Dolphin emulation testing - Xiaomi Mi MIX Themes, Apps, and Mods

I thought it would be nice to get some numbers up here before Nougat comes out.
This way we will already have some data to put up against android N and it's Vulkan support.
Vulkan API is still in it's infancy though, so let's cross our fingers and toes that everything doesn't crash immediatly
I will dedicate the rest of the day to test a slew of games and jot down some results to get the ball rolling.
I'll update OP afterwards.
I will add to the forthcoming list if any of you have some results to share.. Both GC and Wii games are welcome.
If you do, it would be nice if you could include some information (which dev build you are using, settings etc.)
I was a bit quick to say that there were no extra strain in going for 17:9 (as opposed to 16:9) which is true for games that have no issues with this hack.
I do realise there are some games that do not like streching beyond widescreen.
After testing for a while now, it seems at least most games can handle the 16:9 hack. I have therefore also tried "force 16:9" in native resolution.
Tested on 5.0-2134, settings changed are aspect ratio set to "stretch to screen" (or force 16:9) and native resolution 1x and 3x.
-The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
1x: From 18-30fps depending on area. In 16:9 I'm getting the same numbers.
3x: 3-4fps at worst, usually hovers around 12-14fps outside (18-20 at sea). 24-30 inside houses
-Metroid Prime
1x: Between 28/30 and 42fps. Not enjoyable. The same in 16:9.
3x: From 12/13 - 24/30fps
-Bomberman Generation
1x: Solid 50fps. Menus / pause screen does not show. Perfectly playable. Since it runs fine there is nothing to gain by switching to 16:9.
3x: 29-32fps. Not great, but not that much to gain visually, so much better off running at native resolution.
-Luigi's Mansion
1x: Stays mostly @ 30fps. Lightning and some stuttering can bring it down to 26fps. Cutscenes @ solid 60fps. Same with 16:9.
3x: 15-17, depending on room can come up to 22-24fps. Cutscenes halved and slow @ 30fps.
Luigi's flashlight beacon and the poltergust suction have flat colors. Gonna try some more settings here and see if it changes anything.
-NBA Street 3
1x: Between 18-25fps. Same in 16:9.
3x: 15-19fps
-Donald Duck Phantomias PK
1x: Swings wildly between 26-42fps. 31-48fps in 16:9.
3x: 12/13 and often falls down to 9fps.
-007 From Russia With Love
1x: 8fps. In 16:9 anything from 10/12 to 22 depending on how busy the scene is.
3x: Same as native, rarely over 8fps.
-F-Zero GX
1x: 4-8fps ingame, but getting alot of panic toasts. This one is struggeling hard and I can't get past the startline as it just automatically retires. 16:9, double the speed (16fps) but same issues.
3x: Why bother
-Doshin The Giant
1x: 30fps, can drop a couple of frames at times but fairly stable. In 16:9 between 37 and 40fps.
3x: Around 20fps, can vary from 16-23fps.
These numbers are not really accurate, since the trees are not loading, which in turn means you can't progress in the game at all. I just had to test this one, as this is one of those odd games I actually owned back in the day.
-The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures
1x: 45-49fps. Works pretty good, but sound has some stutters. Ruins the experience a bit. If you run this in 4:3 or force 16:9 than it is perfect. Go play this now
3x: 24-27fps
I have much more to try out, but I thought I would have more time to sit down with this the last few days.
Was also halted quite a bit when Sixaxis did not want to play ball. Would connect and I give no errors. It would work great everywhere in android, even in Dolphin.
When I ran a game though, nothing would register. Had never experienced that in an emu before. No solution other than to reinstall Sixaxis and remap buttons to Dolphin.
Will update with many more when I get the time.

I think I made a comment about this on a thread I made some where else, I hope there's a solution for this phone so far it crashes when try to open, if you manage to make it work I'll be awesome. keep us posted thanks

