Anyone?

Hi friend,
I'm in the same ditch as you are.
I don't trust those videos one bit.
I really love those Wiko Lenny 3 phones. They are cheap (40 dollars) and are really something nice. But I don't want to brick my phone just yet.
Is there a safe way to root these phones?
I'm actually surprised this hasn't come any further. The phone is pretty awesome for the price but the SIM lock is annoying as hell. Speaking about it, it actually has 2 SIM card slots which is pretty awesome.
I bought some nice games so far for my account and I love to use the device. But I wish I could root it and use the full potential of this device
Has anybody rooted this device successfully?
It's being sold in Switzerland in the post stores for CHF 40 / about 40 dollars with 2 years of SIM lock to Swisscom.
It's a great deal, but I wish I could **** up the SIM lock.
Any success stories and manuals would be highly appreciated!
Regards,
Pix

IPhone 4 Replica Rooting

Hi guys,
My first time here. Found this site while googling for solutions. A friend recently bought a Iphone 4 replica while he was on vacation in China. I'm trying to root it as it seems to be running on android with an ios overlay. However, there is no android market app. There is a file manager but does not has the ability to install apk files.
Anyone know the approach to root this phone? Sorry for my ignorance, i'm new to this!
Thanks for any help!
Try SuperOneClick?
Yep, tried, didn't work...
Try looking on a chinese site. The translations may or may not be good (eh they will def suck) but they will provide you with some kind of insight into the device.
These are the problem of the chinese phone.
You can't do nothing on it, you can't find replacement if you broken it.
it's chinese. It have low cost. this is only the better thing.
i 'm not ready to buy ip4 ,money problem.

[Q] Since cannot Root 4.4.2 Suggestions for a new Phone Rec

Since I cannot root Note 2 4.4.2 any longer, any recommendations what phone to switch to that I can unlock and root? I like the size of note 2. I watch a lot of videos? Like S-Pen
Thanks

You start this question under a false premise. Why do you think you cant root 4.4.2?????????
I'm using this app for a year now on my Note 2 (on 4.1,4.2, 4.4.2 ):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=polis.app.callrecorder&hl=de
works perfect and does not need root permissions. The volume of the other person is a little bit low in contrast to yours but thats okay
edit: oh i think i overread the post I thought because of the title ("[...] new Phone Rec") he searches a non-root callrecording app
To TheATHEiST,
You don't know me, but I am not too surprise that I started my question on a false premise.
To Androidwizzard,
Thanks for the link. I plan on rooting Sunday and will let you know how it works out.
I also asked this question on two other threads and I was told I couldn't do it. In this case I am glad I am very stubborn and didn't take no for an answer.
Thank you both,
Michael

[Q] M8 questions.......

Ok sorry that my other post wasnt correctly done, so I will fix it here..
I have some questions about the M8...
How hard is the unlocking process and rooting the phone?
I know you cant compare Roms, can I ask if there is a good selection of them available for this phone?
Also I want to play netflix from my phone to my tv, movies and such. Does this phone work with ChromeCast? Or what ways can I connect it to my Samsung HDTV or Samsung Smart Bluray player?
Also is there any good cases like the OtterBox or Lifeproof for the M8? I need it for work, the better protection the better
thanks

1) Yes unlocking and rooting is very simple, it's all done with one application called Sunshine. All though it costs $25 it unlocks your phone & S-OFF's it. Rooting requires flashing a custom recovery and flashing the SuperSu zip file. Very simple. Also you can try using HTCDev which will work as long as you're not using the Verizon variant I believe.
2) will edit when I find out in a moment and or someone else will have to tell you. EDIT: Don't think so but might be wrong and theres probably other ways though
3) Yes there is an Otterbox, not sure about the other though.
Unlocking and rooting are easy but if you're not familiar with HTC phones do your reading first, people new to HTC sometimes get confused. There are lots of guides here to walk you through whatever you want to do.
For root you will need to unlock the bootloader (unless you've got a Developer Edition) so just follow one of the guides.
You don't need S-Off to root your phone. The free S-Off options don't work for newer M8s and I don't recommend paying for it if you don't know what you'd need it for; you can always do it later if you want to.
ROMs - just click the link on the M8 page and see what's on offer.
Chromecast works just fine - I use it for Netflix and YouTube with absolutely no problems. I hear that screen mirroring also works on some ROMs but it doesn't work on the one I use.
I have the M8 Otterbox, and it's a solid case. The only things I'm not thrilled about are the lack of protection for the power button* and the large (but necessary) openings for the speakers. Overall, it doesn't feel quite as sturdy as my Skyrocket Otterbox case, but so far it has done fine.
No clue on the other case, as I don't own it.
* Required for the IR blaster to work, but I'm still not comfy with it being exposed like that.

