[BootAnimation] Darkish & Black Stock - Google Pixel Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hey guys, I've created 2 new bootanimations for the Google Pixel. One is dark and kind of blueish. The other is completely black. Your choice! Enjoy!
I also included the stock bootanimation for anyone that wants to revert or use on another device.
Instructions: (same as forever)
1. Download bootanimation.zip of your choice, into SD Card.
2. Move zip to /system/media/ and overwrite existing bootanimation.zip
3. Change permissions for the .zip file to 0644 (rw- r-- r--)
Optional 4. Reboot
Enjoy on your next reboot.
Download Black
Download Darkish
Download Pixel STOCK
Download Pixel XL STOCK

Why did you make this when this exists?
First, I was bored. Second, this actually applies the original/stock Google format of the images. Third, smaller filesize . Fourth, because I can.
P.S No I cannot change the unlocked screen because it's buried somewhere in the bootloader which first needs extracting then repacking, and it's certainly not worth the risk for me to try and get that. If you know then that's great!
P.P.S If you want to make this for Pixel XL (I don't have this phone so I didn't bother), replace the images in XL zip with the ones in the Dark/Black zip I provided (the pictures might come out weird/smaller or just blurry). They are different resolution, that's why I didn't bother to do it... Photoshop Action script didn't work as planned on XL because the image actually touches the edge, so it'd be manually going through ~300 images to touch up missed fills, lol nothx.

I have just installed the black version: very nice, thank you.
F.

i also just installed the darkish one with substratum dark theme

If we can only get rid of that boot image!

Should the Google screen be black as well or just the 4 dots screen? The Google screen is still white for me.

The unlocked screen he's referring is the one when you first boot up and it says "your device software can't be checked for corruption, please lock your bootloader". The pics in the OP show the Google screen as black and mine is still white.

Touché.
Now I am curious because mine is still white, too. Thought that's what he was referring to...

I can't get the new boot animation to work. I named it the same as the original and left the original in the directory but added "stock" to the name. What am I doing wrong? I keep getting the default boot logo. Permissions appear to be correct as well.
Thanks!

Sorry for the confusion, I should've been more specific. It's the both the screen you are talking about AND the Google screen with the unlocked icon on the bottom. Both are separate from the actual boot animation.

That's strange, what program did you use to change the permissions? I used ES File Explorer. You should move your stock .zip into another folder too, maybe /sdcard/Downloads ?

OK it's working. Is there anyway to change the initial white screen with the G logo showing your phone is unlocked prior to the boot animation.

Thank you for the clarification.

Looks great but small on xl

Great job グリッチ !
Since we can't change the white 'Google' lock screen, yet, how about making it fade from white to black/darkish in part0?
It might make the white to black/darkish change a little less dramatic.
Just a thought

Awesome this is exactly what I was looking for. Too bad we're stuck with the white Google unlock screen

This is fantastic! Thank you.

I've dealt with that when trying to download from gdrive via mobile. Have you tried downloading on a pc?

For whatever reason I am unable to set permissions for the zip once I've moved it to /system/media. Help?

Boot Screen Flasher 3000 by dom2684 & Octoberriot

THis is a very simple batch file to assist you in flashing a boot screen
it still uses the same files as before its just put together in one section for ease of use as you can see
thanks to xMemphisx for supplying the required files for this to work

1.Extract BSF3000 and open the BSF300 Folder
2. Run CreateG1Splash.exe and choose your boot image (320 x 480 PNG for best results)
3. run the bootflash.bat and follow the on screen steps
* Reboot into fastboot
* IF you're on the older spl then u have 2 screens to flash so you're gonna follow step 3 and 4. and reboot
*If you're on the newest spl the you're just going to flash 1 screen by following step 2 and reboot
4. VIOLA!!! u have a new bootscreen with no copying and pasting

