How are you relocking the bootloader? . As far as I know that is not possible.

re locking bootloader is possible. flash raw firmware. or flashing boot, recovery, fastboot and ifwi images.
@DarkshadoW99 very first of all you started new thread without searching around. and if you started a new thread your post is too confusing or lacking the context of your post. unable to understand what you actually want.
very first of all while unlocking bootloader with unofficial method. you may get error " failed too many links" but even though bootloader is unlocked pretty well.. ( mention which tool you are using to unlock bootloader)
second thing is you stated that you are trying to unlock bootloader to access recovery. what does it actually mean? do you want to flash custom recovery or your are unable to enter recovery mode?
"in marshmallow if you boot with unlocked bootloader the phone stuck on asus logo" what does this line means? are you stuck at asus logo? as far as i know you can boot in MM with unlocked bootloader too. unable to understand what you wanted to say.

Go back to Lollipop for bootloader unlock

Since there isn't any OFFICIAL unlocker for Zenfone 2 Marshamallow, your best bet is to go back to Lollipop abd having an unlocked bootloader but again, it'll be without Marshmallow:
Download official firmware latest release or whatever you had BEFORE installing LineageOS. Rename the the file you just downloaded to:
MOFD_SDUPDATE.zip
Click to collapse
and put it on an SD-Card, put the sd card in your phone, boot into recovery (by booting to fastboot and selecting recovery) and the restore should start automatically.
Now at this point you'd be back to stock marshmallow and you can downgrade back to Lollipop ( V52.20.40.197--be mindful the link is for the JP SKU and you need to download the right SKU version for your phone in case you have WW --didnt see you specify or not, so maybe you want to check you downloaded the right Lineage OS as well as maybe thas why its freezing ) to use Asus' Unlocker.apk [You can find instructions on official Asus website under support]

If the last thing he installed was LinOS then he has twrp for recovery. I don't think that method will work.

That's a very valid point, but since his post is vague and quite confusing, unless Lineage has a function within the ROM to "relock the bootloader" I would've assumed he "relocked the bootloader" by installing/fastboot flashing some official boot.img and since he cant get into recovery and his bootloader is locked, I had imagined he'd be back to stock fastboot.
but meh, my guess is as good as any. Unless the OP adds some clarity, we can at least say we tried, amirite?

I use the STOCK ROM 0.78 ww
I'm with the unlock bootloader problem even in rom stock.
I lock bootloader again, and then use that?
It only works if you use custom rom? Or also in stock?

have you worked on method to re-lock bootloader..
bricked my bootloader
After flashing this I couldn't access my fastboot. Now I can't even boot to system. I'm stuck at the USB logo, where usually I could reboot to fastboot (via pressing Power & Vol +) to fix this. But now I can't even access fastboot. When I press Power & Volume Up, it shows a battery icon. Please do help @XHook.

Sorry for panicking back there. I forgot the reboot to recovery way using Power & Volume down. At least I can still boot to my system. I'll try to find a DIY solution for this. Sorry for panicking, @XHook.
Your tool uses Fastboot of 4.3 version right? Is that the difference?
no more update? camera not found, can this method by xhook solve the problem?
i've tried this version, but make my bootloader missing/bricked, same with ezrawk post
Note : When I installed this version >> 3.24.40.87 latest stock lollipop firmware
@XHook, tell me what your firmware version when you install this UBL method.
Thanks

I was using a custom recovery (TWRP) at that time so I flashed a fastboot via install. If you aren't using a custom recovery, you'd probably want to check this out: Zenfone 5 A500CG, Zenfone 6 A600CG Last chance to debrick (This fix youre IMEI) by swiczak
About the flashable fastboot, try searching for it in the Help & Troubleshooting part, I think the user who upload the flashable fastboot zip was tank0412. Try PM-ing him. Sorry can't help you about this 'cause I forgot where I saved mine.

Unlock bootloader without any bugs [Official method by ASUS]

Hi there,
I want to share with you a bootloader unlock method that worked perfectly for me.
STEPS:
Download official stock kitkat rom: ROM
Extract boot, fastboot and recovery from it and flash them from fastboot then flash the rom
Download official Asus tool for unlocking bootloader: TOOL
Install it and follow the procedure
If all goes fine when you switch on the phone the background behind the Asus logo is white instead of black.
It's easy and maybe a "stupid" method but it worked on my Zenfone 5 T00J.
The firmware listed in this topic is the only for me that allowed to use correctly the unlocking bl app.
If there are problems, I'm available :good:
do you have unlocker tool for zenfone 6 ?
My bootloader is alwery unlocked, but with black background, now I unlocked with this and its white, great , I was tired of that bootlogo
Works the same as all other methods, doesn't fix "freeze" or "no camera" issue...

