LineageOS for Oneplus One and problem with wifi and HDR in camera. - LineageOS Questions & Answers

Hello everyone.
I have 2 problems with LineageOS on Oneplus One.
First HDR does not work properly. I can not do a photo with HDR enabled.
My another problem is with WIFI. Many times I have lost connection to internet without report, and I must reconnect manually. My phone is connected to router but without internet. It is very annoying problem for me.
I fashed:
lineage-14.1-20170206-nightly-bullhead-signed.zip,
Gapps Android 7.1/Lineage os ARM Pico ( other did not work because of low free space of disk. I have 50 gb free. Weird )
Latest Super Su.zip
I flashed them all at once. Was it good idea? Or I should flash them separately ?
Of course I did clean wipe before installation and Wipe Dalvik, cache after installation.
Thanks for replies

I have the same problem with the wifi... i don't know if it is a firmware / modem problem... i have this version: "2015_05-15_DI.3.0.c6-00241"
The camera problem its reported and with be resolved in the future...

And another problem. My phone has not been detected by computer. I can not transfer music
Any idea to solve it? There is an icon "eject MTTP" but no folder with phone on my computer.
File transfer is not working, but photo is working. Weird
I solved problem with the wifi. Just instal the latest room
Hi.
I don't why this worked for me or if it might even work for you, but what I did was locate the following file 'wpdmtp' in C:\Windows\INF.
I right-clicked on it and updated it.
Suddenly, my PC recognised my Lumia 535, even though if I try to update the driver I still get the same error.
Well, as long as my phone shows up, I don't really care. Hope that helps.

HTC Desire freezes when connecting to mobile internet

Hi!
I hope anyone can help me with the only problem I have with my Desire.
My Desire is PVT1
Radio Version: 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27
I'm running VJ CM 10.1 JB 4.2.2 v.6.0 ROM but the problem with freezing phone I got with every ROM if I remember correctly.
When I'm connecting to mobile internet (it mostly occurs with 2G, but the quality of the signal doesn't matter), the phone freezes. I always have to pull the battery. I tried the following:
- If I'm starting the phone with mobile internet connection (to 2G) on, it will freeze in ca. 9 of 10 cases immediately if I don't wait a few minutes before performing any action (The display will stay on or - in some case - dim, but shows no response to pressing buttons)
- If I'm starting the phone without mobile internet connection everything is fine.
- If I'm starting the phone with WiFi there're also no issues.
- If I'm starting the phone without mobile internet connection, wait a few minutes, then turn it on and wait again a few minutes, it'll be okay. But if the phone goes in standby mode (the screen turns off) it'll freeze in ca. 6 of 10 cases (The display will not react when I press the power button, only the hardware keys are glowing)
The problem seems to persist only with 2G. If I'm connected to HSDPA it won't freeze, same thing for WiFi.
Also, I think it's worse if I choose "only 2G" instead of "2G/3G".
Does anyone knows that problem and could help me? That would be really nice because it's very annoying to pull the battery 10 times a day, sometimes actually 5 times in a row
Thanks!
PS: I read that it's possibly related to some SD cards. The problem occured with stock SD card (SanDisk 4 GB Class 2) and with my new (few days old) SanDisk Ultra Micro SDHC 8GB Class 6 card.
And: I didn't have the problem when my Desire was stock and unrooted.
Edit: I tried the whole day with 2G connection and different system settings (don't know, it's a desperate try ). Since I unchecked the Location access it seems better, but freezes during screen off are still there! If I leave my phone for about 30 minutes when connected to 2G, it won't turn on again - battery pull, reboot. Annoying. No problems with WiFi though...
Please anybody help ._.
Edit 2: I'm on VJ v.6.1 now but still have this problem.
*push* Does nobody have a solution or some methodes I should try?
Don't know if it will resolve your problem but you can try to update your radio to the latest (use the mirrors link)
I suggest you to use this method:
Connect your phone to the computer and reboot the phone to Fastboot.
Extract the radio.img from the Zip file.
Then in your terminal (on the computer) issue the following command: fastboot flash radio radio.img
Phone will restart a couple of times, and there you should have your new radio.

