How to Update from rooted marshmallow to nougat ??

Is any way to update to nougat version , mine using rooted marshmallow?? Any advice should be appreciated .

It depends. How did you root? Is it systemless?
There are different ways. You want an original system? Easy one, independent of your root method, is: take an original marshmallow. Flash it. You may omit erase userdata, then all you apps and data usually are being kept. Do all updates.

I had the same issue and decided to go the safe way:
First you have to restore Stock Rom, following Step 7 here (don't do the steps marked in red and you will keep all your apps and data):

Second (very important) let your phone install all missing MM OTA's. Last one before Nougat should be from December!
Third depends on: If Nougat is available via OTA you are done. If not you have to download and sideload the correct OTA (depending on your Softwarechannel) via ADB. It's described here:

Last step is to root again - if you want.

oxygen os 4.0.3 how to flash twrp and gain root.

Hello i have oneplus 3 device and is currently running on oxygen 4.0.3 android version 7.0 with unlocked bootloader and oxygen os stock recovery. I want to flash twrp and need to obtain root. Can anyone answer what twrp and supersu version should i use with steps to do the same without bootlooping. Because i heard that it requires some modded twrp and also encryption problems are occuring for the same. Thanks in advance :laugh::good:

Follow the guide in the video to flash twrp and then when you are in twrp just flash the SuperSU zip ...

How To root Oreo Beta BND-L21 with Magisk?

Hi,
Unlocked bootloader,
Updated to Oreo Beta using manual method.
Currently running Stock No-Check Recovery, Stock OREO EMUI beta Firmware BND-L21.
Anybody rooted it using Magisk?
If so, please share the process.
Need root cause the sound on Oreo sucks & can't live without native adblock
& Also is there any full functioning TWRP for OREO EMUI for taking backup? All the TWRP I got had problems with backing up "/data" partition

OTA update for rooted MATE SE BND-L34

Hi, I'm not exactly well seasoned with this rooting stuff but was able to root my Mate SE with Magisk and it has TWRP.
My GPS/Google maps have been terrible and wanted to apply the new OTA update
I'm on build number BND-L34 8.0.0.358(C567)
Security patch August 1, 2019
Kernel Version 4.4.3+
Can someone point me to the guide to do this for the Mate se? Do I need to download the stock ROM for this phone somewhere? Thanks

Nothing special is required. Just update normally with stock recovery installed.

Thanks do you know what the commands in adb would be to flash new recovery? I know when I rooted nougat to oreo recovery2 was actually erecovery or something along those lines.
Do you know how I can downgrade back to nougat and then root that? My GPS isn't working at all.

If you're on Oreo, the command is "fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk [recovery]" where [recovery] is the name of the file you're going to flash, whatever it may be. twrp_3.1.1.img as an example. I'm not sure if it's possible to go back to Nougat. I have an L34 that came with Oreo. I think there is a thread that may be able to assist.

How to successfully update from Android 9 with TWRP, Root (magisk) to Android 10?

so I read all the threads regarding android 10 and mi a2 lite but i didn't find a proper solution or guide for the following problem:
I am on Stock Android 9 with unlocked bootloader, TWRP and Magisk Root.
Now i want to update to the v.11.0.4.0 Android 10 Update, but i want to keep root working!
Is there a way to do this?
If yes, please tell me how (i'm not a pro in flashing, so please explain in detail )
EDIT: i dont mind if i loose TWRP, i just want to keep root and android 10 working

Thanks for the answer, i already saw this thread but as I already said I'm not a big Expert in this topic, so that guide in the thread is too complex and short for me (and for other most likely too...)

You can't do it simpler. Mostly because you've got to get back to stock for the OTA.
You can do it different. Get the fastboot. Flash that (don't erase userdata). Then install Magisk and TWRP again.
Not every release gets a fastboot but 11.0.4.0 did so you have this option.

- what exactly should i do with these files? (flash with terminal, TWRP, Slot A, Slot B, etc.....)
- is it relevant which version of Android 9 i have?
you would help me alot, if you explain it in detail so that i can do it.
I already tried in android 10 unlocking bootloader and flashed the "disable force encryption" but got stuck on booting screen.
Pls tell me how exactly i should do what, and i will post my results

**Advise**
- Use the same files and versions that he uses, If you use/do something different, you are going to have some problems.

Install instructions in that thread. TL;DR Run the flash_all_keeping_userdata script to upgrade to the version you downloaded. 11.0.4.0 is what you want.
You have Magisk and TWRP. Install them the same way you did before. Go read their threads if you forgot or use the last part of my guide.

Hello Friends, i have good news, i successfully updated my Phone to android 10 and keep TWRP and magisk!
I did the following steps:
- clean install of fastbood v.11.0.4. Android 10 via Mi-Flashtool
- powershell adb: fastboot boot twrp-3.3.1-dees_troy-daisy.img
- TWRP should open on Mi a2 lite. go to advanced and activate adb sideload
- powershell: adb sideload twrp-installer-3.3.1-dees_troy-daisy.zip
TWRP should now be installed.
Then i tried a reboot system and got into the welcome screen, so it booted.
What i did next is, the magisk v20.4 zip file move to sd card or internal storage of the device and flash it trough TWRP.
DONE!
now your phone should reboot to system. It now has Android 10 and magisk installed and working!