[Help me!] My Zenfone 2 always brick when I try to install a ROM

Hey! I have a Zenfone 2 ZE551ML (Z00A) which always brick when I try installing a new rom. The first time I tried installing RR and so, I downgraded to Lollipop so that could use Asus official tool to unlock my bootloader, then I flashed a TWRP recovery (I'll post the file here) through fastboot and booted to recovery mode. I used the TWRP recovery to then install ASUS rom for Android 6.0 (because the RR thread says I must have Android 6 previously installed) then I restarted and.... got bricked. To unbrick, I used this tutorial from here (one that teached me how to use xFSTK and fastboot to bring my phone back to life) and then unlocked the bootloader and flashed the TWRP recovery, did the update to 6.0 then when I tried to flash RR TWRP says I can't install it (I got error 7) the I reboot and got bricked again. Can someone here please help me?

There's a lot going on here. You need to spend some time reading through the threads. Basically, you can't flash the official asus rom with twrp. It requires stock recovery. And you need to be sure to have the correct bootloader for the custom rom you are installing. Basically, Lollipop roms based on stock rom and Cm13 based roms need Lollipop bootloader. Marshmallow roms based on stock mm rom and LinOS 14.1 based roms need the Marshmallow bootloader. That's where your error 7 was coming from.
Again, read the first post of the Rom you want to install carefully. It should tell you what you need.

Help needed ! stuck in Bootloop

Hey guys. Today I tried rooting for the first time using this guide
In the third step of the article "3.Flashing TWRP and Rooting via TWRP" I pressed cancel when it asks for an encryption password(I hadn't put one yet). I also flashed the english TWRP( Recovery file) and not the one provided in the article . Now the phone just wont boot. Whenever I try to boot it, it gives me the error message:
"Your device has been unlocked and cannot be trusted.
ID: N/A"
And TWRP comes up everytime .
When i try booting from factory it shows:
"Your device has been unlocked and cannot be trusted.
ID: bad key"
and TWRP comes up.
The phone is still recognized in adb.I still haven't flashed SuperSU if that helps.
Should i Flash stock recovery and try again ?
Please send help, guys.

I have similar problem like yours. The solution to boot your drvice. If your in twrp go to advance - reboot - bootloader. And in bootloader menu click start. And your phone now is booted
This is a alternative solution. But it wont damage your device. Trust me

I don't think I messed with the OS . I just unlocked the bootloader and flashed TWRP without flashing SuperSU.(done it for the first time for my Moto Z play). Used Wipe to clear davlik, cache and that's it.haven't done anything in the recovery since then.
The only thing i remember messing up was to not input the encryption key when it prompt me for it by clicking cancel.
I've read in some forums that it doesn't boot if it doesn't have SuperSU flashed, but I'm not sure if it's safe since i don't exactly know what might or might now permanently brick my phone.
Also some forums had something to do with patching the kernels (don't know if that's what you call it) but i don't know if it's a safe thing to do since it might also permanently brick my phone.
Running Nougat April Security Patch.

You used the Chinese TWRP originally? Now you have alberto97 TWRP? Is this correct?
I would flash a custom ROM, why I'm saying that is it's far safer flashing a zip ROM than trying to flash the stock firmware.
Again I will remind people the flashing bootloaders on moto devices will inevitably cause hard bricks if you downgrade and the accept an ota.
---------- Post added at 06:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:39 PM ----------
The only solution and this applies only if you want to remain on the stock ROM.
Download the retail firmware and only manually flash the boot.img, the 10 sparsechunks and the OEM.img.
Do not use rsdlite!!
This should boot your phone.

I would install the aosp ROM as it is bare bones android.
As for bootloaders, when you receive an ota it flashes a new bootloader.
What some folks have done is because they feel like a new ota isn't working to their liking, they have downgraded their firmare, either by flashing the firmware package that can be downloaded. They flash the entire package including bootloader, what this does is set up a perfect hard brick scenerio for moto devices.
They accept an ota or for reasons that are beyond uderstanding, sideload the package and bam as soon as they restart there device it bricks their device due to the mismatched bootloaders.
You are unlocked and the easiest way to prevent hard bricks is to for go flashing firmware.
I'm running validus 7.1.2 on the original bootloader that was installed on MM.

Is it fine if i go ahead with this and see if it works ?
I will try to flash a custom ROM if it doesn't.