Done, but unfortunately the problem remains.
Any other ideas?
Strange...
1) Have you done a full wipe before flashing the rom ?
2) Can you make a logcat via adb (adb logcat > file.txt) while the phone is frozen or not ? (make sure that usb debugging is activated)
I'm not an expert in this but maybe that might give us a lead.

Yes, I did a full wipe.
Yesterday, I generated a logcat via "Catlog" from Play Store.
Don't know if it'll help, it's in the attachment.
Thanks for helping
Another 2 things that you could test:
- If your phone is unlocked, test it with a sim card from another operator.
- Check your APNs and compare them with the configuration provided by your operator.

I try but not solutions yet ...
APN-Settings are correct. I'll try with another SIM card when I found one Most people use micro SIM nowadays so it could take some while until I can test it.
Edit: Today I flashed another HTC Desire from a friend of mine. It doesn't have the problem with edge. I also tried various SD-cards. No problem with mobile Internet. So I guess it's a problem with my hardware.
Hi, I got news.
Yesterday, I erased the ext-partition of the 4gb sd card which came along with the device. I installed the AOKP version of JB (from Vijendrahs) and tried the 2G-network. No problems, no freezes!
I then thought the problems may occur because I aligned my partitions on my newer 8gb card with CWM. So I used GParted and flashed the JB 4.2.2 CM 10.1 v. 6.3 from VJ.
But it freezes again on 2G.
Can anybody figure out where the problem is. A hardware defect isn't possible because on AOKP ROM without partitions it worked fine.
Thanks!

this ist most probably a problem of the SD card, I had the same problems and a new SD card fixed it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1393132

Wi-Fi completely broken.

What happened/is happening:
Wi-Fi won't turn on. This includes anything that uses it. (Tethering, normal connection to routers)
The settings application will try to turn it on, but it just sits there until I enter another menu or back out and re-enter, at which point it shows it as off. Built-in wifi tethering menu in the same place says 'Error' and the checkbox is disabled.
USB tethering still works.
OpenVPN and its tun0 device still works.
Bluetooth... I don't use it, so I don't know.
What I've done:
I tried getting a logcat but I don't have any computers that I have administrative access to install the HTC drivers on, I wasn't able to.
I did some searching, and some frantic listing of directories, and comparing them to a friend's G2, and I found something.
`ls /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/` (same with /proc/sys/net/ipv4/conf/) gives me a list of directories corresponding to devices from `iwconfig`, but none with the names of eth0, wlan0, or wl10. List of devices from iwconfig:
lo, gannet0, dummy0, ifb0 ifb1, rmnet0, rmnet1, rmnet2, usb0, sit0, and ip6tnl0
Roughly the same list in /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/ (and /proc/sys/net/ipv4/conf/)
I've also flashed CM10.1 (Flinny's Andromadus build 25) and CyanogenMod 7.2.0 stable from their wiki. I started from 10.1, reflashed it, then flashed 7.2.0. No change.
I used CWM Recovery to format my /system partition and restore CM7.2.0 Stable, no change.
I have searched for about two weeks, and I've come up with nothing, short of getting a new phone, or getting some kind of backup of the files. I need a solution, because having Wi-Fi working is pretty important right now.
Had an issue like this way back when once and a clean wipe (including efs partition) and reinstalling ROM fixed it. Toward the top of this thread you'll find a link to the superwipe tool I'm talking about
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43195539
If this doesn't work then digging through the old threads for a fix should turn something up as I've seen many WiFi error threads over the years.
Oh and a logcat should help, just get an app from play store if you have no PC to use

Worked great! Thanks! It kinda wiped my data partition though, so I had to spend an hour queuing downloads on the Play Store. Better than having broken Wi-Fi.

