How to Enable Camera2 and shoot raw [Root] - Moto G5 Plus Guides, News, & Discussion

tested by a friend with a moto g5+
Enable Camera 2 API
via editing the build.prop
Code:
persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1
or
via terminal / shell
Code:
su persist.camera.HAL3.enabled 1
2) Reboot
3) Install Freedcam Attached below check if its in camera 2 mode swipe right > scroll down check api option if its in camera1 select camera2.
To the left of the ui you should see jpeg tap on either, raw10 and raw_sensor both are same but raw10 the dng file should is smaller as the data is packed tightly,
Lastly using other camera 2 camera apps will most likely result in a black unsuable dng this version of freedcam has a workaround for the moto G5+
To use manual controls swipe up and set ae "Auto Exposure" to off First icon is manual focus second iso third shutter speed.

Edit 5/21/2017 :
Freedcam Latest Build Moto G5+ Cam1 + Cam 2 raw support
Raw10 calibration override - causes matrix math error results in black dng
Raw10 Noise Profile override - causes color bleed

Well there is a problem with the dng metadata when shooting with the default android api so when using fv-5 you gotta use jpeg picture format

Has anyone else tried enabling camera2api on the g5+? Could someone post some DNG samples? Thanks

Sir can you please tell where should the light room profile files be stored on device ?

Would someone be so kind as to tell me what "Camera2" means, and, about why the download link is crossed out now in the OP?

For now I'm sticking with stock camera because I'm using xposed module for 20mpx in auto mod and Google camera (from you).
I found (I said that already) Google camera is better with moving objects so I'll use them both

Hi, i have also installed this nexus camera app and i can also see an HDR option in it, but when i take pics after turning this option ON i dont see any difference as compared to the stock camera app. In fact i rate stock camera app to be better than this nexus camera app.
But the pic which u had posted still tries to convince me to keep using nexus camera, the pic is marvelous .
Anyways m just asking u for any tips which u can give to me so that i can also capture some great pictures using this camera app, ur response is awaited

Well, the reason I searched for another app was that the stock one took blurry pictures and had very few settings.
Now for taking pictures: always take more then one. I have maybe 10-15 pictures of that fire out of which I only kept about 4 of them. Many will come out blurry or simply not satisfying enough. Try to center the picture well and play with the exposure settings until you find the right one. Also try tilting the phone up and down so that it modifies it's contrast and brightness automatically and you'll eventually see the picture you're looking for on the screen. Snap some pictures and move it slightly from picture to picture so that each is a tiny bit different. One of them will be THE ONE.
It's not a great camera, but I've seen a lot worse.
Protip: Nexus Camera allows you to make timelapses (Video -> Settings/Options -> Timelapse)
I honestly can't tell the difference between the stock app and other camera apps. The pictures they produce look very similar to me. Am I visually impaired ?

Asus Pixelmaster Camera on CM13

Hey everyone, I have an Asus Zenfone 2 Z00A, unlocked bootloader, and used twrp to flash Cyanogenmod 13 from the website along with gapps, so far it's amazing in everything except the camera, but I've searched alot about this and couldn't find a solution, I'd love to used Asus Pixelmaster Camera, The feature I loved about this app was the Super resolution mode, and I'd like to know if there's any way to make it work in CM13... I also tried to used Lucky Patcher to make it a system app but still can't use that mode, the photo's always pixelated and green... So i'm asking help to you experts...
Thank you
Best regards
Usually it will work only in hdr mode
