Have you found truly wireless earbuds for your P2 you are satisfied with? - Google Pixel 2 Accessories

So the Pixel Buds seem more like Pixel Duds according to the reviews, and I really cannot stand earbuds which don't seal the ear channel. I'm wondering if any of you have founds truly wireless earbuds they are truly satisfied with. I guess likely candidates are
Samsung Gear IconX (2018)
Bose SoundSport Fee
Jabra Elite Sport True
Bragi Dash Pro
Sony WF-1000X
B&O BeoPlay E8
but most revies on amazon/tech sites are hinting that they are just not completely market ready yet.
Really interested in what works best with the Pixel 2. Thanks!

Was actually thinking of buying the apple airpods for pixel 2

I've been enjoying these Treblab XR500 . I spent like $30 to $40 dollars at most for em off Amazon. They sound amazing. Sometimes you have to resync if u turn them on while music is playing. Can't go wrong either way

I bought airpods. It seems they work fine as long you use only with one devices.
But for me switching between 3 devices (Pixel 2, Android Tablet, Windows Laptop) was a nightmare.
I actually came to a point of frustration when I could not get airpods staying connected to my tablet, so I seriously consider returning them.

I love my Bragi Dash Pros, they sound great and have a lot of feature to them. The noise cancelling is excellent and the gestures are really nice once you get use to them.
Unfortunately, they suffer from the Pixel Bluetooth bug like many other BT headsets (Can prompt voice command, but it won't hear you, supposed to be fixed soon).
The biggest issue I have in general is their Bluetooth signal strength, I haven't had issues using them with the Pixel fortunately but on my OP5, just putting my phone in my back pocket would cause audio to cut in and out.
Odd thing is I could set my OP5 down and go over a room and they would be fine, so IDK.
Anyways:
Pros:
Great sound for BT headphones (especially with V4A!!)
lots of features (Alexa integration just got added too)
Great battery life (definitely get around 5 hours of use out them at work, pop them in the case when I go to lunch which holds a lot of charge, top back up quick!)
Cons:
No AptX
Expensive compared to some of the competition
BT connection could be better with certain devices

Got a Sennheiser CX BT7.00 bundled with the Google Pixel 2 as a pre-order offer. Have been using it for the past couple of days and must say it is making complete use of aptX.

I bought the MEIZU EP52 from here https://www.geekbuying.com/item/MEIZU-EP52-Bluetooth-Headphones-with-Mic-385260.html. They're $37. and sound good, especially for the price. I've paired them with several devices without problems. Also, one very important point is that the headphones are APT-X digital audio compatible. If you don't get APT-X on your headphones, when you watch a video the lip sync will most likely be off. There are reviews available on youtube.

Not necessarily, my Dash Pros don't have APTX and voice/lips are always in sync.

Those Dach Pros are awesome looking earbuds! I just realized that this thread was meant specifically for "truly" wireless earbuds. Anyway I was curious and checked the specs for the Dach Pros, apparently they suppport the AAC codec which has low latency. My Pixel 2 uses the AAC codec in my BMW and it sounds pretty good.

Pixel/Pixel XL no headphones ?

While searching the web re: info on the Pixel XL, I came across a YouTube unboxing Vid of a Pixel handset showing what in contains and more to the point what its dosnt contain ie "HEADPHONES". With the cost of these hands sets, one would have thought headphones would have been standard....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mNK-hDEFZw
Well, I saw the same video with headphones but they are not listed as an accessory on Googles webpage. Guess we will have to wait until the 20th to find out for sure.
I also saw video and pictures of an unboxing that showed earbuds in the box

Good. I just throw them in the trash anyway.
I have good headphones already, I don't need the freebie junk.

The last time I used headphones included with a phone was never. The only reason I'd care is if there were no 3.5 mm headphone jack, then I'd want a pair of headphones or an adapter until I could get a better pair to use.

It's the opposite, they're usually not the standard everywhere except some places (AU, FR...) where they are standard by law.

Because it is not a Nexus, and they rebranded to Pixel for competing with iPhones. Is it a huge ask? I use headphones with mics for meetings and do not have a second pair :crying:

NO.
Earphones are under the power adapter ONLY for AU (and in future, A FEW other countries if it will be sold in France etc).

