[FIXED] Multiple Blue Screen Glitches Led To Phone Bricking For No Reason - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Before the phone turning brick, I was having these weird blue screen glitches that took almost half of the screen. It would stop after a few seconds, but this type of "glitch" happened a few times. 2 days later, I was on the home screen and the phone screen turned fully blue. It didn't go away so I took out the battery. After that the phone turned on with the boot logo but then shutdown itself. Now the phone won't turn on, charge, go to recovery, or go to download mode. Is there any way to fix this? (I don't have insurance on this :/)
(FIXED) It was "fixed" by leaving it charging, but now the blue screen showed up again. Now phone is probably damaged internally :/

There is no solution to blue screen glitches.it is caused by a current IC that draws more current and heats up within 3 5 seconds. I lost one mobile in this game. I feel sorry for you too, it is hardware issue and won't get any repair.

What is "IC"? Also the phone turned on finally last night but when I connected it to a charger the same blue screen happened and now I can't turn it on again. Thanks for the information though

IC means integrated circuit. It's basically an electronic chip.

BSOD Fix
I had the same issue and was able to fix it temporarily for a few weeks but in the end I had to replace the motherboard from a donner phone. I had a lg d850 att and swapped out the mother board with a d851 from T-Mobile phone I found that had a broken screen and it worked fine after some tweaking. As far as your temporary fix (maybe permanent in your case idk) I took out my motherboard and put it in the oven at 385 degrees and baked it for 10 minutes let it cool off and reinstalled it. Phone came right up and worked like normal. Use some aluminum foil balls to put the motherboard on to keep it off of the surface in your oven that you put the motherboard on. That's it!

Phone doesn't turn on (100% factory)

Hello, I've been lurking around this forum for awhile and this is my 1st post! I've used the search feature and many other websites for my problems but cannot find anything similar =[.
My phone is 100% factory and the battery energy was around 80% at the time of incident, what happened was I received a text message but didn't check up on my phone till 30minutes later where then I pressed the home button to turn the screen on but the screen didnt power on but the phone's audible volume was working and the other 2 keys next to the home button lit up. I could click around my phone and function everything properly with no visual image to the screen (I even started my music player). I got frustrated so I attempted to soft reset it multiple ways and problem still persisted, I then decided to leave the battery out overnight to see if it would fix things, I did so and the same problem persisted, so I decided to plug it into the original usb wall charger and when I did i left the room, came back 10 minutes later tried turning it on and it doesn't even power up any more. Anyone have any ideas? The phone doesn't even turn on while plugged into the wall charger. (I do remember something about a phone update on my notifications list)
I had dropped the phone 2 months ago and the screen cracked but functioned normally and I'm afraid that I will not be able to claim warranty because they will blame the cracks.
Factory reset the device by booting into recovery.
If the screen will not function in recovery mode, or after boot. ...it's not good.
The digitizer may be toast. ..g

sounds like the drop has caught up to the device. as the post above if it doesnt work in recovery the digitizer is TOAST
why would the digitizer be toast if it logged my screen touches while the screen went dead before not being able to power on? I cannot get into recovery mode mode because the phone will not even turn on =[.
bump... can anyone help?
Sounds like the phone is gone if it won't even show charging or any kind of screen. Is there any flicker or anything?

I don't think they will, you're probably gonna have to eat this one.

Agreed. ..
You could try. ..but they will likely reject warranty and offer a repair. ..
Or offer a refurbished device at a reduced price. ..imho...g
If u bought warranty you can eat the cost of deductible. They have open enrollment til May 30th I think. I am not sure what the requirements are.

[Q] Note 2 wont turn on - blinks red light

Hi,
I have read many posts but im not sure that is really wrong with my phone.
The phone had around 80-90 % battery this afternoon and was sitting without doing anything really.
I check it an hour ago and there was a blue blinking light and did respond to any buttons so i though it crashed and i removed the battery.
No i cannot turn it on at all...
I did the up-home-power trick. ...Played with removing the battery... Nothing,,,
The only think i get is a tiny red blink when i do the key combo.
I also tested a new charger but the only difference is that the red blinking light blinks every several seconds.
Any ideas?
Thanks
T
If the red led flashes very faintly every five seconds or so then you have "sudden death syndrome" - exactly the same happened to me a few months ago. Needed a new main board that was replaced free under warranty.

well is your phone under warranty , if yes let samsung handle it and make sure they provide you the f7 chip or the latest board which is free from sds and better be on a 4.1.2 rom and if you would like to do it yourself rather i would suggest there is no issues but if other things go wrong then u spend extra $$.
I had usb flex bad and they rectified it at sc but on booting up they damage my network reception wire so again they put a new one.
So the moral of the story is if free under samsung warratty let them do it it will hardly take 4hrs as per them to return the phone and if a paid repair rather do it yourself but then lies the trouble of getting ur imei and stuff appropriate as i believe a motherboard change will lead to fresh write of imei so its better to get it done by them .

