I don't think it has something to do with Encrypted. Did you format the Data beforehand? I flashed the original rom on an encrypted phone and booted good just that it takes a while to boot. Few secs you'll just see the Android Mascot and then the boot animation.

Try flashing this in recovery.

OK, hope, this Rom will make OP 5 a real Music player. SD 835 has a lot of improvements for this... :cyclops:
---------- Post added at 05:30 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:28 AM ----------
Also, what about custom kernels? As I understood, your Rom has your own Kernel?

This rom will always include a custom TripNDroid kernel that matches this rom.
You are obviously free to flash and try a custom kernel but there will be no support for using them. :good:

Please do read the instructions in my twrp thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2764408) especially step 7. Moto E also had the same problem with touch in TWRP so I have asked the Moto E dev for the solution. Mostly it will get fixed in the next version, very soon.

That's not a stock based rom. It is compiled from source. Even if we had cm11, we wouldn't be able to compile that rom as Achotjan hasn't made the source code open source (might cause legal problems with Sony). And it is a kk rom so no point in trying to port it using winrar.

Do you mean to suggest that there is no need for unlocking the bootloader and install cwm for our phones to flash this kernel. I mean there is no instructions for the same in the update.

wow man u assume too much
1)You have to unlock bootloader if you want to use this kernel or any other custom rom
2)Dont install cwm
3)extract boot img from the zip of this kernel and flash it via flashtool

I posted that question because in this thread the steps should be clear to the user of this kernel on how to flash this kernel.
The instructions should start right with unlocking the bootloader to finally getting this kernel onto our devices.
I hope, you do not take my comment otherwise but until we know all the steps in one place, it is hard for users like me to run this kernel on my phone.

Yes, I have added Intelliplug and a new governor, enabled last_kmsg. Still need to work more on it. Got a lot of study load at the moment so it might get a bit delayed.
Of course I don't mind if another dev works on my sources.

F.A.Q. - Read this before complaining!
1. This kernel works on Y or X rom?
A: It is compatible with almost all Kitkat ROMs and i have persnally tested it on CM11 & Carbon ROM only and users on other ROM are on their own risk and complaining about the Kernel will not be tolerated..!
2. OMG Battery Sucks...!
A: As you can imagine I don't build kernels to decrease battery life. All the battery life problems come from your apps, either Facebook, or Maps, or some Location Service being enabled etc etc. Check your damn wakelocks and fix them, the kernel is not responsible for them.
3. How do I flash this?
A: Reading the OP, theres a reason why I added instructions on it.
4. Which App is the best for Controlling the Kernel?
A: Their are many apps in the Play Store but i personally recommend TricksterMOD or FauxClock rest its on you whether which you find most comfortable.
5. Getting Random reboots..! Any Help
A: I don't answer to problems without a log. The log file is in /proc/last_kmsg. Paste it on pastie.org and link it on your post. Logcats are useless for Kernel purposes, don't bother posting them.
6. OP is arrogant, I'm gonna call the Internet Police?
A: Deal with it.
7. Which Settings are best for XYZ ROM and XYZ thing..!
A: THe Default settings of the Kernel are the best and Balanced one but you can ask other users on the thread or can discuss which settings are the best..!
8. XYZ Feature doen't work in this Kernel on XYZ ROM..! You suckass, fix it..!
A: I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for a fix, I can tell you I don't have the solution. If you leave now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I ignore you.
9. My Kernel settings are not sticking and i have tried almost all the fu**in apps and none works..!
A: Have you installed busybox ? No? Then kindly install it and not every busybox installation is 100% complete so kindly keep that in mind before posting and beating a dead horse in the thread...!

4.10 toolchain is not the latest..GCC 4.10 was discontinued..and was re-initialized as GCC 5.0..
you're misleading..lol
proof: you can scan all branches if there was a 4.10 that went to production/development..
I am building my own toolchains for my projects and thats where my GCC builds come from with patches from Google's repo..
that's a bad habit of "copy pasting" ..moreover looking at your git..you copied my changes on thermal without even crediting me for adapting it to Armani..its not the original Thermal from Franco anymore as i made the adaptation..anyways..congrats..

gpl | abyss kernel 7.10 | cm-14.x

Hi bacon people!
This is my modified kernel with some kernel optimizations and some compiler optimizations.
The goal of abyss is to achieve improved performance/battery without the cost of stability.
I will not be overhauling this project with changes that are not logical to add.
This kernel should work on the latest 7.x.x roms like CyanogenMod and any other AOSP based rom.
It will not work with "CAF" based roms (any roms using Sultanxda trees).
It will not work with Omni based roms either (any roms using Omni trees).
It will not work with AOSParadox based roms too.
How does one achieve this?
- build kernel with an optimized toolchain
- use compiler optimization flags (experimental)
- remove redundant code
- improve existing code with more efficient code
- reduce/increase speed of timers (depends on what type of function)
- etc. (most are not easy to explain)
Is there actually a performance improvement?
With all the changes added up, there should be. Whether or not one notices the difference is another thing.
Personally, I do feel the performance difference on my Moto G 2013; it is easier to notice the difference with lower level specs..
For those interested in how the kernel optimizations will benefit/work, please look at my github source and read the commit messages.
For those interested in how the compiler optimizations/hacks will benefit/work, please look at this article.