Had the same thought! I use them as toss around headphones. Not like I don't have others but dang I wanted to see how Google thought headphones should look... invisible I guess.
On the other hand my Note 7 came with a pretty decent set, changeable silicon thingys and all! Hopefully they don't melt down or explode tho...
Ok some EU countries insist phones must be sold with hands free option. It is aim to reduce accidents ... Don't know if it is effective.
It is in a similar way that some EU countries you not allowed to sell a bicycle without a bell and lights
In AU we get headphones. They are really nice too, am very happy with them. The ones that came with the Nexus 6P were similar to the Apple ones, and don't sit in my ear properly.
The "in-ear" ones that came with the Pixel have decent bass, and great response.
We didn't get headphones here in Canada either which I thought was ridiculous for the price. Other people say they don't use them but I would have as a cheap pair when k needed them.
Years ago I had a Samsung Galaxy Nexus , I believe that came with headphones . My guess on that would be it was due to the fact it was Samsung putting the headphones in the box , I could be wrong . The only headphones I ever really liked where the ones that came with my HTC M8 . I know the HTC wasn't a nexus device just demonstrating out of all the phones I have owned in the past only one pair I really cared for is all .
I would like to know who made the in ear monitors which are being sold here in India. No branding, nothing, just a white coloured IEM, haven't even used it, so can't speak for the sound quality.

Headphones for Pixel 2 XL (Type C and Bluetooth)

Hey fellows,
using a Galaxy s7 edge since 1.5 years with a 3.5mm Headphonejack, I have to rethink, how to hear music on my Pixel 2 XL.
Tbh i dont like to use 3.5mm headphons with the adapter because of comfort and sound quality.
Thats why I would like to have a nice wired (Type C) or / and good bluetooth in-ear headphones.
Im looking for cheap but good sounding earphones. Any hints?
Actually i guess im going to get Meizu EP51 as bluetooth earphones for running and gym. And now im searching for great wired type c phones.
Let me know, which one you'll get.
Regards!
for Bluetooth go with a good aptx or aptx-hd headphones/earphones

I'm in the same market, but am waiting to see what happens in the Google Assistant space. Googles website lists a few of the newer premium models that will support Google Assistant, but only some are in stock.
Libratone Q Adapt USB-C
Libratone Q Adapt BT (over ear)
Other models from AiAiAi and Master and Dymanic are coming soon, but most of them are over ear. There's a full list here.
I have the Rowkin's for my in ear bluetooth currently. Can't get much smaller than that.
Lastly, since you asked about in ear USB-C, you can try these out from Zorloo. I had a pair of their Micro-USB Ze:ro's and loved them.

Is there any options for bluetooth 5.0 headphones? Is there any benefit to having BT5.0? The range on my current BT headphones is very weak especially when in my workout carrying case.
I have the Plantronics Backbeat Fit, and I love them. They sound really good (not premium, high-end I don't think), they don't move around when I'm working out, and they are super comfortable. They have a new gen out too. I think I paid $65-70 for them open box?

Bluetooth 5 has a range 120 to 140 feet, as apposed to 33 feet with most 4.1 bluetooth devices. But you will need a bluetooth device that matches the bluetooth accessory to get the distance. There are also other enhancements such as multiple devices can be used at the same time. I read an articel on this a few weeks ago. I hope my memory has given you some big enhancements with bluetooth 5.

Bose sound sport wireless for the win. They are awesome sound quality. 150 bucks. In my opinion the new truly wireless 250 dollar ones aren't worth it.
I bought these when I was waiting on my Essential to come, and they actually worked really well. Wasn't sure about the whole noise cancelling thing, but since they don't need to be charged separately (the phone powers the noise cancelling), I figured I would give them a shot. Really liked them, but ended up returning the Essential in favor of the 2 XL, so now I'm just hoping they're compatible, but I'm hoping that won't be an issue...they're not the most comfortable, since they have the large rubber things so they stay in place for active folks (I'm not one of them), but I got used to them. And the noise cancelling and ambient noise feature are actually pretty useful. But they've been sitting dormant since I returned the Essential and came back to good old Shamu (If only I could find a reverse 3.5mm -> USB-C adapter hahah). The fact that I got them for like $80 (down from $200 which is just ridiculous) made it a pretty good deal in my mind. The 17th can't come soon enough!
PS I wanted earbuds and didn't want wireless, or anything that needed to be charged, but the options seem to be extremely limited at this point

Yep, I love mine. They sound REALLY good for just being little earbuds. I've had very nice over-ear headphones, currently have a pair of AiAiAi's, and the fit beats are pretty good! Jump rope is the only thing I've found that makes them budge. Floor workouts, everything else they don't move.

