T-Mobile Sucks For This Reason . . . - LG V30 Guides, News, & Discussion

I ordered my v30 on the 5th.
I received it about a week later via ups truck from the east coast ( eight hundred dollar item blindly dropped on my front door step )... grumble...
Just received a text message a minute ago alerting me that they ( t-mobile billing ) snagged $75 from my poor piggy bank...
Boo Hoo Hoo ! ! !

Please explain? What are you talking about, without the drama?
They lied to you about something?
They charged you for something they shouldn't have?
They charged you for something you didn't expect?
They overcharged you, should have been a lesser charge?

For the benefit of the group, I am starting a dialog asking which provider "sucks less" . . .
.
On my last phone with Project Fi, I had nothing but a GREAT provider experience. . . . Really. . . . . So, I messed up big time wandering away from Fi... The phone matters equally to the service provider ?

So you are complaining about the monthly service charge? That's what I'm trying to clarify, because you gave no information.
I thought maybe they were charging for shipping the phone or something.

I dunno... I ordered mine on 10/6. They released on 10/10. Had mine 10/11 for $800+sales tax.
No fees, no shipping, no SIM swap.
Guess it's who you talked to or didnt talk to.

Yeah, you're going to have to explain why they actually "suck". So far I don't see what the complaint is about. Unless you ask for faster shipping, a week is the listed normal ship time. As for the shipper leaving the item on the door, that might be on the shipper as I know my correspondence from UPS said this item needed to be signed for upon delivery. And you don't specify what the $75 was for. Your bill for the T-mobile service? I don't get it. I'm pretty certain all carriers charge you to use their service. (I know for a fact that my T-mobile bill is massively cheaper than Fi since I run about 10GB or more of data per month.)

My experience with T-Mobile has been great!

mine came with a 20$ upgrade fee or something fee which i didn't appreciate...but doing the payment system my first payment was $80 for the phone. they shipped the phone 1 day air which requires a signature though.

My experience has been awesome with tmo! I just switched in August from lifetime with AT&T. Night and day better in customer service. I ordered my tmo V30 on Oct 5th and the rep gave me free overnight and I got it on the 6th! He waived all activation fees and even included a free sim. You must of just gotten in touch with a bad rep.

I ordered my V30 from T-Mobiles website last Friday. I arranged for it to be delivered to a UPS store since I knew I wasn't going to be home to receive it. It arrived there today and I am going to pick it up after work. Everything seemed pretty straight forward for me. Can't wait to have it in my hands

Dunno what you're on about mate. I was one of the many disappointed that they failed so hard on stocking stores on the 13th. Tried over the weekend but when the 16th rolled around I decided to hit up support. I explained that I was disappointed, that if they had it in stores like their advertisements said they would, I would already have it in hand. I asked them to ship it to me overnight. I wasn't rude, but I didn't say "please" either. I said "at this point I don't think it's too much to ask to have it overnighted to me". They made it happen. No support/upgrade fee, no shipping fee, no nothing. It was at my door 2 days later (didn't ship out the day I put in the request).
And good luck getting a better experience with any of the other carriers.

The money they charged you was for the tax ya dingus. Stop whining on here and call customer service and ask. They'll tell you it's that taxes for the phone.
Their customer service is the absolute best in the business.

T-Mobile will charge $20 upgrade fee if you are not trading in a device.
For me it was $80 plus taxes up front. So about $150. I traded in my 6s.
I'm using a loophole in my JUMP 1 in order to fiancee more than one phone with only one line. Then I keep one and trade one in.
Next year, I'll likely trade my V30.
If not, I'll pay the the upgrade fee if I decide to keep both of my devices.
Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk.

I've been a T-Mobile customer for almost 20 years and have had excellent customer service when I needed it in the past.
I pre-ordered my LG V30 on the 5th of Oct and received it next day on the 6th.
I'm on the Jump One plan and upgraded from my V20...ended paying $130 total, $80 down and $50 in State Tax.
Started with LG G4, V10 to V20 and now V30.
Best one yet! :good:

Yeahhhhh....haha thanks ??
Sorry about that lol.

Out of all the carriers I have used across 3 countries, T-Mobile is the only one I can say really goes above and beyond the norm. They do send you a text for any payments, which is something I like. I am enrolled in auto-pay, so it is nice to get that text and payment confirmation when it happens. When you pay the full price for a phone, they willingly unlock it without question, once you request it. Most other carriers charge you a fee. Whether I walk into a T-Mobile store in Kentucky, Virginia, Florida, New York, or any other state. I have always been treated like a valued customer.
The closest thing to T-Mobile is I have also used is Telus in Canada. They are just the best of the average and do nothing to make me feel like I want to do business with them. Then again, compared to the alternatives in Canada and the UK. You feel like you really have very little choice. In the US, it isn't much different. My girlfriend is currently on AT&T and the issues I end up yelling at them for will ensure I never give them my business, ever! The treatment I witnessed a friend receive in a Verizon store northern Kentucky was so bad, I am shocked her boyfriend didn't go to the store and punch some manors and respect into the face of that sales person.
Anyway... What is your issue(s) with them? Do you not have some sort of unlimited plan? If you do have overages, they will take those when they are calculated, if you are subscribed to auto-pay separately from your monthly service fees transaction. You really don't give any reason for you not being happy with them.

