commuter for my Razr and it looks like the silicone shares the same properties of picking up everything in my pocket. lol
I really like the Case-Mate Tough Case which I had with my HTC Sensation and it didn't pick up as much lint as the Otterbox commute or now possibly the Incipio.
I can't wait for my phone to arrive so I can finally try for myself.
Thanks!

Commuter or Defender?
the question is which of these fit the GSM Version well.
Diztronic only $10 from eBay. Perfect fit and no bulkiness added.

Quality Pouch w/ Belt Clip or Holster Case Compatible?

Hey all. Does anyone know of a good quality case that clips onto a belt? Preferably one that will last through some physical activity (those fake leather pouches will fall apart). Also huge plus if anyone has experience with a recommended case and knows that it can survive some random bursts of jogging or running (I've had some cheap magnetic ones that would open up and make my phone fly).
Secondly, anyone know of a belt case/pouch that is big enough to fit a protective HTC One case? For example, an Otterbox Commuter? This particular criterion has made my search much harder, but finding one would save me a headache.
I'd love some suggestions. Thanks!

That's actually pretty interesting, although not sure if that will function in more everyday situations as well.
Also, does anyone know if SEIDO's ACTIVE Holster is compatible with the Otterbox Commuter? I've read that for a few other phone models, for some reason SEIDO's Holster fits the Commuter perfectly, but wasn't able to confirm if it's the same for the HTC One.
I was also suggested fortte and bugatti-mobilecases
Would definitely love more suggestions!

Nope. Commuter and active holster don't fit. Commuter is a little thicker. I love the commuter, but need a clip from time to time. The active case is very nice though.
I am looking for one as well. I use the commuter. I always had a ppouch for my OG EVO4G w/commuter and had no issues. 2 months of the ONE with the commuter and I now have a scratch in the screen. I really need a good quality pouch.
I ordered the Otterbox Defender for my One today, it supposedly comes with a belt clip. It's about $38 on Amazon.

Galaxy S3 Lifeproof

So, I have my lifeproof nuud case, and it works great. I'm happy with it overall, except for one tiny detail. For some reason Lifeproof doesn't make a belt clip, and when I contacted them they said they have no plans for any accessories for the Galaxy phones. Does anybody have any suggestions on holsters or alternatives? It's insanely frustrating.
Try one of the seidio holsters. Either the convert or the seidio obex holster. Don't know what size is the lifeproof

I personally use the the holster for the Seidio Obex, which is just about the right size. The Obex is only a little taller and thicker than the lifeproof, so you only need to pad out the bottom a little.
I also tried the convert plus holster, but it's too narrow to fit the lifeproof.
Been trying to find a good material for the padding though. Foam tape and such just tend to get crushed down after a couple weeks.

Good to hear! How secure is the fit, out of curiosity? Heading into the field for work soon, I like the fact that my lifeproof is waterproof, but have been debating using my Defender just because of how secure it is.

Without the padding is not very secure, but with it is very good.
Personally, I wouldn't call the defender holster very secure. It holds great under normal conditions, but with my incredible s, I broke 3 of those holsters thanks to the dumb flexing-hard-plastic clip design holding the phone in place and the s3 version appears to have the same design unless they've switched to a different plastic formula.

BTW the obex holster has Locking Mechanism, so it wont go anywhere! Ive have the obex clip on the fake lifeproof case of my gs3 and the fit is great. Once locked its not going anywhere. But i do know that the real LP and fake LP are different dimensions thats why i said i wasnt sure.
Good to hear, I'm guessing foam tape is the current best thing for padding, anybody have other suggestions?

The foam tape I tried needed to be replaced every 2 weeks or so.
My latest attempt is filling in the bottom of the holster with some polyurethane construction adhesive I had laying around.
Didn't quite get the thickness right on the first try. I'll add in some more when I have a couple days when I don't need it, as the stuff takes semi-forever to fully set.

Seidio Cases Now Available for Nexus 5

I began using a Seidio Surface case on my GS3 and I LOVED it. Phone has survived many drops from lap while getting out of my somewhat raised truck, and quite a few from pants pocket level while standing. Never had a cracked screen, even on corner drops. Love the soft grip, thinness of the case, and that it doesn't grab onto pocket fabric when you're trying to get it out.
Ordered my Nexus 5 on day one. Got a cheapo case just out of paranoia because Seidio didn't have the Surface out yet. Hate it. HATE IT. Been checking the Seidio site everyday for the release. Checked last night when I got home from work....and saw that they are now shipping.
Black is the only color currently shipping. I've got my order in. Obviously I haven't received it yet.
There's a 15% off coupon code you can use through 12/06/2013: SURFACE15
I figured there are others out there that want this case, so I thought I'd post.

All I know about the differences is from the descriptions on their website. I like using the thinnest cases possible...hate bulk. So for me, since the Surface is thinner, that's what I'm going with, since I know the Surface provides adequate protection for all my needs.
Here are the descriptions from Seidio's website:
Our SURFACE™ case is thin and sleek, perfect for those who want to shield their device from everyday wear. Depending on the device's size and dimensions, the case either snaps or slides together. Precision cut-outs allow access to all ports and controls, and the case is finished with our signature soft-touch coating that doesn't attract lint and slides easily in and out of your pocket or purse.
Designed for those with an on-the-go lifestyle, our DILEX™ case provides great shock and impact absorption. With two layers, our DILEX™ case is slightly thicker than our SURFACE™ case. The DILEX™ Skin, the first layer, is a highly durable polymer that covers vital ports and controls. The second layer, which is the DILEX™ Skeleton, fits over the DILEX™ Skin and provides extra protection at impact points such as corners and sides.