I do not mind if there's some non-development/off-topic discussion here, just no discussion about other works that is nowhere near related to mine.
Also, please refrain from comparing works here; it really kills the spirit of development. Go do that in some other thread.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Is this a custom kernel?
I was asked this question once, and it posed as a real good question. I do not consider abyss to be a "custom kernel" per se, but more so as a modified kernel. The patches and features that go into this kernel do not make it customizable. What they do is improve what has already been implemented. It is like swapping a car's engine for a better one rather than just adding LED flooring lights and fancy car mats.
Can you add [this] and [that] feature?
Something I pride myself with this kernel is that it does not have a bunch of random, useless features or patches mashed into it. Everything put into this kernel is thought out well and tested. I see a lot of works being made popular because it has [this] and [that] feature when really, it's nothing revolutionary. As a matter of fact, most things added to any kernel will not make it 5x better than any other kernel. Most of the time, simple is better; and in this case it definitely is!
Main Patches and Features:
- updated security patches (dirty cow vulnerability resolved)
- updated sched drivers
- KCAL Control Driver
- backported random from Linux 3.16+
- kexec hardboot patch for Multirom
- Abyss Optimizations (compiler)
- disabled debugging for more performance throughout
- lots of patches for better performance here and there... too many to list
- simplified thermal driver (more aggressive while maintaining performance)
- USB Force Fast Charge
- Android N ready!
How to install:
Place zip on to your internal storage
Place current ROM zip on to your storage
Boot into TWRP recovery
(If you're coming from a different kernel, dirty flash current ROM)
Flash kernel zip
Reboot

@YoshiShaPow I think you should just call it "Egg kernel" given that you're a Yoshi
Isn't it the same kernel which you have implemented in your latest CAF build?
Which toolchain are you using? UBERTC 5.2.1?
@YoshiShaPow
HEY!
Glad you decided to come on back! Just FYI, I was able to get CAF working with AnyKernel. I will make sure my source is up to date so you can use if you want. Regardless glad you decided to take a stab at kernel building again and can't wait to see what you cook up!

Wow. Glad to see that you work on kernel too.. Hope it rocks the same way as your ROMs do. Thanks a lot dev @Riad khan. Keep it up.
BTW, it would be great if you could make a nougat version too as there are number of solid nougat ROMs available to which this kernel can coupled with (only in case if you have enough of free time).

Development [Proof of Concept][5.15] Mainline for Pixel 6/Pro

Hello everyone,
To keep it short: Some of you may have noticed. Google uploaded a mainline 5.15 branch for the Pixel 6 Pro.
Here´s a build for those that dare trying or simply want to run a mainline kernel on their phone.
I don´t plan to update this much outside of the scope that googles does and what I already did. It´s more of a proof of concept and I think there are at least some that would be eager to try.
I was able to daily drive it two days without a single crash, due to disablng WiFi Calling and by not using my USB C buds, but rather bluetooth buds.
However now I´m back to 5.10 as it´s really just a piece of concept. Essentially mainline GKI kernel with downstream android driver changes. Some pieces that are in the 5.10 kernel that haven´t been brought to 5.15 yet, are missing.
Feel free to report bugs and I will add them to the list.
However if you have issues you have been warned
Features:
Main Features:
- Based on latest kernel sources from Google for 5.15
Bugs:
- powerhal broken due to several scheduler optimizations still missing , removed faulty hints when running powerhint mainline module
- vibration, fixed when running powerhint_mainline module
- USB-C devices crash the device upon connection usb c hub now works, connect mouse to usb c hub works too
- USB-C headphones do not output sound
- USB-C to 3.5mm adapter is not working
- having wifi calling/vowifi enabled makes a network driver crash the phone
- fast charging is not working correctly on my end
- probably many more I didn´t notice
DOWNLOAD:
Download is always located in this folder:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=329868
Changelog:
Android 12
Initial Release
Requirements
- unlocked Bootloader
- USB-Debugging in developer options enabled
- latest adb and fastboot binaries
- working adb and fastboot environment
- a device rooted with magisk
- vbmeta flashed with disabling verification and verity flags (check process how to root the phone here)
How to flash the Kernel:
1. Download the images provided in the downloads section to your PC.
2. Download the powerhint magisk module for mainline found in downloads section and flash it via Magisk Manager like any other magisk module.
3. Flash ALL the provided images using fastboot/bootloader and fastbootd (different to the regular Kirisakura Kernel)
4. Don´t forget to patch the boot.img with Magisk Manager prior to flashing it.
3. Magisk-patched boot.img, dtbo.img and vendor_boot.img need to be flashed in fastboot, while vendor_dlkm needs to be flashed via fastbootd
First boot to bootloader, either via the option in Magisk Manager or via adb command:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Now in fastboot flash boot.img and dtbo.img
Commands:
Code:
fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img
fastboot flash boot yourmagiskpatchedboot.img
fastboot flash vendor_boot vendor_boot.img
How to boot to fastbootd
Code:
fastboot reboot fastboot
Once in fastbootd:
Code:
fastboot flash vendor_dlkm vendor_dlkm.img
4. Reboot either via buttons
or by typing
Code:
fastboot reboot

probably both for the worse as several optimizations from google have not yet found their way to 5.15 from 5.10.
Does this mean it would be possible to run a linux operating system on the pixel 6 pro? For example, postmarketos, fedora or manjaro? Just like the pinephone?

So its not really mainline, its google downstream, just not as big of a delta as usual. What I'd *really* love to see, is this hardware running on a real mainline straight from kernel.org.

If I find time, I might push out an updated build some time in the future.
but whether it´s based on 5.15, 5.17 or even 5.18 no clue.
I personally don´t think this is daily driver ready in any way, only a proof of concept and uninteresting for most.
Outta curiosity how did you figure out the boot.img config/offsets, or what are they I guess. Everytime I try to parse it through abootimg it crashes on me or complains about a missing page size.
I can boot this image just fine but I haven't been able to make my own yet
