Samsung have said Froyo will be released in late August to Korea, with other markets following shortly after.
?? for what should that post be usefull, Samsung already said that in August a Froyo Update will come, they only confirmed the korean version right now, but that doesn't mean that it won't come for other countries to, in the same time.

It's already been announced, so this thread is pointless.
Yeah, I know that. I'm just making the point that the phone was made with planning to get Froyo as an update by Samsung.
True, but that doesn't mean they will actually release it here. While I am quietly confident we will get it (by hook or by crook) the fact it has 512MB doesn't mean we are guaranteed to get it.

Froyo has been allready confirmed by Samsung to be released in August for the korean market, so I am very confident that the international version of the SGS will get it shortly after.
A pedition for samsung to commit to post-froyo releases on the other hand could be more usefull.

Yes, lets start a petition for 3.0/Gingerbread instead.
2.2 is definitely coming. Samsung doesn't have a choice. They're selling too many of these phones in too many markets not to follow through with their promise this time around. With 300,000 phones sold in Korea, imagine the PR disaster they'd have on their hands.
More than a Froyo release, I'd rather they release the video drivers so we can get custom roms. We should make a petition for that too!
Better to wait 14 days more and have good stable rom than .having installed it full of bugs .Good work takes time .

It is pointless..we are getting new Froyo test firmware every day so far...which means they are working on it...even if everyone in the world pressures them to release it...they can't change the law of physics and program faster then possible...it needs to be thoroughly debugged and make sure no major issues remain.

Well first of all welcome to the forums, I'm so pleased to see 3 apparently brand new members trying out their posting skills on my little thread
Now if posting links and info to every single SGS FW to this date is a bad source then I'm not sure what a good one is.

I think a new firmware is surely coming up , but all the spammers are obviously been created by one person and just keep replying "bad source" etc.
really strange naming they use now, anyway i don't care about it, keep them coming already 2 days without a flash i am getting tired

I think you need to read that again. The firmware identification says i9000, and then he says he ALSO has some i8000 roms. That is, in addition to JP2.

There are a few devs that have had this as early as last weekend - hence having the new 1.77 PRI. There is also a new radio associated with this release. It will begin to be pushed OTA by Sprint tomorrow (9/22) - and that is official.

Dont worry about it, just drop it. There are a few people that get pissed because it happens ALOT and by new people. So some people think they have to be rough so other people see and learn also. I've been around SDX for a bit and jerdog has proven himself to drop some very accurate knowledge when it comes to release dates and inside info from Sprint. He's stated on a few occasions he's some kind of higher level tech for Sprint on the radio and towers end. I trust his info.
Is this going to mean new kernels once it and the source code are released. Im one of the rookies but im thinking the new stock kernel should have great battery life like the one flipz just released and with the fps fix worked in by htc it should be pretty damn good out of the box.
Anybody get marshmallow update yet? Been reading articles that say our update is "immanent". Others say quarter 1 2016.

Hey buddy to answer your question and not be a smart a%# as some of the memebers have chosen to be marshmallow isnt out yet for our note 5, just for future reference you might want to use the search function so you dont get some many sarcastic replys. I am sorry these forums use to be so helpful and kind but seems there is a ton of sarcastic non helpful trolls on the boards. The best guess it probably feb of next year for the at&t note5. I understand it isnt out yet. At the time of my post I read an article that stated the update would be any day now and I also read another saying quarter 1 of 2016. I was just throwing the topic out there for simple discussion. I didnt expect to get blasted like that. Ive posted a couple times on here before and everone was respectful and helpful. Thanks for the kind and respectful reply.
I'm sure we would all be more then helpful if there was something we could help with. Almost every time there is an update some member immediately post that he got it.
