[Equalizer Fix] Start listening to your Music again!! - Moto Z Play Themes, Apps, and Mods

I was searching for a 3rd party app for Equalizer fix coz since last 7.1.1 update Equalizer isn't working, so i found this:
A good looking music player with 10 band support with extra bass and treble, i bet you will not gonna use your stock Equalizer after using this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.n7mobile.nplayer
i am attaching the Equalizer configuration as well [According to my Sony Earphones]

welcome ?

Does it work with Spotify? Because, if I'm correct, it'll only work with the built-in player.
Cheers!

[Q] Sound Enhancer

While browsing through the the default music player I checked on various sound enhancements of my One X, it had the beats and usual presets, but then I noticed that it does not have HTC enhancer (I believe it is called SRS on other phones like on my Desire HD and HD7).
Whats funny is that this preset is present on the default video player (along with the beats preset).
I actually prefer this preset compared to the beats or any other preset and I was wondering if it was possible to enable it on the default audio player or any other 3rd party audio player (currently using Ubermusic).
Headphones
To use the sound presets you have to be using headphones, it should then appear in the settings but probbably only in stock music/video apps. Although once changed should effect every app!
Yeah, I am aware that would be the way to do it, but my question is how to get the HTC SRS enhancer on the default audio player (or any other player) as it is available in the default video player (Why put it in the video player in the first place?).
Im assuming HTC thought people wanted the beats preset over anything else when listening to audio. I would have wanted the choice on using the SRS one as I feel the sound is more clean and surround.

you may need to edit an .apk file in the system and the framework.jar. I know the file is srs_trumedia_51.cfg in /system/ect/soundimage.
It would be awesome if someone did make it work for music.

ty for linking my thread
BassMod is nice but currently only works for the included music app doesn't work with stock but does work well and has the srs thingy bobber.
DSPManager works with both headphones/speakers and with any app, but you don't get srs.
i would try both i'm currently using BassMod to test out.

then you would need to mod the stock music app, it used to have a "htc enhancement" but that seems to be removed.

The code to enable the HTC Enhancer is either in the HtcSoundEnhancerSetting.apk or HtcMusic.apk however I suck at finding things
gonna wait until someone can find the right codes
It really is frustrating that it is available on video players but not on music players. I'll take what I can get, whether it be a music player, equalizer manager or modified apk. It seems I'm not the only one who misses the punch SRS does.

[SHARE][APP]best Music equalizers on the play store in your mind

in my mind
1)The best equalizer on the play store. 100% Free
This is a app that i found when i'm "shopping" in the play store. And it's called Music FX. 100% Free.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lifevibes.musicfx&hl=en
cool and simple.
Makes your sound louder and 100% better. I prefer you to use this if you're using stock roms.
2)Another one.
The second best in the play store. Because although it has more functions but needs to be unlocked by purchasing the unlock key.

Hey mate,
these equalizers are known by most of the users on xda.
Music FX is included in most of the CM7 Roms.
as for the 2nd equalizer app,it is also known and there are already 2 threads made like these.
so this thread serves no real purpose .
sorry to disturb you.

I love the equalizer inbuilt with poweramp
It's brilliant

No Equalizer (EQ) in Google Play Music App

I'm trying to wrap my head around why LG has removed the EQ functionality in the Google Play Music App. The only LG phone I've ever owned was the Nexus 5 and the built in EQ worked perfectly on that handset, yet I've heard that it's also missing on the G3. This makes absolutely no sense and, as a result, music playback sounds lifeless. I've tried several third party EQ's but there appears to be no rhyme or reason as to when they work and when they don't. And none of them effects the sound over bluetooth. Is this bothering anyone else. If so, have you found an EQ replacement that actually works?
Cm12 maxx audio eq..
I rarely use EQs. Most people just crank up the treble a ton anyways as they think it sounds good when in reality you end up with an artificial sounding turd.
Technically, the EQ was a separate package from the Google Music Play app. Yes, the Nexus 4 and 5's had them, but they do not come prepacked. Every manufacturer has their own version of it, and LG simply decided to opt out.

Thanks. Will try to figure this one out. I haven't done much 'messing around' with my phone in quite some time. A bit out of practice. It appears to be working on G3 though... so that is promising.

