Dasaita/Hotaudio after 2 weeks.... - MTCD Android Head Units General

excessdivide said:
Hello everyone,
Big thanks to the heavy hitters here that are making these units actually usable!
I received my Dasaita HA5217-V600 two weeks ago and thanks to having previously scoured these forums, I was able to install it, in my 2016 Toyota Corolla, with relative ease. Everything worked better than expected, and I had great bluetooth sound, strong WiFi connections, my door and A/C controls appeared on screen, my SWC all matched and decent FM reception. My bluetooth OBDII adapter is arriving this week so I'll have to report back on that.

My OBDII adapter arrived today and it immediately paired with my HU, and Torque Pro recognized it instantly! I'm thrilled at how easy this was.
For those interested, this is the adapter I purchased:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y6HLRKY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
So to recap:
My unit is:
MTCD HA5217-V600
10.2 " PX5 1.6 gHz, Octa-core, 2Gb/32Gb
Malaysk v5 ROM and MCU: MTCE v2.65f
Installed in 2016 Toyota Corolla S (6 speaker audio w/o factory "Entune" navigation system) and Rockford-Fosgate Prime's in both front and back.
SWC = all preprogrammed settings match my OEM settings, although they are unconfigurable.
Bluetooth connections have not yet dropped, volume and clarity are on pair with my previous Pioneer HU
Panel buttons all work and LEDs are configurable
Door and A/C controls all appear on screen.
GPS is fast and seemingly accurate so far. Recognized by every app that has looked for it.
OEM vehicle status listed properly in the 'vehicle' section
Amp/Fader/ViperFX all work as expected
WiFi connections are strong enough for my purpose. I can connect to my home WiFi from inside my garage.
AM/FM Reception and clarity are better than the stock system
Screen is bright and usable and auto-dims with Headlights on
Daylight brightness is a little difficult to see. (Then again I live in Florida and the tropical Sun made even my JVC, and Pioneer HU's difficult to see. Kenwood was the best for this IMHO)
OBDii interfaced paired quickly and easily and has so far stayed connected and recognized by apps
OEM Rear-view camera connects to the system without issue and is much easier to see on a 10" screen. As well as now having several configurable options in the "factory settings"
OEM USB port is recognized as well as the 2 additional USB ports included with the HU.
HOWEVER, the OEM AUX audio port is not usable with this configuration. (or if it is, I haven't figured out how to configure/access it yet)
I do not have a DAB+ or Front Camera, TV tuner/DVR so I do not have any information to share about those.
I tested the A/V in with a portable DVD player and there were no unusual issues there.
Over all I am very happy with this unit and am thrilled that I took the risk investing in it.
One more BIG thanks to everyone here who has helped to make these HU's worth it!

Thanks for the detailed write up. I just ordered mine. Px5 7 inch 2gb ram dasaita. Any tips for a newbie? I've been browsing the forums myself for the past couple of weeks and I'm aware of all the mods and custom ROMs etc. Just asking you if there's maybe any advice you wanna give on how I should proceed with the unit or just generally anything that might help.
Appreciate any reply

I have Dasaita/Hotaudio HA2100-v600 7" device and happy - it works here good!

Hi, I'm a fellow Corolla owner in FL As well!
I just bought a Dasaita PX3 2GB RAM 16GB (Quad core vs your 8 core PX5 due to it being close to $300 flat on an ebay flash sale) and have a question regarding the AUX port, you said the stock USB was retained but not the AUX, is there an aux port on your unit or any way to hook one up?
-Where did you mount the GPS antenna?
-Are you using the stock interface, or have you tried any launchers? I downloaded auto mate and Car Launcher free and so far like Car Launcher's look.
-Anything unusual with your unit?
-Have you tested Waze and Google maps? Do they run stable?
-Does your unit pickup your wifi automatically when you startup the car?
I appreciate your very detailed post as I'm patiently waiting for mines to arrive within the next week.

