Is It Bad To Use Dash Charger With Axon 7? - ZTE Axon 7 Accessories

I own the OnePlus 3. I just bought the Axon 7 but I have an extra dash charger at work. Is it safe/smart to still use the Dash charger on the Axon? Or should I buy a new charger? Thanks in advance.

Back when i had my Oppo Find 7, the VOOC charger charged my other phone at a normal rate. I know it's the exact same charging technology so if they didn't change anything, you should be able to charge at a slow rate (no Quick Charge).
But you should ask that in the OP3 forums, people there should be more informed on this matter.
EDIT : Just checked the charging rate on the Axon 7 with the VOOC Charger (again, same technology as DASH Charge). Im getting 1A and 4.187V, so it's the normal ratings for standard charge.

[Q] Car charger?

Hi everyone,
do you know if there is any car charger which works well with Asus Zenfone 2?
Just get a cheap 2A usb port 12v converter. Walgreen's sells them for like $5.

Any normal car charger will work.
I use this one and it works great.

5V, 2.1A. It's no rapid charging 18W, but it's pretty quick.
Get any Quick Charge 2.0 charger like this so you can take advantage of it.
A 2.1A charger with a charge-only usb cord is more than sufficient.
Note that if you use the phone for Navigation with Google, (obviously screen on permanently, GPS and data use) a 2.1 A charger will keep it alive, but will struggle to get it to 100%.
I drove for 3.5 hrs yesterday, when I started the battery was at about 50%, at the end of the trip it was up around 90%.
Aukey burnt my zf2
Hello
I purchased this charger (aukey quick charge 2.0) and it burnt my phone. I had to pay 25 bucks to get the asus warranty replacement + shipping charges.

I've read your post the day I bought the same car charger which damaged your phone... I was so scared that I didn't use it until today, now I can confirm that Aukey quick charge 2.0 (model CC-T1) DID NOT damage my Zenfone 2. It works like a charm
Aukey customer support confirmed me that
this item supports Asus Zenfone 2

I also have this Aukey car charger, works well, I use the QC2.0 port and my GF can use the other port for her phone.

This has been my experience with non-QC2 chargers on most recent phones too.
I have the Tenergy QC2.0 car charger, I also now have a dual-QC2-port QC2.0 car charger from SwifTrans - both work great with all of my QC2 devices (that includes the ZF2)

Nope
I think Dash charging isn't helping in real life multipurpose use.... but Qualcomm quite charging does that....
Oneplus should make dash charging support power bank or make 3/3T Quick charging 3.0 enabled ?
Well, OPPO's VOOC flash charge is the same as DASH, and people report their VOOC power banks work with DASH charging (with a Micro-USB to USB-C adapter).
OPPO link: http://www.oppo.com/ph/accessory-vooc-power-bank (I only found it on their Philippine page)
Amazon link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/OPPO-VOOC-Flash-Charge-Power/dp/B00SINEEXA (Out of stock)
Good luck finding one.
Try vooc power bank and it won't give you exact same speed as dash charge as dash charge because that gives output of 4amps but the vooc power bank by vivo give 3.4amps but that should also be fast and it should work because vivo and oneplus are owned by same company and use same technology with different names

any one know
this 5V 4.2A can charge like dash?

OnePlus car charger

Hi everyone!
I have a car charger for my old phone, the OnePlus 3. But yesterday my Samsung Galaxy s8+ arrived and is now my daily driver .
My question is : Does a official OnePlus car charger (with dash charge) works for my Samsung Galaxy s8+? If so, does it damage the battery?
Kind Regards,
Pieter
I have tried mine with the old OnePlus dash charger and though it works, the charge speed is crazy slow. The phone was reporting that from about 40% it would take 5 hours to finish the charge.
Am guessing there is something propitiatory in the dash charger that is causing this. I dont use it on the S8 anymore, incase its damaging the battery somehow.

It won't damage the battery, but it also won't do fast charging as the Dash charging is proprietary and doesn't support Qualcomm's (also proprietary but much more widely used) Quick Charge 2 (or higher; QC is backwards compatible) that the S8/S8+ uses.
According to the car Dash Charger specs the standard (non-Dash) charge supports up to 5V at 2A, which is 10W. Compare this to the official Samsung charger's 9V at 1.67A (QC2), so provides 15W.

In theory then it should be able to charge the S8+ at two-thirds of the speed of the official charger, however it is possible there are other incompatibilities that slows it down - ie. the Dash charger won't provide the full 10W for some reason. A possibility might be the Dash charger cable, as from what I understand this is a bit different to a normal cable to support the Dash charging technology. Maybe try a high-quality standard USB and see if it charges any faster?
An aside: The S8/S8+ is the fact it can also fast charge over (the non-proprietary) USB Type C with 5V at 3A (also 15W). This isn't USB Power Delivery (USB-PD), just the 15W allowed by USB Type C, and since that can provide the full 15W the phone can use over QC2 there's no actual need for USB-PD - but most charges that support 5V at 3A are labelled as providing USB-PD and will work with the phone even if the phone don't use the 'PD' part of the spec.