Another agreed, they are excellent for my HIIT cardio workouts and reasonable price!
I love my PowerBeats 2. I previously tested a bunch of different Bluetooth headphones for the gym and these are the only ones that stay in my ears consistently and have excellent sound. Battery life is around 8 hours and the Bluetooth connection distance is quite good. I can put my phone on a ledge and work my way through a ~100ft area for the weights and never lose signal.
If I decide to go with the Pixel 2 XL (still debating) I'll be getting the PowerBeats 3 for the gym and leave my PowerBeats 2 at my office desk. One area of contention with the loss of the headphone jack is that I work from home full time and have various clients calling me multiple times a day. So I usually have a set of wired headphones sitting on my desk that I can quickly plug in before answering the phone. With the 2 XL I won't have that option so I'll resort to the PowerBeats 2 to always be ready to quickly turn on and pair.
For those wondering, the PowerBeats 3 are essentially the same as the previous generation but with an even greater Bluetooth signal range and longer battery life.
I have been using the Samsung Gear Circle for years. They sounds great, stay in my ear while at the gym and the battery seems to last forever.

Cheap and cheerful, but they work well. It has quite possibly the "best" Chinese accented voice guide for pairing in the world.

Bose Quietcomfort 35 works great with my Pixel 2.
With the support of high def bluetooth codec from Oreo, I would go for something that has APT-X support at least. LDAC would be even better but the choices are limited for now.
I use my good old SBH-80 (APT-X), and MDR-1000X (LDAC).
For high quality, you might consider Astell & Kern XB10 aptX HD bluetooth converter for wired headphones. Despite it being bluetooth, sounds better with Pixel 2 than any wired phone connection I have ever had.

After seeing all the praise on the web, I bought QC35 II. This is something I'd not suggest, except if you plan to use it ONLY for listening to music, as the bluetooth lag is terrible. Around 0.5 sec lag makes games unplayable, and videos unwatchable. I think it's a shame that Bose couldn't implement aptX LL, especially considering the price of this piece of.... wonder.
Also a QC35 II for sale here, perfectly new, only tested once.
Using the Cowin E7, they fluctuate between $39 on sale and around $70 when not on Amazon. Last a very long time, very comfy good sound. I started using them instead of ear-muffs in the freezing weather
I just bought the i.tech H2 which supports aptx-HD and LDAC, they cost about $105. They sound awesome with my Pixel 2.http://www.itechdynamic.com/list_of_products/prostereoh2/

$200 and I'm risking it
The QC35 II is probably great for airplane duty with 20 hours of battery life and Bose legendary noise cancelling technology. My only reservation would be that it doesn't include a higher bit rate Bluetooth codec. LDAC does make a difference.

Luckily it was from an eBay seller, so I could send it back. Felt like ****, first time in my life had I send back something like that.
In the meantime I tried Sony's newest LDAC headphones in a store, but lag was quite the same. So for me it seems currently there is no viable alternative for wired headsets, at least through Bluetooth.
Get the ear-studio from radsone with aptxhd and a pair of Sennheiser hd25. This combo sounds way way better than any bluetooth headphones out there. It even sounds far better than most consumer head phones with cable connection.

I have tried my new i.tech H2 earbuds in several modes, aptx, aptx-HD, and LDAC. LDAC sounds better to me than aptx-HD by quite a margin, I'm very impressed, the DAC in those headphones is excellent. I just needed to get some good rubber eartip replacements, they make a big difference also.
Lag is another issue. I experimented with the three codecs and came to the conclusion that LDAC and aptx-HD were about the same for that. The lag is still much less than SBC but if you are sensitive to it like I am then it is still noticeable. I did find that after I sideloaded the February security patch the lag seemed less...maybe it's just a headfake, I don't know. These earbuds sound so good that I can live with a little bit of lag, without a headphone jack, the other options are a bit of a hassle.

Sound was pristine with both headphones, I was amazed by the noise cancellation too. But the lag is not a compromise I can live with.
There are more and more quality games on Android I'd love to try, some with amazing sounds. But when the sound comes half second after you jump, shoot, or even just click....... you can imagine. Hard to believe I don't see much more people finding this unacceptable. Or they just still have the jack, I don't know.

