F.A.Q
Q. What if my IMEI is bad or blacklisted?
A. There are a few times of blacklist... T-Mobile seems to block INTERNAL only if non payment. Others will block if non payment or lost/stolen.
This does not effect SIM unlock, I can do it regardless.... However, you WILL NOT GET NETWORK SIGNAL IF BLOCKED
Check here for T-mobile https://www.t-mobile.com/verifyIMEI.aspx and also here for all models http://imei24.com/blacklist_check/
If you are not sure ask first!
Q. Can you change/repair my IMEI?
A. HELL NO. This is not only against XDA Rules but it is illegal in most countries, including mine.
Q. Is this really free?
A. Yes, although I do hope for a donation for my time and effort
Q. When are you available?
A. See below.
Q. Can we get on with it all ready?
A. Yes!

I appreciate the unlock you did for me over a year ago, and i personally think its awesome that youre putting this out there for folks to get their phones unlocked mate!! Very nice work sir. Keep it up!! Question for ya tho, the process to unlock something like an S5, it requires a piece of hardware that youre using on your end, correct?

S5 T-Mobile? No idea. I think it's Qualcomm based and all the hardware unlocks are only for Exynos T-Mobile. Hence no support for S7/S8 T-Mobile too

Successfully unlocked my T-mobile s6 edge after i tried for days. Worked like a charm. I love this guy. I offered him sex but he politely declined. Pay this guy for his time!
Edit: Paid! sorry it took 6 hours. errands. and no it was not demanded. donated.

.can you help me unlock s6. From boost. I got hit by a truck and my phone broke. I don't trust people online. But xda always. Boost to mobile. ? Please. Lmk

Hey guys, I just noticed in his original post stifilz mentions there not being a direct unlock for the s7 frmo tmobile but there is a service that does instant usb unlocks on T-Mobile S7 and edge variants. Unfortunately its a paid service and expensive but i have used and know for a fact it works and isnt a server side unlock. If you guys want info just inbox me. I dont want to hijack stifilz thread much other than to say there are definitely hardware/usb unlocks available for T-Mobile S7 variants (ATT and it's S7 active too)

Still offering this guys

This guy is great. It was a struggle because my system was antiquated and my internet is slow, but he managed to GSM unlock my SM-G900P Galaxy S5. I sent a donation.

Im still doing this been very few at the moment :/

Directions Unclear. I've created a black hole, and we're all screwed.
Forgive me, if I'm being particularly dense, but I'm a little unclear about this whole process. Is this Flexihub business mission critical? Or is it just one of the available options. The reason I'm asking is that I can't easily get access to a PC. Is this a deal breaker, or is an alternative available? As far as I can determine, access to a PC is the only qualification that I'm lacking.
Thanks for the effort you must be putting into providing such a generous service

Okay, I've done some further reading. It makes sense. Guess I'll just have to surilvive without unlocking.

I'm having a problem, in the settings of my s6 edge the phone model is sm-g925f but the baseband is G925TUVU4 it means the phone is a t-mobile phone and now I want to flash the latest nougat firmware of t-mobile and I want to know if I do so will it lock my phone and I won't be able to use another sim card?

[Root/Unlock] LG Optimus F6 T-Mobile

Hello users I have recently bought a new T-Mobile LG Optimus F6.
For those of you who may have just purchased one or need one rooted and or unlocked here is how to do it.
Root:
Download MotoChopper.zip that is attatched at the bottom.
Then place your phone in Debugging mode. Also check unknown sources in security.
Unzip the MotoChopper and look for "run.bat"
Once that is all done you should have root access.
Unlock:
I use Blowfish Unlocks. You can use who ever you prefer.
Dial *#06# and that will be your IMEI number.
Next submit for the code and wait.
When it comes back use: SIM_UNLOCK=00000000000000
Now to enter the code you have to put in a non supported sim and dial 2945#*500#
Then choose Network Unlock and enter your code. If the first code doesnt work do not panic.
You have 10 attempts and you usually get back 5 different codes. Try them until one works. But to be sure double check that you submitted the right IMEI to begin with.
Enjoy
works

What I did after root: Uninstalled all the bloatware... added beats audio, and wifi tether...
Pretty cool phone... I sure do miss my HTC one S
I already sold mine but it was very good. The battery life on it was great. But I moved on to the Note 2 Tmo and hopefully I can sell the Note 2 and get the Note 3

Question about the rooting
Is the rooting all that is needed to enable tethering without the paying of an additional fee to T-Mobile? Basically being held hostage....... and will the phone be capable of OS updating in the future?

