[TWRP backup] HELP! NANDROID NEEDED - Honor 8 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi guys, can I find a so gentle and generous person who can do on TWRP a Nandroid backup of all partition (obviously not data) of Full Stock version of Honor 8 Pro and send it to me? I tried every single method findend in this forum but the phone won't restore back the stock version, so it is my last chance to bring back my old phone.
I would be very gratefull if anyone of you could help me.

The reason why no one has been so generous is that the root access given to this device is partial, not system wide.
You can't grant -rw permissions to /system partition and hence if we go into TWRP, it doesn't allow to take a Nandroid backup.
However, I can give you the link to B130 dload file.
B130 STOCK
Flash the recovery images first and then flash the ROM using dload method

Yes you can install magisk after this. But then after returning to stock, you have to flash TWRP recovery, then try installing Magisk v12 as apparently someone from the TWRP thread said that he couldn't make v13 work. And No even after doing all this, you won't get full benefits of rooting as system partition is restricted and you don't have read and write permissions. Encrypted rom will be decrypted once you follow the installation of TWRP and install magisk.

thnks for ur valuable answer..but i have a bit of confusion..
u said that even after doing all this i wont get benefits of rooting as partition is restricted as i dont have rw permission...but u again said encrypted rom will be decrypted once i follow the installation of twrp and install magisk..
so if rom will be decrypted then automatically rw permissions would be accessable..then probably i would be able to enjoy full root benefits...crrct me if i am wrong...

I was decrypted when I had root and twrp but still I wasn't able to access the system partition. To get full root access, you have to wipe data in TWRP and then flash the decrypted boot.img which we don't have for our phone. So we stuck on half root.

[Q] Before I root my P6 how to keep the original restore?

Hey everyone! I got my P6 only yesterday and I am really pleased with it. It works like a charm and I can hardly find any reason to root it except for the most important of all to use CWM and Titanium Backup in order to import all my apps to it.
Before I root it I wanted to know how can I save the initial state of the phone WITH the original recovery, in case I ever need to return the phone for warranty issues. I know after rooting I can install CWM and backup but this doesn't backup the original restore and keeps CWM. I am asking before hand because I never managed to do it on my ZTE Skate after I rooted it. Unless of course it's very easy to do it after rooting (which wasn't the case with the Skate) and i don't need to worry about it.
LOL Only 2 things you find in favor, how about Greenify, bloatware, editing build.prop, FolderMount, etc ? Nevermind, yes you can save the initial state.

If u whant just root it u can root with metod what work on your device and if u whant to lose root just flash any avilable update from local update, u wil not lose any data just root and u will be back on stock recovery to.
But if u whant to try out any custom rom
Install TWRP
Then flash ROM what u whant
In XDA i can find stock P6 recovery and flash it from TWRP and then install any avilable update from stock recovery.

I rooted with the 3rd option and everything went smooth! Now I want to add the TWRP and I had a question that I can't post yet in the other forums as I am under 10 posts.
I tried using original recovery but I got error message.
In order to install TWRP I must be on 118CN which I have downloaded. How do I install 118CN before I proceed with installing TWRP?
After much trouble I managed to install CWM and took backup first of my current rom. Than I went to install the 118.zip but I got an error message (did factory reset first). I don't know what else to try unless some one who has done it tells me what is the way
Great! I found out in a totally different section of the forum the following:
HOW DO I...?
Get stock ROM:
Make sure you have stock Recovery not TWRP.
Place your stock version on your SDCard in 'dload' folder, make sure it's named UPDATE.APP
Turn off your device
Press and hold Volume - and +
Press Power but still hold Volume - and +
It will now install stock, and also reboot.
I try this and I get message that the phone is secureboot phone.
This phone is LOCK State.
Nevermind that message.

