ZeroLemon (or other brand) extended battery case for G6? - LG G6 Accessories

I'm wondering if ZeroLemon will be making a battery case for the LG G6. I had the 10,000mAh for my Note 3, and love how long the battery lasts me.
They did manufacture battery cases for the G4 and the V20, but not the G5, so I'm worried they might not have a G6 one.
Or if other companies start making them, we can post updates in here as well.

I'm sure they will. They have been pretty active with extended batteries.

I got in touch with ZeroLemon over Facebook. Sadly, they said they don't plan to make a battery case for the G6, citing "technical difficulties".
I just wrote to Powerbear, and am awaiting a response.
Update: Response I got from Powerbear:
"We'll check into adding your requested unit as we continuously work on growing our product line."

Fingers crossed!

It means NO, they won't do it. I'm currently just using Quick Charge 3.0 Powerbank, it charges full in one hour. But i will be looking for extended battery case with a kickstand. I don't like hanging powerbanks.

I'm remaining optimistic that PowerBear can produce one; they did one for the LG G5, whereas ZeroLemon was unable to. If PowerBear makes a battery case for the Galaxy S8 before the G6, that's when I'll lose hope lol. Only time will tell though.
So far, an Anker powerbank is serving me well.

What's the technical difficulties? I wish LG would copy Apple and release their own, they're so superior to power banks I bet they'd sell a ton.

Can they make a "wireless" charging battery case? Seems that would be a big seller.

I'm really enjoying my G6 after years of Samsung- Couldn't bear the curved screen gimmick. The battery life is ok, but I'd really love to have some way to extend the battery- I'm so used to a zerolemon 10000 battery on a note 4, I'm totally spoiled. Even a power case would be fine by me, t'would be nice if the usb c on something like that would have a passthrough, but this is my first "sealed" phone without a removable battery, so I'm clueless what kind of options even could potentially exist for phones like this...
Cheers!

Probably none mate. How many other waterproof phones you know of with a similar external battery as you describe?

I don't think a phone being water-resistant excludes manufacturers from producing extended battery cases. Sure, with removable batteries in previous generation phones, all you had to do to put your battery case was take off the back cover, remove stock battery, and slip extended battery in. But even with today's water-resistant phones where you're unable to disassemble the housing, there are still external battery cases that simply have the battery fitted inside the case itself.
Samsung Galaxy S8 (IP68, same water-resistance as LG G6) has extended battery cases produced by ZeroLemon and Power
https://gopowerbear.com/collections...-month-warranty-and-screen-protector-included
https://www.zerolemon.com/product/s...ery-case-soft-tpu-full-edge-protection-black/
iPhone 7 has IP67 water resistance. Multiple manufacturers produce extended battery cases for it.

Just got in touch with Zero Lemon and they said:
HI,
Thank you for the inquiry .
Yes we are working on the case but there is no release date foe the time being .
Once available we will update that details on our website and Facebook account .
Best Regards,
Joey

Yes we have a plan on it. They said this a week ago on facebook

Yes it's coming out in July. See this forum. They just posted an Amazon link for it today

I'm curious, why does ZeroLemon not make those glorious hard plastic skeletons anymore? The G3 model is spectacular! I'm using it as we speak! I'm sorely disappointed with the lazy G4 and V10 slip-on cases. My G3 is a tank! I never flinch when I drop the phone.
I sure an impressed with their G6 solution. I'll be considering this phone now, rather than only arriving to the V20. But still, they withdraw the superb skeletal design. Can someone please explain to me why?

I think there's another thread about this but yes it's available. Just ordered my last week. Hopefully will get it early this week.

