Did you try flashing the Xposed uninstaller zip? Can you get back to TWRP?

If you've never used TWRP before I suggest trying Google to get some basics. When I say "flashing" I'm talking about using the "Install" button in TWRP. You'll install the ROM first followed by the kernel. They should both be Zip files. If it was just Xposed though it might just fix the problem to find the correct Xposed uninstaller zip and flash that in TWRP.

Yep know that install is flashing. My thing is, is that I don't wanna lock up bootloader. I tried contacting person I got the phone from, because when I got it, wasn't showing the stuff that was listed. I made a backup on titanium pro, but can't get to it.. when I try to "install" on twpr the folder is there but says sdcard, that I wiped..the bootloader and unroot are my main concerns oh, and hard bricking..have internal storage folders...some in blue, most are grey....?

When you tap on install there's an option to select storage. You'll want the micro SD card. Unless you use Odin you won't be locking your bootloader and as long as TWRP is installed root is pretty easy. Just get your phone booting and then worry about the rest.

I agree with what shadeau said, first just get the rom to boot. Just flash the rom zip by itself and after it boots for the first time you can go back into recovery to add Xposed. A couple things that you may want to check on though, the kernel that's included in the rom is setup to let Magisk install properly which you'll need if you're using the version of Xposed that you have in the link you posted and I'm not sure if beast mode is. It may be easier to use wanam's original version which is here.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad, I hope you're doing ok. The process you mentioned is good as far as advanced wipe and install the rom, but I wouldn't flash the kernel at first, there's one built in and it's a good idea to make sure everything is OK first before flashing other stuff. But once you see all is good then you can go back into recovery to flash the kernel you want and you can flash Xposed in twrp just use the one I linked to in the previous post and make sure you wipe the dalvik cache and cache after you flash the Xposed zip.

just sent you a donation Kevin!!

Thank you for your donation, you are awesome!! I replied to the email address that was listed, but I'll also tell you now that it really means a lot to me and I couldn't be happier that you like the work I'm doing.
As far as restoring your apps I usually suggest that you should download them again from the play store. If you've already bought them they want make you pay for them again and honestly I just don't really trust the way that titanium backup restores apps, but if using the play store isn't an option it's ok to use TB to restore them and a lot of people do use it.

Finally Fixed the bootloop.

Your bootloader is not locked if you can boot to TWRP. Not having root is different from the bootloader being unlocked. You just need to flash the SuperSu zip.

[Q] Help! Stuck on white HTC screen after installing root!

So I installed CWM recovery, and installed the rmk root setup zip. Before I installed it, I wiped the cache but not the Dalvik cache. When I rebooted, it hung on the white HTC screen. I went back into recovery and wiped dalvik cache, cache and even data and settings, then installed the zip again and it still hangs. can somebody help me? Honestly at this point I just want to be able to use my phone again.
Thanks in advance
Did you install the root zip that included the froyo stock kernel? I made the same mistake. Just have to adb a compatible 2.3 kernel into your sdcard and flash it.
Sent from my Incredible 2 using XDA App
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1160745
i'm pretty sure this is the zip i used. if thats what you're talking about, then how do I fix it?
You cant use that .zip because it uses the Froyo kernal which is incompatible. You have to push jcase's GB kernal to your sd card then flash that.
I'm sorry for the stupid question, and thank you so much for your help, but where can i find that? and what commands do I use to push the kernel to the phone?
Have no fear as long as you can get into CWM then you are still good.
How long does it hang, sometimes it takes a few minutes for that HTC screen to go away, especially if you wiped data. you might want to wait, a little bit.
You can always download a stock rom(jcase plainjane rom), get into CWM, and then mount your USB to be able to install from your computer, and then flash the new rom.
Did you make a backup before you flashed the update, you can always recover.