There is two basic ways to run 'service'. . There is proactive and then there is reactive. . Proactive earns them good feelings. . Reactive earns them money. I did all this purchasing over the phone because I found their website less than optimal. . I did want to order immediately ( because last year did not go so well being late to the ordering ) and I did not want to take a work day off to purchase a phone.
.
I didn't want the 'everything' plan but that is what i got. . I did not want to be charged for a month's service when I got thirteen day's worth but that is what i got. . I did not want to have the 'very expensive item' dropped blind on the door step because . . . I know the kid down the block is 'not' such a fantastic example of a human being. . ( maybe he got dropped on his head when he was a baby - so it's not really his fault . . . ) . I did not want or ask for the purchase of JUMP plan but that is what I got.
.
Every thing / step they did was to increase their ( automatic ) intake of money ! . How about the novel approach of asking me...
.
So i called them up and got it all straightened out . . But I 'had to call' !

Dude..
I"ve read your opening post and your follow up and I still don't know what the hell you're crying about. You make a bold title and then proceed to confuse people. You're mad because they chose UPS?

Groan . . .
Post #18 lines it up . . . . Ya, the delivery scarred the crap out of me and got me upset, but more so, they charge, and then you find out about the charges and then you have to go about fixing it. . I made that post before I called for service . . . Fortunately the phone service rep was nice !

Having trouble finding tp2 in US

Well, Tmo customer care says they are available... though NO store with in 50 miles of me has one. First store I checked had no idea what I was talking about. They said: "Touch Pro, you mean the My Touch?" NO "Oh, I am sorry that phone isn't available yet."
Call Customer care back, while sitting in parking lot. They call every local store in my area for me. When they finish I am told they don't know why no stores in my area have one. Their system is showing phones in stores and available!
Any body else in other parts of US having issues?
I live in PA.
As far as I know and acording to other threads with the same subject
in USA will be on sale starting today, so availability issues are normal on 1st days always.
Have a look here:

Just called customer care back. Ordered through them.
However, this morning the phone cost $279 with a 2 year agreement. Now it is $349!! What?
I have been with tmo for 10 years. So their customer retention department told me they would credit one months bill to compensate for the price change. Bringing the total cost of the phone down to 299. Not 279, but it works.
Also, they say you NEED to have a data plan with this phone... not the case, if you don't want it. I was told all I needed to do was keep my unlimited messaging plan...So, for now, that is what I chose.
I should have my phone with in a week.

Shipments are coming in tomorrow (8/13/09). All of my stores don't have them today, but they confirmed that tomorrow they're getting them. So, you wasted lots of time, and you gotta wait a whole week for it to ship!
And the price is $350. Idk where you're getting the idea that it's $270. That is COMPLETELY false.
I got mine from the Tmobile store..
2 local stores had them in stock. But cost me $349!!! I am still not sure if I like it better than the MyTouch I got last week.
This thing is big, it is not much thicker or longer than the Mytouch but is heavier..
i would rather have it be heavy then have it fall backwards everytime the screen is slid open.
i'm guessing it has some sort of weight in the bottom of the keyboard area to prevent this.

That was the price Customer care was quoting this morning. There is even a thread that shows this... look at the thread with the price of $349 in the title...
They changed the price mid day... customer care confirmed this!
Still, because I called earlier today, and got the quote of $279! they gave me one months free service to accommodate the price differential... And no, I did not waste time.. I spent a bit of time and got close to the price I wanted.

Ok, lol. That's weird. But it was THEIR messup, and you get to benefit, nice!
I'm probably gonna pay the sucker-price in-store, since I don't wanna go through that Walmart crap, or wirefly. I really can't wait. Just 1 more day. I'm a lil pissed that they couldn't get them in-stock today though. What a terrible launch. Shows that T-Mobile doesn't care about WinMo one bit. I didn't even see a poster on the store, or the online store.
10 years! Wow!!! In that case you should of got the phone for free. Lol
Hey Ace.... I think this is what they did:
They told me at 10am (eastern time) that I had to wait until 10 am Pacific time to purchase. I looked at tmo's website at about 1am, they had it listed at $279. But I could not put it in my cart...
Now, since the phone wasn't really available any where today, and they changed the price half way through the day... I think what they did was gage customer reaction to the phone. When they found out it was hotter then expected they raised the price before any real supply of the phone was actually available. They released just enough today so that we, the consumer, would not have too much to stand on to accuse them of bait and switch type pricing.
Heavy: Yeah, 10 years!!! They should give me a darn phone for free!!!
Besides these little things, Tmo has always been good to me, that is why I am still a customer. I signed up with them when there were still PCS One!