You mean dolphin crashes upon opening? Hmm not experiencing that, although on some builds that has happened when exiting a game.
Wind waker for example (gc version) is getting close now. So I am really hoping Vulkan can give a nice boost. In "1080p" (3 x native resolution) I'm getting up to 26-30fps inside houses and such, but it is not reliable, and can fall down to 10-12 when panning around open areas, even 3-4 in the worst areas if you have an open space cluttered with stuff and lots of grass. Even though grass seems like the biggest killer, in some areas it doesn't have that much of an effect. Each game have their own weird framedrops on their respective platforms, so one can easily assume it's no better when it is being emulated.
Running it in it's native resolution, you never fall below 18fps, and can pretty much be played through to the end (unless there are some game breaking glitches or crashes that arises). It's not entirely comfy just yet.
I don't really get any noticeable drops by going from 4:3 to forced 16:9 either (the same with 16:9 and stretched to screen i.e. 17:9).
Therefore to not add too many variables here I'm trying most games now in 17:9, 1x and 3x native resolution. Everything else is ticked off for speed. No need to try with anti aliasing etc, it will most likely just make most games crumble down to slideshows.
I will only later tinker more with games that are simpler and closer to perfection. My nexus 9 can't keep up with this powerhouse:laugh:
It's all about those damn drivers though.
But there is no magic here. You just need the apk and uncorrupted iso's and you should be golden. Have you tried different builds?

awesome let us know when you get it working good enough to be playable and you'll get lots of friends, thanks for your hard work and good luck to you and hopefully to all of us. thanks

Maybe I'm reading into your post wrong, but I'm not fixing or modding anything. Just testing so we have something we can use to isolate improvements when we switch to Vulkan. I'm sorry I've not posted anything yet. Had three birthdays the last days, incl. my own. But have gone through some games, and will do some more tomorrow afternoon. I'll make sure to post my findings then.

oh. ok thanks thogh for doing it.

Super
Super Mario Bros Wii,super Mario Galaxy,Mario tennis,DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3,Mario Sunshine,Double Dash, smash bros if can test all of these in the default resolution

Dolphin 5.0-2699 (fastest version for Xiaomi Mi Mix)
Mario Power Tennis
1X - 20 - 50 fps during gameplay
- Usually hovers around 30fps during gameplay 1/2 speed
Super Mario Sunshine
1X - 15 - 30fps
Too slow to be enjoyable but looks great
Tried boosting by overclock but it seems to hover at 18fps in most areas
Super Smash Bros Melee
1X - 25 - 55 fps
1vs 1 is almost always running at 50 -55fps
1vs 4 drops to around 30 , playable but slow
Mario Kart Double Dash
Graphic issues prevent me from running this one at all, everything is greyed out and there's no point running it at all
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
Run this one at overclock 35%
1X - 45 - 60 fps
By far the most playable , in fact I've almost beaten this game on the Mi Mix alone.
Almost no slowdown , drops to 45 during battle transition but bumps back up to 50+ in no time.

[Q] Best FPS for the Xperia Play?

Title basically says it.
I am wondering what people think is the best first person shooter for this phone (considering control scheme etc).
I have of course done a few searches but I would value some up to date opinions as games get updated, controls gets changed etc.
My vote goes out to "Bad Company 2". The graphics are really good and the controls are good too, ones you get the hang of it Try it out yourself!

Zeus Arena is an amazing port of quake 3 with crazy good graphics (for the xperia) and fast gameplay with decent analog stick controls....only problem is theres no mods for it out really so you have to play deathmatch online or against cpu....
i hope they release single player total conversion mods
in terms of slickest and most responsive and most accurate controls, it's Rainbow Six Shadow Vanguard. it has a good storyline, too. though it's some kind of a remake of the very first rainbow six game.
Bad Company 2

I second that. The EA games seem to have the controls on Xperia configured right. Gameloft has some great games. It just seems that the controls are not as intuitive .

unfortunately there have been at least 25 attempts at single player mods for about 9 years (i know cuz i searched the net for about 12 hours strait to find some) and NONE of them have ever gotten past the third level or so (not to mention the way the game engine works {cpu characters run rapidly around the entire course picking up power ups} with no successful tools to fix this) besides i prefer quake 2. course i own copies of quake 1, 2, and 3 arena and play quake 2 the most . cuz i don't like deathmatch style games
Are you people INSANE?! Bad Company 2 is the best example of the WORST controls! It's impossible to place your finger dead-center without a real stick the returns to center and, therefore, placing your finger anywhere on the touchpad area causes your aim to jump and spin before you can compensat. Furthermore, the only way to "return to center" properly is to let go, which causes you to keep jumping all over the place when you try to adjust your aim. The best I've found BY FAR is Dead Space because it treats it like a touchpad/touchscreen: When you stop, it stops. When you move faster, it moves faster (nothing to do with distance from center). When you touch but don't move, your aim stays put. THAT IS THE WAY TO DO IT, PEOPLE!
Shadowgun works really well with analog touchpads.
Try it out.

