Taiwan Note 8 pink exclusive compatibility? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions & Answers

I'm in Taiwan this week visiting friends and I'm loving the exclusive pink version of the Note8 sold here. Would the phone work in the US on Verizon? I'm also considering jumping ship to T-mobile and wondering if it will work on that network too.... (what's holding me back is I'm on Verizon's grandfathered unlimited data plan and the coverage under Verizon is supposedly better than T-Mobile...) Any thoughts on if I can get the Taiwan version to work?

Exynos = No on Verizon. Not sure about Tmo but its GSM so it probably would....at least somewhat....

ATT/TMobile/Rogers TP2 on Verizon or Sprint? Any way possible?

I was just looking at an unlocked TP2 on eBay and love the fact that it has the second CMOS camera. Sadly it is for ATT/TMobile and I dont want to jump ship from my Verizon and Sprint accounts. I know its a long shot but because both versions are world phones would it be possible to flash an ATT/TMobile or Rogers to Verizon or Sprint and it work?
The T-Mo TP2 is a GSM phone and won't work on Verizon or Sprint.
But the TP2 should be coming to Sprint and Verizon around the first week of September. Of course that means you'd have to reup your contract.
No, but the Verizon/Sprint/Telus models can work on ATT, Tmo, Rogers since they are cdma and gsm. Unfortunately that's not what you were looking for

The Verizon/Sprint version won't be comming with a second camera.
I know its "wishfull thinking" but.....I was hoping that all the band limitations were software based and all the hardware was inside. Possibly some way to hack it to use on any carrier. Like I said, wishful thinking.
Only the Europe models have the second camera. All the North American models only have the camera on the back.
And the Verizon/Sprint models won't work on AT&T/Tmo unless someone hacks the North American GSM lockout they claim is implemented.

[Q] what about compatability with o2 Lte next year?

get the regular Note, LTE is still a long way. EE will not have the whole uk covered for maybe a year, god knows when O2 will and giffgaff paying for it.
By then u will be looking at the Note III at best or rumors of Note IV

[Q] Which version to buy for T-mobile T-zones Users?

Hi - I have the T-mobile U.S. T-zones grandfathered plan, which phone version can I buy to get 3G speeds on that data plan?
I know Note 2 has several models. Someone told me I could use the AT&T US model if I live in a area that has been refarmed (I live in Orlando, FL).
Someone then told me I should get the Canadian model but I am having a hard time finding a site that sells the Canadian model from Wind/Videotron/Mobilicity.
Thanks

[Q] international vs carrier versions (at&t,sprint...) for pre paid plan in NYC ?

Hi
I'm looking into buying Note 2 but can't wrap my head around which version to buy;
International, at&t, sprint, tmobile, verizon?
1. I'm from the NYC area.
2. I'd prefer to buy the device and use a prepaid plan (instead of being tied to one of the carriers).
3. I want a good Voice and Data service. Good Data service meaning a good 3g service, anything above is a plus but not a necessity for me.
4. Prepaid providers I know of: PagePlus(using verizon), VerginMobile(sprint), StraightTalk(using at&t/tmobile?)
(5. Price: the international version is cheaper ($600 vs $700 ) than buying from the carrier.)
Information, advice and reasoning would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

I have the international version (purchased in Singapore) and find that it doesn't use some of the same 3G bands that t-mobile uses. While I have good 3G/HSPA+ at home, a few blocks away the signal drops to 2G. Now this is Southern California and I don't know if the situation is the same in NYC, but I'd do some research along these lines before making a purchase if I were you.

Will the International Model work fine on AT&T?

I went in to Best Buy and pre-ordered the Note 4 on a 2 year contract. Since it'll most likely be locked down to hell, I'm considering selling it the second I buy it and ordering the international version to buying the TMO version.
Will I have any issues?
I bought the international model from GSM nation with confirmation from them that it would work on att. Nope. It does not have the 700 band and does not get LTE. Sucks. I will be getting the att model this week. My model is SM-N910U. No dice.
Thanks to everyone using different spectrum for LTE, the euro/international models almost never have functional LTE in the States. You should get 21mb HSPA+ which depending on your market may get to 2 to 7mb down on GSM 3G.
i believe this model SM-N910F works with at&t band 17.
Ah man. I guess I should just get the t-mobile version off contract :/
Just cancel your pre-order with BB. That is what I did and then I called TMO and ordered with them.

I'm considering that. Even considering dropping ATT and getting the $50 TMO plan.

I would if their coverage was better where I live. It is just not that good here
Yup, I feel you.
Luckily, T-Mobile is great in my area. Coverage is perfect. However, I travel to the middle of nowhere in PA often. Won't get reception there :/

You're much better off getting the T-Mobile version. It's cheaper @ $750, readily available, and fully compatible. It even automatically adds the at&t apn when you put in the at&t SIM card.
I just ordered the AT&T model after having the international unlocked models of the S1, S2, S3, Note 1 and Note 2. All of them were only able to get HSPA+ for data, but they all worked fine otherwise. For that reason I have the AT&T model coming to experience LTE for the first time.
If I had known the T-Mobile version works on AT&T I would have gotten that since I am a fan of rooting. No dice for AT&T model yet, but I have high hopes someone will crack it soon.
My straight talk signal runs off AT&T....so i can use lte off the t-mobile device with no problems at all??