"If you don't like the way the music sounds then you don't like the music" - My Dad (circa 1994).
I was looking for an EQ and remembered I paid for this one a long time ago, but there is the free version also. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smartandroidapps.equalizer Works flawlessly on my G4.
When/if root is available viper is the way to go. If you know what you're doing you can get some good quality sound on some good quality headphones or bt speaker system with viper.

For it to be fully functional yes. It does however still work. It's about the best Ive found without root or paying for poweramp

I bought this one as well. It only worked intermittently. Worked great at first. Then after taking a break from music for a few hours I noticed that it sounded flat again. Went into the EQ and messed with the settings but nothing effected the output. Forced closed everything and started things up again but still no dice. Tried a few others as well with similar problems.

Just download the zip extract the apk and install. It's not a major improvement, but it's something..

Thanks. Didn't notice that APK before. Installed without any problems but has no effect on sound output and crashes often. Oh well...
I'm still having this problem and it's driving me crazy. Every app I have tried works on and off. I'm not rooting my phone just for an EQ either. I've tried every app listed in here and more and they work for a while then stop. Has anyone found a reliable 3rd party app that actually works when you need it to?
VLC Player is the answer to all of your problems
I personally use PlayerPro (with the add-on for the Ten Band EQ from the Play Store). I find it can be adjusted to being absolutely perfect (plus the general interface of the app is one of the best I have found for playing music)

But these are only going to work with local music files your playing from your phone right? Not going to work if I'm streaming from the play music app right?

I have a stream service set up on my home server and connect to it via VLC. The are ways to connect to other streaming services as well, you just need the URL.

Equalizer in HTC10

Do you know if there is an equalizer in HTC10?
If not, what do you recommend? I use a lot of Apple Music.
powermp, without doubts
But PowerAmp only works with the music he played. It does not work with other apps.
Yes, the built-in EQ. Don't answer the "questions" but instead do the frequency test. It will differentiate between left and right channels which I don't prefer, so I picked the same volume levels for both sides (counting the tick marks).
It doesn't exactly specify the frequency when making adjustments... there's 2 lows, a mid, and 2 high's. That's all you get to work with.
So again no equalizer on htc?
Yes there's an EQ of sorts, but it's tied to the headphone you're using.
You do frequency tests (that's what an EQ is) and can adjust the gain of each frequency for the left and right channels.

Built-in? No. There's an option to setup profiles, but if your using any decent headphones it's really not gonna be enough to push them.
My recommendations:
Non-Root with your own library of music?
-PowerAmp, specifically alpha build 703, as it supports the 24-bit DAC
You get a 14 trial before you have to buy.
Non-Root, Streaming?
-many options on the play store, but if your streaming your music quality must not be important to you
Rooted?
-Viper4Android, there's many variations on XDA but IMO Viper4Arise is one of the better flavors with a variety of options to choose from.

I use AudioFX straight from Cyanogenmod. It seems to run just fine in sense without any modification. The first time you open it, it will probably crash. Just open it again and it should be OK. I have uploaded it to google drive if you would like to download - https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4SWkDc6OnebTFF2Y08wU2Q0NFk

New try: For many devices AudioFX does not work well. Who of you has a working EQ? Solutions without magisk and special audio player app preferred.

Question was about personal experience. My device is moto E condor with latest lineage. Tips for getting audioFX working with other sources than lineage music?
AudioFX works for me on Sony Z3 D6603. I use Sony's music player and the settings from AudioFX work just fine. Doesn't seem work with youtube though, I don't have any other apps to try it with right now. Personally I use Noozxoide for audio enhancement instead as it works with every source.

Oh I completely forgot about that app...... Nope, doesn't work. And I probably got a brain tumor from the crap that the only station I could find was playing
I don't think it works with gallery either. I transferred a music video from my pc to the phone and played it and I just can't hear any difference between the EQ presets. Gallery doesn't support split screen very well though so there was a pause between swapping presets and that made it even harder to spot any differences but still I'm pretty sure it doesn't work.
Dolby Atmos
I've found a mod that exactly fits my configuration https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767152106. Doesnt look like a open source project, but I hope we can trust Daansilva96, which is most probably https://plus.google.com/+DaanST