To get back to your question: You don't need root for a good backup solution. You can use Helium backup for a complete backup of al your apps. I am rooted but I still prefer Helium above titanium backup.
-edit-
Didn't read all the replies. This is irrelevant now. :S
Yes I know about Helium but I prefer Titanium Backup.
As for my problem last night I found the fix and it was totally crazy!
I couldn't update to B125 (stock) with stock recovery with the same error messages like with CN118.
I tried one last thing before I called it a night and it worked! I copied the Dload folder with the update in both the internal storage and the SD card because as long as it was in the SD card you couldn't update. That is a crazy bug because even in the official Huawei guide it mentions copying the update in the SD. I finally solved this and now I can play around with other roms.
I can verify that when I tried to update from B125 to KitKat beta I did not have to copy the dload folder to Internal storage, so this could be a bug affiliated only to B606 I had I guess.

If you've never used TWRP before I suggest trying Google to get some basics. When I say "flashing" I'm talking about using the "Install" button in TWRP. You'll install the ROM first followed by the kernel. They should both be Zip files. If it was just Xposed though it might just fix the problem to find the correct Xposed uninstaller zip and flash that in TWRP.
Yep know that install is flashing. My thing is, is that I don't wanna lock up bootloader. I tried contacting person I got the phone from, because when I got it, wasn't showing the stuff that was listed. I made a backup on titanium pro, but can't get to it.. when I try to "install" on twpr the folder is there but says sdcard, that I wiped..the bootloader and unroot are my main concerns oh, and hard bricking..have internal storage folders...some in blue, most are grey....?

When you tap on install there's an option to select storage. You'll want the micro SD card. Unless you use Odin you won't be locking your bootloader and as long as TWRP is installed root is pretty easy. Just get your phone booting and then worry about the rest.

I agree with what shadeau said, first just get the rom to boot. Just flash the rom zip by itself and after it boots for the first time you can go back into recovery to add Xposed. A couple things that you may want to check on though, the kernel that's included in the rom is setup to let Magisk install properly which you'll need if you're using the version of Xposed that you have in the link you posted and I'm not sure if beast mode is. It may be easier to use wanam's original version which is here.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad, I hope you're doing ok. The process you mentioned is good as far as advanced wipe and install the rom, but I wouldn't flash the kernel at first, there's one built in and it's a good idea to make sure everything is OK first before flashing other stuff. But once you see all is good then you can go back into recovery to flash the kernel you want and you can flash Xposed in twrp just use the one I linked to in the previous post and make sure you wipe the dalvik cache and cache after you flash the Xposed zip.
just sent you a donation Kevin!!

Thank you for your donation, you are awesome!! I replied to the email address that was listed, but I'll also tell you now that it really means a lot to me and I couldn't be happier that you like the work I'm doing.
As far as restoring your apps I usually suggest that you should download them again from the play store. If you've already bought them they want make you pay for them again and honestly I just don't really trust the way that titanium backup restores apps, but if using the play store isn't an option it's ok to use TB to restore them and a lot of people do use it.
Finally Fixed the bootloop.

Your bootloader is not locked if you can boot to TWRP. Not having root is different from the bootloader being unlocked. You just need to flash the SuperSu zip.

TWRP backup for BLN-AL10 (system+boot) - B375 Stock

Hi Guys,
If by chance you messed up with your phone (BLN-AL10 model) while flashing custom ROMs, flashing some file etc., I have the backup for you to restore. This saved me few times when while installing the custom ROMs, I formatted data and etc and accidently deleted the TWRP folder (internal memory) but old backup saved me.
I captured only systsm+boot for you so that it will be of less size and you can restore when want quickly. Please find below link for the same-
Mega Link
Its of around 1 GB in size so either download it via Mega app on mobile or the mega account on windows browser.
Just boot into TWRP and restore the backup if you messed up anything and at least can boot into recovery.
Honor 6X repository thread updated with this information.
anybody with TWRP backup of other models/versions can share and I will update the repository thread.
Another great thread bro.

