White artifacts above nav bar when in full screen only - Google Pixel 2 XL Questions & Answers

Just got my new Pixel 2 XL and immediately upgraded it to 8.1 out of the box. Overall I am very happy with the screen physically (blue shift, even color, grain, etc) but have noticed some “white artifacts” if you will when using certain apps. It flickers and comes and goes with no apparent pattern. I first noticed when using Google Maps to drive home last night. I didn’t think to screenshot it since I played it off as a one time thing. However I was just watching some youtube videos in full screen mode and saw the same white artifacts again right where the black nav bar and display would meet. I only notice it during full screen and can reproduce it in a screenshot so I don’t think it’s a faulty display.
Anyone else notice this since getting the 8.1 update?
I took a screenshot of the youtube video I was watching, look at the right of the display right above where the nav bar would be.
Heres the link to the rough part of the video if anyone wants to try themselves.

Update: I've confirmed this happens no matter which way I rotate my phone in landscape mode, so Im leaning towards 8.1 software issue.

[Q] Samsung GNex Screen Issue Question

So I've had my phone for about a month, and something I've begin to notice is what appears to be an oddly-shaped splotch on the left hand side of the screen when holding it horizontally. This weird splotch only occures when I'm watching a video in the gallary or when the screen is black when a Youtube video is loading. It's really only noticable when my room is dark, and even then it's barely noticable. When a Youtube video is loading and the screen is black for an instance, or then I'm watching an uploaded video from someone on Facebook, and the video doesn't take up the whole screen, AND it is dark in the room I am in, I notice a splotch on the screen which is not very big, and sort of a deformed circle. It's black, a darker black that the screen. Again, I only notice this in the described conditions. It does not appear to be on any other application. It's only noticed in the gallary or when watching a Youtube video. Anyone know what this is? It really isn't bothersome at all, as it's not very noticable, and hardly shows itself. I'm just really curious as to what's causing this.

LCA44B Black Screen Bug on Moto 360

Hello everyone,
I am not sure if the update caused it so here I am checking if anyone got similar issues.
My screen goes black when: Swipe left to App page; Swipe up to check notifications
And I mean goes black because the watch is still on, for example if I swipe up I go to the next notification and the screen turns black, even not seeing if I swipe right which would dismiss notification it actually does, so the watch is functional just with a black screen.
2 strange things.
1 - If I go mess around in the setting page, it hardly turns black, 99% of the time I can change things around.
2 - Using some of the watch faces I can't even bring to watch to life, I can see that it turned the screen on but keeps all black.
Well, does anyone have questions or suggestions?
PS: (I have already talked to Moto Assistance and they told me to proceed with RMA; As I bought from Amazon I can process a refund but wanted to make sure it's not a software bug)
Thanks,
BrunoJ

Graphics slightly messed up

After installing carbon Rom by Mr Amid a few days back, I now find my mate displaying part of the graphics too wide and or replaced with green.
For instance:
- The normally orange progress indicator in firefox is now garbled green/grey and much wider
- Some icons on the home screen were much bigger, unreadable and garbled in the same way as progress indicator
- One icon was moved to another home screen, stayed garbled but during moving was normally visible, and then could not be moved back to the fist home screen, though it could still be moved
- safety gesture area on lock screen is full green where it should be black.
Anyone have had some similar experience?
I have read http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=874274
but this seems totally different
A reboot fixes it but it seems to come back after a while...
Thats strange, it seems to start with an mp4 video looping as part of a website.
There seems to be nothing wrong with the site.
Can my phone be having trouble with mp4s or the way they are served?
The last time i visited it even froze my phone.

Do you have some tips to avoid screen burn on amoled?

Hi, I'm a new amoled user. I've bought a op7t and I'm pretty happy with it.
But I read everywhere about screen burn problems.
I know this is a tech issue with amoled. And this is my first amoled display.
So do you have some tips for me to avoid screen burn? Someone talk about notifications area? Using maps (absurd), time-lapse and fingerprint is that all true?
Thank you in advance
I'll make an effort of sharing my experience with AMOLED screens and what caused the burn in
Persistent screen elements like the status bar icons and navbar at the bottom left permanent ghosting on the screen. The causes I think were the increased screen timeout (30 minutes) and using GPS with the screen on as well as having a navbar that wasn't translucent or changing colors.
Mind you this happened over a period of 3 years and I didn't notice anything unless I really looked for it. I watched videos and the ghosting didn't affect anything. Only on bright backgrounds such as a white screen or gray did it pop up. Not enough to be noticeable or hinder my viewing experience and I am very particular about that.
Tips I've since been using after getting that experience for my new phone (7T 1907)
1) Keeping screen brightness under 50 percent unless absolutely required
2) Quickly switching between various different apps for a couple of seconds when using my phone for a long time
3) Keeping the screen off while using GPS and occasionally turn it on for looking at directions
4) You can turn off status bar icons from inside the settings to prevent them from causing the burn in under the status bar settings
5) Not increasing the screen timeout to anything over 2 minutes
This is what I know and have researched about OLED screens in general. If you have anymore questions I'll be willing to help.
It has been over five months since I got it and replaced my old phone. So far so good

Question Screen issue or software bug?

Hi!
I have received my Red Magic 8 Pro and immediately noticed something. The selfie camera is visible if the background behind it is simple. For example just a simple white or gray background. Depending on movie sometimes it also becomes visible under cartoons like Rick and Morty, however during normal movie I cant see it.
Is this normal for this phone?
Also, the software which handles the pixels in front of the camera sometimes can become bugged and a visible line is displayed. I can reproduce this issue by pulling down the notification bar and holding it at 1 spot.
Does everyone experience these issues ?
That's normal, especially if the screen is on 120Hz, and at low brightness. It's the so-called green tint issue.
