System Prompt: Use USB for file transfers? - HTC Desire 530 Questions & Answers

Hi everyone,
A good afternoon. Does anyone know if there is a setting or workaround that permanently disable this annoying question, every time I plug my phone in (Use USB for file transfers?)? It really is an unnecessary extra step that I would love to remove. Is it a Sense UI issue? If so, would replacing the ROM/GUI fix it (I know, drastic measures)? Clearly, I'm a novice, so you may speak as such.

Sensitive G-Senor (How to fix?)

Hi Guys,
I am currently using a Cell Pro Rom and I find that my it keeps flipping to landscape too often when I have my phone in portrait.
I always have to give it a shake to fix itself and it does get a bit annoying.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
(I remember I may have (not certain) that I might have changed the Sensor registry when I first got it, but I am not certain, does anyone know the default measurements?)
Any ideas are welcomed.
Many thanks in advance!
Did you ask in the Cell Pro ROM thread? Seems a more logical place to ask. I tried that one out and did not have the issue you are describing. Good ROM too.
There is a G-Sensor Calibration in Settings- System.

I'm fearing the fact that I may have changed something in the registery as I got all excited the day i got the phone and went through the tweaks in the wiki.
I am not certain if I made any changes regarding the g sensor so I was wondering if anyone knows the defaults or if there is a .cab or ROM to flash to system restore.
Any clues?
Many thanks in advance
To me the g-sensor is a gimmick. I find it annoying and totally useless so I've turned mine off altogether. If I want the screen to rotate I push the keyboard out. I really don't see any use for it.
I did think the only use I had for it was the face down hands free thing but have since decided that I'd be quite happy to push a button for that. Hardly a hassle.

[Q] Reminders and Notes - Why

Probably (hopefully) a really stupid question with a simple answer, but I have one annoyance left with my HTC One X. I use the calendar function a lot and so whenever a reminder pops up, which I dismiss, it then open up a separate screen asking me if I want to create a note. My issues with this is:
1) I cannot understand why, when I've been reminded of a meeting or task to perform, I would want to create a note on it? Why does this feature exist.
2) How can I disable this?
I've been putting up with this since Feb, but no more, so hopefully some bright spark on here can enlighten me :fingers-crossed:
Thanks

I have a similar problem, have you experienced the Reminder coming up, and now matter how much you "Dismiss" it, it'll just pop straight back up, you experienced that?

Very annoying mate, the only way to dismiss it, is either go onto the computer at work, and dismiss it their on Outlook, or to unlock the phone, dismiss it about 50 times and close the notification etc, then it decides whether to go or not !

Manually block headset

Hi everyone,
I've been looking for a fix to my phone for weeks now, even got the 3.5mm jack changed, but can't find a fix. The problem: I plug an ordinary pair of headphones into my phone (no mic, no headset controls) and the phone thinks it's a headset with all the bells and whistles I said it doesn't have. As soon as something knocks the jack plugged in, it senses a headset-button-press and either starts/stops/skips music, or activates Google voice search. My phone is running android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean (Pacman). I've tried all apps (HeadsetBlocker, Toggleheadset2, SoundAbout) designed to handle this problem, without succes, that's why I'm looking for a manual way of disabling the controls. Isn't it possible to just remove a line of code from the system, or add a line to block the flipping thing? I don't even mind if it were a permanent irreversable fix, just someone please help! I've been musicless because of this for 3 months now. :' (
Problem remains
Lots of experts around then... -.- Does anyone know what the app - called Headset Blocker - actually does regarding the system? Or does anyone know how I could find out for myself what the app tries to do? I'm thinking of smth like an "app logcat", if such exists... All help appreciated, thanks in advance!

I am also interested in this issue. I have a Galaxy SIII with 4.1.2 and accidentally, it got wet around 2 months ago. The problem is that it detects no real headset plugs, not allowing using the MIC and internal speaker, unless using a real headset. My aim is to disable the "headset plug", but no luck with all the apps you mention. I have read that there are an issue with ICS versiones, but I would like to find a solution.
Install "disable autoplay" from play store. It kills the autoplay caused by headset.

It's just a icon for me, doesn't work.
Also, deleting /system/usr/keylayout/AVRCP.kl and /system/usr/keylayout/h2w_headset.kl doesn't work, too.

I can ensure you it's not just a icon, are you rooted?

Of course, but when I use that app, my SuperSU doesn't ask root permission.

