There's an answer to this in the Verizon Note 5 thread. Just use the AT&T firmware instead of for the Verizon firmware.

Which firmware did you try to use because you can only go back so far.. Like you can't go from Nougat all the way back to MM 5.0.1 because of the locked bootloaders! Try downloading and using this firmware.. After it's downloaded extract the file 1 time so you get a .md5 file that odin can use.. The link is below.
Download this firmware and try.

It's not possible right now to go back that far.. Nothing can be done until the bootloaders get unlocked.

Yes it is passable. You need to find at last firmware with baseband N920AUCS4CPK1. One did you try to flash did not work because it was bootloader version 3 and since you are on android v 7.0 your bootloader is v4. Look for firmware where after S or U you see 4. In example N920AUCS3BPH4 you got 3, this mean bootloader is v3.
Good luck

Did you flash the entire file? There are usually two. The full rom and then updates to the rom. I would check in his thread to see what happened.
Also clearing the cache can help with the boot process

I did everything, but the problem begins when I install the updates.
If I only install v5, my note doesn't reboot by itself.
Gotta ask what was your process for flashing 5.0 did you wipe x3 and format data x3 that is what I normally do Im playing with mods right now but have been running 5.0.3 for a couple of days with no reboots actually never got any reboots while on DomPop
What Baseband and Modem are you running download the systeminfo app from playstore and it should tell you if you are unsure.

Thanks... Wasnt sure if i should have done N900TUVUDNK3 4.4.2 or 5.0... So there's obviously a root for stock 5.0 correct?

As I have understood, you can only update the baseband and bootloader through ota. I Flashed the rom twice, the first time only the system was updated but no the baseband, the second did the modification of odin and everything went perfect.

Download Odin v3.10.6 from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711451, unzip and search for the odin3.ini file, open it and modify this two lines:
PhoneEFSClear=0
PhoneBootUpdate=0k
Change the first from 0 to 1 if you want to do a factory reset when you install the rom
Change the second one from OK to 1 to Odin update the baseband and bootloader automatically. After that open Odin, connect your note on download mode and install the rom.

You don't need to root stock rom. Download openrecovery-twrp-2.8.0.1-hltetmo-4.4.zip from Google and install via Odin, after that you only have to reboot into the twrp recovery and install the DomPop rom.
This rom comes rooted.

If it wasn't complete it wouldn't pass the md5 check in Odin.
I always use FDM (Free download manager) to download and have never had an issue.
You need to use Internet Explorer and click through the links as normal (no right clicking) for FDM to pick it up.

here is a screen shot of the error in odin
The firmware is fine it passes the md5 hash check.
The problem is either the wrong firmware or your bootloader is locked or doesn't allow downgrades.
As a hunch I'd say the wrong firmware for your device, try a t705 firmware instead if t705w.

thank you for your time ashyx I have tried everything like different firmwares, different odin, different computer but all the same results. I think the bootloader is locked. the only firmware I could flash using odin is the last lollipop and all kitkat failed. I think I might sell it and buy an international model instead.

Whenever I flash a marshmallow Rom on my HTC one M9, it reboots into the bootloader.

I'm currently running android revolution 5.1.1. I even tried to flash the rom from my sd card but to no avail. I really need some help.

none of them are your firmware, go to download mode and read the one that says OS:this is your firmware
you must have MM firmware to install MM roms, so if it doesn't start with a 3.xx.xxx.xx it's not MM, unless you are on Verizon they have a LP firmware that starts with a 3.

I can confirm this works.
Just got an S7 Active G891A and I want to downgrade the firmware to root it. It's on the QB2 Firmware. Is it possible to downgrade without risking bricking it?

In order to root you have to go back to lollipop. Here is the link from hsbadr to tell you all you need. If you follow the instructions carefully you shouldn't have any problems.

Try 3.12 or the newest build (i used 3.12 on my sisters note 4 and my own it was newest when i dl select AP when prompted in odin flash bpa1. That should get you to stock 5.1.1. Then attempt temp root,bootloader unlock,twrp with same odin,SELINUX permissive kernel @ supersu flash via twelve after u have unlocked and confirmed this by seeing unlocked lock on first splash and your phone should be in bootloop til you flash permissive kernel. You also cannot have the sdcard used to backup your boot loader (ever!!!! Unless you format. Device will try read old CID on card)