Lies. Everyone who knows better complains about it. I bought it on my Xperia PLAY but had to finish it on my brother's HP TouchPad because it was infinitely more playable WITHOUT the analog touchpads. That is a complete failure if they make a game LESS playable.

I just loaded it up from my Titanium Backup archive. It says "Checking for Updates" when I start the game but it does not update. The controls do feel better than the last time I recall, but it definitely isn't like Dead Space. I guess I have the old version then.

Controls are perfect since the update
"Best" is always gonna be subjective.
ShadowGun certainly was unplayable post-update, but now it's definitely on-par with Dead Space. What's even crazier is that it's original simulated analog has been improved too! AND IT FEELS NICE TO USE. Everyone's been colossally failing at making the Xperia PLAY touch-pads work properly without swipe, and ShadowGun showed 'em all up with one update.
Personally, I've found the following to be nice for controls:
• Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (It feels weird at first, but 5 minutes after it became very nice)
• N.O.V.A. 2
• Modern Combat 2 (version 3.3.9 and before only, the new versions WRECKED it)
• Rainbow Six: Shadow Vanguard
• Modern Combat 3 (I had to tone down the sensitivity just a notch, but then it was great even without auto-aim)
Still though... Gameloft needs to take all their Xperia PLAY games (ESPECIALLY Splinter Cell Conviction) back to R&D and tweak them until they're up to the standards of Dead Space/ShadowGun.

OK, I loaded my Titanium Backup and then checked Market for an update and found none so I was prepared to call "BS!" until I DLed the expansion pack content and saw that it was included with the new game data and not an actual update. I hadn't downloaded it because I didn't have WiFi convenient to me.
Anyway, I still hesitate to call it "perfect." Dead Space had restricted corridors where Shadowgun is a bit more open and the tiny touch area on the pads does not give you enough range of motion to target with fine detail unless you make the aim sensitivity maddeningly low. Also, holding your aim and following something while keeping your aim steady seems a bit harder than it should be. Regardless, it is now "Dead Space" style and it is fixed as far as I am concerned.
Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation.
It's perfect. It's based on Modern Warfare series, so see the video below, it has great MULTIPLAYER. so enjoy this.

Favourite game and app on the Galaxy S2?

Okay, so I just spent half an hour looking through the Android Market at the top games and apps, and haven't really seen anything that catches my eye!
Now, maybe it's just me, and I'm being a little too fussy, but I really don't seem to be able to find a good, highly addictive long term game.
Current Games - Mark /10:
Doodle Jump - 6
Blood and Glory - 7
Cut the rope - 4
Enchanted Realm - 6
Fieldrunners - 8
Flight Control - 4
Fruit Ninja - 5
Great Little War Game - 6
Gun Bros - 5
Tap Tap 4 - 5
Zynga poker - 2
Unblock Me - 9
As for interesting apps... I can't find anything :/
Any help and advice would be nice?
Thanks in advance!
I have been searching for that game you are looking for for over a year now and haven''t found anything myself yet.
Gun Bros was fun in the beginning, but Glu Mobile only wants to milk your wallet a bit more (that goes for all of their games, mind you!). All fine with me, but the game strats to drag after a few months of play and becomes tedious. It levels too slowly, or, to put it differently, the weapons are too expensive (and the expensive one do not even live up to expectation). I abandoned it after like three months or so.
I like the ""Choice of ..." series very much -- I'm currently playing Broadsides and Romance. I'm not originally into RPGs, but this is kinda fun. It more or less makes the story more interesting if you have influence on the outcomes, even if it sometimes is clear the difference is minor because the story picks up again the same way it did the last few times. Nice time-waster, though.
Random Mahjong for the sleepless hours (I use it with Screen Filter to dampen the screen brightness a bit, primarily to soothe my eyes since I have it plugged it when I''m in bed anyway).
Flight Control: meh. Fun in the first few levels, but tedious after a while.
Plants vs. Zombies: very funny, like the humor. Have played it on the PC -- great fun -- an enjoy it on the Android platform. Wish I could play it on a bigger screen, though: it wouldn't be the first time I scr**ed up on plant placement.
Virtual City: instant buy. Like it very much, but haven't been playing lately due to real life taking over for a bit. Have the Sandbox Edition installed as well, but haven't played it yet for the same reasons.
Age of Wind: likeable, and fun, but the steering mode annoyed me and I was put to the bottom of the sea very fast. I find the economics unclear and " steep".
Apparatus: reputed to be great fun. Installed, but not played yet.
Dead Space: looked like a winner (oh, the visuals! : D ), but the controls annoyed me supremely. Happily uninstalled.
Guerilla Bob: fun, but not for a the long-term you are apparently looking for. I liked it though, but again, way too short.
Robo Defense: immensely fun, and you can keep experimenting on different lay-outs and tower compositions. Achievements provide that little extra oomph of stimulus to go on and on and on. Had to wrestle myself away from this one for sheer terror of social dysfunction.
Stupid Zombies: fun, and a ''thinker'', but very hard on higher levels, which might be a put-off if you're a casual gamer.
Reckless Getaway: fun, but it turns out I'm a crappy virtual driver (luckily not so in real life -- that doesn't really fit with a motorcycle, now, doesn't it ; )
Cut the Rope: quite possibly a killer game for most of us. Thinking fast is key here, I like it very much. (I have to admit though that my 3.5 year-old son is about as good as I am. But he is astonishingly good for a 3 yo, ROFLOL!)
Great Little War Game: hard one, this one. Liked it, but was not 'steadfast' and sometimes was unclear what consequences movement would have. There is only an inconsequential und relatively uninformative tutorial, so you're left to fend for your own.
Not played (extensively): UNO, Siegecraft, Virtual City Sandbox Edition.
Hope that helps a bit.

