[Q] Since cannot Root 4.4.2 Suggestions for a new Phone Rec - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since I cannot root Note 2 4.4.2 any longer, any recommendations what phone to switch to that I can unlock and root? I like the size of note 2. I watch a lot of videos? Like S-Pen
Thanks
Michael

Why are you not able to root? It is rather easy to do: LINK

You start this question under a false premise. Why do you think you cant root 4.4.2?????????

I'm using this app for a year now on my Note 2 (on 4.1,4.2, 4.4.2 ):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=polis.app.callrecorder&hl=de
works perfect and does not need root permissions. The volume of the other person is a little bit low in contrast to yours but thats okay
edit: oh i think i overread the post I thought because of the title ("[...] new Phone Rec") he searches a non-root callrecording app

To TheATHEiST,
You don't know me, but I am not too surprise that I started my question on a false premise.
To Androidwizzard,
Thanks for the link. I plan on rooting Sunday and will let you know how it works out.
I also asked this question on two other threads and I was told I couldn't do it. In this case I am glad I am very stubborn and didn't take no for an answer.
Thank you both,
Michael

Request for Unlocking bootloader Att note 8.0 i467

i would love to try out new roms and fully utilize my awesome i467 note 8.0
this locked bootloader sucks
im willing to even pay .
moderator if i posted in the wrong section , please remove.
There´s no need to unlock bootloader to try any ROM I think...
You just have to check if your Note 8 is the N5100, N5110 or N5120 version, that I think in your case is the N5120

I would pay too. A only partially functional 4.1.2 is not ideal. Screen lag is killing me.
Yes the i467 is a different variation, and I agree the screen lag really sucks. I wish someone could help us.... it would be a great xmas presant ; p aaaaaand id give you a night with my sexy korean gf
It's just rather strange and irritating that there is no support in here for the U.S. variant (SGH-i467). I bought mine from AT&T .. should have look on here first before getting it !!

Guys, sorry but we're all basically screwed on this one! Unlocking the bootloader on this device just isn't going to happen. Even if it did my some miracle, there's no one that wants to build a custom rom for it. There's barely anyone that wants to build a rom for the wifi version! This device never really just caught on in popularity like some others. My advice is to just take the bite like I did and get something else. I'm sure you could find someone out there that doesn't care about an unlocked bootloader that'll take it off your hands. It does suck but that's just the way it is.
Trust me, I learned the hard way too!!! If it helps I would recommend a Nexus 7 2013. It's not to expensive and there are tons of roms out there. Even if you don't root it or unlock it it's already updated to 4.4.2. Well, anyways, everyone have a Merry Christmas!!!!!

New to the Zenfone 2

Hey all,
I'm new to the Zenfone 2, coming from the Huawei Ascend Mate 2 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus so I'm wondering if you can give me your best recommendations as far as rooting and Zen based ROMS. I have the ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition being delivered today. I don't want to mess with anything CM related at the moment until I have had a chance to play with it and until it's bug free, 100%. Thoughts & suggestions???

Welcome to Zen Family!
Root : http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/asus-zenfone-2-flashing-recovery-mode-t3096596
(3.1 Rooting Zenfone 2, Method 3 (1 CLICK ROOT TOOL) - best option in my opinion)
ROM : Prism Barebone V12.5
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/development/rom-prism2013266073-barebone-v1-t3168872
(if you want bloatfree stock experience)
P.S. Bootloader need to be unlocked and TWRP installed for flashing roms
Cool thanks for the info! I'm looking forward to this device. Bought my gf the 64gb version a couple of months ago and she loves it

If you decide to unlock bootloader, use the unofficial unlocker as it doesn't give ASUS your IMEI and stop OTA's being pushed to you if you decide to stick with stock rom for a while...
Thought I'd mention, once bootloader is unlocked you can't re-lock it...

Thanks! I'll definitely look that up and go through the process
My advice is if you don't want anything so special then don't root it, you can now uninstall almost every of the bloatware without rooting. And the stock rom is good enough I have no complaints, knowing that I was a root addict with my last phone. There only thing that I think makes rooting worthy is the adblock. You can't find any decent non-root adblock.

Well, you can uninstall the 3rd party bloat. You can't uninstall the Asus/Google stuff, but can now disable most of it, which is good enough.
@MikeyLee I thought your name looked familiar! I came from the Mate 2, too. The stock rom has gotten much better over time. Prism Barebones is great, especially if you want a clean slate without going to CM. Also like @ultramag69 said, use the unofficial bootloader unlock method.
For the moment I have 2 months with this cellphone, the 4gb is excellent but the battery is terrible I wait it will solved with android 6.0

Exactly my sentiments regarding rooting. I've had the phone for 9 months and have no reason to root. I use Adguard and it's a very effective no-root adblocker.
My only recommendation echoe rom go check it out i b his forum at echoerom.com
It is stock based but will give you an awesome experience with amazing speed and decent battery life

It did not come with a card but I did already have one. It's the 128GB internal storage, 4GB RAM 2.3mhz Intel Atom
Z3580 processor. There were actually things missing from it but it's brand new and was factory sealed. It was missing the second battery cover and the headset that was supposed to come with it. Kinda pissed about that.

Why not return it? I was going to get from Amazon but wasn't sure if it came with the 128gb SD card.

I don't want to return the entire thing and be without it for that long. Just want them to send me the items that were supposed to be included. At this point I think I will contact ASUS. I should have bought it direct from them

Rooting the Wiko Lenny 3. Android 6.0

Anyone?
Hi friend,
I'm in the same ditch as you are.
I don't trust those videos one bit.
I really love those Wiko Lenny 3 phones. They are cheap (40 dollars) and are really something nice. But I don't want to brick my phone just yet.
Is there a safe way to root these phones?
I'm actually surprised this hasn't come any further. The phone is pretty awesome for the price but the SIM lock is annoying as hell. Speaking about it, it actually has 2 SIM card slots which is pretty awesome.
I bought some nice games so far for my account and I love to use the device. But I wish I could root it and use the full potential of this device
Has anybody rooted this device successfully?
It's being sold in Switzerland in the post stores for CHF 40 / about 40 dollars with 2 years of SIM lock to Swisscom.
It's a great deal, but I wish I could **** up the SIM lock.
Any success stories and manuals would be highly appreciated!
Regards,
Pix

I would think that's a question for another forum not the Galaxy S9 forums. These threads go off subject a lot but probably not developing for other brands.

I would think it would be super easy to root a clone... Have u tried enabling developer mode then switching OEM unlock on? I'm sure if you read enough of the forums you will figure it out. The other guy is right though, this is for the real version of the s9. The clone has completely different hardware and capabilities. The methods described here will not work for your device.

I'm guessing that is Vkworld's latest clone. At face value it looks like a deal but I'm wondering how it will hold up over time. Anyway, there has been development on their previous S8 model so I would expext someone may be working on the S9. Do a search for Vkworld and you'll find hits, most likely for older models but those forums will be the best place to start.

Doh, that autocorrect. I meant Google Pay.
Dont do that!
We dont have more so many custom roms.
Forget it
Not worth it anymore. Magisk is having trouble, so you will loose access to many apps like Google Pay banking apps, most of the Samsung features...If you wanna root get a Pixel.
Alright thanks guys!
These days you lose more than you gain by rooting really, only very few people with very specific needs will bother these days