Do you or anyone know how to un-root the phone aftter running the motochopper? I've been looking everyone on the web and cannot find this. I'm worried in case there is ever a hardware issue that we need to unroot to get serviced.

what's the difference T-mobile v MetroPCS
Metro sold me the F6 based on the fact it works on the T-mobile networks LTE. However, I am having a hard time living with an unrooted phone so I'm hoping to use motochopper to root. But someone said it will not work. Is there really that much difference between those sold by T-mobile and those from Metro?
I "upgraded" from a Motion to have bigger screen, and now I find out that may have actually been a step down? WTF!?
All I want to do is unbloat and get rid of "insufficient storage" errors. Shouldn't be so tedious!

You can root with the vroot method.
There's some questions about what it does exactly but it does work. I should point out that the program and its cousin program are under community investigation due to possibly shady dealings with pulling and pushing files. Its cousin program (kango or something) Has been shown to pull imeid off phones and apparently send them, unencrypted, to a Chinese server.... but it's the only thing I've found to be a proven working root.
Can't unlock boot loader so no custom roms but you can debloat.
I've discovered that both my l9 and my f6 hold onto the storage allotment for moved downloads...
Not sure if you get my drift...
If you download a file to internal and move it to sd it still shows up in "downloads" when you check the storage in your settings.
To solve it open settings/storage/unmount sd and then open downloads under internal storage and delete files you know you moved.

With this "vroot", would it be safe to root while disconnected from networks to prevent unauthorized sharing of imei?
I thought of trying that myself but never got around to it.

[ROOT] Root your G2 [ATT|VZW|TMO|KT|RGS|BELL|TELUS|OPEN] [Yay!]

Howdy everyone!
Here's another neat root!
What is this?
This is a very simply and easy to use root package for the LG G2.
For now I'm calling it IORoot, despite the fact that it's not really all that deserving of a name.
Which phones does this support?
Currently the following phones are supported by this root package:
AT&T G2 (D800) - D80010d
Verizon G2 (VS980) - VS98010B (Shipping ROM)
Verizon G2 (VS980) - VS98011A (OTA)
T-Mobile G2 (Shipping ROM)
KT F320k (Shipping ROM)
Rogers D803 (Shipping ROM)
Bell D803 (Shipping ROM)
Telus D803 (Shipping ROM)
OPEN D802 (Shipping ROM)
How do I use this?
Here's a video!
Or, in List Form:
Ensure you have the proper USB drivers installed, and your phone is in the proper mode (For Verizon, use Ethernet mode on the PC settings menu)
Enable Developer Mode on your phone and enable USB Debugging
Extract this zip file somewhere on your PC
Run root.bat
The phone will ask you to disconnect USB, disable USB debugging, then re-enable it and plug the phone back in, do so when prompted
You will then be asked if you would like to have a superuser package installed, which you can accept or decline
Why is it asking if I want to 'trip rootchecker'?
LG's phones come with some software loaded that detects the presence of root on a phone, and invalidates your warranty.
Rooting the phone, by nature, voids your warranty. You can put your phone in a special mode where ADB shell has root permissions, however your phone is not technically 'rooted' by app standards.
You will not be able to use 'root required' apps on your phone if you do not let the root script install Superuser.
Okay, where do I get this?

This is confirmed to work for the ATT and Verizon variants, I'll add support for T-Mobile as soon as I get someone in #lg-g2 in Freenode who owns one.
Simple:
Ensure you have ADB drivers installed and USB Debugging enabled
Extract this .zip file somewhere
Run the root.bat file, and read the instructions
During the installation, you'll have to disable USB Debugging and re-enable it, then the app will ask you if you care about rootcheckerd (rctd).
If you don't want your phone to show "rooted" in download mode, or in settings, hit CTRL-C when prompted and you'll just have a root shell through ADB.
Personally, this is enough for me, but if you want full root, press continue and it'll install superuser and a superuser binary for you.
PLEASE do not mirror this! It makes my life easy if I can just edit the file on my server if need be instead of contacting all the mirrors.

Can you explain the difference between root shell (leaving it to say unrooted) and "full" root? Will this affect once we get a way to unlock the bootloader or get a recovery for roms? And is there a way to unroot? Thanks for this!!