If your looking for a long term game to play like op on laptop or pc like fifa or warcraft or aion or need for speed there ar none to few...the gameplay on android device is limited by your own taist ,like marty allready told @ some game's controls ar badass.
Deadspace and Nova2 hd ar the taste for eyes but a hate for controls
Eart and Ledgend and Samurai2 and Third blade free ar for rpg less graphical lust for eyes but controls ar way better
Sleepy Jack and Cordy and sonic4 and windup kight and snowpro ar good/oke but also simple gameplay
And for app's depend on what your using your phone for howe old you ar and where you live
I am a plumber/central heating and work on new and renovation buildingsite's so for my work i use extreme alarm clock to set alarm ,tiny flashlight for in the dark and calculator for..and business calander and fm radio
For fun i use plume for twitter ,friendcaster pro for facebook ,skype and chaton to talk and text with home or friends and some dutch app's.
For practical use a have 1tap cleaner ,documents to go ,advanced task killer ,Dr.web(for security) ,igo8 to not get lost here in europe ,my data manager for 3g ,total recall for sgs2 to record my call's ,tunein radio when i am home over wifi ,weather and toggle widget ,weather pro ,shopsavvy as barcode scanner while shopping ,dish pointer for when i am on grand prix sidecarcross camping and having truble with my satelite reciver to watch tv.
Greats mike
I will end this noooow! Cartoon wars! Its suuuuuuuuuper addictive!! . Please try it.

A few I like
Windup knight
World of Goo
Backstab
Nova 2
Dungeon hunter 2
Hero of Sparta
They are all battery killer though (especially the gameloft games), so take that into consideration when you still have half a day to go before recharge.

Hey guys been searching around and haven't found a post like mine so don't get mad if its already posted please. Thanks!
Anyways, is hard core gaming on the note 2 bad? I've got need for speed as well as some other games but I don't want to mess up or slow down my beautiful phone. Thanks!

Most games will be fine. NFS, GTA, and other AAA titles will run 100% smooth.
I've found Bloons TD5 to completely turn the phone into molasses.

As someone who uses his devices for gaming extensively, I can assure you that gaming on your Note 2 would be a great experiance. I have tried almost every high end game in the market on N7100, and till now have not experianced any sort of lag or any other problems. NOVA 2,3, Shadowgun, GTA Vice City Modern Combat 2,3, NFS Most Wanted, Dead Space, Backstab, Dead Trigger, BIA2, Virtua Tennis etc and originally PC games like Max Payne and GTA 3 etc all run very smoothly. The only problem I have yet had is with MC 4, but I think it's only because of a script I am running and not the fault of the device. I have also heard that there are problems with Asphalt 7 but as I had played it a lot on my Tab 2 I am not really interested in downloading it again.
My theory is that one shouldn't hold the most powerful mobile device in the world in his hand if he has no interests in gaming By the time I am done with this device I will have had my money's worth

