Brooklyn Event Attendee Preordering Problem - OnePlus 5T Questions & Answers

So the preordering went live. My invite code worked to allow me to order. However when I put in the other discount code from the slip they gave out it said my cart did not qualify. Then I tried again and it said that the code was already used. I placed the order and email customer service. No answer from them yet. Has anyone else who attended the event had this problem?

hTC Express/Chichitec 1800mAh Battery Supplier Warning

Update:
2/16/2011: Issues Resolved
Appears that these issues have been resolved. ChiChi Tech Co./hTC Express has finally responded to my many emails (Google Checkout was most likely the catalyst for the responses I received, as I notified them of the issues,) and ChiChi Tech Co. apologized for the errors that the system generated, which included phantom orders, emails confirming additional charges and orders.
No reasons given for the lack of timely and accurate responses early on, but no matter as I consider these issues resolved.
I have withdrawn my Dispute filed with Google Checkout.
In addition, ChiChi Tech has offered to ship a charger gratis.
I just had a very bad experience, or rather I am in the middle of a very bad experience with hTC Express/Chichitec, the suppliers of the 1800mAh batteries in addition to other accessories.
This company does not >
1) correspond to emails in a timely fashion, or with accurate information, if they even take the time to correspond
2) does not look up information regarding your order
3) replies with generic responses
4) places orders without Authorization
5) charges your account without Authorization
6) Ships orders 2 days later, even if you cancel the order within minutes of placing it
This company is one of the most horrendous companies I have ever dealt with.
I placed an order for (2) 1800mAh batteries, and then canceled the order minutes later because I was going to place the order with Amazon.com as I thought I may have better recourse in case I needed Customer Service to intervene regarding the order or product after receiving it.
I sent numerous emails and placed a call to customer service and left a vmail regarding the cancellation of the order within minutes of placing it.
I also put an item in my cart but did not place the order.
2 days later, I was sent an email that the original order was charged for, and the order was shipped.
I then received another email that a 2nd order (which was never placed) was charged for and also shipped.
I sent emails again regarding >
1) the shipment of a canceled order
2) the charge for and shipment of a 2nd order which was never authorized by me.
I received a response that if 2 orders were shipped, I can refuse 1 order, and that I would be credited for it.
You cannot refuse a USPS 1st class delivery as it is shipped with the general mail.
HTCExpress never looked up the information regarding these supposed orders, and gave me a generic response. They didn't even take the time to research this Issue. Unauthorized charges are a Very important Breech in my book. I sent them another email regarding refusal is not possible and I need them to take the time and look up my account information to tell me specifically what has occurred. Because at this time I have no idea.
I notified Google Checkout to get them involved as I was not getting any help from the Seller.
It appears that hTCExpress is located in China or Taiwan or thereabouts even though they say they ship the batteries from California. They sent the email at 1:30a, and their lack of response and lack of the English language make me believe they are located outside of the USA. If I would have known this, I definitely would have never attempted to place the order from them in the first place.
You never know how reputable a company is until you have an issue. Any company can take your money and ship an item. The way a Company handles and resolves Issues is very important. And so far hTCExpress/Chichitec has failed miserably.
I will see how this is eventually resolved. So much time wasted so far, and I am not even done yet.
if they charged your credit card or debit card just call the card company and tell them you didnt authorize the charge and they will reverse the charges.
At this point, I have no idea what exactly is going on due to non accurate response from the seller.
I received email notification that the 1st order was charged for and shipped. This was the order I canceled within minutes of placing it, that was shipped 2 days after I canceled it. Yet I don't see charges on Google Checkout.
The 2nd unauthorized order was placed, charged and shipped without my Authorization. I also received email confirm of this, and I see this order charge on Google Checkout.
I will have to call my credit card company to see what charges were put through.
hTCExpress is very unresponsive without any accurate information.
Google checkout appears to not have any protection for their customers as PayPal does. No wonder hTC Express is using them. I still have filed a complaint with Google Checkout even though the info page says to file a complaint with the seller. How do you do that when they don't respond??
As you say, I will get my credit card involved to let me know what was charged for and what was not, as the Seller is of no help.
The bad part is that hTC Express has these 25% restock policies etc. But that is why I canceled this order days before it was shipped. Yet they shipped it, or rather USPS was notified of shipment, but it was not shipped yet. That is why all this should not even be an issue. But hTCExpress is most likely located overseas which is one of the reasons for their non handling of this issue.
They can take an order and charge for it, and make unauthorized charges, yet they cannot cancel an order.
yes, you can refuse a first class usps shipment. as long as its not opened. just write return to sender on it. gotta say it sounds like you are a bit to blame on this one. also just because all your seeing is usps was notified does not mean it hasn't been shipped yet, i ship out about 100 packages a day and quite often usps misses scans or has delayed tracking info.