No Don't Try anything It's SDS if your phone is in warranty samsung will replace motherboard free, many updates came but looks like u did not update in 2013 so your firmware ver must be 4.1.1 which is prone to SDS.
Thank you all
Ill update you

[Q] Sprint Galaxy S3 Power Issues

I have a Sprint Galaxy S3, and it randomly started turning off on its own. When trying to turn it back on, most of the time it won't make it past the 'Samsung' logo before it shuts back down. If you click the power button repeatedly, it will turn on to the home screen, but it will only stay on for a few minutes maximum. The phone is completely stock, NOT rooted or modified at all. I thought it was a battery or charger issue, so I bought two new batteries and a new charger, and the same problem persists. I also did a factory reset on it, and it didn't fix the problem. Also if you plug it into the charger, it displays an empty battery logo for a split second, then it disappears. If you let it charge for a few hours, the normal green battery logo will appear, but the problem still persists. I keep it in an otterbox and have never dropped it, and there is no water damage to it. Any ideas on how to fix it or what is going on?
Sounds like the sds / sudden death syndrome... It's a known issue with the gs3. The power button will get stuck and cycle itself on and off.
Their is a way to fix it yourself but much easier to just give it to sprint and get another one.

I just downloaded the Brickbug Check app to see if that's the problem, and the test said that my phone is not being affected by sds. Any other suggestions?

They might. You never know till you try. I've had Techs help me to get a replacement, even out of warranty. But that was a while ago. You could always try to contact Samsung.

No, phone does not turn on at all. No Soft or hard reboot. (voldown, home, power button) is like a dead phone. i already order a replacement but wishing this would turn back on since it was perfect in everything else.
Ok, just for the heck of it, try plugging the phone in with the oem charger for a few hours and see if anything changes..
was the phone rooted ? or just completely stock ? from the looks of it best thing is getting a replacement this is defective they should replace it for free

The phone was stock, not rooted.
This is my second replacement now, i had something like this happened on my first phone. It would freeze and go black while using spotify. This happened to this phone while using spotify connected by bluetooth to my car and it went completly dead. Not saying that spotify is the reason but is weird both phone happened in the same situation (first one didnt died but would freeze and not work until a hard reboot). My first phone was replace because of the hairline scratches from factory and dead pixels. Now this one completly died, i never had a phone died (i have own like 15 flaship phones) lets see how the new replacement works out.
Are you using the same charger for both phones?

Phone working but no picture, screen backlight comes on ok

I had my H815 repaired (main board ) just a few weeks ago. But I lifted it to read a text message earlier and the screen was blank. I thought it maybe needed charging but when I connected the charger it made the connected sound and the charging led came on. I forced a power off and powered it up again. It played the startup music but the screen remained blank. I've tried restarting it several times but although the backlight comes on, there's still no picture.
Can anyone suggest what I can do here rather than sending the phone back to LG again? They're pretty fast with repairs, less than a week for my previous one, but I'd much rather fix it myself if I could. Is it possible a connector has popped off inside or something?

This might seem hard to believe, or maybe it won't, but I lifted the phone last night when going to bed and the screen just started working again. Usually when a complex electronic device stops working it stays not working until it is repaired. But it is still working away without so much as a flicker. I'm totally flummoxed, to be honest.
Then it sounds like a loose connector cable. if it happens again, myself would disassemble it and check and make sure all the ribbons are seated firmly.

Hi,
One of my friends G4 has weird issue...When he switches it on, it starts very normal but freezes after couple of minutes of normal use and only battery pull work to restart.. (Phone do not heat..)
"Strangest part is"...if he connects it to computer or wall charger then he can use it normally...No hangs, no heating and no restart...he tested it like this for several hours even through the night once...without any issue and he still uses it occasionally while connected to power.. (When he removes the usb power, display freezes immediately..)
Any Clue..?.
He tried battery replacement...didn't work..
Swapped display with other G4..same issue.
Any help is highly appreciated...Thanks.
Edit: Model: H818N DS
Tried LP, MM firmwares but same result, currently on Nougat by SezerSimsek
Is there a chances if it is bad USB port or else...?

I gave him a tip yesterday to check if it works by connecting OTG and received a call a while ago as below..
Phone working fine by keeping only OTG adapter in usb port..
How to explain this.. USB Port to be changed..?
Update:
USB port changed but same behavior..I noticed that phone works fine even keeping only usb cable in phone while other end is not connected to power source...never heard of any issue like this in G4/phone..
screen not appear. only charging led displayed
any suggest can i replace screen of LS991 to LS H818 ? I did but phone is working but screen is blank.... only charging led showed.

You can't use the h818 display on other models and vice versa. H818 is special due to double sim and has an own lcd.