Root shell allows you to have root only through ADB. Apps on the phone will not be able to use the root functions of the device if you don't let my script install superuser.

The other thread contained a link to a root that could possibly compromise your phone's security (and your desktop too, since there's all sorts of other stuff in those exe files).
If someone pops into the #lg-g2 chan with a TMO phone I'll gladly support TMO as well!
If you did happen to use the old root, I'd recommend restoring your phone back to stock with the TOT / KDZ files before applying this root.

You need to have the android sdk installed on your computer. I find it easier to use a distro of linux but windows is fine too. Find android sdk install and make sure adb is in the /platform-tools folder. Then run this adb devices cmd with your phone attached via usb and if it works you should have an rsa security pop up on your phone you have to allow. Then your phone is connected via adb.

[Q] How to activate PERSO SHA256 OFF menu?

Hello There.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini model GT-I9195 (rooted)
Android Version 4.2.2
Baseband Version I9195XXUBML4
Kernel Version 3.4.0-2340422 [email protected] #1
Does anyone knows how to activate PERSO SHA256 OFF on the sub menu Network Unlock? Because i can only access one option in this menu 1. PERSO SHA256 INFO .
No ON or OFF option.
Thanks

Some Useful Examples
Example-1: Removing SIM network lock
Code:
[SIZE=2]UMTS MAIN MENU[/SIZE]
[SIZE=2][1] DEBUG SCREEN.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=2][6] PHONE CONTROL.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=2][6] NETWORK LOCK[/SIZE]
[SIZE=2][3] PERSO SHA256 OFF[/SIZE]
[SIZE=2]Go Back to Main Menu[/SIZE]
[SIZE=2]UMTS MAIN MENU[/SIZE]
[SIZE=2][6] COMMON[/SIZE]
[SIZE=2][6] NV REBUILD.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=2][4] Restore Back-up.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=2]Reboot[/SIZE]
This has not been tested by me, since I don't use SIM locked providers.
So make sure you have a complete NANDroid backup of your phone in case something
goes wrong. I do not take any responsibility for damaged phone due to this procedure.
Please confirm if this method works for this phone.

Did you carefully read the entire other thread? Did you see that perhaps there are other "things" you need to do to get to certain menu items... You need to post more detailed info about your device as well. "getprop" and "uname -a" output for example.

Hi EVA yes i red the entire thread, and the "things" i did to try to get to certain menu items was.
1. Unblock the KeyString file with:
echo -n "OFF" > /efs/FactoryApp/keystr
2. Enable the carrier HiddenMenu file with:
echo -n "ON" >/efs/carrier/HiddenMenu
What do you thing i Should try next ?
Thank you
This is my getprop !
Hmm, no idea. Your device seem close to identical to mine, except for your being MEO. Did you try this with a different SIM? Is it rooted with SELinux "getenforce" set to Permissive?
Perhaps someone else can help.
I never buy locked phones, so I have no idea how to deal with those issues.
Perhaps connecting using QPST and remove lock. There are probably other easier to use tools out there, but they have some steep learning curve for non-developer or Android skilled people. Continue Google is my only good suggestion, or take it back to shop and say you're going abroad and need an unlocked SIM/phone whatever.
Good luck.

Thanks for the Help @E:V:A
Yes i tried withe a different SIM, still get the unlock code request. When i type sestatus commands i get nothing, but when i type Getenforce i get Enforcing. And i dont know how to change it to Permissive.
Is it easy to use QPST to unlock?
As for the shop they wanna charge me 80 Dollars to unlock...
Btw do you think if i change the MODEM i can unlock it? where is the information about locking sim is? on the firmware modem?
Google is my best friend but im getting out of options.
Thanks once more.

