So far, this isn't working. The zenfone 2 I'm trying to flash continues to boot into TWRP no matter what I do, even after flashing TWRP 3.0.3. I keep on flashing LOS14.1 and it's still booting into twrp. I tried wiping the phone and flashing, it says that the flashing works, but then it proceeds to boot into twrp.

What rom where you on before you tried Los?

I was on aicp Nougat.
It turns out that the issue was that I flashed magisk. When flashing the magisk zip provided from the marshmallow (ZenFone 2 specific) thread, it worked fine. It's now rooted using magisksu.

Tnx guys. I fix the problem updating TWRP. Now i can update via OTA normaly correct?

I've installed Los 14.1-20180113, open_gapps-x86-7.1-stock, and twrp-3.0.3-M4. When I do a normal or recovery boot, the phone will reboot a few times then goes to bootloader. When I install twrp-3.0.2-0 the phone will reboot a few times and then goes into recovery mode (twrp is showing). Any ideas of what can be wrong? TIA

just use the official twrp from their site,3.2 is working correctly, the official lineageos also works, but, when flashing any zip which modifying boot image, such as super SU or masigk, you need flash the special version in this forum or using official and flash the signature zip to boot

installed twrp-3.2.1-0-Z00A.img from official site. When I try to boot to recovery, the phone would reboot 3 times then load bootloader, twrp does not load

It is a kernel related issue , for me works only when i flash flareN kernel after ota update lineage os

there is a trick on this phone when you boot not official boot or recovery image,
it will get stuck in boot logo if you reboot.
the solution is to restore aboot-bak to aboot partition, so that's what i did in "init.restore.sh" script.

I'd suggest using /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/aboot instead.

Anyway, very good job for this twrp. It gives me hope !!!
This TWRP, suitable for ZE500KG ?
Please,
I was waiting so long (2 months now, i check almost every day) for a custom ROM to flash my ZE500KL, but it seems that no developper is interested to build it... so, please, is there anyone who own a ZE500KL (of course, a working device ), who can do a TWRP backup, who can upload it in a server (in zip or rar), so i can download it and do a restore to my poor device ? Please
Thank you :fingers-crossed:

The best i've done till now is to :
- download the .222 stock rom from Asus
- Extract it, and edit the update-script to remove the 4 first line talking about device kind
- Recompress in ZIP and flash through this TWRP 3.0.0.0 (it's weird that stock recovery can't flash the original ZIP) ==>> no more error device, it said that it succeed
But it don't really fix all problems :
- The device is booting and i can access the welcome screen, but either it stucks and reboot automatically after 3 or 4 minutes, or stucks and i have to remove battery, or i have a lot of errors like "goggle play stopped" or "process.xxxx stopped" or something like these
All details concerning the problem is there http://forum.xda-developers.com/zen...ng-rom-zip-asus-ze500kl-t3302389#post65465004
Tested and Flashed on a ZE500KG, It works flawlessly!
Forgive me if this is a noob question, but does this also work on ZE551KL, or should I stick with this one
wow, it's sweet.
maybe it's time for coming back for ZE500KL.

Are you sure tu be on twrp recovery? Do you see the logo "twrqp" when you boot into reocovery? Sorry for the questions but when you said me the file name you wrote ".md5" and if i m correct you can' t flash an md5 file, you can flash only files that ends with ".tar", did you follow the twrp installation? Did you flashed the recovery with odin?

Yes I am sure because it shows the logo TWRP when starting recovery. Yes you cant flash md5 but thats not what i mean. Sorry for bad english. I have installed md5 with odin after flashed twrp as recovery.
One another thing is i have read on xda other threads that it could be de 'Assers lines" in the Updater script. Many people have fixed it like that but I dont know when lines I should erase in the Updater Script of the ending symbol of the Assets lines. Maybe you can help me with editing the Updater Script?

fastboot unlock oem ? Right ?
flash via fastboot the last factory image for cm 14.1 Custom Rom
Flash TWRP 3.0.2.3.img via fastboot (fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2.3.img)
Flash Cf Auto Root.img via fastboot or UpdateSU.zip via TWRP
Flash CM 14.1 Custom Rom , Flash Open gapps micro or pico and reboot if it's take over 10 minutes reboot in bootloader and start android again wait and enjoy
You don't have to do it every time, just make sure they match.
Read the OP. It's there for a reason....
Most likely you only need the vendor image

Guys, need help with TWRP flashing!

Guys, I used RootJunky's video instruction. Everything went fine, I flashed recovey in adb. Then, as instructed, rebooted to bootloader, then to recovery.
But now I get "This build is for development purposes only..." insted of TWRP. If I do nothing, it just reboots to system.
Help me, please!
Thank you in advance!

Did you use TWRP 3.0.3-0? If not flash this recovery, found over in the downloads tab of the TWRP thread. The named version is compatible to Android N as well as MM. From what you wrote - and is really less information - I guess you're on a late 2.x.x-x TWRP version but an N firmware.

I used 3.0.2-6 version, I thought it's OK. And yes, I'm on N firmware.
The thing I have just noticed is that when RootJunky dragged and dropped the TWRP file in the cmd window it automatically was quoted ("..."), but mine wasn't.
So, maybe this is the problem?
Can I just reflash recovery once again?
P.S. I can boot to system/bootloader/download mode successfully

No the quotation marks aren't the problem. But you need TWRP 3.0.3-0 unofficial as 3.0.2-6 won't boot on N firmware.
Download the mentioned unofficial TWRP, flash as shown on the video tutorial and you're good to go.

Here it is: https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/development/recovery-twrp-touch-recovery-t3358139/page146
If opened in browser you recognize a download tab on top, kick it, and download 3.0.3-0 unofficial. Don't take 3.0.3-3 at the moment, as not all ROMs seem to flash properly. Those ROMs are just not yet changed to the new mechanism used, but it'd be better to wait.

Very good system, I think someone will need it.
Hello so i was trying to update this rom from an old lineage 15.1 os June 2018 build, here's what i did
- Flashed shieldblobs
-flashed Tos ( As i flashed it in recovery itself, i was prompted for option whether to flash on boot partition or recovery partition, and i selected boot partition)
-after that i flashed a twrp recovery 30.09.2018
-restarted the device to recovery
-wiped system, cache, data
-successfully flashed this rom
-flashed open gapps pico 7.1
-wiped dalvik cache and restarted to system
- Mi pad is dead lol at first i thought it's battery might be drained but it's been an hour and it does not boot into any recovery or fastboot mode. Any suggestion?
After several tries was able to boot to recovery and flashed the smoke kernel, the rom works now thank you :good::silly:
Ok so the device shuts off when i lock the screen and i have hard time booting the rom/system, but it easily boots into recovery.. I'm guessing the problem has to do with me flashing a wrong tos version or something? Can someone clarify? Should i flash tos 0.1 in recovery partition? I had previously flashed it in boot partition.. Awaiting reply thanks

You should use this guideline, flash using fastboot commands, partition name is tos

This is a very fast Rom.. Tried many. This is one of the best. Thanks.
The setup wizard keeps crashing after bootup, and I am unable to use the tablet as I can't get out of the wizard screen. I went through the flashing procedure twice, with the same results. LOS 14.1 works for me.

I have the same problem.
After I install "BootBlobs-SHIELD-mocha", I can enter the "Android 7.12" system. Yon can try again.