Get your Tilt 2 with 2yr contract for $299 shipped next day

NOTE:
Information in this threat may no longer be as crucial as it was back in Oct 8, when phone was still unavailable for non-business customers. Since Tilt2 was released today, Oct 18, officially, make sure you explore all your options.
Price (WITH A NEW 2 year contract): $299 (NO REBATES), FREE NEXT DAY shipping with FedEx. NO CHANGES TO THE PLAN. AT all. Whatever plan u got - they don't touch it. (I get to keep my $19/mo unlimited data)
So, call this number: 866 499 8008 (corporate)
Tell them that you're not a business customer, but you _SHOULD_ be eligible for the Tilt 2.
They will ask for your number, SSN, etc, and will tell you that you're eligible and they have the phone (if it's not out of stock by that time... mine wasn't).
Say "YA BABY WOOO", then tell them that your wife/friend/cat got this phone thru this line for $299 shipped, NOT the $389 they may offer you. 5-10 minutes of persuasion and you'll get it. NO REBATES by the way.
Give em ur address, card number, boom - get ur phone next day.
Have fun. I'm getting mine saturday morning.
:dancing banana:
P.S: YES i know I posted this deep in another thread as well, but it will be buried in 10-15 minutes.. so to help people out (like me), here it is.
REBATE FORM (thanks to gmischenko): In addition, it seems you can get a $50 Mail-in-Rebate with Tilt2. You may not be eligible, but you should definitely try and send the form in.
Here is the Rebate Form
Oct 18 UPDATE: $199 Tilt2?
JML5150 is reporting that you can get a Tilt 2 for $199 with a new service plan HERE.
HTC Tilt 2 for $279
I was able to get offered the phone for $279 with shipping AND a one-time service credit of $30 or 3 months of a $15 service credit. The $50 mail-in rebate would still be available as well, bringing the total price down to as low as $184 ($279 - $45 - $50). This was calling 866-499-8008 and asking to speak with someone in Customer Retention.
To get this price, I was transferred to Customer Retention (or whatever it is AT&T calls it these days) and explained my situation. I explained that if AT&T could not offer a more competitive price/contract that I would cancel my service as soon as my contract is up (I am a current Premier customer, eligible for upgrade 10/15/2009 and contract ending 12/1/2009).
I declined. The reason: this still required a 2-year contract. Verizon is offering the same phone on a 2-year contract for $149.99 and on a 1-year contract for $179.99. Where I live, the Verizon & AT&T coverage is pretty much the same, as are the service plans/prices and my corporate discount. Therefore, the only distinguishing things are the length of contract and up-front cost for the phone, given the contract length. Verizon wins in both of these categories (not to mention the all black Verizon TP2 looking nicer IMO).
I switched from Verizon to AT&T last year when I got the HTC Fuze for free on a 1-year contract (this was the Black Monday sale on the Premier site the Monday after Thanksgiving). Long story short: I saw this sale about 5 days after I purchased my Fuze at 2-year contract price (1-year commitment because of my Premier discount) and it was a big hassle, but I finally got the first phone returned and my contract changed to 1-year (as was offered on the Premier site). I was excited to switch to AT&T because of the 1-year commitment with 2-year contract pricing, as well as the competitive pricing of AT&T phones vs. the other carriers.
Now I'm up for renewal and this is no longer the case. Everyone I spoke to at AT&T said that 1-year contracts are no longer offered by AT&T direct. AT&T National Business Orders (800-331-0500), AT&T stores, and independent sellers may offer 1-year contracts, but AT&T direct does not. Also, the AT&T price for the phone is more than twice the price that Verizon charges and AT&T can't even compete with Verizon's 1-year contract pricing. After explaining all this to the retention rep she offered me the phone at $279 with 2-year contract and 3 months of $15 service credit).
FYI: Speaking with Paul over at National Business Orders (800-331-0500) he gave me the following prices:
2-year contract: $349.99
1-year contract: $424.99
No contract: $499.99
SO, my plan is to wait a little bit. If the phone price drops to between $150 and $200 soon (or to $0 the Monday after Thanksgiving ) I will consider re-upping with AT&T (after speaking with Customer Retention again). I just can't justify spending AT&T's asking price right now, given that it is so much higher than their competitors and they do not want to offer a more reasonable 1-year contract price.
Excellent advice, gmischenko, once again proves that prices these days are something you wanna fight/threaten/yell about...
Good deal you got there, and definitely everyone should try that Pure/Tilt 2 rebate form to see if you can get $50 MIR.
Got mine ordered. I had to call the business number. She confided that people would call in and then the device would appear on the website for sale. She checked the website for me and the tilt 2 came up. When i looked again it was there for $349. Cant wait. Thanx for the tips. Where can I find the rebate form?