Looks like it retains the shape of the device, but adds some thickness like the neo hybrid. Worth considering.

Yes the Dilex or I am used to calling it the ACTIVE cases, which are thicker because there is a top piece, usually plastic that covers a portion of the softer case, thus making it thicker. Great protection and one of the better cases for drop protection IMO. However, I have just been using the Dilex/Active holsters as a belt holster in combination of various tpu cases.

I wouldn't mind getting another but need to know if the wireless charging will work through the case. They only say NFC works through the cases and nothing and wireless charging.
Time will tell tho when people here start getting their cases in.
I was just going to report this myself and they are now showing at amazon although only the black can be ordered, same as the manufacturer website. I had one of the surface cases on my N1 and my wife had it on the sgs at the same time. On the N1 the case worked well and the phone did survive a few drops undamaged. It worked less well on the sgs. As some of you might recall that phone was flimsy and the two piece nature of the surface combined with that flimsiness was a bad combo. The entire case/phone combo would move around allowing the case to abrade her phone a little bit and it simply felt bad. Exact opposite of the N1 where it felt very good and did not move or abrade the phone in any way. Mine did collect a little lint from some fabrics but nothing like some gel cases I've had. I'm guessing most would be ok with the lint factor and in reviews I've seen few complaints.
I've decided to go ahead and order the dilex version to give it a try and amazon is showing an after xmas delivery timeframe. Right now I have the ne-hybrid which is ok but not exactly confidence inspiring.

Otter box commuter case/ Seidio s2 holster

So... I needed a case quickly because I do construction and need tough protection. The place I went to had the otter defender, but I don't like the look of it as well as the commuter. So for fun, I asked if he could take the commuter out of the package. I had my t989 s2 on me... In its Seidio case and holster. And bingo... The holster held the commuter pretty well. Shook it face down with my hand under it... And it took a violent shake to make my Moto X in its commuter fall out. So I bought it.
However.. The top clip on holster to release the phone looked like it would fit over the commuter a bit better if I straightened it's curve out a wee bit. Also the sides of the holster weren't very snug. So I took a lighter... Heated the plastic on those spots on the holster a bit. Now the top clip is a bit straighten and fits over the commuter a bit better and the sides of the holster are snug around the commuter now.
So... If anyone really likes the otter box commuter and wants a holster to go with it... And you don't mind tweaking the holster a bit... Amazon sells the Seidio holster separate from the case... For most phones anyway. Grab the S2 T-Mobile t989 holster. Then do some slight bending. I heated mine to long and melted the edges a little... So be careful. Lol I don't care cause it's beat to crap anyway. I may buy a new one.
Sent from my XT1058 using Tapatalk
Btw...if your phone does fall out of the holster and smashes ... It wasn't me that told you about it. I'll deny everything.
Seriously tho... It did take a violent shake to make it fall out. And that's my two year old holster. The springs on the release clip are a little loose now too. Think I'll buy a new one. Then it should be held even better.
Sent from my XT1058 using Tapatalk
OK... An update. I still wasn't happy with the holster top release clip.... So I heated it up big time... It was very soft then. Slipped the phone in, in the commuter case and basically stretched the top clip over the commuter and held it until it hardened. Made the clip a little ugly... But now it's nearly a perfect fit.
Anyway... Gonna see how it goes.... Before I pay for a new holster and repeat all this. My springs are pretty loose..... It's 2 years old.
So this thread may be silly to you guys.... But just experimenting here. Lol
Just don't like the defender case... And didn't want to wait for shipping for something off Amazon. If I end up not liking this set up... Then I'll order a different brand case and holster combo. At least the commuter will protect my phone till it arrived. I do like the sleek look of the commuter tho. Great protection and not toooo bulky.

Perhaps Seidio has a Moto X specific holster? Have you checked?

They do... But it's for their case. Unless I could try it .. Who knows if it fits the commuter case.
I'm gonna probably just stick with my holster now... And after I'm done buying kids Christmas stuff... Get a different case with holster.
I do really like this commuter case... Sucks that otter doesn't make a holster for it.
I got my holster fitting great now tho .... It's just a little burn scarred . Lol

The commuter case and seidio holster were working great... But the springs on my two year old seidio holster's clip broke. Got a defender case and holster now. Big... But feels like a tank. In my job that's what I need. And once my defender is hacked up from work, I'll just use it at work and use my commuter outside of work, when I don't need a holster.

I think it's very retarded of them to put the locking thingie where the audio jack is. That means u have to unplug the jack everytime u take out the phone. Wtf were they thinking?

I would never walk around with my ear buds in with phone in the holster, so I didn't think of that. But yeah, you're right. Lol
Anyway, I got a defender now and couldn't be more pleased with it.

I really like the puregear shell/holster combo. If you do construction, it might not be tough enough to survive a fall from a height, but for my everyday uses (purse, jogging), it is great.

That's definitely a nice looking case. Does look thinner than my defender. Not bad at all!
For work, I do feel better with it inside the defender tank tho. Lol
When my defender gets enough dings and scratches in it, I might use my commuter outside of work...Or maybe something new. I'll keep your find in mind for sure. Might still want a holster outside of work. At work I'll keep it in my soon to be beat up defender tho for sure.

I have a desk job so the kickstand is really nice for having my phone propped up on my desk.
If body guardz would make a Moto X tempered glass screen saver, I would be sooooo happy!