If you can get into CWM, look for Mounts/Storage and mount your USB so you can access your Phones SD card from your computer, then transfer the file from your computer to your phone.
or use adb if you are familiar with that.
you did get S-Off first right?
yes i have s-off, no i did not make a recovery (i wasnt aware i could do that before i rooted but i have come to terms with the fact that I lost a bunch of data).
okay, so i put the file on my sd card and... what? is it a zip file? where can i find it?
just so i understand, once I get this rooted kernel, i will be rooted and i will be able to install the cwm app and go from there?
and i don't necessarily want the stock rooted... i guess i could go from there but for right now could i download a 2.3 kernel with a different rom? are kernels bundled with roms or do i need to install them separately?
sorry, i'm a new user so i keep having to wait 5 minutes...
Kernels, can be rom specific or bundled but currently for the dinc2 there arent a lot so make sure it doesnt say it belongs to a specific rom otherwise it might not work.
Jcase has a stock kernel and rom he put up a while back for gingerbread.
They will be a .zip file and all you have to do is using recovery choose zip file and run it, since you already deleted everything.
When you install a rom, it will add su and busybox, and root your phone. You need your phone rooted to be able to do anything, after S-off.
if you have recovery installed then you have CWM and really what you want is Rom Manager to do backups.
can i flash the tiamat kernel? do i still have an OS? will that fix things?

tiamat kernel is an AOSP kernel. for CM7/MIUI/OM(F)GB
you'll get bootloops if you flash it on a sense rom.
so should i flash that, then flash something like MIUI? can i do that? and do i have to wipe data/cache/dalvik before the kernel AND before i install MIUI?
thanks

I would get a Rom working first which is your OS, the kernel jut says how it should run.
but apparently i have a froyo kernel installed right now? how should I fix that?

If you install a new rom, it will overwrite whatever kernel you have, so you might just want to install this....

Panicing - need help please!!

I have just rooted my Google Nexus and it went very well. I have installed the phone encryption which also went well... I installed an application that I bought on Google Play called phone locator Pro and it crashed when i opened it, so i submitted a bug report and decided to reboot phone, when the phone boots back up and I unlock it with my pin the msg phonelocator has crashed appears and it takes presidence of the screen and I cant select the OK button to get rid of it - so I cant use my phone at all!
I cant even restore my backup because the phone cant read the virtual sd card in clockwork recovery because its encrypted! How can I get around this, Im freaking out and my heart is beating at 200 bpm!
Thanks!!!!!!!!

I think worst case that you might have to flash the phone again and you might lose your data. But with everything backed up to Gmail as far as contacts and things, you can recover. At least it isn't hard bricked.
I know that doesn't sound too reassuring but all is not lost! I would suggest when you get it back and running that you make sure everything works and do a reboot before encrypting it.
I assume you already have the toolkit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1400871
See if you can get into CWM from the toolbox.

I cant flash it though, because the phone is encrypted and in recovery it wont mount the volumes. I have a backup I can restore from if this worked for me....
Yup, I have the toolkit, used that to root my phone, but it will want to reboot the phone, I wonder if I can remove the APK somehow without being in recovery?
As one of the users pointed out, you have to reflash a custom rom again, you will obviously loose your contacts but it better than loosing your nexus.
1.get a custom rom, not stock because it will erase cwm.
2.transfer it to the SD card
3.boot into cwm using boot combination.
4. Wipe data/factory reset and cache.
5.choose *choose zip from SD card.*
6.reflash your rom then your gapps package if u have one.
If this doesn't help you will have to try fast boot method
Eligible XDA Developer GRAVITY 360
Most likely fastboot is the right method for you, I can't explain much as I'm mainly a cwm user

The phone has encryption...... It wont mount the partition where the ROM is and I cant do a factory reset because it fails when it tries to delete the data partition because its encrypted and the android secure partition.

Will this need to boot into fastboot, if it will it wont work, since the partition that the ROM is on wont be visible, this gets decrypted later into the boot of the phone.
Just hold down vol. Up and down and power at the same time.
Type fastboot devices into terminal on your computer and see if it shows.
The partition should be visible, just not the data on it.
And it should only be the data partition that is encrypted anyway.
nodstuff, it worked!!!!!

I don't have one and anyway its not about money so enjoy your phone and remember that it is really hard to brick a nexus so don't give yourself a heart attack next time something happens, it can always be fixed.
Read about adb and fastboot, so valuable.