Remove Hands Free Activation (HFA) from a Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6

Hello All,
Mainly I want to get rid of Hands Free Activation ("HFA") which is a huge nuisance. I'd prefer NOT to trip KNOX, but if I have to then I will just go have to because HFA is worse I think. If there is a way to disable HFA without rooting at all, that would be the best choice for me!
I bought this phone second hand for use with GSM outside of the USA.
My specs are as follows:
Model: SM-G920P
Android 6.0.1
Samsung Galaxy S6
build: MMB29K.G920PVPU3CPB6
I'm a technical guy but not really a phone expert, so if anyone can tell me on a high level how to remove HFA or root my phone I'd appreciate it. I think once rooted I can disable the HFA app, but as things are now I cannot disable it. Sometimes I can kill the app, but it comes back anyway.
Thanks!
Additional Information
I wanted to mention here guys that I'm not looking for free tech support here. I watched several youtube videos and online tutorials and most of what I am reading says that PingPong won't work because of my version of Android being too recent, and any other method will trip KNOX.
This video seemed the most promising, the one that can be found by searching "How to Root Galaxy S6/S6 Edge! by Anuj Patel" on YouTube (sorry I can't post URLs yet) and it went on to refer to an online guide (Google: "How to Root Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge! [TWRP Recovery + Root] androidrootz") but some of the files my browser won't let me download because it says downloadandroidfiles-DOT-org is an attack site and the idea of a rootkit or malware on my phone is very frightening. In the same YouTube page a poster asks if it trips KNOX and the same author Anuj says it does but if you do not want to, to try this method (Google: "How to Root Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge without Tripping Knox! [PingPong Root] anroidrootz"). But again, it seems dependent on an older version of android and/or downloading files from the "attack site" mentioned above.
I just wanted to make it clear that I have done many hours of research.
Thanks,
Bescalan

I'm not certain on removing the HFA or what its dependency among other things may be. You can achieve root following the OP instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-galaxy-s6/general/guide-how-to-root-marshmallow-sm-g920p-t3338694
All the files are safe as theyre shared by respected Devs here. Be sure to press the Thanks button for them.
Make sure you untick the reboot option in Odin before you flash the TWRP file.

I appreciate the prompt reply! Considering your first comment, can anyone please let me know if they have had experience disabling the HFA?
Just remove HFA, you dont need to be rooted.
Search for package disabler app, and disable freeze the service "system update" (sprintdm.apk) and done.
Okay, great, so HFA seems gone. Thanks!
Unfortunately, now my problem is an "Invalid SIM" notice that comes up after a while and disables my 3G Internet. A message that the SIM was locked comes up (I have to click OK), and then a persistent SIM icon is in the top notification area that states: "Invalid SIM".
I went to my local CDMA telecom provider and they said that because I installed Marshmallow I have made it very hard for the phone to work. Unfortunately, it was the previous owner that upgraded it. I am not sure a downgrade is possible. They put in a Sprint chip and left it in, but I do not even want to use a SIM (because I'm using CDMA) and the Sprint Chip does not seem to help much if at all. There is no Sprint in my country anyway, so I'm not sure if my phone company thought it would help with the Invalid SIM message. The only way for me to get 3G back is to power cycle my phone and use it before the invalid SIM message comes up again after a few minutes.
My research has suggested that this is because the phone is locked, but I am wondering if there is a way around this. Perhaps I can disable another .apk file to stop this from happening since it does not happen from the very start, much like the HFA.
My specs are:
IMEI(MEID) AND SN 990005771730596 01 MEID 99000577173059 My Phone is a Galaxy S6 running 6.0.1 Android and for Spring. It keeps saying INVALID SIM. I tried to pay for Unlock Service from safeunlockcode.com but they said:" Thank you for your email. We are sorry but we are not able to unlock your device because we don't support for unlocking IMEIs starting with 99000."
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What do you mean by that? Do you mean that the free advice of not needing root is worth its cost?
Saafir said:
Try going to Settings>Mobile Nerworks>Network Mode, and select CDMA Only, see how that goes. You may try toggling Airplane Mode instead of a power cycle until resolved *shrugs*
---------- Post added at 02:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:30 PM ----------
I mean that there was some funky issues with the application license that a lot of people who paid couldn't access the pro version. If you got it, woot.

Oh! I rooted anyway so I didnt try that app. Doubt it would have worked without root tho I did try some other package killers.
Hi I have the same issue on my S6 G920P... It keeps asking me to put the original SIM to carry on the activation.
I am just tired of this S6, any options even if I have to pay, I will.
Ohhh forgot to mention that I have this problem since I updated the firm to marshmallow

I think this is on to something in that you are saying if I don't need GSM then why not just disable GSM entirely and hopefully avoid the Invalid SIM message. Unfortunately, it still does not work. Is there a service/app I can disable that does the verification?
If I take out the SIM, 3G never comes up and from the start I have a persistent top notification message: "No SIM, Insert SIM Card."
I can still make calls, but no 3G internet
Any other suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
if you rooted your S6 already, just install the titanium backup app and freeze the service "system update".

