HTC Desire 530 - Searching for an app to record phone conversations - HTC Desire 530 Questions & Answers

I need assistance with locating an app to record both sides of the phone conversations with my – Desire 530 ………. HTC 2PST2, HTC Sense version: 7.0_g, Provider: T-Mobile USA, Android version: 6.0.1 “Marshmallow”
I had the capability of recording phone conversations with apps in the past (prior to Nov 2016) with no problem. I have attempted to install many apps over the past few months only to find one-sided recordings or no recordings at all.
Has T-Mobile or HTC intentionally blocked access with their latest updates?
Are there are bugs in the ROM?
Is this a root-access issue?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Update – HTC Desire Firmware Over The Air (FOTA) update
In our commitment to providing you with the best user experience, we are pushing out a new firmware update to your phone. Your phone will receive a notification of this update when it is made available. Simply press OK to accept the update via a data connection such as Wi-Fi or GPRS/3G. After installing the update, you can confirm a successful update by confirming the Software Number (From the Home Screen go to MENU> Settings> About Phone> Software information> Software number). The new software number after the update will be 1.15.405.4 for an HTC phone.
1.15.110.11 on T-Mobile
Note: We recommend using a free Wi-Fi hotspot or an unlimited data plan to apply this update. If not, standard data connection charges may apply. For any questions, please contact us at http://www.htc.com/www/CA_Hotline.aspx
well just checked my device and its already installed. 2 options or it was pre-installed on my device or auto installed.
quite old I suppose, since I bought it here in Italy the past week and it came with such firmware.
Oh, should you guess if it enables 720p video, no, it doesn't.
I checked my software number 1.15.61.10, i ran the sytem software update and it told me there are no updates...

has anyone else other than T Mobile users recieved the update?
Generic devices got it last week.
T-Mobile got it this week.
Orange phones will get it in the next few days..
Just be patient.....FOTA updates do not all come at once.
Really? I thought everybody would get it at the same time... crashing all the networks.
I was hoping this update is for the DIVX support.. link to the article:
http://www.mobiletechworld.com/2010...ceive-divx-playback-support-in-future-update/
Copied from mobiletechworld:
I had the chance to talk to HTC a couple of hours ago during their local HTC Legend/Desire/HD Mini presentation. There was obviously nothing new to learn (especially since I already got some hands-on action last week at the MWC). The only new piece of info I got was about the rumored DivX playback and 720P encoding capabilities of the HTC Desire (aka HTC Bravo). The answer I got was that DivX support will be added in a future update (they didn’t say much about 720P support but from the way it sounded it should be coming in the same update) because they didn’t have time to finalise the feature before launching the handset.
Im dubious if orange are going to release this update and add there rubbish to it.
I upgraded my ROM on my HTC Touch HD from the HTC website, the ROM was a orange only ROM..
Lets just say it was more of a downgrade than upgrade...my original ROM had no orange branding or software, i believe that the new ROM sim locked my phone...
old, t-mobile ships their devices already with the .11 software

Newbie (but teachable) question about HTC Desire (Telstra Branded)

Hello all. I am new to Android – but have done a little research and I am excited about the possibilities of my new phone. Which is…the HTC Desire A8183 with Telstra Branding and the new ROM that fixed the GPS issue and added voice search.
I imported the phone into the US to use on AT&T’s network. I love the OS, the features, etc. The speed on AT&T’s 3G network is incredible – averaging about 200 kB/s.
My Goal: I want to Root the device and probably apply a stock HTC Rom. The reasons: I want to 1. Remove the Telstra crap; 2. Use it for Wi-Fi tethering; and 3. Install apps to the SD Card.
My issues: When I purchased the phone, it came with what I believe was a stock HTC Desire ROM from Europe. However, the GPS DID NOT WORK. I tried every program I could get my hands on. Does anyone know if the A8183 has a different hardware configuration (other than frequencies) and that is why the GPS did not work on the original Telstra ROM? Of course, the only way I could get the GPS to work was to flash the phone with the Updated Telstra ROM from HTC’s website. Piece of cake. However, now I have this crap from Telstra on my phone.
My predicament regarding rooting and flashing another ROM on to this particular HTC Desire model: It looks like all the guides I have found require you to install a new ROM on to the phone. Will I still have the same GPS issues? Have we found out why the GPS did not work on the original ROM and how they fixed it? If so, has anyone ported that solution into a stock HTC ROM?
To be perfectly honest – I just want this Telstra bloatware gone, wifi tethering, and apps on my SDcard. (Obviously, I want all other functions to work as they should…including GPS) If anyone has possible solutions, my mind is open and I can pretty much respond immediately.
Sorry if I used incorrect terms – I’m new.
In advance – Thanks,
Eric
Have a look at this thread over on MoDaCo android forum, it has the solution to your problem.
BTW, where did you buy your phone from?