I have a question regarding the AUX port, you said the stock USB was retained but not the AUX, is there an aux port on your unit or any way to hook one up?
*Sad to say that I have not yet found a way to use the AUX port, but then again I haven't tried very hard.
-Where did you mount the GPS antenna?
*I mounted mine on the passenger side dashboard, as far right and forward as it would go. It blends right in as far as I am concerned.
-Are you using the stock interface, or have you tried any launchers? I downloaded auto mate and Car Launcher free and so far like Car Launcher's look.
*I Bought Car Launcher Pro. By far the best overall. It has been steadily updated, has a great look/feel, easy to modify and the most stable.
-Anything unusual with your unit?
*Nothing that I can think of. I'm still in love with it!
-Have you tested Waze and Google maps? Do they run stable?
*I don't use Google Maps, but I have Waze autostart. I'm dependent upon it now! Lots of threads here about Google Maps not working well.
-Does your unit pickup your wifi automatically when you startup the car?
*as of HA-2.75 it does.
You |may| have to trim a piece or 2 off the bezel to get it to fit perfectly in your dash. I had to cut off 2 tabs on top of my PX5.
Good luck!

I have a similar 9" unit.
Running Malaysk v5 ROM and MTCE v2.71 as the bluetooth for 2.75 didn't work well.
I do have the DAB+ aerial and app and it works ok however mostly I use Google music. I have no problems using Waze or copilot.
What I haven't been able to do is get my reversing camera to show on the screen. I have a wireless version and both halfs have leds that light up when the car is in reverse but no picture regardless of which connection I use.
Also I can't get it to connect to a ELM357 OBD2 dongle.
I've had the unit for 4 months and last week while driving to work the screen went black, the unit was still working it was just the screen. The next time I started the car the screen came back....weird.
Other then this the units ace!

Just to give you a quick update, I received my PX3 unit about a week ago and installed it. At first I encountered one main bug which was that the radio app would go to the background automatically every time I opened it, dasaita sent me the link to the MCU thread and everything updated fixing the issue.
As far as launchers go, I stuck with Car Web Guru for now as it gave the most options on a free basis to experiment with different themes.
The only thing I've noticed is that the backup camera image is a little laggy but nothing to die for.
The only thing I'm still trying to figure out is how to get my wifi hotspot to start automatically (Note 8) when connected to CAR KIT, I tried tasker but it says unable for my device.
I love this HU! and Dasaita on ebay has been very responsive.

Hello I have bought a Dasaita HA2039-S720 for Mitsubishi Outlander 2014. I have the same Issue with my Radio App. Everytime I open it, it goes in background. Kill it with the Task Manager can't stop the Music. I have to reboot the Device. I have MCU Version MTCE_HA_V2.75.1 and ROM px3-userdebug 7.1.2NHG47L eng.hct.20171206.143935 test-keys.
Did a system update realy fix your Problem? I noticed that this happend every time a station is scanned and saved. Delete the Cache and Programm Data from Radio App in the App section fixed the issue but you have no music then but white noise.
I have some Issues with apps in general. Sometimes Apps are crashing and did not load properly and stuck while loading.
My OEM Rear CAM Image is laggy and not very smooth too.
Today I tried to update die Rom with this Version HCT2_px3_7.1(20180206) but it failed. Don't know if it's the right one. The Device found this Image and promptet me to update. After a short loading screen a Faild message appeared on the screen and it showed an options screen. I inserted another SD CARD with the image of the update and choosed "update from SD or USB" but it failed again so I rebooted the system. I choose swipe in the beginning and after a reboot the system was in factory condition.
But can anybody explain me what went wrong and how to properly make a Rom and MCU update.
Thanx

Hey guys I just wanted to become a part of this I just purchased and installed this type radio along with the Bluetooth adapter for the cars computer. Hopefully I will soon get the ATSC digital antenna so I can watch TV when my wife goes in to shop for something that will supposedly: "only take a minute." I have to say the install was incredibly easy. Everything works very well and sounded great connected to my factory system of the 2013 Kia Optima. I did use the radio's subwoofer output and added a 300 watt powered Rockford Fosgate subwoofer. It all sounds amazing together. I attached two photos of the type of radio I purchased (or tried to. Kinda new here).

I would like to know the boot time for this Android 8 version? I am looking at getting one for my Chevy Cruze but the boot time is a big thing for me.

My Dasaita PX5 4/32 unit (MCU version 2.88) turns completely off in 30 seconds (lowest preset in system settings) after turning the ignition off.
When turning the ignition on the unit is starting up behind the scenes. When you press power it's already half way in the booting process or even done depending on how quick you switch the unit on.
I'd say about 15 seconds to boot up. This is with a DAB+ unit and USB stick attached.
If you want instant on (e.g. when shopping for an hour or doing multiple deliveries), you can play with the different off time presets in the system settings.