New to the Zenfone 2

Hey all,
I'm new to the Zenfone 2, coming from the Huawei Ascend Mate 2 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus so I'm wondering if you can give me your best recommendations as far as rooting and Zen based ROMS. I have the ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition being delivered today. I don't want to mess with anything CM related at the moment until I have had a chance to play with it and until it's bug free, 100%. Thoughts & suggestions???

Welcome to Zen Family!
Root : http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/asus-zenfone-2-flashing-recovery-mode-t3096596
(3.1 Rooting Zenfone 2, Method 3 (1 CLICK ROOT TOOL) - best option in my opinion)
ROM : Prism Barebone V12.5

(if you want bloatfree stock experience)
P.S. Bootloader need to be unlocked and TWRP installed for flashing roms
Cool thanks for the info! I'm looking forward to this device. Bought my gf the 64gb version a couple of months ago and she loves it

If you decide to unlock bootloader, use the unofficial unlocker as it doesn't give ASUS your IMEI and stop OTA's being pushed to you if you decide to stick with stock rom for a while...
Thought I'd mention, once bootloader is unlocked you can't re-lock it...

Thanks! I'll definitely look that up and go through the process
My advice is if you don't want anything so special then don't root it, you can now uninstall almost every of the bloatware without rooting. And the stock rom is good enough I have no complaints, knowing that I was a root addict with my last phone. There only thing that I think makes rooting worthy is the adblock. You can't find any decent non-root adblock.

Well, you can uninstall the 3rd party bloat. You can't uninstall the Asus/Google stuff, but can now disable most of it, which is good enough.
@MikeyLee I thought your name looked familiar! I came from the Mate 2, too. The stock rom has gotten much better over time. Prism Barebones is great, especially if you want a clean slate without going to CM. Also like @ultramag69 said, use the unofficial bootloader unlock method.
For the moment I have 2 months with this cellphone, the 4gb is excellent but the battery is terrible I wait it will solved with android 6.0

Exactly my sentiments regarding rooting. I've had the phone for 9 months and have no reason to root. I use Adguard and it's a very effective no-root adblocker.
My only recommendation echoe rom go check it out i b his forum at echoerom.com
It is stock based but will give you an awesome experience with amazing speed and decent battery life

It did not come with a card but I did already have one. It's the 128GB internal storage, 4GB RAM 2.3mhz Intel Atom
Z3580 processor. There were actually things missing from it but it's brand new and was factory sealed. It was missing the second battery cover and the headset that was supposed to come with it. Kinda pissed about that.

Why not return it? I was going to get from Amazon but wasn't sure if it came with the 128gb SD card.

I don't want to return the entire thing and be without it for that long. Just want them to send me the items that were supposed to be included. At this point I think I will contact ASUS. I should have bought it direct from them

Question Anyone here bought the G40?

Greetings,
I'm interested in buying this phone mostly because it seems to have a good camera on paper for my <20k INR budget and the UI is a personal favourite of mine, just below the OxygenOS.
I would love to hear your experience with the camera, if it supports the GCam mod properly, and does the chunky design of the phone really make you reconsider buying it?
I would also love to know if you've tried anything to make the hdr10 work outside the YouTube app.
Thank you
I intend to get one if its easy to root the phone. Is it possible?

Yeah, from what I gathered online, all moto phones have a very similar and simple way to root them.
I remember having to write a letter to Xiaomi on why I wanted to root my phone and wait a week just to have the ability to unlock the bootloader of my Redmi note 4 lol. Moto's method is definitely way easier than that.

would system be read/write though? I've been out of the loop for a while, is there any fix for it yet?
if you're purchasing now, then there's no ROMs, TWRP, or anything.. but u can easily unlock bootloader and use ADB coz its Stock Android.. so if you want custom ROMs.. now you can just wait.. (if any ROM developer sees this.. if u own a Moto G40F.. pls make ROMs for this device.. thanks)