Someone with a Pure gotta put one up here for Tilts..
FYI guys, there is at least one person confirming that his data plan was automatically upgraded when he put his SIM into a Pure:

Says it took about 48 hours to register his phone in the system after he put his SIM in and then he got a text saying his plan had been upgraded.

commas are your friend =)
If you're getting $388 without contract, that's pretty good imo.
If you're getting $388 with 2 yr contract, that's way too high.

Does this link work for you?
I just ordered on the premier line number (called it in)
$349.00 is what I was given for pricing on the phone. She didn't know if I'd get another $50.00 rebate on that or not .. I decided I didn't care.
She did NOT ask anything about my data plan, or adding data to my plan. I ordered on my wife's number that does not have data on it.
Next day shipping was $14.00, but I'm expecting it next day anyway since I'm one day shipping from Memphis. I didn't want to chance it, and I figure next day delivery is more likely to deliver on a Saturday.
Yeah guys, I think the reason they are not asking anybody about their data plan is because the system is changing it automatically after it detects your IMEI.
Post back after you get your phones and let us know if your data plan changed (after the Online Account Manager detects your new phone).
In that other threaqd, the guy said it took about 48 hours of his SIM being in the new phne for the system to detect his Pure. he then received a text message saying his data plan had been upgraded.
He was not under contract, and bought the Pure at the no commit price (full retail).
Called the Premier number twice again. I had called yesterday and said what OP did, and was told they were backordered.
The first time, I was told I couldn't order it on the phone due to pricing inconsistencies. The second time, I was told it wasn't available until the 18th.
I suppose I'll just wait for the consumer launch?

same here, ordered late yesterday afternoon through premier. $349 + $14 for next day.
finally
just called again and was told that they are not allowed to sell it until the 18th because of the price inconsistency. she said that on the 18th, everyone body will be able to get the phone for the price that premier customers are getting it for. i'll try again in a few minutes.
UPDATE: so after calling a hundred times, i got tired of getting the 388 price and all that crap. so i said ''F it'' and called retention and told them i wanted to cancel all 5 of my lines because they are selling it for almost double the price of verizon. the guy went to go check something and came back and said that he could do it for 259.00 with the upgrade fee waived, free overnight shipping(i tried to use a rebate card i got from att but he said that it all has to be on ONE card, so he waived the 15.00 overnight shipping) also got a early upgrade so i just used it on a line that wasn't due for an upgrade until 2010.
Also, i asked for a tracking number but he said that the system wasn't showing a tracking number, but he gave me a conformation number and told me to call one of the ATT lines or something along those lines and give this to them and they should be able to tell me where my package is and so forth. my question is does anyone know how this work? which ATT line do i call? preimer or business? thanks

My rep specifically said that they will NOT change the plan, as this is an "Equipment Upgrade Only".
Besides, I will try to use my old Simcard, as I always do at an upgade..

[Q] What is wrong with Best Buy?

