Issues with VR - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask, but anyways, I'd thought I'd give it a shot here. I bought a VR headset. However, on some apps, like Google Cardboard, I'm unable to rotate side to side (yaw). I am still able to rotate the other two directions. This issue also happens when I used VR Player, but it is fixed when I go to its in-app settings and change the orientation provider to Gyroscope (calibrated). In some other apps and sites, like https://vr.chromeexperiments.com/ , it works perfectly. Is there a way to fix this. Any help would be appreciated. Using and HTC One m8 and CM14.1.

[Q] How do I fix Epic 4g Camera?

Hello guys, I just recently rooted my android phone and I installed a custom rom (Nebula 1.0.7) However whenever I use any video messaging app (Yahoo, Qik, and Fring) I notice that my camera is always sideways and I appear the same way towards the other guy. My front camera would always appear to be sideways even if I were to rotate my phone.
I never had this problem before, is there any way to 'mirror' my camera so that it would look upright?
Any help would be very appreciated
Same thing here. I don't think there is a fix for this until we get the official froyo.
Thats quite a shame, I wonder why they can't seem to fix it.
No matter ,its hardly a issue
Yeah I know. It does suck. First time I updated to froyo and saw that I was like wtf? Lol.
Sent from my Evo Killer!!!
I had the same issue running stock DK28. Sometimes it would rotate correctly, others not. I'm sure it will get fixed soon enough!
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Its Screen Rotation Lag.....I believe? I have been trying to fix that for a month or so myself to no avail. Its just a matter of time and a fix will become available. (Froyo/NebulaROM7Sisters-Ext4CWM3)
I think I found the Fix, Download spare parts from the Market. Open it, in the section marked transitions....set that to fast. I just tried it and cleared up all lag for me.

You're. Thinking of something completely different. Its video chat he's. Taklking about
sent from my Epi[demi]c:-D
I use oovoo and it works very well. I know it's a hassle downloading yet another video chat program but it's quite a bit smaller than Yahoo! video and actually works better.
You can video chat from phone to computer, phone to phone, etc.

[Q] Android Revolution HD 4G 7.0.4 Problem

First of all, I apologize if this was answered already, but the dev thread has nearly 7000 pages and i didnt find it in the last 50 I looked through so i thought ill ask directly.
I installed the Revolution HD 7.0.4 onto my HTC Desire HD, and well it works great, thank you developers for making it ^^. However I have two small issues.
1) Is the whenever I try to change sounds for notifications I get com.htc.sdm crashing, it works ok on ringtones, but with the notification ones it dies right away, im not really bothered about fixing this if someone could suggest an App that does the equivalent job. I did trying to do the reset sounds to default HTC i saw in some places, but the problem persists.
2) This one is a bit more irritating one and id like to fix it. The default gallery app seems to be missing entirely, i dont entirely mind using a custom gallery app, however i do use my phone for photos a lot, and the button in the corner of the camera app, the one that should open the gallery, does not respond to custom ones, not the ones i tried at least, so I would like to shove the default gallery app back in so it responds properly, so if anyone could point me to a link for that, i would be extremely grateful.
Sorry once more if these have been asked already, i tried my best to seek out the answer before asking.
Thank you.
Hello all and first of all Happy Birthday Mike.
I have a small problem with the camera crash.
the camera works fine but no video.
When I stop the video, I have a stop message com.android.camera (sudden closure of the camera application).
I'm reinstalled (with a super wipe) but nothing works.
Thank you in advance for your reply.
cordially
nicus
Hello to all.
First of all I want to say that the new version 6.4 is 7.1 is very good, but I noticed several things:
First, the radio version is more efficient than the version 6.X of the 7.X.
Then the camera is still not fixed on version 7.1 for video (I read the 6985 pages of the topic and try everything but nothing works).
I therefore expect the surprise Mike: "There are not much bigger fixed Because something might come in the near future." (Post No. 69783 of the topic).
For I have not yet reaches my 10 posts, I bore you a little here

Has anyone attempted to side load Google Daydream VR on HTC 10?

I have seen Daydream ported to other phones on reddit. I haven't seen a thread for anyone attempting to do this on their HTC 10. I'd like to try Daydream and realize it doesn't have an AMOLED and won't function as ideal as possible but am still curious. Anyone have tips or can give direction to go to try it out?
I've tried it and haven't had luck. I downloaded it from apkmirror and got it, and the VR components installed successfully. The app opens and you can browse around but the moment you click the button to go into VR mode it crashes. I am going to dig around and see if I can figure anything out. What other phones have you seen it ported to? Maybe whatever they did will work on the 10.
I saw a thread for galaxy s7 and nexus 6p. If you can make it work that would be awesome. I suspect it's similar to fulldive in the app store. It notifies it may not work without Google gr8 services installed. However, most everything works fine. I just have issue with playing my own videos.
Here's something to look into. Unfortunately I'm not rooted yet so I can't try.