5400mAhr battery review - GNote

I've seen a few posts about spare / replacement batteries for the Galaxy Note. This one is about the Mugen Power 5400mAh Extended Battery (HLI-N7000XL) specifically designed for the Note (N7000 / International model). This is an internal battery, not a plug-in external unit.
To be clear, I'm not a professional reviewer and have no vested interests in Mugen. This is not a scientific review but based on my actual experience. For a more controlled scientific analysis of battery discharge time bv the minute, or whatever, you'll need to look elsewhere. However I believe it's real life experiences which really matter.
I tend to pick up first impressions of a product based on the visual quality of the packaging, case finish, instructions, etc. The Mugen product did not disappoint at this stage. It was simply packaged but effective in protecting the contents and easy to get into. The instructions where easy to read and make it clear that it's necessary to fully charge and discharge the battery for 3 or 4 times before it carries a full charge. This took well over week to achieve due to the long life of the battery between charges!
The Mugen battery is, as you might expect, physically larger and heavier than the stock Samsung Galaxy Note battery. But the increased size offers in excess of a doubling in capacity so with normal use needs much less frequent recharging. Indeed the main points of my comparison are size/weight, longevity, and price/value.
Physical Size and Weight
The thickness of Mugen 5400mAh battery at around 13mm is a fraction over twice that of the standard 2500mAh Samsung Note battery. This means the stock rear cover has to be replaced by a deeper one to accommodate the larger battery. The Mugen battery comes complete with the larger cover, which also incorporates a neat flip-out side stand. This turned out to be a handy addition and one I increasingly found myself using. The replacement case felt to be of at least as good quality as the original and fitted perfectly. The overall thickness of the Note roughly doubled so the overall effect isn't as sexy as the thin original, but in practise I found the Note was easier to hold, particularly when out and about. The Mugen case was also slightly pimpled, similar to the original, which gave a feeling of confidence that it wasn't going to slip out of my hand.
On to the battery itself. The weight of the stock Samsung Note and battery is around 180 grams. The Mugen 5400 and Note weighed in at around 240 grams. This represents an overall 25% increase in weight. In practise the heavier battery slightly changed the weight balance of the Note but after picking up and using the Note a few times I hardly noticed it. It did feel heavier when in my pocket but not uncomfortably so. I also found I could no longer slide the Note into some of my smaller pockets. To quote a great Yorkshire friend of mine: "You get owt for nowt", which in this case basically means if you want a larger capacity battery it'll take up more space and weigh a bit more! (This is almost true because Mugen do also market a slightly larger capacity standard sized battery at the original size.)
Longevity
First, just in case you don't know what mAh means: It stands for milli-Amp hour and basically it's a measure of battery electrical capacity or storage 'size'. Everything else being equal, the bigger the number the longer the electrical power should last. The issue is that for many non manufacturer supplied batteries everything else is not equal. The inequalities range from mislabelling/over ambitious claims (I call it lying), to poor battery design such that it overheats or leaks or just fails sooner than it should (some might call them cr*p batteries). Of course such inferior batteries are usually cheaper to buy!
I tested the stock Samsung Galaxy Note 2500mAh battery with WiFi and GPS permanently enabled and sync set to 30 minutes. I used the Note frequently throughout the day for 2G (voice and text), WiFi and 3G surfing, Facebook, Twitter, newsfeeds, email, diary and the occasional game. The battery was charged overnight using the USB from my Desktop, and so started the day at 100%. By 15:00 it was down to 30%. By 19:00 it was down to 10%.
I then did the same using the Mugen 5400mAh battery. By 15:00 on Day 1 the charge remaining was down to 70%. It reached 40% at 12:00 on Day 2 and 13% by 19:00 on day 2. Wow! This was over a doubling in elapsed time over the standard battery.
Real life experience:
The above test reflects much heavier use than I'd normally make of the Note during a typical weekday, where I'd see the stock battery at around 20% at 23:00 each day. At weekends I usually have to top-up the charge during late afternoon or risk running out.
Using the Note as I would more normally, but with the Mugen 5400mAh battery, I found that I used GPS more (I do a lot of walking and track my route) without worrying about running out of power. I was not having to think about saving power for later use as I knew there was plenty available. I also didn't have to top-up charge during the day at all. The Mugen battery comfortably lasted two days and sometimes three before reaching the 10% to 20% mark.
Price and Value
The RRP for the stock Samsung 2500mAh battery is around £20. This equates to 0.8 pence per mAh.
The RRP for the Mugen 5400mAh battery is £63 ($99) at time of writing. This equates to 1.16 pence per mAh. This price includes the replacement back cover.
So £ per mAh of capacity the Mugen is not a cheaper option, but it's all about usability. For instance you could always buy a second stock battery and manage the charging of two batteries at once, which means you'd also need to invest in a desktop charger at around £15, and be powering off the Note mid afternoon each day to swap out the flat battery. I'd soon get fed up with doing that!
For me and the way I use the Note this is a JDI. Just Do It (buy the 5400mAh Mugen). The few cons are far outweighed by the pros, and on the occasions when I want to show off the Note or make it a little more inconspicuous I can simply pop back in the stock battery and cover. But when I do I'd soon go back to using the 5400!
Details of the Mugen 5400mAh battery can be found on their site at mugen-power-batteries .com
I'll continue to use the battery and come back at some point with my experience of how well it stands up after prolonged use.
I'd love to see some real world pictures of it on your phone if possible. I'd be interested in this for when traveling.
I caved.