Not fixed, actually. I thought it had worked, but last night when I decided to power on my computer and start tethering to it, it was broken again. I'm getting kinda tired of putting up with this phone.

[SOLVED][HELP] WiFi not working (I tried almost everything !)

Hello everybody !
Ok, I am use to not ask any help, and to find out by myself. But I have to admit I don't have any idea remaining to solve this problem.
Let me explain you the situation :
I explain everything with details to not waste your time when you will help me !
When I first bought my Zenfone, everything worked properly. Then, I decided to flash a Custom ROM (to remove the bloatware, and to get the others optimizations). So what I did :
- I unlocked the bootloader,
- I flashed TWRP,
- I installed my custom ROM (SuperZen R15, super clean install) => at this moment, everything is working perfectly,
- I installed a custom Kernel (ProjectT, v56) by fastboot => here we are, the problem just appeared.
At this moment, the WiFi issues appear. When I boot the phone, I can turn on the WiFi (in most cases), then, WiFi just turn off. It is impossible to activate it again. In the best case, I can switch on/off the WiFi, but as soon as I download something, the WiFi just turn off immediately. Often, I just don't detect any network. In the worse case, it is impossible to activate again the WiFi, the ON/OFF button is grey.
So here is what I tried to get it back :
1) put the standard kernel with my TWRP backup => no success
2) flash another ROM (CM12, Paranoid Android, Barebone,...etc) => no success
3) flash my whole TWRP backup (system + kernel) => no success
4) flash the official Asus ROM (recovery.img, system.img, boot.img, droidboot.img) => no success
At the moment, I started thinking that maybe the WiFi just "forgot" my WPA key. So I modified the build.prop :
5) modification of the build.prop by adding the line ro.securestorage.support=false (instead of "true") => no success
6) flash the last Asus update 2.20.40... => no success.
...
I haven't any idea remaining !So I need your help ! This problem seems very standard, but I just couldn't find any solution yet !
P.S : I almost forgot. I talked about the wiFi signal, but it is exactly the same for the bluetooth signal : working on first boot, then when I use it, it just stop working and disconnect itself, and then, impossible to activate it again (grey button)
=> My last idea was to flash the radio directly by TWRP, but I didn't find any radio files for the zenfone 2...
Many thanks for your help, and thank you for reading everything !!

Try setting your phone as a wifi hotspot. If other devices are able to detect your device, it is a software issue. Or else, you might have to book an appointment with the Asus service center

You're such a genius ! I will try this evening ! Thanks a lot !
Didn't do anything. It's not working. I was thinking my wifi was just broken, but something creepy happened this morning. The Wi-Fi worked again (I downloaded one thing to be sure !) and then... My phone froze, and reboot... Is the devil inside my phone ??
SOLVED ! If someone has the same problem, just flash the stock ROM via ADB Sideload !
Step by step :
1) You go here, and download your version of the stock ROM : http://www.asus.com/fr/Phones/ZenFone_2_ZE551ML/HelpDesk_Download/
2) (If fastboot/adb drivers are installed) Go into your recovery (Advanced in TWRP)
3) Connect the phone to the PC, type WINDOWS + R , enter 'cmd'
4) Go into your firmware directory you just downloaded, and type : adb sideload 'thenameofthefirmwarefile'.zip
5) Wait (a loooong time), and here we go, reboot, and your phone work again.

can you tell me what firmware you used exactly? because i tried to flash the first one, from the asus page.
But it says that i have a newest build and it doesn`t lets me past trough the installing part.
I am also having troubles with my wifi and i would like to fix it
Hello ! I don't remember exactly, I went on a website and selected the right version for my country ! But my problem wasn't solve at all actually... I brought my phone to the store, and they told me my motherboard was just burnt. They changed everything, and now it works like a charm ! Be careful with the custom kernel, I'm pretty sure that's how my phone broke (I'm very careful with batteries,...etc)
Well thanks anyway. I will try to take the phone to te oficial ASUS services from my country but i don´t think they give a new one. I live in Uruguay and this cellphone is not at sale over here
Does sideloading the firmware wipe your apps? Or is every thing still there when its done?