I am just extremely frustrated with Best Buy for this Note 4 preorder business. I placed my preoder on 10/9. They said when it is here and ready to pick up, we will send you an email. I have not received an email yet, but it has almost been a full week since preorders have been out. (This is specifically in regards to NYC). It baffles me they are not receiving any Sprint Note 4's (regardless if you ordered the black or white version), but they have all the other carriers (with the exception of Verizon). I've been calling Best Buy on the daily to get an understanding as to why the phone has not arrived yet. Everyday is a different answer. I've had one rep tell me it's Samsung's fault because they haven't shipped them out to us. Another rep told me that they do have some coming in but their delivery days into the store are Wed and Fri. Another rep told me we will get them when we get them and just look out for our email.
What is the point of preordering a phone when it doesn't come in and it is already released to the rest of the market? And how do you not give a customer a valid reason as to why the phone is not yet in your store but rather say oh this is a city wide issue? Shouldn't you try to find out as to what is going with the shipment seeing how this is a FLAGSHIP PHONE for Samsung and why is it only the SPRINT version with no delivery? The sad thing is that I used to work for Best Buy about a decade ago, and the service that we gave was better.
Anyone else running into this issue with Best Buy?
Yep. Same issue here with my wife's white sprint phone. I even preordered both the same day as you, the 9th, but I got my black one release day, hers, I get the same exact run around you are getting. It really sucks.
Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
I preordered mine the day preorders opened up and got an email may Thursday night that my phone had arrived and I could pick it up
I placed my pre-order on 09/26/2014 with the ship to home option to avoid the short shipped supplies to the stores. It finally came on Wednesday and I activated it after work. When I went into the store for my price match (I was billed at $349.99 but they dropped it to $299.99), the store manager told me he can't do anything for me because it was an online order. When I asked for my $200 pre-order/rebate via Samsung, he told me that the promotion was changed and it had to be the phone that was on the line that got the upgrade. I told him that when I placed my pre-order, that was not the case and I expect the promotion listed at the time of my pre-order honored. He again told me that he couldn't do anything for me. After several attempts at calling 888-best-buy and remaining on hold for 15+ minutes each time, I just sent an email off to customer service. It's ridiculous how they really screwed the pooch on this whole pre-order process and now are trying to cheat me out of $250! Definitely the last time I pre-order anything from WORSTbuy, maybe last purchase period....
Pre-ordered mine on 10/15, called BestBuy about 30-35 times (from 17 to 22) and as result they change my "expedite" shipping to "express" shipping. Enough for me to receive phone on evening of 22nd.
Every time I called them I heard same crap "tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow" and on 21st I was told that my delivery will be on 20th??? Yes, day before which already passed. WOW, what a service, they deliver into "past time". I exploded and got mine on 22nd as mentioned earlier.
I believe this might be my last pre-order with best buy ever...
i preordered mine the week preorders came available. when i checked on my preorder i found out i don't really have a preorder and have to wait to see if any extra's show up. I have given up calling as that is useless. Im just gonna sit back and wait to see if i can get one if not i guess i just won't upgrade to a new phone. Lesson learned i will never preorder from best buy again i don't care if they give me a million dollars off my upgrade it just isn't worth it.
I'm so fed up with this crap. I suggest contacting your favorite android news sites and imploring them to give this issue more coverage. Maybe then the higher-ups at these multibillion dollar corporations will finally have something to say about why those who preordered still don't have their devices, or even a rough ETA.
I'm in the same boat, as the rest of you.
I've called the store, and the customer service line, every day. It is definitely Best Buys fault. They try to put the blame on Sprint, but I know several people on AT&T, with the same problem. In the AT&T forums, Best Buy, told them them it was AT&Ts fault.
So, as I said a couple of days ago, either AT&T and Sprint, are working together, to sell less phones, and get less people locked into two year contracts, or Best Buy is responsible for this mess.

Why would Sprint not want me to renew my contract? Even if they do away with unlimited data they can still affect that change regardless of my contract renewal, so I'm confused why you're saying that.

I'm agreeing with you. I'm just giving two possible scenarios. One ridiculous possibility, where Sprint and AT&T, are working together, in a conspiracy to sell less phones, and less two year contracts. The other (real) scenario is, it's ALL BBs fault. (BB blames Sprint, when talking to Sprint customers, and AT&T, when talking to AT&T customers). They refuse to acknowledge their incompetence.
I'm in the same boat. And this will DEFINITELY be the last thing. I ever purchase from best buy.
I think they don't want to honor the 200 credit on ****ty phones. The credit is suppose to end Next saturday.
Lets see what happens then. If they extend it or just let it expire then. If the shortage is so bad. Why do other stores
have plenty of stock? It Bestbuy is just screwing us.
Had no problem here with a black Note 4 preorder. They even held it 2 extra days for me while I was at the BABBQ. Not only that but they let me trade in 2 old phones and gave me $200 each, which paid for the 2 years insurance too!!!
Bestbuy screwed up on this one definitely. I ordered my Note 4 on 10-16 and it started off rough. Found out the associate did not update my email address and told me my phone would be available the 17th. I had to gain access to the account called the store and the customer service line friday sat and sun to run around, i dont knows and our next shipments. Finally i got fed up and sent a letter to a corporate member of Bestbuy with my experience and telling them I more than likely would not be buying another phone from them. Its one thing to tell customers hey your phone won't be available until next week up front. Cool i know how it works and backordering can suck. But to tell people paying their money that you just have to wait, we dont know and be patient is unacceptable. Explained the customers are there first priority and are the reason they are successful and deserve communication regardless. Basically, the end story is i'll be getting a gift card in the mail. I also got a call promptly the next morning that my phone was available. Smh.
See i thought this was just me, same issue of pre-ordering on 10/9 except the employee was new and didnt even do the preorder it correctly for me, just charged me for a $50 gift card, found out when i went 10/17 to get phone, have called every day since and nothing now i was reading the $200 trade in is only valid till 11/1?