i'm going to have to disagree~... i placed my order on thursday last week, and recieved both them on monday~... i mean fast!!!.. both batteries work like they should, and as expected... were even 60% charged when i put them first in~.... ..so i got them last night.. charged to 100... then pulled off at 755pm.... and went to bed..as im writing this post.... with btooth, and gps running...... it is a work phone, so i use it throughout the day... i'm sitting at 66% left with 12hrs 9 mins in~....
sorry you got a lemon of a deal~..
@ OneStepAhead
"gotta say it sounds like you are a bit to blame on this one."
??
Hmm....
The Only thing I am to be blamed for is placing the order in the 1st place. I canceled the order within minutes of placing it.
Htc express >
- did not respond to my emails in a timely fashion
- responded to my numerous emails generically 3 days later without looking up the info of my original order (order placed 2/10, generic response received 2/13)
- ignored my cancellation emails
- sent me a confirm email stating that the original order was charged for and shipped 2 days later.
- sent me a confirm email that a phantom 2nd order was charged for and shipped
After notifying Google Checkout, htc express (within an hour) finally researched my account history. This was part of their response >
"After search our system, we could confirm your credit card has been charged one time only. You placed order on Feb.10th, but our system sent you a notice on Feb 12th right after the order has been shipped. This is a system error and it would not affect to your original order"
They continued and ask me "to please cancel the dispute with Google Checkout as soon as soon as I can."
- They did not explain why a 2nd order was put through.
- They did not explain why I received an email that a 2nd charge was put thru
- They did not explain why I received an email that the 2nd order was shipped
- They did not explain why my cancellation requests immediately after placing the 1st order were ignored
- They did not explain why it takes an email to Google Checkout to get htc express to get off their arses to do what they should have done in the 1st place.
- htc express is a failure as a Company when it comes to responding to Customer emails regarding cancellations of orders immediately after placing them
- htc express is a failure as a company when it comes to responding to any customer queries in a timely and accurate fashion
- htc express is a failure as a company when they put through orders that were never Authorized
- htc express is a failure as a company when it comes to researching a customer's account history
- htc express is a failure as a company when it comes to explaining important issues that are raised like confirmation emails of unauthorized orders and charges.
And only when Google Checkout is notified, do they than respond, which is what I thought would happen when I contacted Google Checkout.
I have dealt with many Online and Brick & Mortar companies, and hTC Express is at the top of the list as one of the Worst companies I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. Right up there with HP (Hewlett Packard)
I am also in the telecommunications business and deal with customers all the time, and Customer Service is Top Priority.
As I said, a Company is only as good as their Customer Service. Usually a Customer never has to deal with the Customer Service Department of a Company, as usually an order is placed, charged for and shipped. The customer receives the product and usually everything is good to go.
It is when there is an issue, can you tell the true worth of a Company regarding how they handle and respond to the issue.
I had a similar issue with them. I just disputed the transaction through paypal and they fixed the problem pretty quickly.

The only option at checkout for me was Google Checkout.
When I clicked on Paypal, nothing on the screen. I tried it 3x, but the only payment option was GC. Wonder why?
I should have stopped right there
Btw, similar issues with www.fommy.com
I confirm an item description via email and phone conversation. And the item on the web has a picture as per description and verification. BUT low & behold, when I received the item, the P/N is different. What a surprise!
fommy apologizes and asks me to ship item back at my expense for a refund. I do, but have yet to hear a response of receipt of item or credit back to cc after 2 emails.
A link.........yeah, maybe. Don't deal with overseas companies from China/Taiwan, at least when it comes to smart phone accessories.
I know better, but the shipping from the USA threw me off, as it sounds like they are based in the US.
The kicker is I have items shipped from Oversea like the Netherlands, Taiwan and GB without issues. And the Customer Service is Fantastic! But those purchases are for Flashlights (cpf, cpfmp) and such, by smaller companies or individuals who take pride in not only their Work, But their Customer Service regarding any issues that may arise. And their Communications are excellent regarding responses, shipping, etc...........

Samsung Promo?

Has anyone successfully registered for the guaranteed 200 from Samsung at https://samsunggalaxypromotions.com/note4/ ?
No matter how I format the MEID & wifi mac address the site says it's wrong. I finally got frustrated and opted for the mail in method, but that's a pain in the butt.
I had exactly the same experience. Thank you for posting. I was getting myself wound up that my rebate was going to be rejected. Now I'm more confident it's just an error with the rebate site.
I'm going to try tomorrow. Maybe since its still within the pre-order phase?