How good is the microphone performance? I have an old android headunit that I could never get mics to work properly on. Voice calls and "Okay Google" is important for me when I upgrade.

It's an MTCD - they're pretty much all the same.
For best peformance on this platform, use an external mic, which may require the internal disconnected.

Sorry, I'm just curious as I just got one for my car installed... but the internal microphone performance is horrible. The box came w/ an external microphone, but is there something i need to do to disable the internal microphone?

Like any MTCD unit, first boot is approx 15-20 secs, with the unit sleeping thereafter resulting in 'instant' resume.

Galaxy S2 with Parrot MKi9200 Handsfree

OK, first post here, but I think it's a useful one!!
Collected a Galaxy S2 on Monday night from the 3 store in the Trafford Centre. Absolutely love it!, fantastic handset.
Or so I thought until last night.....
This was the only bugbear/issue that the phone gave me and gave me no end of grief; I paired it with my Parrot 9200 Car Kit, as with any other phone. All seemed to be well.
That was until I tried to make a call. When I pressed the green button on the handsfree to initiate voice dialling, android launched the "Voice Commands" program, which tried to take over. Unfortunately, the voice commands program required a little bit of interaction with the phone, and wasn't particularly accurate over bluetooth.
Tried deleting and re-pairing, turning off voice commands over bluetooth, which just bypassed the hands free mic, to the handset!!. Grief grief grief.
OK, I thought, I'll just manually select the numbers on the car kit. A bit of a ballache, but it'll do!
Wrong, the phonebook hadn't downloaded, and no amount of tweaking the car kit or the phone could sort it.
There was very limited info on this, hence the reason for this post!
After much googling, I found that the latest version of the Parrot firmware had an additional pairing setting; "Force AT Sync".
So, car kit updated with the latest firmware from the Parrot website, on the car kit, I navigated to Settings>Bluetooth Settings> Pair With> Force AT Sync. (This is at the bottom of the list of phones that the kit "knows" about by default.
Seconds later, my phone was requesting permission for the car kit to access the phone book, and syncing away nicely.
No more voice commands software, and the Parrot kit is working as it should, completely hands free!
Cheers
Tim
Thanks for the info on this. I'm thinking about getting the same kit, can I ask what the sound quality is like through Bluetooth?
Update:
I've just had an MKi9200 fitted. Only had a couple of hours to play with it but so far I'm delighted.
Feel free to ask questions.

Does it work?
Yep, works really well.
Phone calls are very clear for both parties and (to me at least) the bluetooth music sound quality is really good. It's not a top of the line speaker system but it's clear and the volume is adequate.
It cuts in with the sat nav directions nicely. I had a bluetooth headunit before and if I had the phone connected the directions wouldn't interrupt a cd or radio. This works just fine, even if I'm listening to the radio through the stereo, the directions still come through.
I've not tried using the other sound connections yet, iPod, USB stick, aux jack or SD Card. I'll try them all over the next couple of days.
I'm thinking about taking the SD card out of the phone and using that way as it only lets you move the tracks foreward and backwards on a playlist or album if you use bluetooth. You have to use the phone to select another artist or album etc. Also, an SD card would let you see the album art and display the track details on the Parrot screen.
The only thing that isn't working correctly at present is that the remote won't skip tracks if the music player isn't displayed on the phone. If I have the sat nav screen up the track forward and backward keys are ignored.
I'm just going out to update the software though so this might fix that.
Anything else you need to know?
Right, I've updated the software which was really painless.
The sat nav stopping the track controls from working only happens in Co Pilot, not in Google Navigation.
I tried using my SD card from my phone in holder and it didn't seem to pick it up. I might need to leave it in longer (about 28 gig of music on it) or it might be that the card is too large at 32GB. The Parrot website says that there is no limit to card size but that sounds a bit optimistic to me.
Other than that though, I'm delighted so far.
I've got one of these too. Great bit of kit. I did notice a tweak in the VillainRom thread that ups the Bluetooth audio quality, if that's how you're using it. Haven't tried it yet myself.
One thing I have noticed is it's a bit hit and miss when play and pause work. I could never get into the car and press play, and just have it resume the last thing that was playing (usually BeyondPod). In the end I set Tasker up to automatically start playing when Bluetooth connects. Job done.