Samsung promotion had nothing to do with Bestbuy preorder.
Update - So I got an email yesterday morning that my phone was ready to pick-up. You basically have a 24 hour WINDOW to pick up your phone after they email you. How does one set a capped window period to pick up a new phone when the preorders are LATE to begin with? I mean we are waiting and waiting but we could not even be in town when this email comes. I think there is something wrong with that whole system. Anyways, I was lucky that I had a Best Buy Mobile Manager taking care of me. They did honor the $200 credit (after I had to remind him). Purchase Price = $126 (after $200 trade-in) plus some change. The phone itself is a beast (everything from the screen to the materials is awesome). In terms of accessories, I would suggest you guys buy all your **** before and have it ready because Best Buy does not really have many accessories in store. Also, there were issues with activation while in store. The manager called Sprint and they had said that their provisioning services were down nationwide so I had no service for about 4-6 hours. All in all, don't preorder from Best Buy unless you want the hassle. LESSON LEARNED
A while back, just after the Samsung promotion was announced, I fired off an email to Samsung asking them to do something better with an offer at Best Buy. An instant trade in credit on any working smart phone and $50 upgrade bonus on top of that should satisfy most US buyers and leave a lot of others not so fortunate, envious. Had the phones been broadly and readily available and Best Buy chains fully aware of the policies, this would have been a hit that many would have been happy with and look to replicate with repeated patronage. My local BB got it right with some pre-launch dialogue and not so good broad communication on the terms of any working smart phone looked up as $0/recycle. The word was put out to other mobile assistants while I was there, the third person in line. They seemed to have stock and were even trying to get customers the color they preferred. Mileage varies; sorry not everyone got the same or better experience. But to me this was a win and would pre-order there again. I don't think it was all Best Buy's fault. Ample and broad stock may have made this much better of an experience for most. Add it's good to hear that Best Buy is honoring the terms for those in-store pre-orders that were late. Some stores also made exception before hand on terms to satisfy those made online to home delivery because the pre-orders were longer being taken. Cheers and congrats to all who got the terms right. Regards to those that didn't or weren't eligible.

Pretty sure this whole thing is due to best buy overselling the 200 trade in credit. It runs until 11/1. Guaranteed on 11/2, note 4 's will be available for people walking in. Every sprint store in the area has them readily available. This is not just sprint either, best buy has no stock for any carrier and still has not full filled their preorders. At least within 100 mile radius of costa mesa ca. Bummer it was a good deal. Also if your pre order comes in after 11/1 supposedly the 200 trade in deal is out the window, said my local store.

That's my thought. That's why I picked it up at the sprint store.

Best Buy's semi-official stance is that they will be honoring trade in's for all preorders, as mentioned here.
While I don't hesitate to think poorly of Best Buy, this was a multi-million dollar ad campaign - my local stores were slathered in banners, signs, stands, displays, etc touting the $200 trade in FOR PREORDERS ONLY, not to mention the press spreading word (blogs, etc). I can't see how Best Buy could just renege on the the core and only aspect of their advertising, especially after money has already changed hands. Now on the other hand, I think anyone wanting to buy within the extended offer period (non-preorder) will be out of luck, as incoming stock is going to preorders instead and by the time that equalizes the promotion will be over.

T-Mobile Double Your Data Free Memorial Day Sale

So for those of us that just picked up the S6 (Edge or not) T-Mobile is doing a promotion this weekend. They are offering the 64gb version for the same price as the 32gb. I just picked up the 64gb Edge yesterday and figured I would call in and see what they could do for me. Turns out they gave me an $80 bill credit. So if you just picked up your phone give them a call and see if they could help you out! It's a great deal.
Any deal on the 128gb version?
I didn't see anything for the 128gb unfortunately - here's what I saw.
http://www.androidcentral.com/t-mob...storage-galaxy-s6-no-additional-cost-and-more
TMo said a big fat no to me. They said I needed to go to the store, return my phone and get a new one.

Weird - the lady I spoke to put me on hold to talk to her manager then came back and told me I would have a bill credit of $80 within 24 hours. I just checked and it's there.
Sucks were you guys older than the 14 day period?
Callback #2 got me the credit, and a $20 "inconvenience" credit. Nice!

Wtf I chatted with T-Mobile on an online chat and they said I had to do a return exchange. Can somebody guide me here?
EDIT: I have a 32 GB variant.