I don't get it. What is classified as the "special" SPL, and what is the "other" spl's? Create a list please .
I'm using Haykuro's Danger SPL...I assume that's "special"?
im assuming special is haykuros and other is any other spl
grr...I hate having a Mac! lol
Anyway someone could setup something like this for linux or Mac users. Pretty please.
Yes sorry for any confusion ....haykuros spl is the special spl
Where is it pulling mysplash.rgb565 from? Says mine cannot load it.
Edit: Fixed the problem. I placed the .bat file in my Android SDK Tools folder, intended to work next to ADB. Didn't know you could run the .bat from the extracted zip folder itself.
Problem: Haykuro's SPL only flashes the first screen, the T-Mobile G1 screen, correct?

if u created ur own bootscreen it should be pulling it from the folder
Alright. Got everything to work. Might want to flash back to the original G1 screen, because having that first T-Mobile screen is crucial to me.
On a side note, a couple of apps and widgets broke upon rebooting. Some widgets wouldn't load, other apps lost data connections. Ran a fix_permissions, everything works fine now
Curious question, does anyone have the original "T-Mobile G1" boot screen?

nice work dom. It was quite a bit easier this way. I noticed after flashing the danger spl that i could only change one boot screen. Anyone know why that is? Not super important since the first one only last a couple seconds anyways.

Can this batch file also install a .gif splash screen? I'm wanting the HTC splash with the little android that peeks out.

"danger" SPL only has 1 boot screen to flash, there's a thread about it somewhere, think i read it in the old thread somewhere
note about the tool, VERY fast, VERY easy, even a n00b like me could do it. If you have "danger" SPL you will need updated USB drivers, but i'm sure you know that already
The script litterally is, put your image into the folder, run the bat, press 2 <enter> (for special SPL that is)and you're done, really couldn't be simpler if you tried
I'm glad everyone likes it
my adb work find, but for some reason this script stay at wating for device, any input?

[BOOTANIMATION] Animated G2 logo boot animation

I really like the stock G2 boot image, but without being animated, it felt very stiff and boring. So I added some animation to it. It's very simple, with the fading grey lines at the top and bottom moving to the left slowly:

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
(this is a low quality GIF, the actual animation looks better, I promise)
I made this mostly for myself, but it turned out better than I expected so I wanted to share it. This is my very first boot animation, so be gentle in your criticism. This is an 800x480 boot animation, so it should work on other devices with that screen resolution, though I don't know why you'd want a G2 boot screen on your Nexus One or Droid Incredible.
To use this animation, use adb or a root explorer app to put the file in /data/local and make sure it's named bootanimation.zip. The file is attached below, or you can download it from MediaFire.
UPDATE: I just finished the modified version of this boot animation that replaces the T-Mobile logo with the HTC logo. Aside from that, they're the same. The new one is attached below, or you can grab it from MediaFire.
Enjoy!
Very cool! I like this because it maintains the stock look but is much nicer than the static boot image. Also not too goofy or flashy like others I've seen. Downloaded and copied to /data/local/ with Root Explorer, reported, and worked great! Thanks !

You can do it 3 ways... through adb, terminal, or root file manager.
Made this real quick while waiting to be unloaded. Tested and works. Put .zip on root of sd, open file manager (have su permissions and mounted as rw) copy and go to system/media, paste. Enjoy! "Rooted!!" will flash. I think it's cool so I share.Peace

That's not a bad idea. I personally like the T-Mobile version, but I can try making a version with an HTC logo. Any preference on color? Should the HTC logo be green or the same grey as the G2 logo? I should have time to make that later today.
If I put this in data/local, then choose to delete it at some point, will I encounter any issues?

Absolutely not . If you want to go back to the stock boot animation
just use root explorer to move the bootanimation.zip folder from
data/local back to your sd card , Reboot and back to normal .