That's fine and it's my ROM lol.
You may want to format your data but first try to flash the ROM and see if it boots.
That Chinese TWRP is a nasty thing

Bro are you sure you followed my instruction? In twrp menu click on reboot>bootloader
Then it will boot the device in bootloader mode. And in the bootloader menu click on "start" using the power button. Then it will boot your phone. Everytime you reboot your phone do the same step. If you want to get rid of that thing you need to flash official rom via rsd lite

Rsdlite sucks, never flash any firmware with resdlite unless you know which lines need to be removed from the text file that tells rsdlite what to flash.
manually flashing firmware is IMO much safer and all you need to flash is the boot.img all the spareschunks and oem.img

Hardbricked mi Max 3

I ****ed up.
I was coming from miui weekly eu version, I wanted to flash a GSI image. I did in twrp, GSI pixel experience arm a only. Didn't boot further till mi logo. So fastboot flashed miui10 stable and booted till setup screen. Boot asked for a password after GSI boot. So I wanted to try a different GSI and reflashed. Didn't work also. Again fastboot flashed miui10, this time I forgot to unselect 'format and lock' didnt saw that. Now it won't boot in system and twrp, and also can't unlock bootloader anymore with mi unlocked as my phone is somehow not linked to my account anymore.
What am I supposed to do now?

Yes I tried flashing custom recovery. Says it can't flash it as my bootloader is not unlocked. Did the fastboot flash again because I wanted to do a deep clean flash again. But forgot to unselect the lock button. Now its locked and only booting in standard miui recovery and fastboot.

Why did you keep using fastboot to flash stock most of these need xiaomi.eu ROM as a base which can be flashed via twrp whatever version you use and it's because you chose flash all and lock hence your stuck now as can't unlock bootloader. I just recovered mine from ARB EDL brick as invought it cheap in that state. You need to flash a stock version version that's suitable to get stock working then attach your account in settings so bootloader unlock can work. My model was Chinese so I needed flash Chinese stock and started again. If your phone was originally Chinese start there then unlock the bootloader etc.

In a nutshell flash and lock with stock version for phone as if Chinese flash and lock won't work with a global stock ROM. Flash a Chinese stock to get back into system and start over again

Yes flash the latest official Chinese not global stock using mi flash tool as that will get your phone back up and running on stock. Then add your account in settings so bootloader unlock can see it. Enable dev setting tick OEM unlock and add account. Unlock your boot loader and your back again mate. If you could have unlocked your boot loader the global would boot but not while it's locked.
1. Flash latest CN firmware
2. Add account in settings after set up
3. Try bootloader unlock again should not have to wait if unlocked before
4. Flash twrp and keep copy of xiaomi.eu ROM on your micro SD card as that's all you need to flash in recovery to return to stock. It's flashed via recovery without errors

Just tried flashing "nitrogen_images_V10.0.6.0.OEDCNFH_20181019.0000.00_8.1_cn" with fastboot and it instantly gives me an error: "Erase boot error".
What must I do now?

I tried the newest version of chinese rom: "nitrogen_images_V10.2.1.0.PEDCNXM_20190214.0000.00_9.0_cn". Same error. It simply can't flash it as my bootloader is locked......
Anyone who can fix this hard brick gets $10 worth of Bitcoin or Ethereum from me.
Hmmm, if you bootloader can be unlocked. I can help you because I hard-bricked my phone because of the Anti Rollback by flashing an earlier version of global pie beta over the current one (10.2.1.0). I had someone from the s-unlock website unbrick my device for me because my Mi account had no authorization to finish the Mi Flash process. So instead, the tech guy used his authorized mi account to bypass the Mi Flash install remotely on my computer to make my phone work again.

My account is verified but I am not signed into it on my phone as I can not boot into system.
Basically you need to flash the latest version of the Chinese stock miui but I haven't seen any tool that does that while bootloader is locked. You won't be able to unless you have bootloader unlocked. It bootloader gets unlocked phone will boot normal but your account should still been linked as phone was signed into it previously. Strange that it won't recognise your account when using the bootloader unlock tool

That is the problem. I was booted into system but skipped the option for logging into my mi account as it was only to get past the unlock screen. Then did the clean flash again but then with the flash all and lock then I couldn't boot into system anymore. I'm seriously in trouble now, I loved this phone. Thankfully I still have a Mi A1 which I use now but it kinda sucks tho.
I guess its the end for this device.
I cant boot into system. I cant flash TWRP as my bootloader is locked (Token verify failed).
Getting error while flashing with fastboot: https://imgur.com/a/VAa7R9o
Mi Max 3 was a good one, RIP