Lip sync fix ( youtube etc )

Give this a try .. worked for me
1. Enable developer options by going to Settings -> about phone , then tapping Build Number until it says developer options enabled.
2. In Settings go to Developer options, scroll down to Force GPU Rendering and enable it .
3. Reboot ( just to be safe )
Now try the app your having issues with and all being well it works
Hi, I'm considering getting the P2, and the sync issue has been the main reason stopping me so far, so thanks for this and I hope others will be able to chime in and say whether this fix worked for them, as it has for you.
One question: Does the sync issue only occur for streaming sites such as youtube, or does it also occur with videos from the SD card as well? Thanks
I tried the above. The YouTube app is still out of sync for me while the same movie is synced in chrome. I don't see this in the Netflix app though, to me, it seems to be in sync.
Weird is what it is...
I haven't made any changes to developer options. But the issue has gone altogether this morning. It's not a perception thing as the issue was so significant before.
It was only generally an issue for videos over 30fps. I would try disabling GPU rendering again and see if the issue stays 'fixed'. I suspect it is/will be sorted with YouTube app update.
BBC iplayer and UKtv seem to have improved , but RTE player now has sync issue and it didn't before .
YouTube is a strange one, i've tried videos of varying quality and there's no standard format it happens on . Lenovo are blaming the apps as usual , we wont get a straight answer from them that's for sure .
I remember a while back (years) html5 was replacing flash for YouTube videos, although I expect both still exist. Perhaps it is a video format issue rather than a quality issue. Chrome I expect loads as flash video by default not HTML 5. Can any techies confirm this hypothesis?

I may be wrong but i thought chrome did not support flash . you can install flash player but it wont work on chrome
Flash I believe is embedded in chrome, so you don't need to install any flash plugins
Flash isn't developed for Android and hasn't been for years. So there is no support for flash anywhere, unless you manage to install it. I suspect that isn't trivial since the last version was developed for probably gingerbread or a version around there somewhere.
Well that answers that then. The issue isn't related to html5 vs flash
The pc version of chrome has a cut down version of flash built in if memory serves me right .. I'm getting old , memory aint what it used to be
has the Lip sync issues been fixed on Lenovo P2 ?
(UK Three)
Not yet. In my experience it is variable. Some videos it's apparent, others it's less obvious.

I have the UK version of the Lenovo P2 from 3, running stock Android 6.0.1 .
I was halfway through watching a YouTube video(Clare Siobhan) on my P2 and stumbled onto this page on my PC trying to find a fix.
I paused the video, changed the setting then resumed the video(no reboot).
It fixed the audio sync issue!!!. :victory:
I then fully closed YouTube and watched a totally different YouTube video and all is good.
I see this has not worked for everyone but it has for me.
Thank you so much for posting this fix!!! :good:

I just got one from 3 UK. Never noticed the lip sync until now, but yes it's there for sure. I'm on MM still. Plan to try N when my sdcard arrives.
Force GPU for 2D works for me though!
If you want to disable Dev Options after (in case Force GPU didn't work for you), just clear data from 'Settings' app.

Worked fine for me too.
I've got a CN P780, CN Z2 Pro, ROW P1 Turbo and have just received the ROW P2. All seems well so far, came here to look for a root guide/ROM and saw the lip sync issue - all of the above Lenovo models do it on nearly all youtube videos for me. Other apps seem fine though.
Can't imagine the hardware and or software being wrong in all of these models but it seems equally strange that Google can't get it right either

I'm running S233 ROW on my P2 and it fixed the lip sync. Don't need this Dev Options tweak now.
Also mic issue in WhatsApp (3rd party apps in general) seems much improved.

Nokia 8.1 Equaliser

Hi everyone!
I'm having some issue with my 3M Worktunes Connect headphones which I'm using whole day long at work.
The soundquality is pretty poor on my Radio App which I'm listening while working (I'm a Belgian living in Finland so it's the only way).
When I listen to Spotify, I have access to the equaliser and I can fine-tune the sound pretty good but in my radio app I can't get access to it.
I've tried all the available options from the Google Play store but none of them work. At the installation it always says there is already an equaliser installed (Sound FX if I remember correctly).
Does anyone have a solution to this?
I'm not rooted and I'm actually not looking forward to do so.. I bought the Android One phone so I could just sit back and enjoy a clean, smooth running Android without having to stress ?
Thanks in advance!
Okay, maybe my question was not clear or the solution is so simple that nobody feels like sharing it with me ?
I'll survive with crappy sounds I guess...
Thanks anyway for taking the time to read through my problem description.
Greetings, Sam
You could try this app call Neutralizer. It works system-wide.
Just a side note, for the best sound you'll have to take a minute or two to setup it up properly to make full use of it.
Unfortunately I'm unable to add the play store link here.
Hope it works out for you.

Thanks for the suggestion!
I'll give it a try!
Greetings!
Sadly enough it's not working either, just like any other third party equaliser on my Nokia 8.1
Thanks for the effort!
I'm using Poweramp. Works great, but it's not system wide