Good review mate Mugen Power is Awesome
post some battery usage pictures
Nicely done. Mine works pretty well, but I miss having a case to occlude the vol/power buttons, otherwise I'll accidentally press things whilst gaming. Apparently there's a couple of generic extended battery cases on ebay, so I'll give them a punt.
I have also bought the same battery, and another thing to take into equation is the excellent customer service of mugen. Fast and efficient

There have been quite a few discussions about how the "official Samsung" eBay batteries are just fakes that are made to look convincingly like Samsung OEM batteries, but aren't.
I always enjoy melting a £400 appliance with a £4 aftermarket battery. I could compare it to using a cheap 350W PSU in a top of the range gaming PC, you're going to see some smoke at some point.

Hi angelofmusic, first of all let me ask you what your address is so that I can give it to my employer, and he can send you the bill, as I have just killed 32min of my working time by watching your review......hehe
Now on a more serious note, I have no prejudice against women, but I was surprised when I click on the link that you have provided and find out you look like a 15 year old girl, which will look great in her 40s
I just hope that you would be living in the UK or even better in Belgium, so that the USA related part would not be as irrelevant to me.
All in all, great review. I find it strange that you did not come up when I was searching for reviews of this device. I thought I was them all, but apparently the day that my G.NOTE arrived from Amazon I saw your video. Well better late than never, and I can't hide that I was very pleased when you said that Amazon was a good choice for buying this device.
Well I better go back to work

Hi angelofmusic, you did not get my joke . In the beginning of the review you talk about your age, and you say that you might look young now but that means that you're going to look great when you'll be in your 40's. I knew that you were 23, as you have said it on youtube. The fact that I said that you look young, was a compliment (maybe not yet, but in 4 to 5 years you'll be jumping of joy inside when someone tells you that you look like a teenager)
As for the review, I liked your stile. I just got my Note today, and I am still trying to figure out what to do with it. The battery is at 46% after the initial setup of my gmail accounts and installation of some important applications like whatsapp
The important questions I have atm is, should I charge or should I wait. Here in Belgium its almost 2:40 so I might just charge it and go to bed. But too difficult to sleep when I just got to unpack my new toy and the neighbour is having a very loud party. Might just be faith telling me to stay up all night and play with my new device.
I will maybe look at the insurance that you got for your device. I have never insured a device before, but with an almost 2 year old running around the house I fear that not even my Otterbox commuter and careful placement of the phone will be enough.

permanent battery case usage for the Note?

