Vibe k5 plus OTA update failed - Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus Questions & Answers

hey guys,i am using vibe k5 plus stock unrooted with build no A6020a46_S051_160805_ROW,i got update to A6020a46_S056_161019_16G_ROW_WCCE8A8E90.
when i update,it says carrier switch error,
i tried few steps like flashing INdia.ota.zip and also system.zip but same error is coming,i even tried with lenovo smart assistant, same error coming, can anyone help?
did anyone flash from S051 to S056 successfully?
Note:
In carrier configure,it shows only default{other countries dont show up}

Normally, you have to flash the <country>.ota.zip of your current ROM :
- either you reflash the S051 (with QFIL) and just after you flash via recovery the zip located in your internal memory in "/0/carrier/"
- or you flash the S056 (with QFIL) and you flash the same zip via recovery. The zip can also be in the folders of the ROM

flash mode is terminating after 1 minute / no possibility to flash ftf-roms

Hi there,
using the flashtool I am able to flash new recoveries but not the complete roms because of a timing bug:
connecting the XM via cable / vol down the device is recognized as flash mode.
Exactly after one minute the flash mode is terminating by itself - and this is to short to flash a new rom (neither the preparation of the files has been finished).
=> anybody a solution for my issue?
=> has someone a dl link for the 4.3 stock rom (15.4.A.1.9-CE) as a zip? Zip files could be used, but no ftf flash files
If I wait for the connection of the XM until flashtool says "connect in flash mode" then an "ERROR flashing - aborted" occurs. Why?
The BL was unlocked directly before the error-flashing...
Thanks for your responses.
Error from wrong flashtool
My flashtool version was 0.9.19.8 and during the blu-process the level meter stucks.
With "new" (or old) version 09.18.1 - everything worked well.

Unable to boot into TWRP Recovery or flash the same on to my Lenovo P1 having S285ROW

I read the rooting article of Lenovo P1 having S272ROW. I installed Stock ROM by flashing version S285_160525_ROW on my Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo. While trying to boot into TWRP with the given image file at S272 article, my handset doesnt boots giving Too many links and stuck up at lenovo logo. Further, when I tried to flash the given image file - it sends but at the time of writing it gives the error as Invalid signature or data. Please help with respect to TWRP image file to run on S285 Stock Rom version.

LeTV x800 CN - no img will boot up

Hi everyone,
I try to upgrade my stock img (EUI 5.5.013S) on LeTV x800 CN to newer version.
I flashed TWRP 3.2.3 recovery img and it runs fine - I am able to boot to recovery and flash img I choose.
I tried flashing img from this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/le.../cm-14-1-android-7-1-unofficial-letv-t3530173 (version X800_CN_RR585CLEAN_11NOV17-02)
However after flashing I am stucked on fastboot (penguin sign).
I tried it couple times but without any luck.
So I restored backup copy of my stock img and decided to try offcial upgrade to 5.9.028S.
I downloaded the *.zip file (1523510744_X1_X800-CN-FN-BEXCNFN5902803208S-5.9.028S.zip) and opened it in file manager.
Phone rebooted into recovery (which now is TWRP) and TWRP finished flashing new img.
However after flashing I am stucked on fastboot (penguin sign) again.
I feel like I am doing something wrong - can somebody give me some advice ?
Also I do not have original stock recovery img as I did overwrite it with TWRP - could someone please share it with me?
It seems that we cannot jump directly from 13S Stock ROM (final Lollipop) to 28S Stock ROM (Marshmallow) or RR/ABM30 (Nougat). You may have to install firstly some other MM stock ROM, for example - 18S, 20S or 26S...
So, after full wipe (without Internal Storage!) in TWRP: (1) install e.g. 26S Stock ROM, (2) make full wipe (without Internal Storage!), (3) install RR/ABM30 ROM (or 28S), Open GApps and (if you want) Magisk/SuperSU, and (4) firstly Reboot in Recovery (TWRP), after that Reboot in System...
Don't forget to clean Dalvik/Cache after each zip installation! And Install ROM without Sim Card...
Thank you, I'll try that and post how it went.
Alright,
I tried LeGi0NeeR suggestion to first flash lower version of Marshmallow stock ROM and try flashing go-to img - It worked!
More specific info:
1. I used EUI 5.5.020S and updated it by clicking update in File manager.
phone did reboot and went into (before-flashed) TWRP recovery where it finished the installation.
2. phone successfully booted to OS (took couple of minutes due to first time boot and apps optimization)
3. I took EUI 5.5.028S and repeated the process.

Xiaomi Note 8 rom flash problem

My note 8 comes with china rom which I want to change into indian rom. I have downloaded this rom from ci.mi dot com. I wanted to flash my handset (Bootloader Unlocked) with xiaomiflash software. But it seems the software can't detect the rom file and when I extracted the rar file of rom, it was contained with .br file instead of flash file. Previously I downloaded another rom file from the same site. It was same on the xiaomiflash, it can't detect the rom file after refresh and select path either. What can I do? I even tried from phone to flash (downloaded_rom>settings>System Update> Choose update package), but I didn't even find the option 'choose update package. Need help!!

I would like to help. But I don't have China based phone. Mine came with global. I think is the same though.
The ROM file you have contains files with *.br, this tells me it is a 'recovery rom' and needs to be flashed with recovery.
You can flash recovery ROM with twrp. But there is firmware files inside and there is danger to flash wrong firmware files (note 8 vs note 8t) . Do be certain the ROM you are to flash is supported in your hardware first.

if and only if you have redmi note 8 and not 8t then you can flash Indian rom....coz there's no redmi note 8t for India..
download recovery or fastboot rom from here.
if you download recovery rom...just straightaway flash from recovery...
for fastboot rom you gotta extract it twice then flash with miflash...and make sure to select "clean_all" not "clean_all_and_lock"

Hi,
I have the same problem.
Any chance you could share the method of how you managed to connect otg to transfer the ozip file? I also only have access to stock recovery and the fastboot mode.
I have the stock rom in zip file version which i am absolutely certain works because i have used it before but i can't install a custom recovery no matter what i try.
If possible could you also share the ozip file and the odp file?
Thank You!
I just wrote unbrick instruction here:
[GUIDE] [RMX1901] Unbrick & Install Android 13 Custom ROM
The guide is for a Chinese version of the phone. But might give you an idea for the global version. History: I was on the latest official ROM. But I was already unlocked the boot. Then I tried to install a custom ROM and failed. Because TWRP for...

And you could find some information that I found from there.