Have a look for a post by Faremoney on May 16th in the VillainRom thread over in the dev forum. It's to do with altering the Bluetooth bitpool. I'd link, but I don't think I can from the app.

The only annoyance I have now, which is more parrot related is that if I have a usb memory key and sd card connected, even if i had been.listening to music on the sd card, next time I get in the car and press play, it defaults back to the usb.
All in all, the kit is impressive. I bought mine about 18 months ago and gave nearly £300 fitted. A couple of months ago, I bought a kit for my girlfriend, brand new for £110 and fitted it myself in 40 mins!!
Definitely recommended.

Ordered a second hand unit off ebay for 65 and getting it fitted late this week/early next week.
Has anyone figured out a way to charge the s2 from the iphone connector?
Hi there
Hope all ok with yours. I've been delighted with mine so far.
It does charge off the USB connector, don't need to use the iPhone end. It seems to deliver quite a small charge though so I still use a cigarette lighter socket.
From memory you can set the phone to storage mode and the Parrot kit will read the music contents of the phone but I had trouble with a larger capacity card. I'm happy with the audio quality over Bluetooth so this was the simplest way for me to work.
Let me know if that doesn't make sense or if you have any other questions.

Working but could be better...
Hi,
I have updated my MKi9200 Parrot software and set the "Force AT Sync". Effectively I don't have the phone voice commands anymore and it is already much better. Thank you for this.
However, I experience some interruptions of sound each time I use the phone (like just checking my mail) or each time an event occurs on the phone (like reception of an email notice or reception of SMS notice). It is not comfortable when listening to music...
Also, I had a much better experience with my Parrot and another phone than SG2. With SG2 + Parrot, sometimes you press the green button on Parrot and you don't get the voice command to dial, sometimes you have a phone ring and you can't take the call when pushing the green button on Parrot, sometimes you can't hang up after a call, sometimes it only works after several attempts of push on a given button.
Well, it is better than before but still not working as it should. Of course, when the Parrot buttons are not responding, I can still get the command right using the phone screen to take the call or hang-up but it is really not safe at all while ones drives his car in the same time...
Has anyone here found a solution first not to get those cuts on phone events?
Has anyone found a better setting to make sure the Parrot buttons are always working with SG2?
Has anyone experienced the same kind of troubles despite the "Force AT Sync" mode is set like on my SG2?
Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for confirming. much appreciated.

I can't find how to get latest firmware from the parrot website
Your post was interesting but for the life of me I can't work out where to get a newer version of firmware! I have just put in the unit and was dismayed when I called Samsung and was told that I can't put my contacts in it! It seems that you have so I'd love to know where and how you got the firmware you refer to.
You can get it from here http://www.parrot.com/uk/support/downloads
Hi guys, just registered. I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 (with 2.3.5 KI3) and a Parrot LS-3400GPS carkit. It pairs without problems but of course it is a bit limited so I would like to change it with a Parrot MKi9200. I'm reading in many places there are a lot of issues with Android phones. I also wrote di Parrot and they do CONFIRM. But the problem (they say) is not in the carkit sw but in the Android! So strange...
On the parrot forum there are still users with mic issues, contact sync issues and voice command issues, even with the last 1.96 fw.
I've read here that everything works fine using "force at sync".
I understood that it does sync but what about the voice commands? Any problems?
Is there a conflict with the parrot ones?
I'm really confused
Thank You

Bluetooth Not Connecting - Worked Previously

OK, so I got everything working on my unit back in November. Bluetooth worked fine and connected with my phone and OBD device (OBDLink LX).
Suddenly within the last couple of weeks, it's stopped connecting. I have tried rebooting the radio, unplugging/replugging my bluetooth OBD, unpairing the phone, repairing, etc... Nothing seems to work for more than a few minutes. Sometimes it will work for one trip, but then the next trip it's back to REFUSING to connect to either bluetooth device. Remember - BOTH worked before, and I didn't change anything.
Since it's happening with both my Phone and my OBD device, it appears like it is a fault in the stereo. I really don't want to do a full factory reset as that would entail many hours sitting in the car wasting gas idling while I reinstall/reconfigure EVERYTHING only to not even be sure it won't do this again.
Anybody have any tips on something I can do to fix this? There does not appear to be any kind of "unpair" option in the bluetooth settings on the radio itself. I'm wondering if there's a way I can manually reset just all of the bluetooth settings - blow them away and start over without resetting the whole device.
This is a pretty big deal - one of the #1 reasons I bought this device was for OBD datalogging. If that feature does not work, I will rip it out of my dashboard and ebay it. PERIOD...
Adcice?
Nobody?
I tried changing the bluetooth device name, changing the PIN and re-pairing my devices. They work intermittently, but 90% of the time won't connect, or if they do, they won't stay connected.
This is turning my radio into an expensive piece of garbage...