As said above, all games I have played run amazing on the N2. It's a great gaming 'phablet'. I have heard Asphalt 7 and MC4 are running a tad slow, but MC4 is having this issue on other high end phones as well. I will try MC4 very soon...
the two main games ive got on my note 2 are wild blood and nfs most wanted.
with nfs most wanted, the framerates are much more playable compared to my nexus 7. however, its still note quite at 60fps. it generally depends on the amount of action, but early game, it sticks pretty close to 60fps. late game, when you start having lots of high speed cars on screen, along with police in corvettes and road blocks, i've seen it drop down to 25fps. its still far more playable compared to my nexus 7 (nexus 7 drops to around 7-15fps around some of these parts), but its still a notable drop.
that being said, i do come from a PC gaming background, and i've got my computer set up so it never drops below 60fps at max settings, which is the only reason why i notice most of the drops and stutters. for most people, it will probably still seem really slow.
as for wild blood, havent played it much, but it seems to run at a fairly low framerate (lower compared to nfs mw anyhow). still playable though.
compared to my note 1 and nexus 7 though, the note 2 is a much better device. much more oomph, a lot less stutter, a lot less lag, much more responsive overall.

I have nfs just to test out this phone and honestly I was totally expecting it to run 100% smoothly considering the ranting and raving of this device, not to mention the heavy dollar amount for a 16 gig phone. I am thoroughly impressed with it. Seems to me that gameloft is the only company making games that can really test the phone so they can expect some profit now that they have something that works with their games. Only thing I don't like about the phone is not the largeness but rather the fact that everything downloaded goes straight to the internal memory, including picture downloads etc. So I have to go to the computer and manually transport it to the sd card but that's a small drawback for me.

if youre talking about picture downloads from the browser, go into the browser, settings, advanced, and change the default storage.
you can also set the camera to default storage to the memory card, but this only works for individual snaps. burst snaps will save to internal memory by default (to avoid slow memory cards slowing down the burst rate), and you'll have to move them later.
MC4 runs flawless on my device.

You didn't mention the goodness of the battery life. After playing 1 hour of NFS MW and wi-fi on, I still managed to to get 7 hours screen-on time. Amazing!

[Q] To tab pro 8.4 users.

I'm thinking about getting a tab pro 8.4 WiFi only (320) and have a few questions.
1-just how laggy is touchwiz. This is my first samsung and have no experience with touchwiz. Does the general ui lag when switching between homescreen pages or moving through apps.
2- does resolution greatly affect the graphic performance. My existing phone (xperia P) can't handle heavy game's or websites. I need to know if the gpu is any good or not. Does it run dead trigger 2 on ultra high smoothly or asphalt 8 maxed out smoothly?
I need something to last me a few years.
3- is web browsing smooth?
4- is 2 gb ram sufficient? Are there too many redraws?
5- how bad are the WiFi signal drops. I live in a small apartment so this does not matter much.
6- any other flaws I should be worried about? Over heating etc.
7- is the contrast ratio acceptable? Blacks dark enough?
I couldn't find conclusive answers to these on the web and hopefully this will help future buyers. (including me )

Have had the 8.4 pro for a couple months now and I can attest to the fact that it is a nice tablet. Screen is fantastic and performance is smooth. Gets great wifi signal in my house which has concrete walls that make it difficult to get signal for most devices. Only real problem I have with it is the android experience overall on the tablet. Many apps display stretched versions of phone apps (twitter, mlb at bat, etc) and web browsing could be better.

Could you do me a flavour?
Download asphalt 8 and run it on the maximum graphical settings and tell me if it is smooth enough.

Its not the kind of thing where it locks up the device for a significant amount of time (seconds or even 1 second) but just a lack of general fluidity (split seconds of lag) within TouchWiz itself (not within 3rd party apps) when swiping through home screens, going back and forth to app drawer, etc. Really not the type of thing we should be seeing at this point with higher-end Android devices. So while disappointing, many folks are probably fine with it. Me on the other hand, got tired of it after a couple months, rooted and flashed a CM-based custom ROM, and much happier with the fluidity now.

If you are asking such questions about gaming and RAM, I have trouble believing you will be satisfied with any device for a "few" years. Maybe 2 years tops. But really the best you can do is by the best tablet you can afford (and the Pro 8.4 is a great contender) and hope for the best in terms of it being "future proof".
I'm not much of a gamer, so I can't help you much here, unfortunately.