Hi, there...
Friend of mine has an iPhone 4 battery case, like this one http://www.exogear.com/products-iphone-4.html
Now, I don't envy Apple phone users a bit, but am rather annoyed by the fact that so many companies produce the greatest number of accessories for 2, or 3 model that this company has, instead concentrating on all the other phones. The result being that I can hardly find a similar thing for my Note. Even when I was I was thinking about buying SII, I wasn't able to find anything as nice, except those cases/chargers in which you place your phone and then when it is full you can take it out and carry on with your life. But nothing which extends your battery life and becomes attached to your phone throughout the day.
The only thing I've found on the eBay is this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Slim-Li-I...ltDomain_3&hash=item2c661185fa#ht_5527wt_1163

looking for something like this?
It's a Chinese battery pack for the note ,can give about 45% extra charge, has a kickstand.
the quality is alright ,the price is 42$ ,and as you can see from the photos I haven't used it much and it's gathering dirt.
I can't remember the name ,nor can I find the box ,sorry.
but anyway , yes those things exist.
Thanks, all...
Yeah, I wasn't after something I'd use with my Note like all the time...
But, if I were to go somewhere for a longer period than a day and there was a chance I might use navigation quite a bit, or even driving for 4-6 hours with navigation on all the time... Esp. since someone here said that the Note doesn't charge as fast as it gets depleted battery during constant navigation use in a car.
So, a behemoth like this one would come in handy in situations like this...
might I suggest these

Since these charging battery cases add more bulk to the phone, why not just cash out on a Mugen 5400Mah battery? It does add some bulk, but tests I read somewhere showed that it received 9 hours of continuous screen time which is just ridiculous!

I don't think the problem is whether or not people are willing to cash out on Mugen, the idea is to find an alternative.....I myself am not willing to have my note THAT bulky, yes the external battery cases are a little bit bulky but compared to the Mugen its definitely more aesthetically pleasing. I'm looking for an alternative to making my Note last a bit longer, and also not ruining the sleek design of this beautiful phablet .

Battery Case recommendations

Hey everyone. I have seen countless threads for the Nexus 5 Battery cases.
Just wondering if anyone has tried this:
http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/251631021161?nav=SEARCH
Want to know if its worth it? Also, i have heard good things about the i-Blasin battery case and ZeroLemon ones.
Any feedback on a really good battety case would be appreciated
I have the Zerolemon, it arrived today. I can't comment on battery life yet but I'm very pleased with the case itself. It is particularly bulky but I prefer this to the bare phone, which i find far too slim. The extra size hasn't impeded on "thumb-reachability", I can still use it entirely one handed - in fact it sits far better in my hand as it actually has some weight to it and enough device to grip properly.
The built in screen protector does its job although I'll likely replace it with an adhesive glass one in the future, it's a bit naff. Buttons all work well, as does the camera flash - doesn't seem to impede image quality when it's used.
The belt clip I'll never use, and it's useless as a kickstand as the clip itself holds it at terrible angles. Could be repurposed as a car mount though without much trouble.

If it helps at all, the LG G2 battery they do should fit fine, albeit you'd need to buy the case separately.
I use the Spigen slim armor and its great

I've ordered the exact external battery case as shown.. Charging full for the 1st time now.. Looking good so far. No complains except the slow charging..
zerolemon urgent help needed!
I just bought a zerolemon extended battery for my nexus 5, but i dont know how to use it beside that ive charged it gor 12 hrs for initial use and it got over in just one day!
Maybe i didnt use it efficiently or any other issue,
If anyone has it please advice me how to use it effeciently!
Thanks!
Maybe users with external battery cases can share how they use their battery cases..
Is the zerolemon customber service good or they don't answer?
Is this any good? -> http://www.ebay.com/itm/3800mA-Exte...18?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item566ddadaa2
Price is good and installation seems easy.
Tommy this thing seems good but shouldn't a battery of 3800 mAh give your nexus a charge more than once? As nexus built in battery is 2300 mAh?
I am using zerolemon extended battery of 3500 mAh but it doesn't give me one complete charge though, but still its handy while you are travelling..
But the zerolemon is very bulky with 100% protection, this thing isn't bulky but as they claim its optimal protection, so my opinion is you given it a try, its worth it BUT @ your own risk
So can anyone give any reviews on the zero lemon case? Worth the money or what?

