[Q] Removable Disk via Bluetooth?

I had it in my Nokia, so simple.
Is there a way to open and transfer the files at my DHD through my PC via Bluetooth?
I hate this cables that I need to plug in just to transfer 3MBs..
I want to make this "Removable Disk [E]" but via Bluetooth connection,
not sending file like (right click > share > bluetooth, and then it sends to my phone)
I want a full access, opening my DCIM folder, deleting files, and renaming..
Is there a software or app to make it?
I could do it very easily with my old N95 with its software "Nokia PC-Suite",
I could just enter the software (through keyboard shortcut that I made), and few seconds later, by no touching, no connecting any cable, it would open my phone's folder.
I miss that easy life
How can I do it here too?
Thanks,
Yarden.
There is similar apps called Wifi Explorer Pro...as it name states, it uses wifi though...if it suits you, it can explore, download or upload any files from and to your desire hd...using wifi...much faster than using bluetooth though...i hope it helps you

Use MyPhoneExplorer and wifi. It's what I do to sync contacts, calendar and files.
Dave
First of all thank you for your replies.
But both apps aren't really what I'm looking for,
I'll explain my self again,
I want a pc software (not necessarily) that when I open it, it searches via bluetooth (or as new as you teached me, via WiFi), for my phone and open its files, like it would do if I plugged the USB cable.
That it gives me a new drive (C,D,E,F...) with all the mobile contents (folders, music, pictures ..etc)
I use web sharing it gives me full access to my sd card.

Nexus/Desire bluetooth query

Paired OK but would not connect and transfer anything from Desire. Could not find anything to force the connect and I thought this followed on naturally. Any thoughts? Data on Desire was removable disc.
What application are you trying to use for the transfer?
Using ES File Explorer on the Desire to send a data file over to GSN?
Look in the notifications on the sending device, there should be an entry something like 'Sending bluetooth files'. Click that and it'll list the files that it's tried to send. Chances are there's a 'device refused to accept the file' error, I've been getting that a lot.
Not really sure why...
The best workaround I've found so far is to use the 'Bluetooth File Transfer' app (in the Market).
On the 'receiving' device it will try and start a receiving service, if that works (watch for toasts on app start) then your transfers will be accepted.
If its receiving service fails to start - mine does because the standard one is already listening and I can't find a way to stop it - then start the Bluetooth file server, then use either Bluetooth File Transfer or ES File Explorer's Bluetooth tab (enable it in settings) on the sending device to copy/paste your files to the remote server.
Could do with a much easier method of doing this!
FileExpert looks promising, will be keeping an eye on its updates, but I can't get it to help me right now.

USB cable not work?

Bought a cable that adapts to USB so that I could put a memory stick into my NOTE
Plugged it in with a stick and after three file manager apps found out it was stored under SDcard USBstorage ------ funny location????
Anyway eventually found a file manager that could copy multiple files and sent a few down to the stick
All looked well ---- could see them on the stick
Pulled down the options and unloaded the stick.... took it out and put it in the PC
File manager could see it JPG files all looked well
Nothing pulls them up! They are not recognised at all despite the JPG extension
????
Looked at the properties of the file and it says they are not JPG but JIFF images?
Tried rename it says it cant see the file - then creates a copy with the JIFF extension
Still noting will read them ???
anyone any ideas?
Any comment appreciated
pete
I just tested using ES File Explorer.
I copied a photo taken with the Note's camera to a USB stick, put it in my laptop and was able to view it fine in Windows explorer and using Picasa.
It had the same filename and extension as the phone.
If you copy other file types (a word doc or mp3 etc.) does the extension change also?