3. flashed BOOT RECOVERY SYSTEM with fastboot [ Failed]
Now what can i do? I wiped data , cache, system, product, version and others except cust and oeminfo.
Can you please share a full stock backup from BLN-AL10C00? The phone was bought from CHINA. I live in Bangladesh.

But I want Chinese stock BLN-AL10 rom. Is that possible? Even if i restore from my BLN-L22c636 backup the rom will show NRD90M Test-keys. and I will not get any file manger, Update utility and any future update.

[GUIDE] Back to Stock from Treble GSI [Variant]

On stock EMUI 9.1 :
1. Decrypt data
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/data-decryption-on-emui-9-1.4319329/post-85478865
2. Install TWRP 3.2.1 GAGUGA Edition
https://mega.nz/#!tkcTlATI!A8UJGPBGtxJbLcUOJoxCGJj5PFZXzCnjbb3OkwqKTP8
3. make a 'System Image' and 'Data' backup (on the SD card of course ))
To revert to EMUI from Custom use the Restore option in TWRP. Use the same TWRP (recommended).

Good idea. I added a kernel, recovery and vendor. Now I'm back on EMUI in a few minutes .

Thanks for the post, but I think it's a bit offtop. TWRP backup is just a variant, usually people use update via eRecovery.

I just want to say that we have a simpler solution than Yours. Of course, everyone can choose the method they will use.

It's my fault, I meant returning from GSI ROMs, where you only need to replace the stock system and data. So the correct name should be "Back to stock from GSI ROM", sorry.

Let me tell you that twrp otg backups don't work at all. I have 2 USB c hard drives and twrp can't make a backup with them. I don't know why but it can't. I'm really unsure of this phone because there's really nothing you can do to backup anything. You flash a new rom and you have to format everything and start all over again. No music no apps no nothing. I don't even understand what fun that is? Every rom seems to have different instructions and it's a mess.

I don't know if that will work I'm telling you don't get your hopes up because this phone is like an alien phone.

Ive been doing the custom roms thing for about 4 or 5 years. It's always unlock bootloader, flash twrp, make twrp backup of data, system and boot. Flash magisk or custom rom.
Well now it's different there's no way to back it up. If I make a twrp backup to the internal storage and try to copy and paste it to my USB c ssd it fails it won't allow it. I don't understand if you try to make the backup in twrp it'll say backup failed. I have no idea why I can't make a backup that means I would have to flash stock to fix a bootloop lol it's ruining the twrp experience
There are so many guides on the internet. We don't need to repeat this. Use YouTube and Google.
Search "Poco F3 Flash Custom ROM" and "Poco F3 unlock bootloader"
@dreamytom Just reading a few threads here on xda would be enough to find almost all the answers you need ...

From a certain point of view you are right, but we should also give the developers some time to fix things. It is true, with previous versions of android it was easier to flash and without having to set everything up again, however, it is a phone with a more complicated system therefore the developments of the twrp are more complicated. Without forgetting that the entire development is supported only by donations and the rest is completely free ...
There are some tools too...if you are using same base os... you can use tool to backup and restore.
1. Migrate
backup you app (with data)
restore from twrp
(search it from xda)
2. Swift Backup.
3. Miui has backup and restore too.
but for your data (photos, videos etc) manually backup to your pc.
that's all..
yes, backup restore from twrp not work yet.

I already know about those app backups and it's really not the problem. You need to than make sure you have them stored on a USB C drive because if you format data than bye bye to those apps. Twrp we're the best and I didn't like the idea of no micro SD card but I figured oh well USB C drive will work.
With every android verison update we lose a little bit of root. It's not like when actually change anything to the system it will bootloop. We can't make system backups and now magisk hide is removed that one I don't care I never used it. There's a point when having root doesn't matter really and we're almost there. Coding is getting so complicated that after OEM updates stop I wouldn't be surprised if people can't build updated Android roms