Try keeping wifi on all the time (even if not actually connected to any network).

I do have Wifi on all the time. I have an LTE Hotspot I keep in the glovebox of my car that powers up as soon as the car powers on. So there's 100% wifi coverage for my stereo no matter where I'm at.
I can randomly get it to connect, but it won't stay connected. When I'm in the bluetooth menu, the devices will actually disappear from the paired devices list. Both paired and available will go blank just suddenly as the devices drop off. Then they'll reappear on their own. So it appears to be the bluetooth stack is crashing - but I'm not sure why.
It is a KLD RK3188 unit. Running latest MCU (came preloaded, just bought it in November - I haven't put a new MCU) and recent firmware, which is a stock firmware, not MalaySK (MalaySK doesn't support the digital display below the screen on my unit)...
At this point this unit is trash if I can't keep Bluetooth working more than 10% of the time.

Some smartphones might show an incompatibility with the radio's BT stack. To be sure try with another smartphone.
I would see if it pairs reliably with just one device at a time. My phone has issues connecting with the HU if I first connect my BT headset to the phone but works fine if I do it after. Also the construction of these seems to be sub-par and it could be the bt device or antenna in yours was not connectec/mounted well and you hit a pothole and now its not attached/broken/loose. It may be worth opening and looking inside for something that broke off or is loose. Finally, I have had (well still have) my factory settings change randomly and have to go in and reset. There are settings in the for BT module and it may be worth looking to see if yours are correct.
I also have problems with mine but I'm running Marshmallow in my OPO. As soon as i go back to Lollipop (CM 12.1) it works again.

Turns out I think it's the OPO. Mine has issues even with 12.1. I think it's based on Modem version not firmware version. Your modem may have been changed when you went back to 12.1.
For me changing modem versions is something I really want to avoid. I hunted forever for a modem version that didn't constantly drop WiFi and LTE, finally found one, and I think that's when the Bluetooth issues started. Every time I flash a modem to the OPO it becomes a nightmare. That phone really does not want you messing with the firmware which is not what I expected when I bought it.
For now I'm back on my old Nexus 5. No problems. I may just sell the OPO and never stray from Nexus again.

Hmmm.
My OPO doesn't connect to the headset but my chinese BT OBD dongle connects fine and works.
I have the same problem with my unit but phone working.Only obd2 adapter some times not connecting.Have you find any solution?
I have a similar issue with the Pixel XL.
Previous I was on a Nexus 5 Bluetooth worked perfectly every time without fail, could make calls, listen to music and sync address book no issue.
Now since moving to the Pixel XL I have an issue connecting to the head unit. The head unit shows as a connected device, but then flashes green then grey, green, grey showing connected, disconnected... I can still stream music from my phone over Bluetooth, but voice is not achievable.
Like suggested it's likely to be the BT stack in the handset rather than the head unit as works fine with Nexus 5. Highly frustrating and likely no fix unless it can be patched by software update
I'm also having the same problem as you noodlemctwoodle on a Nexus 6P with 7.1 developer preview.
I've un-enrolled from the beta program this morning, waiting for the ota to come down, as soon as it does will re-test and let you know if it's working, as I suspect it is a problem with the bluetooth stack in 7.1
MTCD MLT (Xtrons TD618AS) Bluetooth and OBD Reader
I have had issues with the Bluetooth on the MTCD MLT V1.76_1 (Xtrons TD618AS).
I found a work around which allows me to use the OBD reader successfully. I downloaded an Android Bluetooth App and toggled off the Bluetooth. Once the Bluetooth was toggled off I was able to access the OBD reader by using the "Piston" OBD app. I tapped on the car picture and waited for the app to think about things. Once the app finished thinking I was able to start capturing the live OBD data by pressing the play picture. I am only speculating, but I feel as though perhaps the firmware engineers goofed. This is even the OBD reader that Xtrons promoted as compatible with the TD618AS stereo I bought with it at the same time. Not to mention that I continually lose FM radio even though the stereo was professionally installed and no wires were cut. I was very excited, and now only depressed.

