Force Hdr - Shield Android TV General

Hello everybody,
Is it possible to set by default HDR on the nvidia shield ? My tv let me set HDR mod only if a hdr signal is coming.
For example if I play an HDR movie in vlc then I can set HDR mod while I not shuting down the tv or switching channel (in the shield menu , game it's stay in hdr mod).
Thanks.

To use HDR you have to have a compatible HDR TV. If your TV doesn't even do HDR than it would be a totally useless endeavor.

4K image quality issue

long history short, using the same image in 4K resolution in one usb pen drive, connect to shield and open it with several photo galleries, the best perform in term of quality was ES Explorer internal gallery (which is not indeed a gallery app) but even though comparing with the quality of the same image and same scenario opened directly in the LG 55UJ7700 ‑ 55" LED Smart TV ‑ 4K UltraHD ‑ 120 Hz the difference is remarkable, specially if the intention is use one custom android app to show high resolution images (4K) ..... what should I do to achieve same quality as the LG TV ?
I followed this for uhd video while also noticed that viewing photos from Kodi worked great.

60 fps video possible?

So we've seen a couple of improvements to the camera since release, most notably with Portrait Mode recently. This is great, but where is the 60fps video? The phone must surely be capable of 1080p60 if it can do 4k at 30fps?
Neither the Razer camera app nor the modded Google Camera app I'm using allow me to select a different frame rate; does anyone know of an alternative app that can shoot higher FPS? I'd shoot 1080p60 all the time over 4k 30fps.

I'll subscribe to this thread, wondering the same thing. I have a feeling it would have to be updated by razer In firmware or some skilled coders here first. Seeing as we have treble, android P maybe? Should get released pretty quick for us!
I use snapdragoon camera that allow you to enable 60fps and 120 FPS video at 1080p

Nice! thank you for that suggestion. HSR mode doesn't work for me but I only wanted HFR so I'm ok
The hardware doesn't support 4K @ 60 FPS
where do i get the Snap Drag camera?

No 4k netflix support for 7t ???

Hey guys just wanna know something
Does netflix app on 7t does not support 4k or not ?
I am asking cos yesterday i logged in with my account on netflix app on my dad’s oneplus 7t and went to settings and opened playback specifications
It said HDR = supported (good thing)
BUT MAXIMUM PLAYBACK RESOLUTION WAS JUST FULL HD (1080P)
It should be 4k or UHD but why max is just 1080p in settings ???
This is a 1080p panel. No possible way to get 4K out of it.

PS5 4k HDR issue with TCL C6

I have a TCL C6 which can display 4k at HDR. However, the PS5 wont run on 4k at HDR. It can only run at 4K SDR or 1080p HDR.
Any help would be appreciated.
Did you ON or enable/enhance HDMI in setting (and CEC enable) ?
Proper HDMI cable or HDMI input (2xHDMI 2.0 and 1xHDMI 1.4a)?
Firmware version ?
Check also PS5 setting.

Can you guide how to do that.
For reference, Netflix and prime video manage to enable HDR video easily at 4k.
Tried PS5 settings, auto, 1 and 2. HDR works on 1080p, but switches to SDR as soon as i jump to 4k.
Cable is standard Sony cable provided with PS5 box.
My HDMI is in System setting /Advance setting , CEC is also in System setting.