You get the value of the phone at the store you preordered from.
That info you take to the Samsung site with you and you get 200 minus what you got from store trade in value. In 6 to 8 weeks that is...

I wasn't asking about how the rebate works. I know that part and what I have to upload. Just asking if anyone else is having a problem with the site not accepting the meid & wifi mac address and I'm not alone.

didn't accept mine either. I am going to mail in. I preordered the phone on sprints website but I traded in at my local sprint store. I hope the preorder confrimation email i got from sprint will count as my preorder receipt. not quite sure what they want.
My apologies, read it wrong.
so now that we have established that the meid/wifi mac issue happened to more than just one of us.......what paperwork should i sign, date, print name, circle price on if i preordered on the sprint website? Am i to assume the email confirmation from my order w/ the price needs to be printed and mailed in? all i know is my local sprint store only gave me $79 for my Note II so i had better get this samsung rebate. otherwise i would have just sold my phone on ebay.
Any update on the IMEI error. Did samsung fix it yet? i prefer to submit the rebate online because it is faster to receive the rebate than the mail in.
Getting the same problem here too, hopefully they fix it
I got it too and opted for the mail in, what a pain. Tried every variant. It must be them. BTW here is their #8 on the FAQ for the promotion.
8. Why am I getting the message “IMEI/HEX MEID# invalid?”
Check that you have entered each digit of the IMEI or HEX MEID correctly. Please note,
you may also need to remove the ‘0x’ from the “HEX MEID” at the beginning of the
number before entering. If you continue to receive an invalid IMEI/HEX MEID message
and believe you have a valid offer claim, you can mail in you offer claim with the Official
Offer Claim Form at the bottom of the Terms and Conditions.
I preorder mine on bestbuy.com so how should I do this? Wait to receive new one (because of needed IME info from new phone), than take S2 to bestbuy and trade in? Akso S2 is rooted but program says "any working phone"?
not working here either...going to mail it in and take forever.
register mail?
I plan on waiting a few business days for Samsung to get their website fixed. I think that mailing the rebate in now is a little premature. Plus missing two days in the mail really isn't going to make a big deal overall.
Me too.. i'll wait until next week. Hopefully they fix it. lol
not alone

I spent three hours yesterday trying to upload different ways. Sprint wouldnt help and samsung cust service said they couldn't either. After numerous phone calls.
Has ANYONE been successful in submitting their info on that form?
Still same problem . I tried 5 times till i gave up and send it by mail certified with delivery confirmation lol.
Looks like the site is down for "maintenance"...
maybe that means they FINALLY realized theres a problem?
Who wants to take bets on whether the site works or not after their "maintenance" period?
Is it working now?

Samsung Promotion DENIED

Welp, can't say I'm surprised, but I just got a denied letter with the explanation:
"I am sorry, your purchase date on the receipt submitted does not match the rebate period."
I used the receipt that was given to me during the online order phase with Sprint and it has the date in the upper left hand corner, and the Pre-Order clearly circled.
The funny part is they tell me to read the "Terms and Conditions" as to why I got denied, however if you read the "Terms and Conditions" it clearly states:
"A Participant who chooses to submit his/her receipts online must first
print his/her name on the original register receipt, sign and date the receipt,
and then follow the on-screen prompts to upload a photograph of the original
register receipts showing both the trade-in value and device pre-order,
respectively"
I did exactly all of that and still got denied. Now I get to mail them in my documents, wait another 2-3 weeks, just to get denied again most likely. Should have known this would be a scam.
Wanting to here of any success/denied stories from others.
Thats unfortunate and disheartening. I'll update if I get the same

 You didn't think this would be a cake walk did you. Just curious when did you pre-order was it before October 16th tell them but you guaranteed me up to 200$ well 6-8 weeks for a rebate check is crazy hope things workout for you
The promotion is being handled poorly and I'm sure there will be plenty of casualties as a result. One of my deciding factors to buy the Note was this promotion so best believe I'll raise high hell once it's my turn to bat. Best of luck in a resolution.

That sucks. This is exactly why I went through best buy instead to avoid the possible issues on the back end.

