Will Google HDR+ port work anytime soon? - OnePlus 5T Questions & Answers

Will oneplus release the required resources for camera2 api any time soon?
I'm looking into buying the op5t soon hopefully but need to know if it'll work
Oneplus's decision to implement another "worse" camera is just plain stupid (20 mpx with 1 micron pixel size to """ help""" with low light photography is dumb and useless)

RAW photos on the Mi 6?

Has anyone got RAW file output working yet? Perhaps with a custom ROM if necessary?
I don't own the device, but thinking of buying, and RAW (.dng) photos would be the last push over the edge for me to buy it.
I'm currently using a OnePlus One, with Camera FV-5 app for RAW photos.
Not impressed with the announced price of the OP5, particularly when I can get the very similar specced Mi 6 for over £100 less.
RAW capturing in Android requires Camera2 API. That's not available in the official Global (8.2.2.0) ROM.
Xiaomi.eu rom should have it though, or at least so they write in the second post of their 7.6.8/10 weekly release (can't post links), and it just might be possible to enable it in the global ROM too, provided you have root.

Google camera HDR+ and Honor 7x

Is it possible to Install Google camera with hdr+ on the smartphone?

Click to collapse
HDR+ won't support in 7x
Nope, basically because that feature is only available on snapdragon devices
True, HDR+ is their snapdragons own functionality even many of the phones with snapdragon dont support.
i have seen it only in google phones like nexus, pixel having it on them.. and its not much of a difference than the normal HDR anyway
It improves the quality of photos in custom ROM a lot, so it's a huge deal

Why do we still not have a proper GCam for Snapdragon variants?

It's been months since the S9 was released yet we still don't have a proper GCam port for the S9. Anyone know when we can expect a proper port?
I would gladly pay $100 to whoever that can produce a working port. I really liked cstark27 's port on my LG G5.
I use front facing portrait mode so often (for group photos) on my S7 that I won't be replacing it until I have another device that can do the same functions. Call recording is another requirement.

Camera2 API?

Anyone know what level implementation it has for each of the back cameras?
Hoping it has has Full or Level 3 support, especially for the wide angle (and not Limited or Legacy - like on the Zenfone 5Z).
I am about to receive my Axon 9 Pro in a couple of days. I could check. However, I dont know how, could you provide details? I am likely going to root.

Is there going to be EIS (steadycam) update for 4k 60fps on the G8?

I know that the SD855 is capable of doing EIS for 4k 60fps as I've noticed that other ones with the same chip are starting to come out with updates to enable this feature. I know that all SD855 phones already can do EIS for 4k 30fps but not 60fps (the option greys out or disappears). for example, the zenfone 6 recently had an update to enable this. i'm not sure which other phone can do this right now.
I'm not sure why there isn't more details when it comes to EIS as it is a very very attractive feature, as it almost replaces the need to have a gimbal. i 99% sure the G8 since the G7 also has been using gyro-based EIS meaning the stabilization algorithm is optimized by the data from the gyro. i hope that one day they also add OIS to the ultrawide cam as EIS crops in alot.
thanks,
Hi,
Are you talking about the SteadyCam option presence on LG G8/S/X devices?
As I heard of, for the moment only main lens and FHD 16:9 maximum but it may arrive soon. I'll ask my colleagues next week.