Probably not much they can do for you. There's no discount on the 32gb versions.
If you get to the customer loyalty department or retail support, they could help you out though.
Did any of y'all goto their website? 128gb for 64gb price.
128 for 64 GB price and 64 for 32 GB price. Anyone got their tracking numbers just yet?
I bought mine a month ago, when I found out they lowered the price for the weekend I called T-Mobile, talked to customer service, I got transferred to customer loyalty department and they said there is noting they can do about it, one of them told me to trade my 128 gb edge for credit and buy another one at the discounted price.. lol... some logic there.
So I went to their facebook page and complained last night.
I got a reply this morning from their T-Force team to msg them on facebook with more details.
After 5 mins I got the reply I needed.
""You're most welcome, Michael. I'm glad you got the S6 Edge. It's a great device. The $100 plus tax credit has been applied, and you'll see that credit impacting your current balance due by dialing #225# and send on your device any time. *JB""
So I checked my balance and sure enough, it was 108 dollars lower.
Then about 30 minutes later I get the text msg
Don't take this the wrong way - but what did you complain about? When you bought the phone a month ago you were content with the price. You were not in your buyers remorse period like some of us were when we talked to the customer service dept. Complaining on a public venue about T-Mobile not giving you money for something you bought over a month ago is kind of ridiculous.
my complain was I had another 128gb I bought from costco, i tried to unlock it and I was told they cant because even though I bought from a tmobile kiosk in costco, it was not a tmobile phone, so I sold it and lost money in the process, bought another one then a few days later they offer it for 100 less? I dont think so.
As far as the 100 dollars, really? you would if you could, so please, don't give me that, and tmobile didnt think it was ridiculous, thats why they gave me the credit.
Its like buying a 75k bmw form the dealer and a month later they drop the price 10k for a weekend, you wont care? give me a break...
Anyways, even if you are out of your buyers remorse period, make some noise and your money back, unless you are mr money bags ^^ and you dont care

Personally, I don't find it ridiculous at all. Everyone wants to try and save some money here and there. Most retailers today have price protection policies for when an item you purchased goes on sale at a later time. My mom always told me that the key to financial management was always trying to find a deal so that the extra money you save could stay in the bank to earn interest. Then again, she also said, "If you don't have anything nice to say"....

Yeah, a few days maybe. Very few companies will do this a month after purchase. Why bother having a sale if they all honored sale prices to anyone who asks over a month after the original purchase? Asking about it is fine - and I understand that completely. Posting complaints about the company for everyone to see on social media because you were told no but feel entitled to the price difference is something else all together.

How Samsung are treating UK customers

Just received this. The must really appreciate us here as they will give us our money back and even collect the device.
We would like to offer our deepest apologies for the trouble you had to experience with the Note7. As you are aware, we have advised all existing Note7 customers to stop using your device, back up your data, and switch it off.
Due to this unfortunate incident and as a token of appreciation to you as our customer, we will offer you a full refund of your purchase or an exchange for any S7 range. We will also collect the defective device from your home so you don’t need to worry about returning it.
We will arrange for a courier to pick up the device from you between the time of 1pm - 6pm on Wednesday 19th October. For your safety please ensure that the device is powered down and is in its original packaging if possible. If you are not available or this time is not convenient to you, please contact 01628 402031 as soon as possible to arrange collection for the following evening.
We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused you. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at any time.
Just got the same email and this paragraph makes me angry.........
"Due to this unfortunate incident and as a token of appreciation to you as our customer, we will offer you a full refund of your purchase or an exchange for any S7 range. We will also collect the defective device from your home so you don’t need to worry about returning it"
There is no "token of appreciation" here at all samsung!!! You are offering me nothing at all and that's just not on I'm afraid.
O2 are the same but worse, they have collected my not told me to contact them at least 24 hours after the call to talk an upgrade or cancellation I contacted them today nearly 48 hours after that call and basically got told they would refuse to do anything for 3-5 days until they actually had received and checked the device. they also offered no help with lost money for things like screen protectors and other accessories so needless to say I will never be using them again. they didn't even offer a token gesture discount on an alternative device.
so I've said they can go fornicate a rusty pole and and took up the 20% monthly discount my works offers on EE to get the Pixel XL.
Similarly composed letter in Estonia too.
Returned everything and disappointed. Will think not twice, but five times before buying Samsung products in future.
Makes me wonder what are they smoking to believe that europeans are happy to be treated worse than rest of the world.
I was just pushed a message which directed me to call Samsung on the 0330 number. Called them. Lines are closed even though it says open to 6pm saturday. Used the number ending in 1000, guy on the end said to power down phone and I will get a call back from them. I asked if they had thought this through. How do i get a call back without a phone to use. I need the money to buy a phone but cant get the refund until a long time after I have sent this one back.
This is going from bad to worse isn't it.
I was disappointed with Samsung about the faulty Note 7s, but I was not angry with them since they made some design or manufacturing mistakes which to an extent you could argue were out of their control. Or at the very least, which were not forseen.
But as they continue to mismanage this situation in this cack-handed way, I am most certainly starting to get angry. As stated in the thread earlier, people need time to plan for swapping their phones out. These are not toys, for which there is mild or no inconvenience if you are without it for a few days. These are serious pieces of equipment people rely upon in their daily lives.
I won't be returning mine any time soon.
I'm angry that they offered the s7e at full price. Not even a discount for our troubles. To add insult you can get the s7e cheaper elsewhere too
Most odd. In this European country the Note 7 cost 880.00€. The S7 edge cost 100.00€ LESS so hardly a fair exchange! Obvious thing to do is accept the cash back offer. Like you guys and gals I am also out of pocket big time on original Samsung accessories. Samsung in Europe have not made this an acceptable return have they. End of the day we, the consumer, have lost out on this as well as Samsung Korea.
One thing for sure, don't let the politics of the situation get in the way. Return your Note 7. Left a bitter taste in my mouth.
Ryland
its all in stages, just wait.
it was recall with refund or exchange only.
then exchange + $50 voucher
then exchange + 250 visa credit card,
and now exchange + $350 visa card, getting really hard to say no...
Mentioned the same in the other thread about UK recall.
I've tweeted them asking why it's different to the US recall.
I would be very interested to know how any complaints from guys here develop. People need to phone them and complain, get angry, threaten them by informing them you will go to every tech website and report this pathetic customer service attitude to them.
I am sick of Samsung treating the UK and Europe like we are not as important as the rest of the world. We pay more for the phone, we get less special offers, we haven't got Samsung Pay here yet, we didn't get the Note 5 and now we don't get any compensation. Just a lame email that makes it seems they are doing us a huge favour by giving us a refund! The least they could do is give us a hefty discount on the S7 Edge.
It makes me sick in the stomach.
.
so annoying .. carphone whorehouse want me to take my N7 back and have the £99 deposit back.
as far as there concerned the extra I've already been charged on my tariff doe not come into it.
so they want me to downgrade to a S7.. i had a N5 before all this which i now wish i had kept !
if i had wanted a S7 i would of bought one !!
so now its all lose lose ..
See how easy it is to complain about compensation
Guys,
I have put a post up here on XDA urging UK consumers to complain about not receiving any compensation in line with other countries.
Please take a look and please at least give it a go at following the instructions. It's really quick and simple. It may or may not get anywhere but it's certainly worth trying.