Bluetooth and Car Audio

Anyone else having issues with connecting the 7T to their car and getting audio going out of it? My OG Pixel didn't have a problem, but I have to toggle off/toggle on Bluetooth and then manually tap the car's bluetooth listing to get it to actually 'connect' the audio portion.
Rather annoying, considering I'm only in the car for a few minutes at a time, this either eats into the time entirely, or makes me sit in my car for a couple minutes before even driving to fiddle with the bluetooth settings.
Car has stock headunit, 2015 Evo X. Like I said, original Pixel XL had no issues, but this is annoying. I've tried changing bluetooth versions to no avail. I can see it connecting and dropping the bluetooth connection fairly frequently while staring at it and trying to 'get it going'. But once it connects, it stays there.
My bluetooth headphones (Some knock off cheap Chinese ones for $20) don't seem to have an issue.
My connection to my aftermarket stereo is fine. Just seems a little quieter than my last phone. Connecting is kind of slow too when I start my car but it is automatic.
I don't have any issues with connecting to all 3 cars (2014 Honda Accord, 2009 Pontiac G8 Gt and a 2018 Honda Fit) but I do agree that the volume seems a little lower than my previous phone (Galaxy S8).

Hmm. Weird. Is there anyway I can check for logs to find out what exactly is happening? I haven't rooted, just don't know if it's something I can naturally pull from Android as a whole.
I had the same issue, but when I made the phone discoverable and initiated bt from the car stereo it seemed to work.
I also set a custom pin , not the default 0000
My bluetooth is quiet, but its also static-y. I never had any issues with my G6 and now I get static clipping every 10 or so seconds. Its unbearable.

I'm not really having an issue pairing it, but it's just connecting after pairing is the problem.
I have changed the default pin. I can see it popping up and down the car stereo a few times in the bluetooth settings before it just gives up.
As for the other issues, I'm not having a problem at all with audio volume, nor popping/static when it finally does connect.
My volume is super low when connected to Android Auto and streaming music. Have to turn the radio up to max. However, I'm assuming that's an AA issue or Android issue, as it seems many others are having the same problem with different phones. Been thinking of adding an aftermarket amp to the car. Maybe I should pull the trigger. Lol

My OnePlus 7t connects fine and phone works for calls on 2014 cts. The sound comes out of phone can change song on head unit but I can't get audio to play through car. Anyone else get this?
Yeah music stutters with car player... Only calls work. Music works on headphones etc. I couldn't find solution, did network reset, cleared cache. Nothing works.
Seriously!
I've wasted at least two hours already trying all the recommended steps: from flicking icons on and off to a full phone reset.
Still no connection to my Suzuki S-cross car. Multiple previous phones have connected effortlessly.
Even the $50 temporary five year old borrowed phone could handle it.
Anyone got any other suggestions? Yes, tried the AVRCP setting change from 1.4 to 1.6. That didn't work either...
Barebones system reset from scratch running O2 OS 10.0.6HD65AA
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
I need to be able to talk and drive!
Reset the car radio and clear all pairing data if you can. Then try again.

Thanks for the suggestion.
Tried that.
Tried one other car - no problems.
Tried a tablet and a very old phone with the car and suprise - the car's bluetooth seems to be the problem.
I will try and find out if I can fix the car!
UPDATE: Morale of the story - read the car manual very very carefully and go though each tedious step = SUCCESS

Yep most have lots of tedious steps that are different model to model and if not followed exactly will cause this problem on occasion..
In my case music starts to be scrambled after 10 minutes or so of listening. When I take the phone (so the watch pops up) or turn on the screen it immediately works fine again, but when being put aside and the screen turns off, the issue starts again ..
Also in the early days of my previous 5t I had the same issues but some fix was delivered together with oxygen os update. And now the same story again
I have a different issue with Bluetooth:
- OP7T connects to car Bluetooth fine
- I can make/answer calls
- Bluetooth media works fine
The problem is with Google Assistant & car audio:
- it was working as intended until the latest update - 10.0.15 - I was pressing the button on the steering wheel the google assistant was answering questions through the car bluetooth, no need to switch to bluetooth media.
- after the latest update, when I press the button on the steering wheel, Google assistant pops on the phone , starts to answer question, but cuts off after 5 seconds. the command still goes through and Assistant still runs, but does not come up on the car audio.
- it looks like the Assistant is not connecting to the car as a hands free, but as to a bluetooth handsets.
Anyone experiencing this?