[Q] galaxy s3 i747m ROGERS to jelly bean cm10

hey guys
let me start off by saying i am a noob to this site and android in general , ive learnt a lot from my galaxy s2 .
now i got the s3 , ive rooted it .. however i tried to upgrade to 4.1 awhile back . kept getting error .
anyways i want to upgrade to jellybean im sick of waiting like everyone else.
cm10 seems like a good rom , ive read a lot on this forum, could some one tell me what the first step is do i flash cwm first on the rogers stock or do i have to put ATT stock on it
thanks
cheers
Hi!
Welcome to the site! You'll really love the community here!
Here are some simple instructions I found for you: http://www.androidauthority.com/gal...elly-bean-cyanogenmod-10-cm10-preview-104742/
Just make sure you download the latest CWM from here (6.0.1.2 currently): http://download2.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.2-d2att.img
And flash it to your device.
Then follow those steps, wipe/format data partition, as it says there. CAREFUL make sure you download the latest CyanogenMod version from here too, the top one on the list is always newest, latest version came out today actually: http://get.cm/?device=d2att
Let me know how it goes and if you're enjoying it! Tried leaked version of JB on my S3 with Telus in Canada and didn't like the bugs in there...so let me know if the 'CM Finishing Touch' on there is really better than stock!

Yup! Start off with CWM Recovery flash, when that's done, transfer file to device (internal sd card) and from the ROGERS stock rom you can do the apply update from zip option in CWM.

If you get the SGS3 All-in-one toolkit from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703488 , you can install CWM from it just make sure you have drivers installed, it can help you with that if you don't have them, and enable USB Debugging.
If that doesn't work, which I think it should, try to use this link a bit. Download the version they have it should be pretty recent.

Oh so now you have CWM? Well as long as you have it, you'll only need it once or twice to erase all data, then install CM and GApps.
Ill try it with the cwm from the superuser one but I remember doing that it said error 9 or something

Quick question, I flashed CWM recovery using the terminal, and I see it when I boot into recovery, but when I go to ROM Manager to flash CM10, it says to flash CWM Recovery, and won't let me access the list. I would've flashed CWM from ROM Manager, but the S3 wasn't on the list of devices. Is there anyway to get around this?

Hi there!
Basically you must first but the CWM ZIP file on your internal sdcard then boot into CWM, from there go to install zip file or something like that, then select from SD Card, find the zip, you're done!
Don't forget to do a factory reset through CWM before the CM10 update and maybe after too.
Let me how it goes,
Michael
Never liked CWM, I personally love TWRP as a recovery. Go to the app store and download GooManager.

But don't I already have CWM? Or is CWM and CWM Recovery two different things? Where would I get the CWM .zip for my rogers phone? I backed up my phone from recovery mode, does that mean I backed up my current ROM (stock rooted ROM)? And I backed up a few apps using Titanium Backup, if I use factory reset, would all my backups get erased? Thanks for your help!

Hi,
CWM = CWM Recovery; same thing just shorter .
The ZIP file for your rogers phone can be found here: http://get.cm/?device=d2att
Click the one at the top of the list as it is the newest.
Don't worry about the ROM because worst case scenario if you want to downgrade to stock, you can re-download it online and re-root.
For the apps, it depends where your backups are, usually, in TitBak, the backups are stored in /sdcard/TitaniumBackup which will be safe as formatting to factory settings and data partition in CWM doesn't format the internal or external SD Card. But I am not responsable if it does so be careful!

Also, I just got a notification to update SuperUser, which takes me to the Playstore, but on I remember seeing not to update SuperUser on the thread where I was told how to root my phone. So do I update it or not?

You can update it, I don't see what could go wrong because an update will only help fix things if there were bugs you had.
Okay, thanks! I'm going to use this <http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1587607> guide to flash the cm ROM. But say afterwords, I want to unroot and remove the 'Modified' status of my phone, and return back to the stock ROM like nothing happened, and remove the flash counter. How would I do that?

That would be with Odin you would redownload the Stock ROM for Rogers and then flash it. To reset counter, you can download the app TriangleAway for free from the Play Store and with root, it resets the counter. Then you can unroot.