I have had no issue with WiFi. The Pro 8.4 has as good or slightly better WiFi reception as other Android devices I've used. I use my Pro 8.4 on my back porch, with my WiFi router being in the front of the house and on the 2nd floor.

I had a minor issue with the battery meter sometimes not displaying properly after a charge. It would still read something like 50 or 60% when I had been charging it for long enough to be full. After a reboot, it would read 100%. Happened fairly occasionally, maybe once a week or a couple times a week. Others have noted similar issues.
This seems to be software based, as I haven't encountered this on my current CM ROM. And possibly this has been fixed in newer stock software.
Nothing else I've noticed since owning the tablet since April.

Subjective. I'm used to LCDs, so the blacks are dark enough to me, and the colors look realistically vivid. If you are coming from AMOLED, you might feel differently. An LCD will never going to meet the infinite contrast ratio of AMOLED.
@redpoint73
Thankyou.
I should have termed it better. I didn't mean lag but delay and lack of fluidness. You phrased it perfectly.
Like you said, other than the tegra k1 sheild I doubt that any device is "future proof". What I meant was that if it is capable of running modern games maxed out. Obviously better games with higher demands will come but for the moment this will probably be sufficient. What worries me is the resolution. It's far greater than 1080p and I was worried if the adreno could handle games as they grew more demanding.
The contrast on my xperia P is terrible ( whites are 900 nits. Figure the blacks.) and at the moment any display would look darker. As this is my first tablet I didn't have anything good to compare it to (other than an android 1.5 tablet ). So I hoped that someone with past experience could tell me better.

"Lag" is as good a term of it as any. I just wanted to clarify to anyone that has not witnessed it firsthand, it just a lack of fluidity, and not like you are staring at screens loading for seconds on end, or anything like that.
@redpoint73
I pretty much expected that. One more question. How long does is take for the screen to turn on after pressing the power button?
My father owns a galaxy s3 and turning on the screen takes about 2 seconds. On my xperia P it's instant. I'm guessing it's something to do with touchwiz.

Actually seemed pretty instantaneous on TouchWiz. I've been on CM for a few weeks now, so that's just by memory. Actually, its a bit slower on CM, but still not 2 seconds. Maybe 1 second.

1) The first TW was soo laggy but it did two updates and seems okay now but I still plan to root/get CM11
3) Web browsing seems fine to me
4) Screen is fine - probably comparing to Super AMOLED like on the Tab S it may not be as good but it's as good as any other tablet out there if not better with the high screen res

How about gaming. Does it run asphalt 8 on ultra high smoothly?

Sky force reloaded

Hello Everyone,
Are there any of you who play Sky Force Reloaded frequently? Is it smooth or laggy? I play the crap out of it and now that there is a lot happening on the screen at any given moment it has started to drop in frames fairly badly. This game plays very well on other phones but its still not buttery smooth like the original Sky Force. So I'm thinking part of it is that the game needs some optimizing.
I play it frequently. It's smooth and responsive. Np lackin frames, only sometimes my fingers are too slow [emoji14] BTW this game difficult mode is quite insane, too much of being frustrated ://

If you dont mind can you download the original Sky Force 2014 and compare the smoothness and let me know what you think. Cause for me the original is nothing shy of buttery smooth but thats not exactly the case for reloaded. It could be the game needs optimizing, I'm not sure
Oryginal one from 2014 is indeed more smooth comparin to reloaded version. I noticed reloaded is twice as bigger data than 2014 version.

Yup, its definitely a bigger game with more to it, which leads me to believe it needs optimizing. They also just put out a big update not long ago. Do you play any other graphics intensive games? This is probably the most intensive one I play
I have also riptide 2, warhammer, assassin's creed, oddworth, Thor, NFS, rise of God etc but they are not so immersive cause controls are not so playable on little touch screen

I agree, I tend to stray from on screen control games. I picked up this awesome controller I can easily recommend (http://www.nes30.com/)
I just played a couple racing games and those are buttery smooth. Traffic rider is fun. The battery life on this phone actually makes me want to play games now lol

it seems since your last device is note 4 you tend to compare 10 with note4 always....
you do know that samsung devices are tuned for different purposes where in htc10 isn't factory tuned but instead gave the choice to users tune it the way they want to...
and believe me gpu 530 rips out 420 by so far... i believe its your feeling than an actual fact including the screen goes off lock in a second instead of half a second as your note 4 does....
there is no way note 4 can outperform htc 10 unless you are messing up something in htc10....