I received the exact same reason why my rebate was not approved. I preordered my note 4 on 10/14/14 online with Sprint and uploaded a picture of order confirmation email, circled my preorder amount, printed my name on in it and signed and dated it. Apparently it wasn't good enough for approval. WTF? My email clearly states that the preorder was on 10/14.
I contacted prizelogic customer support via email last night and haven't heard back. I will probably resubmit everything thru the mail but I was hoping I could get it resolved via email first. I have no faith that it will get miraculously approved after resubmitting thru the mail. All this will do is drag out the process and then I'm sure they will "deny" it because it will end up being after the required submittal date of 11/30.
This sucks. I haven't gotten any notice back yet but I hope mine works out. I pre ordered through Amazon and traded in a phone to Amazon. Let's see...
Can you guys at least fight it? Or they won't change their mind?
Thats crazy
I mailed in all my docs and I just got me approve email yesterday(after I sent an email to CS asking have they received it). I hope you guys can appeal it or something....

Did you turn in your trade in receipt (Maybe I missed that part). If not make sure to mail that in as well if so then just mail everything or try to get through a helpful person on Samsung website
Did you guys submit your trade in receipt with the shipping label? Or did you wait for your trade in to be accepted before submitting?? I'm still waiting for my trade in to be accepted and some kind of receipt before I submit everything...
Who has been successful so far?

Yes, I did include my trade in receipt. I uploaded everything thru their webpage.
I got a response to my email last night that my rebate was approved. Whew. I was sweating it.
I sent the email thru the "customer support" link on the email I received saying I was initially denied. I included my confirmation number in my email. Maybe give that a shot and hopefully they will approve your rebate quicker than sending the docs thru the mail.

Glad to hear they finally approve it I sold my Note 3 on Swappa but good idea for others to know
I have NOT been successful yet, First, I forgot to print and sign my name on the receipts as well as circle the pre-order date and trade-in amount so it was denied for both phones I tried to submit. The problem I have now is I'm trying to re-submit the receipts but I can't use the same email address and when I try my work email I get an error saying I've entered the wrong IMEI or HEX MEID or WIFI MAC address. In the back of my mind, I knew this was going to be a real pain in the rear - like most of us here, I'm always looking to save or recoup a few bucks. Sorry for the rant, I'm just frustrated that now I most likely will have to mail everything in.

Mine was just accepted as well, which sort of surprised me because I had forgotten to sign and print my name on the receipts. I was expecting to have to redo my submission but I'm relieved I don't have to! I guess it depends on the person who's processing your submission.