Zenfone 2 Z00AD (Japan) doesnt connect to PC

I'm on a Japanese new phone which was never rooted (but sent to repair twice for bad front speaker/earpiece and motherboard)
It currently on Android version 5.0
Japanese version 2.15.40.13
The Phone doesnt connect to the PC, I've tried normal connection with windows explorer, tried the Asus application.
The phone either appears as empty or appears and then suddenly disappears, on and off. I can't even view the contents let alone copy/move/delete. (from the computer that is)
Is there another option to move files to the computer beside dropbox? which takes up my bandwidth and is kinda slow.
I've seen on ASUS site that there are 3 official 2.20.xxx versions yet my phone doesnt recognize anything when I press the CHECK FOR UPDATE.
Is there a way to update it without rooting ? and without doing a factory reset ?
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I've tried this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtQeVbKT6Zc
But I dont get the Update pop-up.
Also, Do I need to put the next available version, and update in order or just the newest/latest one ?
EDIT 2:
After a while I noticed that it didnt even copy the file to the phone.
When I connect the phone to my PC (windows 10) via USB 2.0 and/or 3.0 a folder called z00ad shows for a few sec. then disappeared.
I tried to several cables and ports.
sometimes it shows as an empty folder and sometimes I can see the folders inside but then it disappears and I get an error message.
I've got developer rights or access by tapping the kernel version.
I've enable the install by third parties option.
I've disabled the lock
disabled the screen off timer
Is it a Windows 10 thingy ? (I got the new Intel Driver for android)
EDIT 3:
Uploaded the file to Dropbox and downloaded on my phone, saved with ES File explorer to main directory, reset the phone, and now its updating. (UL-Z00A-JP-2.20.40.174-user)
When its done I will update for the next update (UL-Z00A-JP-2.20.40.183-user), and then the latest one (UL-Z00A-JP-2.20.40.185-user).
Hope Android 6 will arrive soon and that all of the problems are software related and not hardware...
Only trouble with this phone
EDIT 4:
Stuck on the INSTALLINg sYSTEM UPDATE... screen.
Its been like that for over 10 min. now, the blue progress line is stuck somewhere between the G and S (installinG System)
How long should I wait for it to finish? I saved the update file to the built-in memory, not the SD so speed shouldn't be an issue right ?
If its stuck what should I do ? Turn the phone off? Reset ? will I lose all of my files/photos?!
For this guy the problem solved itself after almost an hour...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/help/stuck-installing-update-t3151529
I will try to give it 2 and see how it goes
EDIT 5:
After almost 2 hours my phone was updated.
Yet still connection problems to the PC.
I'm trying the next Update, maybe it will fix this issue.
I've read online and I can't seem to find a solution.
I've tried different cables and connected to different USB slots but still, either I get no detection, or a detection with empty drive, or detection with external and internal memory but then it quickly disappears. The phone itself still keeps charging so it must be connected properly.
Has anyone else had this problem ? (I also had it while I was on Win 8.1, now win 10)
EDIT 6:
After doing the 3 available updates, manually... for around 6 hours ... I still cant connect the phone to the computer

mi a2 lite crashes and freezes since December 2019 pie update. (benchmark logs)