I don't recommend it for continuous use, until and unless you are someone who constantly is in journeys. The battery gives one n a half extra charges to your nexus 5..
I would rather call it an external charger, or a power bank, rather than external battery for nexus 5..
Hopefully I answered your query, there shall be any other query? Feel free to ask..
Thank you!

Why would you not recommend it for daily use? I'm trying to see the pros and cons. This is pretty much the most solid one of all the options we have for the Nexus 5.

I don't recommend it because I've used it, the charging input from the zero lemon to your nexus is weak, it will take 3 hrs to complete, and constant usage at the time of charging heats up not only your device but also the zero lemon battery...
I don't say its bad, but I wasn't satisfied with it, and yes comparatively zero lemon is the best... But ultimately there's no solution to this nexus battery problem..
U can still go for it.. But don't use zerolemon too much, except at the time of necessities..
Anything else?
I carry a vinsic 20000 MA battery and 2metre lead in my backpack. Just pull out as much lead as needed to reach my pocket. Soon charges with 2.1amps and fast charge. Better than a case imo. I use bluetooth adapter for music and calls so the phone stays in the pocket and I can use my Sennheiser cans with no lead.

ZeroLemon LG Nexus 5 ZeroShock Rugged Black Battery Case + 3500mAh Battery Review

Hello everyone! First and foremost I would like to thank Zerolemon for sending me the product up for review. As the title say, it's a rugged black battery case with a 3500mAh Battery pack.
This is an honest review to help Zerolemon improve future products, but also give an idea to others of what I think about the product.
Everything pretty much works as expected and I can't really complain, all the buttons work like a charm and the ports are easy to use when needed.
Here are what I think are PROS and CONS about the ZeroLemon for LG Nexus 5.
PROS:
* It feels sturdy, I doesn't feel like it's an issue and it's actually rather comfortable to hold.
* Takes a beating like a tank (I can almost imagine running over it with my car, and it would still be in working condition).
* The phone lasts much longer! Battery won't be an issue for me anymore, but I wish the mAh was higher so I could charge it less.
CONS:
* Too big (that's what she said)! No but really, I wouldn't want to walk around with something sticking out of my pocket (I have the Zerolemon for the LG G4 that I purchased and it doesn't even stick out as much).
* I hate the plugs for the ports (personal opinion)! They tend to get bad as time passes as I had the Zerolemon for the Samsung Galaxy S5 with similar plugs for the ports. It was just a real headache after a few months.
If there are any questions that you have, then please feel free to ask!
Please support Zerolemon so that they can keep making more options for other phones as most of their products are worth the money, you won't be disappointed!

I'm not sure, It depends on how many apps you have running in the background and how often/long you use the phone. It does help through out the day though if you're running low on battery.
the question is where to buy said battery case. I have a feeling that Zerolemon discontinued this product and all you can find are old leftovers. It pops on Amazon once in a while

Yeah, I had a hard time finding it as well because of that same reason. However, feel free to search around on ebay/Amazon or contact Zerolemon at: [email protected]

[Not recommended anymore!] [Update available!] 3000mAh battery mod [Lg g2 battery]

WARNING this battery was produced a while ago, even if you get an new one, it's old because it was lying around a long time now (decreased capacity, phone turns off while still at about 20-40%) ---- And, the battery I described im this post was a fake one. Later I purchased a original one, but it had the same life in it like my old nexus 5 battery
I'm gonna open a new thread soon with an updated guide, and a new battery by another phone
There it is! https://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/accessories/nexus-5x-battery-bl-t19-2700mah-battery-t3739848
Long life nexus5!

below is the old guide, you have been warned, I really don't recommend it anymore
I bought a new Lg g2 battery from Amazon because my sot was really short. You guys know the problem with those too fat batterys, so I ordered one that seemed to be flat.
I got a thick one seen here http://tanstartrade.ca/images/LG%20BL-T7.jpg
Okay, I thought, well then i don't have wireless charging ans NFC
But when i removed the layer on the battery, this is what i found: http://imgur.com/a/XJyJm
Cool I thought, that's just a piece of plastic that can be removed. My battery is now flat as it should be and you can do the same, if you still rock a Nexus 5, love this phone so much!
awsm man...can u tell me the procedure for this mod..nd the link for battery...