I can confirm that my headphones using LDAC or aptx-HD still have a bit of lag. I am quite sensitive to lag while watching TV on my phone. I find it minimal though, maybe with gaming it is more obvious or maybe the headphones make a difference. I'll check another pair of headphones I have with standard aptx and compare the lag to my new ones.
Got myself a pair of JBL E55BTs for 100EUR. Sound is decent and lag is barely noticeable to the point I start doubting it's there at all.
This morning I did a test with two of my new bluetooth headsets, the i.tech M2 and the Meizu EP52. The M2 sounds better and can play aptx, aptx-HD and LDAC. LDAC sounds the best but after testing lag carefully from the same source, aptx has the least amount of lag by quite a margin. Then I tried the EP52, the best codec they support is aptx so I compared them with the M2 in aptx mode. I was surprised and disappointed to discover that the EP52 had practically no lag at all and the M2, which sounds better, still had some lag using aptx. The moral to the story is that aptx seems to have the least lag and that lag time is headphone specific.
For those that aren't aware of it, with the Pixel 2 you can force the codec by going to settings-system-developer options and scroll down to the bluetooth codec area. The M2 defaults to LDAC, I needed to manually switch it to aptx in the menu. The EP52 defaults to aptx since that is the best codec that it supports.
To activate developer options go to settings-system-about phone-then tap on build number multiple times until it grants you developer status. You will then find develper options under settings-system.

Help! What wireless earbuds should I buy for this phone?

I sold my Jaybird Runs last week because they were constantly dropping their pairing connection with the Mate 20 X in spotify. Looking to try something else. Suggestions welcome!
Just a note of caution about the Jabra Active Elite 65t wireless earbuds. They are great earbuds and worked flawlessly with my Xiaomi Mi Max 3, but I have tried two sets of them with two different Huawei Mate 20 x phones and in each case when I try to play music they either make a skipping noise for two or three minutes before they play the music, or else they are silent until I turn bluetooth on and off a couple of times.
I've been using Jaybird X3 and have no issues with connectivity

Hey guys, I've held off for now, but I plan to buy some Galaxy Buds once they're in stock at bestbuy. Will let you know how it turns out

Well that's a bummer, I use the 65t's and I just ordered the international mate 20x. Did you have the jabra app installed? Not really sure if it helps with the connection process or not. Also, were these the chinese variant or the international variant you tried them on?
Yes I have the latest version of the Jabra Sound+ app installed. This latest version no longer requires the Jabra Service app to be installed and running. Both Mate 20 x phones that I have tried the Active 65t with are the L29 global version.

Any updates on the buds with the mate 20 X?
I have the Samsung buds (2019) connected to the Mate 20 X. No issues at all, they work beautifully.
By the way, the buds had 3 firmware upgrades already (in less than 2 weeks of ownership). They're fantastic buds.

It is quite good, you can clearly hear the lowest frequencies but, do not expect the bass boost you would usually get from bigger headphones. If you use the equalizer on the galaxy app, you could make the bass sound considerably more prominent. I would describe the sound of these buds as balanced, very pleasant and accurate. My only other reference are the Sony's WH-1000XM2 which obviously have more bass but, the comparison is really unfair.
During phone (voice) conversations, the sound is really clear and the voice sounds natural and full.

Sorry, they were sold out everywhere! I was not expecting it to take so long. Finally ordered, should arrive on Monday or Tuesday. Will test and let you know. :highfive:
I'm using these ones (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bluetooth-...rds=klearlook&qid=1553705469&s=gateway&sr=8-1) and they're working well. Sound quality and battery life are very good, and they use usb c to charge so no need to take a extra cable to charge them.
Galaxy Buds arrived early! I've been listening to them all day!
Blown away by the sound quality, clarity, and loudness. And they're so small compared to the last generation, the case is so tiny, yet the battery lasts forever. Really impressed.
Anyway regarding the Mate 20 X--The 1st gen Jaybird Run was awful and didn't work with my phone, they would randomly turn off or disconnect when switching media. It was almost unusable, so I decided to get rid of them. The Galaxy Buds have been much better, connects flawlessly and maintains its connection with no issues. Much better experience.
Conclusion. I would highly recommend the Galaxy Buds!