Perfect VW integration possible?

Hi all,
I've recently sold my old car which included the Max 6 HU that I put it in. That unit was finally acceptable compared to the other ones I had before. Right now I've got a MK6 VW Golf with a RNS 315 in it. Works fine and it's rocks solid, but it's so outdated and ugly and cumbersome to use...
So I'm looking around for a new unit, but so far haven't found anything nice. I did see the RCD330 with Android Auto, but that doesn't have DAB which I really want.
I'm wondering about a few things, maybe someone with a CAN enabled car can tell me. The Golf has a simple display that can display various things like current media playing, and navigation instructions. Will this also be possible? For example when I play a BT song, or listen via FM, or listen to DAB+, will that be displayed?
The most important thing is regarding navigation, is that displayed? Is that possible? I know that for example Sygic shows a navigation banner in the notification panel. I'm sure that can be read out with another app? I'm an app developer myself, so I was wondering what the possibilities are here. Can I send data over the CAN bus to the display to show what I want?
Also, is it possible to switch between DAB+ and FM when the DAB+ reception gets worse? The factory unit switches between them depending on the reception.
I'm just wondering if all the hassle and possible bugs and glitches are worth it for the more modern head unit. I love the look of them, with the nicer and better display and navigation app, but the reliability wasn't always great, even on my Max 6. I had to reboot sometimes to get a GPS signal for example. Sorry if this is not the right area for this.

Doesn't appear so. Maybe better suited as a q&a as the post isn't adding value or contributing.

Help needed with understanding Xtrons HU navigation features

I recently installed a Xtrons PQS90MTVL head unit in a skoda superb. I have a couple of questions on how to get it to work correctly when navigating.
1) It seems that you can set the navigation sounds to be a percentage of the radio volume but cannot set it to play at a given volume regardless. The problem is that the radio seems to be constantly on and there is no way to turn it off. The 'on/off' button simply mutes the radio - and the navigation sounds.
Often I am in an area where I cannot pick up a decent radio signal on the programme I want and just get static. In these situations I want to turn the radio off but still hear navigation sounds. I don't want to listen to loud static just so I can have the nav sounds play at a percentage of that static. Is there a way to turn the radio off but still get navigation sounds? (a workaround I have found is to play a media file instead of the radio and then pause playback. The nav sounds are then still a percentage of the - non existent - playback volume. However this should not be necessary)
2) It also seems that a Internet connection is needed for any navigation. even google maps won't do a search without it as it says I am offline. (is this true?)
I have bought the 4G wifi dongle but have a question about its use. Does the HU connect to the dongle, as far as data is concerned, via the USB socket that comes out of the back of the unit or is that socket simply powering the dongle and the HUI is actually connecting to it over wifi using the dongle as a hotspot? If so then I don't have to use the wired usb socket from the unit (which I suspect is underpowered) and can plug the dongle into an ordinary 2A USB socket that I have in the car, positioning the dongle near the roof for a better signal
Incidentally I did try using Android Auto with my phone using wired connection. That seems sort of OK but is not very reliable. Often when starting the car it hangs at the 'connected' screen, or even at the 'trying to connect' screen, although other times it seems OK
3) There is a small socket on the left hand side of the HU that looks like a slot for a small memory card or a sim card. It is labelled 'GPS'. What is that socket used for? it is not mentioned in the manual as far as I can see. - The manual is generally a bit hand waving though, excitedly telling you what you can do but not how to do it.
(I did try the xtrons forum but not only are the last posts there around January 2022 but there seems to be no way to register for it. Hence posting here)

All I know is the model is Xtrons PQS90MTVL so maybe its MTVL (whatever that is) I'm afraid I don't know what mcu means so cannot offer any version for it. Its possible I have posted this in the wrong section and have rep[osted in 'Android Head-Units'. If that is the right place and this is the wrong place, please can you delete this post