OP5T dash charger and cable doesn't work with OP5

Hi all,
At the moment I have both OP5 and OP5T smartphones, tomorrow I will give away my OP5. I tryed to use the dash charger and cable of my OP5T to charge the OP5 but doesn't work, it works only as normal charger, not dash. Do you know why?
Thanks

Sure. Both charger and cables are official, are the ones that you find inside the box with the smartphone

Can't help with your issue but just giving you my experiences. I have bought both Oneplus 3 and the 5t and both of the chargers works similarly with both phones. When I bought the OP3 I also bought the car dash charger and it as well works with both phones.
The chargers for my 3T , 5 and 5T are 100% the same. Then only way I can tell them apart is the print on the 3T charger is faint, I used a sharpie to mark my 5 charger and I left the plastic on my 5T charger. I makes no difference what charger is used to charge what phone, they all dash charge like they should.
My oneplus 3 and 3t dash cable and charger work, I have not even used my 5t cable charger yet
OP3, OP3T, OP5 and OP5T use identical chargers and cable. My GF has a 5 and we use them interchangeably.
Also Oppo use identical chargers, but different cable. I have a bunch of Oppo chargers and use those as well just with new cables bought from the OnePlus store.
So yeah, my guess would be a problem with the 5?
That's weird. For what it's worth, my partner has an old Oppo Find 7a with a VOOC charger which looks identical to the Dash charger (basically the same company I guess), but has a 5 amp output. When I put my Oneplus cable into it, lo and behold, Dash charging is enabled on my phone. Similarly, my partner also has the Oppo VOOC 6,000 mah battery pack, and when I use a USB C to Micro USB adapter, this also Dash charges the oneplus ?.
Same dash charger but different in performance on 3t and 5t.
In my case it's different. My dash charger charges my OnePlus 3T super fine. But same charger won't charges my OnePlus 5T...it gives me a dash charger sign but unfortunately for 6/7 sec and disconnects for a second and again charges 6/7 sec....and it happens continuously. I tried that charger on other 5T device too but it's same like on my 5t... Weird experience.

Question Warp Charge 30 not working?

Has anyone got warp charge 30 / 30w charging to work on their 9 pro? When I look at the charge speed using #8008 and logging the charge current with the screen off I never get over 1.2A or 1200ma. That is with the car charger and wall charger from one plus. My 65w charger will charge over 6A fine with the screen off. I tested the 30w chargers on my oneplus 7 pro and they work fine. I also noticed if I use a charger designed for PD my phone will charge at 2.0A / 2000ma. I find it strange the phone won't work in backwards compatibility. I actually get faster charging from my oneplus 5t charger that was only rated at 3.5A.
If anyone has a solution please let me know.
Because warp charge 30 can only negotiate up to the max of 5v. The warp charge 65 is 10 volts. The 9 pro phone uses a split cell battery which effectively splits and halves the incoming voltage and amperage for each cell so 10 volts become 5 volts each which would explain the much less than ideal charging speed.
Coincidentally USB-PD also can negotiate higher output voltage (I believe 9 volts) hence the compatibility to work with them.

I had considered the the 5v vs 10v but I thought one plus had mentioned the phone was fully backwards compatible. I really need to find a car charger that can charge the phone fast. I thought about buying the 50w OPPO charger but I cannot find one from any reputable place or even oppos site for sale. Right now I use my inverter in my work truck. If I could actually charger at 30w that would be fine for my needs but when using hotspot or GPS the phone doesn't even charge much at all when it only draws 1.2A. It takes multiple hours to charge 50% at that speed.

Never on the specs on the official product page for the warp 30 charger states it works with the 9 pro. Just settle on any 45+ watt usb-pd adapter and it'll get pretty close to warp 30 charger's max speed which would get you topped off in roughly an hour or more. Save yourself the headache and be grateful that's even an option as past OnePlus phones would only cap at 5 watts on any non OnePlus fastchargers.
PS, I wouldn't trust any marketing fluff coming from OnePlus as of late, they've been clickbaity and false hype inducing with bold but cleverly misworded claims since the inception of the 8 series and has been going downhill from there. My 9 pro is likely going to be my last OnePlus and likely last forray with android phones as a whole.
On the other hand..., wireless warp charger 30w from OnePlus 8 Pro works fine on my OnePlus 9 Pro.
I use it untill i got my 50w warp charger.