Unfortunately, I believe there is no such possibility.
NP. Currently I set the Core animation. Sick and slick.
On a side note, there any possibility that these boot animations could cause random reboots? It doesn't seem logical, but it started happening right after I set them. I put about 6 of them in the /system/media folder with only one set to be the boot animation - could this be the problem?

I have tested all of these boot animations on my i9001 and did not encounter any problem. I haven't tried putting several .zips in /system/media though, I store them all on sdcard. But I assume there is possibility of strange behavior after putting unknown files on system partition. You could try to move unused boot animations to sdcard too and see if your phone stops acting weird.
Did just that - moved all other animations to SD card. Will report in a few days if the problem is related.
EDIT: Yep, it seems the random reboots were related to having more of these bootanimaton zips in the /system/media folder. After moving them the reboots completely stopped.

I've contacted the author of these .gifs to ask permission before I converted those into bootanimations. If you are interested in using these bootanimations in your works, I'd contact the author first and credit him, of course.

I'll take a look at that link, thanks.
I use GIMP to edit dimensions of image and convert each frame of .gif into standalone .png or .jpg, then I edit desc.txt to adjust framerate and compress all files into .zip archive. Nothing special.

CyanogenMod 10 .qmg bootanimation

CyanogenMod 10 .qmg Boot Animation For Samsung Galaxy Note 3
As promised this bootanimation and the rest will be focusing on higher resolution files for our big screens to look nice and crisp
1. First and foremost obviously you must be rooted and have root explorer.
2. Download and extract the zip in the attachments to your phone or push them through from the computer. It contains the 2 files needed for a bootanimation.
3. It is also always good practice to backup your phone in safestrap made possible by Hascode, MANY thanks for that.
4. Once you have everything, open root explorer and navigate to system/media and backup two files "bootsamsung.qmg" AND "bootsamsungloop.qmg".
5. After backing them up to another location on your internal or external storage, delete them from system/media and replace them with the 2 files that you extracted from the zip. Reboot and enjoy a non-stock Verizon-Free bootanimation.
Of course this is at your own risk, but it worked for me.

If your boot animation files have a different name just rename the files in the zip to whatever your default boot animation files are named so it works. Assuming you're using a different device than the Note 3 that is. I think they may vary in file names from device to device, not sure....

Sorry about that again, here is the updated file. Judging by how it came out when you sent me the video, I don't really know if it will come out correctly even now that it's fixed because I don't have that type of phone to test it on. [Mod] Boot Animation / Shutdown Animation - Oneplus Animated Logo

This is something that I found after an hour or so of googling for cool boot animations. I cant seem to find it again, and I dont think the thread had a preview video or gif, so I extracted all the images from the zip and made a quick video. Attached are two zips that you can just place in "system/media" with root explorer or an equivalent (Of course I would make a backup of the two zips that are there in case you want to revert to stock). Technically its the same zip just renamed, but it works really well for both startup and shutdown .
Also this may be a stock boot animation for one of the Oneplus devices, but I have no idea since this is my first time going Onplus lol. Anyway, hope someone besides me finds this useful :]

Anyway, hope someone besides me finds this useful :]

it just goes into the same place as the boot animation. You should see both of those files /system/media

My 6T does not have a shutdownanimation.zip by default. Placing your file in system/media results in nothing. Is it only for the TMobile variant?

That's something I hadn't considered. Yeah I have the tmobile variant, but try putting it there anyway and see what happens. It shouldn't hurt anything.

Nothing happens when you put the shutdown animation zip in system/media. The phone shuts down as usual with the "shutting down" prompt

Can confirm. Nothing happened with shut down zip. I'm in tmo variant flashed to international version.

Interesting! Alright thanks to both of you for trying, I'll update the OP.
Will this removed the t-mo animations?
It works. I like this animation better than the current stock one.
Thank u OP, looks great, better than stock imo.
This is exactly what I was looking for! I have T-Mobile variant and I really just rooted to get rid of that awful pink garbage when I booted my phone. Fantastic find!
