LG g5 doesn't ask for unlock code - Sprint LG G5 Questions & Answers

My LG G5 Ls992 doesn't prompt for unlock code and when I try to call a specific number for an unlock code prompt it says "Connection lost or invalid IMEI code"

Hi, I bought LG G5 Ls992 on ebay.com. Seller tolled me that it was paid of so I asked him to call sprint and unlock it, so he did it. But now phone only works on sprint card. When I put other carrier sim in it it doesn't ask for unlock code, on the status bar there is Sim card icon with an exclamation mark. I tried all this methods but no solution. Can u help me somehow?

lg g5 no prompt to unlock
I also have a sprint locked g5 that does not prompt for code with Verizon or att sim can anyone help I have the code just need somewhere to enter it

I'm pretty sure the ls992 does not prompt for an unlock code. There's a guide here on xda to unlock the phone yourself, it's fairly simple.

Yes zvc is only unlockable from remote unlock service on ebay but make sure they can unlock apn settings also or no mms or data.
Zvb-zv8 can use the free method available

Just make sure that it unlocks the apn settings. If its permanant. And for your info do not update ever again. Cause. The ones unlocked on zvb where undone by update. Thus relocking device. Some of the unlocks where also undone by factory resets.

You can only unlock the phone via code. You cannot use the free unlock method.

I am not talking about the free unlock method, I am looking for a cheap online website that I can get an unlock code from.
I would search ebay for cheap codes. Places like mobileincanada.com are very reliable and reputable but not cheap. Telus phones should be cheaper than Bell.
I've used fastgsm.com in the past to unlock Samsung phones for 15 USD. They unlock via software and it is permanent.

That I don't know. You may have to be completely stock to get the prompt to enter the unlock code.

I am on this stock rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
The ROMs are stock other than being pre-rooted. I'm not sure if you will get prompted to enter the unlock code.
You could try a non-Telus sim to see what happens. Just don't enter a code so you retain all unlock attempts before hardlocking the phone.

XT1952DL ?

The XT1952DL G7 Play is called "Optimo" by Straighttalk, (ST) & Total Wireless , and "Revvlry" by T-Mobile.
I have the ST version; the bootloader is locked with the "OEM Unlock" option (in Developer Options) greyed-out. And, the mobile network is locked to ST/Verizon.
I own the phone (not blacklisted) but haven't had it long enough for ST to give me an unlock code.
Is there ANY way to unlock this XT1952DL???
Thanks, Will C.

Basically any Moto or phone in general from Verizon or att cannot be bootloader unlocked as the mentioned carriers do not allow it
XT1952DL - SIM unlocked
I got the SIM unlocked on my ST Moto G7 Optimo.
'Was locked to StraightTalk (VZW), but now works fine with a GSM (At&t mvno) sim card.
However, the bootloader is still locked down tight!
Would love to get rid of that ST/TracFone firmware!

I was able to unlock it. Find usb unlock for Optimo Xt-1952. They log remotely on the phone to unlock it.
Great find, I googled that and have to say I was unsure but gave it a go. I have a Tracfone version that was on Walmert Family Mobile, tried to put my Canadian sim in but didn't get any unlock prompts, took it to an unlocking service but they couldn't do anything with it.
Read you post and googled it and they managed to unlock it on the 2nd attempt, great service was all done within 30 mins of contacting them, like you said bootloader is still locked but nothing much I can do about that.
Unlock
So I've Google what you posted about you unlocking your phone & can't find anything , I have a straight talk "tracphone" would love to unlock, is there anything thing u can tell me to help me do so

Is the T-Mobile OP7T (HD1907) screwed because of the locked bootloader?

I've read here that the bootloader is locked on T-Mobile's OP7T, are we screwed when it comes to rooting? Doing a search for HD1907, I hardly see anything related to rooting it successfully. Has anyone done it yet? Is there hope for us HD1907s?
Thanks!

You can request a sim unlock from mobbdeep and you'd be able to unlock your bootloader once you sim unlock your phone. Then you can proceed to convert to international if you please.
Edit: it's a week wait period just like previous tmo OnePlus devices we should know this.

Bootloader unlock is in the developer options section of settings. you have to get the unlock token and submit it to OnePlus for your unlock bin. Once the unlock bin is flashed you're bootloader unlocked.

Know of any disadvantages to switching to the US Global version of the OS? Seems like those are being updated faster than the T-Mobile versions.
I'm planning on writing up some documentation about the conversion process once I get my unlock code (should be here tomorrow which means it might take me a few days to mess with it and get it all nice and neat)

How did you get an ETA for the unlock token? I submitted it but never received an email stating that they got my request.

You don't. It takes exactly 7 days from when you submitted it. You can check back on the site you submitted the request on and you'll see when it's done, and you can then download it from there. Pestering OnePlus or T-Mobile does nothing, you won't get it any faster.

Hi, you can unlock the carrier by reflashing the OS on the phone. PM me if you have further inquiries.

Really? Just got in contact with the seller and he will unlock it with EE.
But can you flash the pixel on locked bootloader? and it will get rid of carrier lock as well?
.
Yes, it gets rid of the carrier lock and it changes to the International version. Though there is another way you can unlock it and that doesn't require flashing the phone.

I would not trust this muhammad guy as he is using "sim unlock" language interchangably with device lock. If it is a verizon locked device with OEM unlock greyed out, it is my understanding there is no way to ever fix that. Verizon is the one that implemented that lock, they will not help you unlock it, even if you tell them you are a developer. They tell you to get a google pixel phone directly from google for developer purposes.
having your phone "sim-unlocked" is very different from the device being unlocked.
v12xke said:
If you have already 100% WIPED your phone, skipped through setup and gone straight to dev settings with an active Wi-FI signal and get a greyed out OEM unlock , you will likely never succeed because you inadvertently purchased a bootloader locked phone. SIM unlocked definitely does not equal BL unlockable.

Question Can i use the u1 firmware on xfinity locked variant?

Can i use the u1 firmware on xfinity locked variant and have the network unlock code appear?
I to have a sm-f926u and would like to unlock from xfinity. Any info on this. I've been burned three times by different unlocking services. I've came here to search what I can do and what's available. Please help.
You can absolutely flash the U1 firmware on any U device. But that won't unlock your SIM. The U1 firmware was intended to be a bloat free software for the factory unlocked devices. It was never intended as a means to unlock the device.

You don't need a 3rd party unlock service if your Xfinity Mobile phone is paid in full, and have had the phone for over one month.
https://www.xfinity.com/mobile/support/article/how-to-unlock-android-phone
You can request an unlock from them via online chat, although it is better if you go to the store and get the code from them, for the reason below.
Long story made shorter, the unlock code that Xfinity provided for my Note 9 did not work, so I went to the store, and they used the 'Unfreeze' code (which is supposed to reset the unlock code entry counter, as the phone is permanently locked to the carrier after 3 incorrect attempts) which removed the SIM lock. I didn't use the unlock code on my Wife's Note 9, instead opting to use the Unfreeze code that I asked the agent at the store to provide instead.