Desire issue with Call Waiting

Having an issue with the HTC Desire relative to the 'call waiting' beep tone. I have had two devices on both ATT and T-Mobile in the US and when on a call and another call is received, there is no beep tone. Just some static for 3-4 seconds.
I have been able to reproduce this on both the Telstra & Euro version. In another forum someone posted they did get a beep tone, but that is the only other basis for comparison I have.
If any else using a HTC Desire in the US can verify for me, I would appreciate it.
Many thanks,
same problem in Romania
I have an unlocked HTC Desire which I use with Vodafone.
Call waiting activated, second call is received and displayed on screen, no beep tone.
To fix the issue I have bought an app from the market: androlib.com => CALL WAITING CONFIGURATIONS (I'm not allowed to post links) .
After rooting the device and installing Pays-ROM Desire with Sense v1.4 (RockSolid) I found you that the application wasn't necessary, the root or the new ROM fixed the problem.

Hi in the UK with a SIM free Desire on Vodafone, call waiting works perfectly for me. Beeps and displays it on screen.

Thank you. That is what I searched on, but apparently it is no longer in the Market (in the US).

[q] froyo bugs??

Hi Guys!
I have the australian Desire because of the 850MHz 3G frequency needed in my country. I upgraded to froyo (not rooted device) "in the air" and got this:
- Android 2.2 version;
- 32.43.00.32U_5.09.00.20 baseband version;
- 2.6.32.14-gf9c0527 kernel version;
- 2.09.405.8 CL218634 release-keys;
- 2.09.405.8 software version;
- wbekit 3.1 browser version.
Besides the sometimes poor reception of the radio I´m also having notifications problems:
1- The phone, when in vibrate mode, doesn´t receive calls, the phone do not vibrate at all going to "not available" for the person who calls me and a missed call symbol appears on the notification area.
2- The phone do not ring at all in normal mode and a missed call symbol appears on the notification area.
3- SMS messages do not ring and/or vibrate when in normal/vibrate modes, specially when the threaded messages are opened.
This problems occours randomly, sometimes occours and sometimes not.
Is there anyone also having this?
Thank you all!
Are you locked to Telstra? I didn't think they had upgraded to Froyo yet, because I've got one, and just checked.
Anyway, I've rooted the device (using Unrevoked) and installed OpenDesire on it, and don't have any of the problems you're having. However, if you don't want to void your warranty, I can see the reasons for not wanting to root/flash your phone.

No, I´m not locked to Telstra. When I bought it on eBay I did simply put my chip from Vivo on it and started talking. I do not care about warantie, I just like the HTC widgets and messages, email, dialer and other stuffs and don´t want to have an instable OS, or a modifyed one with icons and stuffs that don´t have the "factory default appearance", got it?
But I have not discarted rooting my device...
Is your from Telstra too? Was it locked?
Thanks!
Australian Desire in Brazil
cristianomc,
I'm no expert, but since you updated your desire 'over the air' I wonder if you have firmware from your mobile carrier that is incompatible with the telstra firmware that was on the telstra branded desire?
Telstra Froyo updates are not out yet, but should be in a week or two.
These would be available 'over the air' in Australia, but perhaps they would also be available online from HTC or telstra.
HTC had a telstra update some months ago for the desire and posted it here : www*htc*com/au/SupportViewNews.aspx?dl_id=941&news_id=640
Perhaps you should check this page in a week or so and see if the Telstra 2.2 update is there for download and try insalling that over the top?
Alternatively, since you haven't "rooted" your phone, but just used an incompatible 'over the air' updtate in Brazil, e-mail htc support, and they may be able to help?
Good luck,
Richard

[Q] Internet calling feature missing on 5.0.1

Hi. After a month of turmoil I finally upgraded from HTC One X to One M8 and immediately I updated the software to 5.0.1. Now I can't find SIP calling settings anywhere. Am I missing something or has this feature been removed? And how do I get the native feature back without installing third party apps.
P.S. I couldn't find it anywhere in M8 forums so I'm posting it here. I will be happy with a redirect with a solution.
