safe? how is the battery life?
the firmware is from: https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/addison_cn/RETCN/

Yes, it is safe. You will need an unlocked bootloader to flash it since the zip isn't digitally signed.

I can't find in google how is the battery life, it's very important because I read that android 7 on the play is a "battery drainer".
and I can root it after the flash? (after I flash twrp and then su)

How do I flash this? It doesn't seem to work with TWRP, do I have to sideload it?

It's not a custom rom. You have to use the stock recovery and ADB to sideload it.

well after the release of the latest firmware comes the new expectation of rooting the device?

Hi i followed all the steps as mentioned.... but after flashing restarting it is not going past Sony logo, not even the boot animation.
Please help
Hey there Just decided to share my experience. I have a D5503 and I flashed the 14.5.A.0.242 firmware. After this I decided to try to root the device, but since I had no TWRP or Clockwork it seems impossible to root. I lost my bootloader unlock too and no tool or method seems to be able to unlock it. I tried the official sony method, tried from flashtool and other similar programs but nothing seems to work (from cmd it comes up with and error message, some kind like "failed, cannot complete command or smth"). And yes,I've checked and my phone's bootloader CAN be unlocked. Any ideas what must be causing that or I just have to wait for a proper tool/method for root/BL unlocker ?

Marshmallow OTA link here

Here's the official OTA link to update from LCA43 (Lollipop) to MEC24H (Marshmallow). Enjoy! You can only flash this on a watch that is completely stock! If you need to restore your watch, Sony PC Companion might work.
https://android.googleapis.com/pack...e2ee74fbab.signed-tetra-MEC24H-from-LCA43.zip
Small note: This OTA will update the bootloader to block "tethered booting" in fastboot while the bootloader is locked (so you will have to unlock the bootloader to use TWRP). If you want to keep the old bootloader, there is a post on the third page. This zip is signed by Sony, so you can flash it in stock recovery with a locked bootloader.
Edit: Here are some screenshots. Not much has changed compared to Lollipop, and Sony hasn't added anything compared to other watches, so they're not very interesting. https://imgur.com/a/Vp8hY (Ambient Mode might look worse on your watch because after I flashed Marshmallow I edited build.prop to disable low bit ambient mode. If you want to do this too, I made a crappy tutorial for that on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidWea...an_disable_low_bit_ambient_mode_to_make_your/)

thanks for link. Could you give here some tutorial how to install this update ?

Open up adb on a computer and plug in the watch. Issue adb reboot recovery and tap the watch screen when the recovery droid picture shows up. Swipe down to the sideload option then swipe right. Issue adb sideload blahblah.zip (obviously put the real zip name where "blahblah" is) and wait. After it finishes, swipe to the reboot option and swipe right to select. Your watch has been updated!

No, because the mod is literally only adding a single character (#) to a line in build.prop. If I repacked it into a zip you would still have to boot TWRP and use adb to flash it, which is 90% of the work.

As the title says, those who have bought a moto z play from aliexpress or China, which rom did you flash? Are you getting OTAS?
1. from gearbest
2. no OTA, the security patch was June 2016
3. ROM of choice right now is resurrection remix.

Your pasted link is where my twrp image came from.
Though before i flashed the twrp image. via fastboot, i had first "upgraded" the z play into the latest of the CN unofficial firmware. this is one of those firmware that is said to brick the z play if you decide to downgrade.

i guess the reason is the flash of the "unofficial" official firmware per my previous post, to be honest, i don't know as i simply followed the various flash instructions threads in the XDA

How to properly relock bootloader?

Hi,
I had rooted my phone (ANE-AL00 C675) long back. Now there is a yellowing of screen, so I want to take it to the customer centre. For this, I want to relock the bootloader. However, when I relock, it goes to bootloop. When I unlock it again, it is working
[1] I rooted using the method from here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...t-p20-lite-t3773923/post76137173#post76137173. I've flashed the original ramdisk before relocking.
[2] I had flashed twrp. I flashed stock recovery before relocking from here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p20-lite/help/req-stock-recovery-p20-lite-t3803027
[3] I had installed xposed. Uninstalled using the option within xposed.
What am I doing wrong? Please help me relock the phone. TIA.

If you install again stock firmware the device will be in the correct status to re-lock the bootloader.
Check in this link if the firmware is familiar for you :
https://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/?firmware_model=ANE-AL00C675&firmware_page=0
Use this tool for installation => https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/development/tool-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279

Hi, I did go through the list but 8.0.0.131 is not available. Is there any way to relock without the stock rom? I've been unable to find 8.0.0.131 rom on the internet.
Guys, any help on this is appreciated.

Hi there
I've read the confusion Altough I must ask, why do you need that specific version 8.0.0.131?
If you just wanna get a "lock" state not a "relock" state to get the warranty back, then flash any dload package available, if the phone is Indian then this is what you are looking for:
https://androidhost.ru/KY
If you don't know the dload procedure just quote me or DM me.
Cheers,
AS

Hi ars_chelsea,
Can you double check the link posted by you?
I'm seeing wrong or that firmware is for P8 lite 2017.
Hi, I was under the impression that you need the stock rom version to relock bootloader. Please advice on how to proceed.

Tell one thing though, can you access eRecovery?
If so, have you tried to restore it from there? It also downloads a signed full firmware which makes your bootloader on "lock" state.
Hi,
I can access eRecovery. But it fails at 99%.

Ok my way the easy one- instead BL relock you will get locked
1 Install TWRP.
2 Download OEMINFO for your model any (dont use DD if your phone is SS sim) need image not zip - upload on sdcard
3From TWRP install oeminfo.
4Restart phone and go to Erecovery it should now start downloading right sys and bootloader will be like never touch.
Good luck