[Q] No Notification of Incoming call...HELP

Yes no problems before
The best solution is to un-freeze the apps that you have frozen and then see if the problem still exists.
Depending on how you rooted, you can reload the stock system and kind of start over, but you should really check out the phones functions good and make sure they are working before you start changing stuff.
Always freeze apps first to make sure you aren't creating problems as you go and with the memory this phone has on it, chances are you don't need to actually delete anything.
Doing a lot of READING about what people are finding, how things react, how to do things like flashing back etc... is always useful rather than jumping in and just start blindly making changes.
Keep a record of what you changed so you know how to unchange it.

Yes i do have Xposed installed..Not notify
Im thinking i did delete something because when i checked those settings the box was NOT checked and i dont know how that happened.
BUT this did not fix the problem...When i am not using Nova launcher a minimized Ringer will pop up when i am called that i can maximize.
I also found a file on my comp that might be the issue ..its called Call_Keypad_bg (or something like that)
How can i put the file back into com.android.phone?
Anyone able to help?

Your posts are very odd. Sound like there is a lot you are not telling us. Sounds like you did much more then just root. With the info provided I would say you need to odin back to stock as we are missing a full accounting of your customizations.

WARNING: Talkback feature

I was fiddling with my phone settings and testing a few features. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT ENABLE THE TALKBACK FEATURE.
After enabling this feature, my phone began to freeze on every screen while the voice assistant keeps speaking as I try to press anything on the screen. The entire phone just bugs out. Can't swipe or scroll. Can't select anything. Can't get to the settings to disable the talkback feature because I can't scroll. Can't do anything basically.
So, here I am with a brand new unusable HTC One M8. This is my 2nd NEW HTC One M8 that has defective software. My first one couldn't read any SIM cards after 3 new SIM cards were attempted by a T-Mobile rep.
Try factory reset.

Can't. As I mentioned, I cannot swipe or scroll. Factory reset requires scrolling to 'Factory Reset'. Not only that, I cannot select anything unless I get "lucky". The phone doesn't do anything I want it to do. I have a vid of the issue but I can't link it to this thread because I'm a new user.
If you have an HTC One M8, you can test this feature yourself and let me know if you run into the same problem but I warn you... if you run into the same problem, you will need to get it replaced and your phone won't work. Would be nice to know if this is a common problem but I'm not sure people are willing to take that chance and basically break their phone on purpose. It's like telling someone to press the big red self-destruct button to see what happens lol.
Factory reset from the bootloader..... and talk back works fine. And if it does fail on my phone i re install my rom, i love my unlocked, s-offed M8. Makes it all so easy

How do I do that exactly?
Wish I could show you the vid, then you'll understand exactly how impossible it is to do anything.

Nvm, I figured out how to factory reset when powering it on. I guess my Talkback feature is just unusable?

Sorry, I think you're misunderstanding my previous explanation. I cannot swipe nor can I scroll. I cannot select anything. The entire phone becomes bugged/glitched. You'd be amazed if you could watch the short video I made of it. It's more extreme than you think. Everything just goes haywire.
I'd like to say I'm a very tech savvy person since I do a lot of computer-related design, I can build computers, troubleshoot viruses, clean my registry, and "techie" things. I'm not just some average consumer who bought a phone and doesn't know how to use a smart phone. I'm very proficient with smartphones. With that said, there is seriously something wrong with the Talkback function. Enabling it almost feels like a virus is attacking the OS. I honestly don't need to use that particular function but what if one day I do or someone else might need to use it.
I actually got a new replacement yesterday and I'm not even going to touch that function whatsoever until I find some answers and a possible solution. I have everything synced to my new phone with my contacts, multiple email accounts, apps, social media, etc. and I'm not going to risk running into that problem and being forced to factory reset my phone. If you know the pain of having to reinstall your OS on a PC which I've done dozens of time throughout the years then you'll understand how painful that process really is because you have to reinstall all your software again.
I found another bug on my new phone as well and made a thread about it already. +/- for Selfie Mode doesn't work. Just greaaaaaat.
n
u need to use 2 fingers when scrolling
LOOOOL...ROFLLLLL...
I remember the first time I ever turned talkback on. "Panic" should be included as an official feature. Obviously, like our friend here, I didn't bother to read all the operational instructions that came with it, and thought for sure I had killed my phone.
Hint: you really have to use "2 fingers" to go anywhere!
Cheers
