I I am looking to put a little charging station in the storage compartment of my home theater sectional. I really would like to only run one USB cable to charge my devices. I am a bit worried I will not be buying the correct pieces for my needs. I bought a 16ft. pluggable USB cord on Amazon recently, but there seem to be worries that a single USB cable may not provide more than 2.1a.
I would like to charge at least two smartphones (HTC One X and Note 2) at once and at their full charging rate. Assuming that this is even possible, could someone provide me with a wall adapter and USB hub that will work for this? I like the looks of...

and

If this is an impossible task, what are some other good options? I looked at the Belkin Valet, but it appears too large, and has some issues.
Well a note 2 alone takes more than a standard usb 2.0 cord to charge at full speed. Maybe try a usb 3.0 hub and tablet wall charger. Not 100% sure its possible though

Okay, that makes it sound like I might want to change my mind about this whole one USB cord plan. How about running an extension cord instead of a USB cord, then hooking it up to a dual USB wall charger like this-

Would that work for two Note 2s?

So since Quick Charge 3 isn't technically spec for USB C, none of the Benson Leung cables will ~actually~ charge at full Quick Charge speed, correct? Is there a consensus on the best quality cable that will charge at full speed, preferably USB 3.0/3.1? It looks like a lot of the cables with the 56k ohm resistor in it don't hit QC3 speed and I just don't want to fry my phone.

The one for the nexus 6p is the best I've used. I've used the lg G5 one but not the one that it comes with

The problem with the one that comes with the phone is it's only USB 2.0 I believe, and they're $20 cables. There's got to be better cables out there than that that are USB 3.0.

You need to use quality charger with 3.0A for that
a good/proper usb-c to usb-a cable is supposed to have a built in resistor to keep the device from pulling too much current through the older usb-a plug, which ofc wasn't designed with the capabilities of usb-c in mind.
therefore you should not be able to charge as fast with said cables, otherwise it wouldn't be too unlikely for your device or charger to get seriously damaged.

To be more precise, the resistor doesn't keep the device from pulling too much current, it tells the device it is connected to a legacy cable and it should limit to .5, .9, or 1.5A. The device can still choose to pull more current if it has alternate means of figuring out the capabilities of the power source. It won't be using facilities within the USB C spec, but it will still work fine.
My bedside combo of a 2.4amp charging brick, anker powerline 10ft micro usb cable, and anker micro usb to usb c adapter gives me quick charging. The cable and adapter also allow data transfer and adb from my macbook pro.

In my experience 5x says "Charging rapidly" around 1.6A. Some of the legacy USB A -> USB C cables (either direct or through micro-usb adapter) can get around 1.6A and 5x will display "Charging rapidly" but this might not be the same rate as the stock USB C native charger with which the device can pull 2.6A for the lower battery ranges like 0-40% before the phone slows down to around 1.8A (and even slower later on in the cycle)

Discovered this after returning my 5x, picking up a 6p, and installing ampere. Still functional as a bedside charger but thanks for the help tho.
I don't have a USB-C PD charger, and can't find much information on if the Note 7 will use the full 15W provided under the USB-C spec, does anyone know?
For example, has anyone plugged a Macbook 12" USB-C charger into a Note 7?
I have a 100W USB dock/charger (Dell TB15). It uses a USB C adapter, but I'm afraid to plug it in to my phone.
I was a bit surprised to find out that the Pixel 2 doesn't come with a transfer cable, and the only adapter is USB-C to USB-A. Luckily I still had mine from the original Pixel XL, but it was odd that Google didn't include one. Just a heads up for those who haven't received there's yet
That adapter allows you to use your old charging cable to transfer. Adapter into the Pixel 2, old charging cable into adapter and into old phone

I was surprised as well to see no USB-C to USB-A cable included. I also used mine from my original Pixel XL, but Google's cables are of such high quality that I would have loved to have another.

Correct, but this post isn't really about the adapter. It's about Google including one less cable versus last year. The original Pixels included the adapter, a USB-C to USB-C cable, and a USB-C to USB-A cable. The USB-C to USB-A cable is not included with the new Pixels.
And like the new Pixels, some phones these days only come with a USB-C to USB-C cable. The included adapter doesn't help in that situation. Very few devices fall into that scenario, but it still could happen.
The original came with the adapter too? I don't remember that

It did indeed. I've used it frequently for USB OTG.
FYI, you cannot use a normal USB-A cable and the C-to-A adapter and connect your Pixel to a PC. It will not allow you to charge or connect to transfer files.
Really sucks, because I used this at work a lot with my original Pixel XL. Something changed with the new hardware and it prevents you from doing it. Luckily, I also have the original C to A cable that came with my XL.
Definitely a bummer for someone going from iPhone to Pixel 2. Now I have zero cables I can use to charge my new phone in my car. I left Apple because I was tired of being forced to buy extra things to do basic stuff so a little irked that I need to buy a special connector for car charging. Anyone have recommendations on a good cable that will actually work for both charging and data transfer?

There are heaps of good USB C to USB A cables out there. If you need one you can buy the google one from their store. Would have been nice to get one in the box, but I still have 3 lying around that I've used for previous type C phones.

Well the cable that I linked does have a 56kΩ pullup resistor, so it should adhere to the USB spec to prevent any damage.

Has anyone tested it to make sure it does though? I've seen several reviews from Nathan/Benson for cables that claim to have a proper resistor but don't.

That cable used to work with first pixel for fast charging but, does not work with pixel 2 I own 2 of them and was disappointed

I literally just got the cable today and noticed it's only saying charging. It should say "rapid charging" if fast charging is work correct?
Anyone confirm of a A-C cable that actually can fast charge?

I did bring up Accubattery and it will only charge at 1a even with a 2.4a charger, which is disappointing.
I received my phone yesterday and found this to be very annoying. I have a few questions:
-Is the USB-C on this phone 3.0 or 3.1 spec or just 2.0? I just assumed all these new phones had 3.0+ speed
-According to google store, the cable that comes with this phone is 2.0 spec ($20 effin dollars?). Is there a 3.0 spec cable that will work?
-Are there any third party cables out there that will fast charge and have 3.0+ spec? (of course 3.0 is pointless if the phone itself maxes out at 2.0)