Glad I wasn't the only one that had the Runs and they would just turn off. Made me so mad.
Switched to the Galaxy buds as well. Much better connection and sound clarity. Lacking bass compared to Jaybirds.
Got mine for 105$ shipped from ATT
I'm more upset that I have to have a Samsung app on my phone.
I just got some LG TONE Ultra SE HBS-835S headphones. Around the neck design with AptX(I can't stand audio lag...), JBL sound, great bass, and absolutely no connection issues with BT 5.0

confused? OnePlus bullet wireless 2 or BLAUPUNKT BYW01

Hi, everyone.
Saw the bullet wireless 2 and it sounds impressive on paper but recently I saw a true wireless earbuds Blaupunkt BTW01
I want you guys opinion about these two earbuds, by reviews on Amazon or some other sites, Btw01 take around 2 hrs to full charge and last for 6 hrs which is kind of disappointing compared to one plus, but it has better balance in high and low with punchier lows compared to OnePlus.
So, above are on papers and reviews. What do you guys think, which one should I go for.

I was thinking about the OnePlus bullets but I found something else that is completely awesome. Anker Zolo Liberty true wireless earbuds. 8 hours, and with the charging case 100 hours. They sound amazing. Might consider them also. True-Wireless Headphones, ZOLO Liberty [Upgraded] 8-Hour Playtime (100 Hours with Charging Case), Bluetooth 5 Bluetooth Earbuds with Graphene Driver Technology, IPX5 Sweatproof, Handsfree Stereo Calls https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GKHYVM8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_LgT5CbH2RDHRA

If you're looking for a truly great sounding completely wireless earbud, check out the NuForce Move. They are up for preorder on Massdrop.
https://drop.com/buy/drop-nuforce-move-wireless-in-ear-monitors
They aren't the typical "OMG Moar BASS" sound that has sucked out middle frequency response and uneven and elevated treble. They do have plenty of bass, but don't sacrifice vocal or instrument clarity to get there, as they have a more neutral sound response.
I listen to blues, rock, metal, and electronic music, and I'd recommend these.
Otherwise, you have the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless and RHA TrueConnect which are also well reviewed. I haven't heard the RHA, but the Senns are pretty nice.
if the nuforce are preorders have you heard them before?

I haven't heard them, but ears I trust have done comparisons to IEMs I have heard or owned, so I do have a very good frame of reference. Specifically, the Massdrop Plus earphones and CA Andromeda. I owned the Plus which were very good (and which I lost/had stolen at the San Diego airport) and I can confirm were smooth operators. In this post he compared the Move to the Plus IEMs:
https://superbestaudiofriends.org/i...ce-move-wireless-iem-review.7867/#post-258593
I've preordered mine based on those recommendations because I've been a member at SBAF for a long time, am friends with quite a few of the senior members, and I trust their ears enough to make blind purchases like this.

The Anker Zolo Liberty sound good, charge fast, case is easy to carry. I love them. I got them on an Anker promo for $50, but I think they're easily worth more than that.

Yeah. I've loved them so far. Picked them up for 100 bucks. More than worth it.
Right now one of the best TWS earphones you can get are these pairs:
https://us.creative.com/p/headphones-headsets/creative-outlier-air
They specifically go well with Qualcomm SD845 & SD855 devices because they
are made with Qualcomm's QCC302x series chips which utilize Qualcomm TrueWireless Stereo Plus technology, Qualcomm® Broadcast Audio technology, Qualcomm TrueWireless™ Stereo technology, Qualcomm® aptX™ audio technology, Qualcomm® cVc™ audio technology and Low Latency technology.
They are power efficient and carry 7 to 9 hours of listening with a single charge and these pairs also
support ACC natively which is nice if you ever own an apple product down the road and above all, they
only cost $79 Bucks right now for a limited time, I think.
I'll get mine in a week, I'll let you know. I like the 10 min charge time
Bump: For users looking at buying the OnePlus Bullet 2
The OnePlus Wireless are a pair I own and they may not sound the best but they were really convenient to use. Just remove the magnetic housings from one another and boom you were immediately connected to your previous device. The series 2 are a triple driver situation which should make things sound better and more than likely only improving on the aesthetics/design.
True Wireless Headphones(TWS) have gotten really far and the convenience alone helps break the bridge between wireless and wired usage. The sound of nearly all true wireless headphones in the $99 range are not going to compete well with the bullet 2s but from my own personal use. The first time I heard music through a decent pair of TWS, I just had the largest smile come across my face. It is incredible listening to music with nearly nothing in or around your head/neck area. Even now with over a 100 pair of headphones I find myself looking for my Airpods or Liberty Airs. Just my 2cents

I know, but if you don't mind spending more, go for Mavin Air-X, it's as good as Creative and you get better color choices:

Those look pretty good too...Thanks I'll look into them and go from there. The Creative ones may still win because of the USB C port being everything seems to be moving that direction and it's nice to not have to deal with multiple connectors and cords.