There are a lot of tutorials And i think you can buy every battery you want, search on Amazon. I just found out that every battery is flat.
Sorry, but I am confused... It seems two different mods exists: 1. LG G2 FLAT battery, no hacks needed. 2. LG G2 standard battery, hacks needed.
Could anyone please cast light on the 1. mod? I mean, where to purchase this kind of battery and so on.

That was my problem, i think the flat ones are fake. The thick ones have this plastic shield in in, by whatever reason. I managed to buy a flat one and it didn't work, the battery had very bad voltage, my phone turned off at 60%
The thick one is genuine i think. You just have to remove the sticker and plastic.
Thanks for the info @234herobrine432 . So you think that if I buy this battery I will only have to peel the "bump" and the sticker and it *should* fit in my Nexus 5?

Yes! I think, technically it's not even possible to build a battery with that weird increase. And the "not fake" batteries fit better in the nexus 5 than the flat one I bought. You don't even have to dremel something.
did you test dat? those are awesome news brother, does taht actually work? do you managed to remove that plastic?
do it for science please
I bought it

I bought the battery today. So, in a month more or less I could provide some news about it. I feel confident cutting and soldering battery connectors but I don't plan to use a dremel on my loved nexus 5 Hopefully this battery plus some kernel optimizations would improve substantially battery life. Going from 2.300 to 3.000mAh should suppose +30% increase!!!

How did you fit the larger G2 battery without using a dremel on the N5 frame ?
The battery I've got is actually unusable on a Nexus 5, it's large the same, it's thicker but you can actually make it flat, but it's anyway longer so it won't fit the phone without hardware workarounds!!
You can folt the battery, so it will fit, but make sure you don't tear the thin foil (like me)
Yes i ****ed my battery up, it still works bc i used tape but it's not the best solution
I bought another battery on amazon for 13€
it will arrive maybe tomorrow (or later)
I will take pictures how i fold it and fit it into my device
If somebody wants to know: i had 4 hours of sot with heavy usage with the new battery, now it dropped to 2 because of the damage yeah liion doesn't like O²
Screenshots of the battery please !!
I just checked my "thick" one (bought by mistake before getting flat one), definitely not a plastic piece for my bump.
First off, it was super hard to get under the wrap, found out it was because mine didnt have an "extra" piece on top of the foil wrap for the battery, I had to open the foil itself to see the bump.
An exacto knife and, ofc, one spark later, I found the bump is actually layers of copper connected to the control board...
I feel yours was basically a flat battery with the plastic in to make it look like the non-flat ones.
Battery has a plastic easy to remove, as the post claimed. See the pictures at
http://imgur.com/a/DnTB8
Detaching external plastic the battery seems to be enough thin for the Nexus 5 case.
It had just arrived yesterday. I will try to do my best and talk about the length of the battery, my only concern right now.
I will keep posting.
Long life XDA!
People, please post pictures of your modding procedures !
Thanks !
Any updates on this mod, photos and measurements? id like to see how well the battery you had posted about works.
Sorry guys for my late answer!
I have to apologize, the battery I ordered was fake, at least I now think that. My new battery is a real Oem one, so, it's thick and theres no way to remove this thickness
So I lost wireless charging and Nfc, and my phone is close to flat at the back (still a bit round) but I didn't have to grind anything, the battery board sits on the side, not on the top or botton, gonna upload some photos later here.
My Sot increased a lot, i now get 5h easy with a lot of usage (pdf file editing) bc i'm using it in University.
and the sot gets better and better because of callibration
(resettimg the battery stats file isn't all, obviously that's only a log file)
so yeah, when you don't need wireless charging, buy a battery for our lovely nexus 5, this phone is awesome!