Hi
Since installing the December 2018 update to Android Pie last week my phone has become unusable. It freezes for 5-10s period all the time while using. Sometime, when it wakes back up again, there is a message on the lock screen that says 'you need to unlock using pattern after reboot' which makes me think the phone is crashing and rebooting itself while the screen stays frozen.
I have done a factory reset twice. In fact, directly after the December 2018 update, the phone got stuck in a boot loop and I had to factory reset then, as well.
Anyway I did some research on here and have run Androbench as people seem to be blaming poor write performance. See image.
Please - what can I do? Roll back to an earlier version of Android? The phone has worked perfectly for months until last week.
Many thanks.
you could try to reflash the latest pie rom with miflashtool. if you tick "flash all expect storage" you wont 't lose any data
download the latest rom from website, extract the image folder with contents inside and add this flashall.bat to the image folder contents, https://1drv.ms/u/s!AqlJY73bUA7rhokx5kWL6MAtXYDRTg . This will completely flash the whole phone without relocking the bootloader. I had exact same issue after using twrp to make a nand, its had something to do with accessing firmware while making backup, i think this will sort your phone out, dont use miflashtool its a total mess. Dont mess with flash order, ppl may say it doesnt matter what order its done, but it does matter. Instructions are, assuming you have adbtools, to use admin cmd prompt to the image folder and type flashall.bat, you need to add adb platformtools to windows system variables path.
Brilliant - thanks for the reply. What you suggest is probably on the limit of my skills and experience, so I have a few questions if that is OK:

Thanks, I will check that platform tools is in the system variables path. Maybe it will become clear, but I can't remember if the rom image needs to be stored on the phone or PC before I start?
Thanks
After fixing itself last time (with a factory reset), my phone's performance has gone absolutely again since the September update. It hangs constantly, takes 10 mins to turn on, and is generally unusable. Memory logs below.
This time nothing I have tried will fix it, I have tried: factory reset from bootloader, miflash to latest rom, using fastboot to flash latest rom, using the modified flash_all.bat from boe323 (thanks for your help last time).
Still the performance is dreadful.
Is there anything else I can try before I throw this phone away?
Thanks anyone for helping
Flash lastest stock (10.0.13.0) with no flash but use: fastboot oem edl , u can search in you tube how to do is easy
Hi, thanks for idea, I did this last night (new memory logs attached)
Still I get the same issues. system UI hangs and crashes basically make the device slow and unusable, especially in Chrome.
Any ideas on what I could do next?

If nothing helps , just use MiFlash , and don't use clear all , use clear all_lock.Relock your bootloader and test if everything is working ok. If it doesn't - then I hope you have warranty. Relocking and unlocking the bootloader is so easy , so you don't have to be worried about nothing. Then you will be sure , if the problem presists with totally stock firnware , then you have only one choice.
thanks - trying this now
Downloaded your app and tested it on my perfectly working device. No problems at all, no hangs, fluid, etc.
I attached the results.
If you flashed stock ROM and the speeds are that horrible... you should check if any apps are causing the hangs. Reboot in SafeMode and check the speeds. If the phone behaves normally in SafeMode, than something you installed/configured is causing the said problems.
The last solution would be... checking the NAND chip, I don't quite know if there are apps that could check the sectors in the NAND memory. Maybe you are experiencing a bad nand/multiple bad sectors slowing down everything... But from my knowledge this shouldn't be a problem in current technology, since Android has auto-trim and bad sectors should be ignored, not affecting performance.
From my experience August update fixed the problems and September brought a system speed-up. I feel the phone even more snappy now.
Thank you for this. My phone is fine in Safe Mode! I didn't think of this, as when I was relfashing the Rom I wasn't installing any additional apps - just the Androbench to check performance (always after checking that the problem was happening).
So, what to do? Does this mean that one of the Stock ROM apps? is causing the issue? How to fix?
Many thanks for your help

Get an app like System Panel 2. Set it to monitor all apps/system activity and check where the hangs comes from. Maybe even AndroBench is the culprit in your case.
Anyway, get a system monitor app that can log all app activity individually and see which app has the most cpu usage and which app has the most disk usage.
But by the fact that your phone is running extremely slow after reflash, I suspect the back-up/restore system. Maybe it downloads some corrupt data and hangs the system. If that is the case, a new Google Account may fix the problem. Start fresh.
OMG I took the memory card out and everything is working fantastic again