Thank you for the reply.
But there is no System Update? There are two "Software Updates" I get when filtering by "Update":
1) Software Update 1.1.57
2) Software Update 3.1.12
Are these the ones you are suggesting I freeze? Because I can't find a "system update"

Oh, if it's SprintDM it's because I also renamed that .apk file in hopes it would stop the SIM problem from re-occurring. If it is still happening, then I doubt rename the .apk from .bak back into .apk and then freezing it would help--what do you think?
Saafir said:
You WILL need root access, unless you use a PC version debloater via adb of some sorts. And that may not work. Anywho, after root, you'll need to navigate to system>priv app. Here you will want to find and rename "Activation.apk" to "Activation.apk.bak"
If that doesnt stop HFA entirely...
The next one you will want to find is "SprintSyncMLSvc.apk" to "SprintSyncMLSvc.apk.bak"
And if it STILL persists..
"SprintSyncMLPhoneIF.apk to "SprintSyncMLPhoneIF.apk.bak"
This will prevent the OS from loading them.

So I've come a long way. I rooted my phone, I apparently unlocked it, re-flashed it, did a hard reset. Now I have signal (can make calls), and my 3G hardly works.
Basically, 3G does not come up at all if I have HFA disabled. HFA when enabled goes through three steps:
1. It says "Welcome! Configuring your device for voice and data." (during this time 3G works, but it is only a few seconds)
2. It says "Waiting to retry" and counts down for like a minute before going back to step 2 (during this time, 3G does NOT WORK)
3. After a bunch of failed retries, it says: "Activation not completed". (and 3G stops altogether until I restart the phone.)
So, how can I disable HFA if when I disable it 3G never comes up to begin with?

I am SIM unlocked, but I want to use a CDMA not. GSM network. UICC unlock, if I have HFA enabled takes me back to HFA. If I have disabled HFA, UICC unlock appears to so nothing.
As per @yaibakt posted, I can confirm that freezing the System Update Package 1.15.32 with Titanium Backup on G920P 6.0.1 PF4 (Domestic Unlock U.S.A) actually kills the Hands Free Activation pop up in every boot, thanks.

Open the calculator app
Type in (+30012012732+
This opens drparser mode
On that pad type ##27263#
Then hit yes to reset provisioning
The device may reboot a couple of times and may even cycle back to hands free activation one more time, but after that, it will stop and be activated properly

[Guide] How to get your MSL code

Alright so I was bored and started poking around trying to find a way to get the MSL. Well after a couple hours of trail and error, I got it! Here's how.
You will need: ADB, ADB Drivers, and a rooted device.
Plug your phone into your computer.
Run the following (in CMD) :
1: adb shell
2: su
3: am start com.sec.hiddenmenu/.Program_Edit
It should open a menu with your MSL at the bottom. Hope this helped!
I was able to find my MSL this way. I'm guessing this only works if you are rooted?

Hey guys, I found a way to get the MSL code for your G920p to edit the DATA menu (##3282# in dialer)
Requirements:
* Rooted S6
* ADB Installed + Drivers
* USB Cable
Steps:
Open CMD / Terminal and run the following:
1. adb shell
2. su
3. am start com.sec.hiddenmenu/.Program_Edit
Scroll down to the bottom and you should see "Service Programming Code" this is your MSL.
I hope I helped! If I did, please press the thanks button! I took me awhile to find this! Let me know if you find anything else interesting in this menu.
Also, I wouldn't recommend playing around with the other settings unless you know what you are doing.
thanks,i find my msl using this method
Using idoneapps you can find your msl without rooting. Just downgrade to Lollipop and run the app. Price is roughly $20 to $30 for the app. No avoiding this price unless rooting and using the old idoneapps.

Are you sure? I've downgraded mine to Lollipop from Marshmallow. There's certain updates that are locked because the binary level is lower than what's on your device. AOCF doesn't work. Just try the PD2 update.

If the app doesn't give you the msl, you can flash a lower firmware, I'll check which one I have that works and read the log of what the app did after it unlocks your phone. The msl, will more than likely be in the log.
Galaxy S6 Edge + and Note 5 was updated to Nougat. All we're waiting for is the edgeless version of the software to release. Maybe in another week..
what do I put here