No the extension does not change - I changed it to see if it could read it?
Tried linking the phone direct to the computer without the stick etc and the computer could see the phone and SD card OK ---- but when I tried to read them from the phone with XNView it seemed to not see them
Copies all the JPG files from the phone to the computer and they read OK?
Something weird?
Still baffled with the stick thing
Going around in circles - thought the stick would be a good way of backing up my photos when I was away from the PC - but it dont work?
pete
hmmm. that is weird. What file manager app are you using to copy to the USB stick?
If it's just backing up your photos that you want, drop box might be useful. It automatically backs up any photos I take.
It's a bit of a pain to have to go through dropbox to delete all of the "junk" photos that you don't really want to keep, but it's a simple solution that I don't have to think about and I'd rather do a little clean up every now and then, then lose a photo I really wanted.
You can set it to only back up over wifi, or both wifi and mobile data.
[edit] It's also weird that if you can't view pics on the phone via the PC.
I can connect via either MTP or external USB and browse my phone using Windows Explorer. If I double click on a photo in my DCIM folder it opens up on my PC using my default viewer (Picasa).

Think there must be a problem with the cable
Connected the phone direct with another cable and I can see the folders (directories) on that so at least I can do it that way!
Dropbox is a good idea will try that too
Thanks

Transfer music from Mac to Note 3

Most of my music is on my Mac but I noticed that you can't transfer music from a Mac to a Note since the drive won't come up. Is there a way to do it?
Hello,
You will need to use Android File Transfer utility.
Hope this helps
i transfer music all the time from my mac to the note. use android file transfer and just drag it over from iTunes or the folder.
Not a Mac but this should work with any OS - set up file sharing on your computer (Windows/Mac/Linux) to share the folder containing your music and then on your phone use ES File Explorer or another app that supports LAN servers to log on, then you don't even need to be at your computer to copy stuff to your phone as long as your computer is on and you're connected to the same network as the computer.
Kies does this for you. But I hate kies and don't use it personally. Double twist (music player) from market acts just like Itunes. You can try that it if you miss the iPhone type transfers.
Edit: but everyone else here mentioned correct answers. If you can't use android file transfer, probably because an old version of kies is blocking it. You have to download latest version and click uninstall, you can't just delete the app.

Yes, Kies (download the latest version) and it works flawlessly. Drag and drop.
* I don't get how some people are so bashful about Kies. The truth is it's simple, clean, straight forward and it WORKS.

Samsung Kies works fine. I like AirDroid better for all file transfers - music, pictures, documents etc.

[Q] Best Apps for transferring files over WiFi?

Hi everyone,
An iOS App called "DeskConnect" caught my attention because it is pretty neat at what it does. It allows you to send files from your PC/Mac to your, in this case, iDevice (or vice versa) over WiFi in a breeze. You just have to download the App on the computer and iDevice register with the same account on both devices.
My question is, is their an application similar to DeskConnect for Android? I'd like to download an App on my Mac and HTC One and be able to send stuff from my computer by just dragging what I want to send into the application and then receiving the document in the application on my phone.
I know I can probably connect my phone via USB and then transfer files like but I want to know if there is an easy way to do this over WiFi.
AirDroid is pretty cool for doing that.
For me sometimes a bit buggy though. (especially when transferring mp3)
Still in my opinion the best choice!
Everything runs over your browser.
Ps: the registration is only needed if you want to transfer files through the Internet rather than using your network.

PushBullet is what I use. But the limit for uploading a file is 25MB. I know some apps are bigger than that but it's worked well for me so far, light on the PC and phone, just runs on the browser as well.

PushBullet!:good: It's simple. Download the app to your phone and the Chrome extension, log in to both and voila "push" files with one click!

I've been using WiFi File Transfer Pro for a good while now, it's very good..... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smarterdroid.wififiletransfer&hl=en
I would say Air Droid is best because you can also control your camera and have notifications displayed on the PC
Android has a lot better solution than that. You can install "Software data Cable" . Chose Sync and it create an FTP server. You just need to have a FTP client on your PC/Mac/Linux.
What's more, when the phone is not in wifi network, it can create an wireless Hotspot.

i use this:

working with wlan/3g
ES File Explorer which is very easy to setup, especially using this guide
Solid Explorer has a nifty FTP share feature... I used it because for what ever reason I couldn't mount my One via USB. Airdroid works well too.
Whoa! Didn't expect to get a lot of replies, thanks you guys!