[Q] Before I root my P6 how to keep the original restore?

Hey everyone! I got my P6 only yesterday and I am really pleased with it. It works like a charm and I can hardly find any reason to root it except for the most important of all to use CWM and Titanium Backup in order to import all my apps to it.
Before I root it I wanted to know how can I save the initial state of the phone WITH the original recovery, in case I ever need to return the phone for warranty issues. I know after rooting I can install CWM and backup but this doesn't backup the original restore and keeps CWM. I am asking before hand because I never managed to do it on my ZTE Skate after I rooted it. Unless of course it's very easy to do it after rooting (which wasn't the case with the Skate) and i don't need to worry about it.
LOL Only 2 things you find in favor, how about Greenify, bloatware, editing build.prop, FolderMount, etc ? Nevermind, yes you can save the initial state.

If u whant just root it u can root with metod what work on your device and if u whant to lose root just flash any avilable update from local update, u wil not lose any data just root and u will be back on stock recovery to.
But if u whant to try out any custom rom
Install TWRP
Then flash ROM what u whant
In XDA i can find stock P6 recovery and flash it from TWRP and then install any avilable update from stock recovery.

I rooted with the 3rd option and everything went smooth! Now I want to add the TWRP and I had a question that I can't post yet in the other forums as I am under 10 posts.
I tried using original recovery but I got error message.
In order to install TWRP I must be on 118CN which I have downloaded. How do I install 118CN before I proceed with installing TWRP?
After much trouble I managed to install CWM and took backup first of my current rom. Than I went to install the 118.zip but I got an error message (did factory reset first). I don't know what else to try unless some one who has done it tells me what is the way
Great! I found out in a totally different section of the forum the following:
HOW DO I...?
Get stock ROM:
Make sure you have stock Recovery not TWRP.
Place your stock version on your SDCard in 'dload' folder, make sure it's named UPDATE.APP
Turn off your device
Press and hold Volume - and +
Press Power but still hold Volume - and +
It will now install stock, and also reboot.
I try this and I get message that the phone is secureboot phone.
This phone is LOCK State.
Nevermind that message.

To get back to your question: You don't need root for a good backup solution. You can use Helium backup for a complete backup of al your apps. I am rooted but I still prefer Helium above titanium backup.
-edit-
Didn't read all the replies. This is irrelevant now. :S
Yes I know about Helium but I prefer Titanium Backup.
As for my problem last night I found the fix and it was totally crazy!
I couldn't update to B125 (stock) with stock recovery with the same error messages like with CN118.
I tried one last thing before I called it a night and it worked! I copied the Dload folder with the update in both the internal storage and the SD card because as long as it was in the SD card you couldn't update. That is a crazy bug because even in the official Huawei guide it mentions copying the update in the SD. I finally solved this and now I can play around with other roms.
I can verify that when I tried to update from B125 to KitKat beta I did not have to copy the dload folder to Internal storage, so this could be a bug affiliated only to B606 I had I guess.

Updating to latest rom.

Hi all!
Sorry for posting a new thread about this, but I'm really confused about what should I do.
I'm currently on P6-U06V100R001C00B111 - rooted, and I would like to use KitKat stock or custom, doesn't matter. Can I just put ROM files on SD and go on "Local update" in settings? Or do I have to install ADB and fastboot as described here
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

First of all, wrong forum..
Second I belive there are many ways of doin this update.
This is what I did:
1. Placed the update.app on a Sdcard and did a locale-update by going into settings
2. The phone will reboot and the update will start.
3. You are know on KK, but you will not have a working PlayStore since the old one is for JB.
Basicly this is what u need to do to be on KK, but if you want Playstore etc you have to install TWRP and flash gapps, and if I remember right you need to flash TWRP via fastboot.
I wanted a clean install so after I had installed TWRP I did a factory reset and wiped the internal memory and installed KK (.zip-file) and Gapps via TWRP from my Sdcard.
This is how I did and maybe someone else can tell u a better way to do it.
Can anyone post the link for what rom can i flash?