yep how this recall has been handled in the UK is a massive joke, I've already told O2 where they can go since they refuse to release my account or let me upgrade for best part of a week, basically wanting to leave me without a phone. I realise the problem has likely happened the same with all suppliers in the UK, but I'm pissed off so I'm leaving them and going else where.
for those at carphone warehouse it should be possible to get a full refund and your contract dropped to a monthly sim only contract, they can't force you to take a alternative, it is the same reason O2 had to give the option of a full refund and potential cancellation because the phone has to be returned meaning you are not getting any goods so need a full refund for those goods, the problem with the likes of carphone warehouse is the contracts include the device charge in the service charge so you lose your monthly payments that should go towards the phone, I was slightly better off on O2 as the phones are a separate credit agreement so O2 is forced to cancel it and refund me all payments I've made on it, the problem being they are going to drag it out that long I will have made another payment they will have to refund me instead of just clearing the phone off now as it has been picked up by the courier for return.

I am one of the lucky ones I suppose. I got mine from ee one of the first to have pre ordered, the when the 1st exchange kicked in was given 50£ for my troubles and 30 quid for accessories refund. I also got free 8gb data as ee expected a delay in delivery. Second time round I was offered a choice of upgrade for the exact same deal I had on a note 7 to get a iPhone 7 plus (grr iPhone yes I know), but it's the wife who chose it as she fancied something new. Having upgraded before the handset was exchanged left ee in a dilemma as they could not then give me a loan phone because the iPhone 7 plus won't be available until end of October possibly. They then asked me to send the note 7 handset back in for the recall and wait for my iPhone 7 plus. I advised them I had no other handset. They tried all the usual please use a previous handset and I stuck to my guns. They then offered me 50 quid to purchase a new handset as a I await for the iPhone 7 and laughed back at the chap that how could I buy a handset for 50 quid. After negotiating and arguing was given 150 quid credit for a handset as a I await my iPhone 7,so definitely benefitted from this nightmare.

I think this has been an unprecedented issue for all involved especially second party networks like ee. Initially when the second recall was kicking in ee didn't know what to do, which is why I ended up getting nearly 250 quid from this whole mess so can't complain.

both recalls O2 has refused to part with a penny or even offer help in a reasonable time frame, hell just to get through to the line they said I had to phone immediately I spent over an hour on hold, honestly their customer service throughout has been terrible and a total waste of space, achieving nothing other than alienating their customers.