EE pixel XL extortion. Read before buying from EE

2 days ago I contacted EE to change to their network and get a Pixel XL 128. The credit check went to refer. I have little credit so no great surprise. The lady said she would call me at 9.30 the following morning.
She called as promised and said that I'd passed but they had had difficulty confirming my identity. Not on the electoral register it seems (I've checked and I am but hey ho). I also have my broadband with EE and was a customer with them, at the same address, fo over 10 years until 2 years ago so I'm struggling to accept that they can't identify me. She wanted a ?100 deposit to be refunded after 3 months. No biggie but I'd left my wallet at home so she would call me again at 6.45pm
I got home and sure enough she called. She did a few checks to ensure she was speaking to me again and we were ready to go. All of a sudden though the handset became ?100 more expensive (on top of the extra deposit) and the line rental had gone up by ?5 per month. This is a total of an extra ?320 over 24 months. I checked their website and the deal I agreed was still showing. She couldn't explain the difference so I asked for a manager. He couldn't explain it either but said it was to prevent fraud because fraudsters who intercept delivery won't pay the extra. This is obviously ludicrous, fraudsters won't actually be paying. He said he would get his manager to call me back this morning. No one called.
Fed up I decided to call car phone warehouse who were perfectly happy to do the deal EE originally offered me, actually they could better it and the handset would be from Google, unlocked.
The problem is EE have blocked me from using cfw. I called EE back and they are actually blocking me from using cfw so that if I want to go with EE I have to go through them and pay ?320 more. This is disgusting, extortionate and not entirely legal.
DO NOT attempt to get a phone through EE. Go to cfw straight away. EE's stance as soon as you contact them is to block you from going to CFW and then they hike the price.
Bait and switch is specifically illegal.
I have recordings of the calls I intend make public so people can hear exactly how the conversations with EE and CFW have panned out.
The plot thickens. EE's senior manger finally called me. He firstly told me cfw have no access to EE systems. In the next sentence he revealed that they can see some details. When I pointed out he'd contradicted himself he got very upperty about "being called a liar". A bit rich from a company who are saying they consider me to be a high fraud risk. I pointed this out and he climbed down from his high horse a little.
He is now calling cfw to find out why they told me EE have an internal block on me and will call me back.
I still await a logical explanation as to how charging me extra prevents fraud. Totally unacceptable that they are happy to do a deal but at a higher than advertised price.
EE have now assured me that what went wrong is that the people at cfw tried to create new accoutrements for me on each occasion and ran 4 separate credit checks. They should apparently have spotted the existing, credit passed account and used it. The senior manager I've been dealing with at EE has cleared it all up, given me the account number for the credit check passed account and told me if I ring them again and give them that account number they'll be able to just sort tell deal and finish up.
Time will tell. I'll call cfw again this pm. The manager at EE tells me he'll call me tomorrow and check that it's all sorted. If it is all sorted it will mean that this block was all the doing of cfw but the highly dubious practise of charging extra if a customer has little credit still whiffs a little to my mind.
Been with EE for years. Always offered me great deals and can't fault their customer service when things didn't go as expected on one occasion.
Unfortunately not got anywhere. CFW have said what I was told was nonsense. EE unable to explain how they can do as described.
Someone has also done 4 credit checks and this has destroyed my credit rating. Both parties blaming each other.
I'm going to have to get lawyered up now. No way I'm doing business with either company.
I'm just going to wait until the phone is available to buy from Google again and buy it outright.
The manager from EE says he is going to try to find someone in a local cfw store who knows how to use the system and set me up with an appointment tomorrow. Gotta give this guy his due, he has absolutely taken posession of this and I'm very grateful to him. As an individual he rocks.
Are we all supposed to know what EE and EFW are?
EE is a phone network, and CPW is carphone warehouse (shop) ?
Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
I got a pixel xl 128gig from EE, passed the credit after answering a bunch of security based around my finances. (questions basically what bank do you have, who did you take finance with on a certain date and such) all went through without a hitch and everything went through perfect, even with the 20% monthly reduction on the contract I get through my works rewards scheme.
they did say if you had bad credit you would need to get referred to a third party, the reason for the price increase it's likely due to paying for the credit with someone outside of EE as they will have their own fees. as I said EE explained all of this to me before I even signed up or did the credit check.
so I wouldn't say it is a scam, just you couldn't get the credit with EE so they had to outsource and that had a fee or interest, as I said this was explained to me by the sales person before even performing the credit check.
as for the extra credit checks they were likely performed by the third party finance suppliers that EE uses.

Refuse Delivery vs Return Item

I ordered my white Pixel 2 XL on Nov 14th and recently Google started the holiday promotion when you buy a Pixel 2 you can get a Home Mini and $100 store credit for free. I saw on a couple sites where people that had ordered their phone before the promo were able to call and get the promo deal applied to their order. I emailed Google to ask if I could get the promo and after 3 or 4 days they never answered, so I was going to call them today and ask. Just before I called I got an email saying my phone has shipped. I called anyway and asked if I could get it. They said they could not apply it to my order since it was done before the promo, but they said I could refuse the delivery and then reorder the phone and get the promo. I asked if there was a way to go online and cancel my order now so I could get the process going sooner, and they said no. Well looking at my order, there's a Return Item option and I'm wondering what and how that's intended to work. So if I wait for my phone to get here, say in 3 days, then refuse the delivery and wait another 3 days for the phone to get back to Google, I'm looking at another week before I can order the new phone. Then on top of that, add in the week or so for the new phone to get here. I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to cut down on some of the wait by cancelling the order via the Return Item method. What exactly is Return Item for? Is that for after you actually have the phone in hand? Would using the Return Item cancel the order, allowing me to order the new phone now? I used Google Finance option and there's not enough there to cover two phones while one is in transit back as a return, and I'm guessing I need to wait for the phone to get back to them before they zero out the financing on the original order.

refuse the shipment you'll get your refund sooner

You have to be able to be there for the delivery....because the deliverer will likely just leave it at the address and leave. Which will be likely an accepted delivery.
Not sure if all phones get shipped by the same delivery company, but mine says OnTrac when I check the tracking. On the tracking page there's a "Contact Us Form" link in the paragraph above the tracking info. Clicking that link, the form has a "Reject an upcoming delivery" option. I filled that out, so hopefully it gives them a heads up and ensures the delivery rejection in case I'm not home. After filling out the form, the confirmation email says someone will look over the request and get back with me. Haven't heard back yet, but hope it works in rejecting the delivery.
Just an FYI I was in a similar situation. Received my phone on Cyber Monday. Called Google and they said is have to order a new one to get the promo, so did. New one arrives tomorrow. Sent the old one back the day it arrived and Google is saying it can take up to 14 days to process the return.
Only thing I can suggest is being able to float the price of both phones until the return is processed.
