This is a port of Sailfish OS to the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 (aka chiron).
At the moment this is a very early state port.
Current state: Alpha 1
Download:
Sailfish OS Version 2.x (work in progress)
ROM lineage-14.1-20171229_174133-UNOFFICIAL-chiron.zip
Alpha 1: sailfishos-chiron-release-2.1.3.7-guhl180103.zip (current)
Installation:
Be warned. This will wipe all your data and you will get a very, very early user experience!
Remark: The installation of the correct LOS (14.1 for SF 2.x) image is only necessary once. So if you already did this the first time you can skip steps 1,2 and 5.2
1. Boot into fastboot mode and format the data partition using the command:
Code:
fastboot format userdata
2. Boot into your custom Android Recovery (TWRP) and make sure that the sdcard is mounted
3. Upload the LOS release:
Code:
adb push lineage-14.1-20171229_174133-UNOFFICIAL-chiron.zip /sdcard/
4. Upload Sailfish OS:
Code:
adb push sailfishos-chiron-release-2.1.3.7-guhl180103.zip /sdcard/
5. In the Recovery on the device:
5.1. Clear data and cache (factory reset)
5.2. Install the CM release by picking the CM image (this is needed so that the correct version of the binary libraries and firmware files are in place)
5.3. Install Sailfish OS by picking the SFOS image (this will take quite some time)
6. Reboot the device
After the initial boot the language selection and initial setup will show.
You have to skip the WLAN connection because there is no working WLAN or modem atm.
After that it will take a while and then the Jolla tutorial should come up. You can skip the tutorial if you want by clicking the corners of the screen in the following sequence: Top-Left, Top-Right, Bottom-Right, Bottom-Left.
Change-log:
Version 20180103
What works:
Telnet access via USB to the device on IP 192.168.2.15 and port 2323
ssh access for the user nemo after Remote connection is enabled in Developer tools in Settings
GUI
You can play Galaxy Attack if you enable the on screen controls as sensors do not work yet (click on top-right corner)
What does not work:
everything else

Interesting stuff, thanks for keeping the MIX 2 dev scene alive!

Great work, wait for 1 st public build

Hi,
thanks for the encouragement!
Currently I am fighting with the Wifi driver. As soon as I have this up I'll upload the first ROM.
Have fun - Guhl

Cool. I'm really interested in trying this ever since I heard the Turing phone uses it.

cant wait..
good luck

Well, on to the important stuff! Do bluetooth audio, proximity sensor, and VoLTE work!?!?!?
Just kidding. Cool that you're bringing Sailfish to this phone. Best of luck

Hehe!
Well atm still nothing works but hwcomposer (screen output) and touchscreen.
Porting for a device that has a 4.4 kernel (no Sailfish OS port is using such a recent kernel) and not even having the real kernel sources for the device is challenging.
But I wanted a challenging device for my 4th Sailfish OS port so nothing to complain.
I am making progress on the Wifi but i am still not there.

Alpha 1 -> Sailfish OS 2.1.3.7
Hi,
I released Alpha 1 and updated the OP.
See installation instructions and changelog in OP.
I can not press enough that this is Alpha 1. No Wifi, no modem, no sensors, no nothing. Only the Sailfish GUI user experience and you can play Galaxy Attack. Yes Galaxy Attack and that even in HD
The installation process will wipe your user data. So you better know how to backup/restore your stuff.
I would be happy if you give it a try but of course I understand that there is a lot to loose (but well, you get Galaxy Attack).
Have fun - Guhl

What do you mean by that.
Are you referring to Alian Dalvik that is running on Jolla Phones to run Android? Well yes that would be Android 4.4.
But Alien Dalvik won't be running on this Sailfish OS port anyway as it is a licensed closed source product that must not be installed on Sailfish OS ports.
Well whatever. I personally do not care for any kind of Android Version or Android anymore. Otherwise I would not use my time to port Sailfish OS to other phones.
Have fun - Guhl

[ROM][SGH-I847] AOKP-MR1 4.2.2 apache

DO NOT flash to the Galaxy W or Galaxy S+. This will not work on either device, and only on the SGH-I847 Rugby Smart
So, the next iteration in the AOKP development is finally ready for release:
I'm liking this ROM so far, it feels pretty fast. Using a kernel based on arco's 3.4 means I can keep it up to date with his work.
So far, this is stable, but not without issues:
- USB tethering feature is broken (kernel needs tweaking
- Camera is still broken (Kernel limitation)
- Video decoding (Media libs are messed up, breaks Youtube)
Tested and working:
- 3G data
- Mass Storage
- adb connection
- User switching ( switch is on landscape lockscreen, I'm looking at fixing this)
UPDATE: 9/5/13
-WiFi works (odd programming in 3.4)
- No more "stuck-in-speakerphone" (was missing a file)
UPDATE: 9/14/13
- WiFi tethering decided it wanted to work
- Bluetooth works great
I'm sure I'm missing stuff
Thanks to:
KemoNine - Getting me in to development in the first place
utkanos - the helpful hints along the way
arco68 - supplying a solid base kernel for me to work from
Team Codefire for hosting my projects and builds
Grumpyspud for pointing out the video bug
The rest of the users and supporters for the various things that helped
To Install, you must meet these criteria:
- Have a Samsung Rugby Smart
- Be using KemoNine96's 6.0.1.1 or newer CWM recovery or my TWRP builds
- Have GAPPS 4.2.2 in a flashable zip
- MOST IMPORTANTLY, accept the fact that I, as a developer, take no responsibility for damage to your device. Consider yourself warned.
Current Builds
Alpha 2
Older Builds
Alpha 1
Gapps information
For those that don't know about GAPPS
Installation is as easy as:
1. Download the zips, and transfer it to your device
2. Boot into recovery mode and select "install zip from sdcard"
3. Select "Choose zip from sdcard", find the ROM zip, then confirm the installation
4. Follow the same procedure for GAPPS
5.Enjoy the new ROM!
Experimental builds, explanations and other such things will go here.

Because the hardware is so closely related and we don't have our own board. If you look around, the I847 is mentioned a few times.

Still looking at it.
Dude this ROM is extremely stable man. Awesome work.
Sent from my cellphone.
I noticed that myself... 4.2.2 seems to be incredibly efficient. My phone idled for 10 hours and was still at 92% when I got to it.
One thing I noticed is that background data kicks on for no reason, even if it's disabled.
smoothest rom for this phone i have seen thus far. I was on CM10 for a few days got choppy from time to time, this one is the best just needs camera! :fingers-crossed:
OP updated with a bug found by grumpyspud. Fortunately it's stable enough for daily use .
OP has the 8th's file in the database.
I found the bug on the 9th... Did you just forget to name it 9/9?

It affects all builds, so tye timestamp is irrelevant. The one I did on the 8th was an experimental build if I remember right.
im not sure if i did something wrong or this is a bug but, when i go into snapchat or zedge it says "SD-card required for this application" it worked fine for CM10 and the phone is reading my SD card from the apps storage.

THIS IS NOT ANDROID NOR THERE IS ANY ANDROID APP SUPPORT. GO USE GNU OR SOMETHING
Not working:
Camera recording (in progress but i wanted to share the sfos with yall already)
Use advanced camera from openrepos if you want wide angle (jolla didn't get to add it to stock camera yet)
calls are untested altho should work
GPS is untested (probably works too)
INSTALL:
Strap in for a ride, if at any step you don't know what you are doing, you better give up and stay on android. If i'm doing something incorrectly then tell me but i've been fighting over 3 days just to get lineage and twrp working… but maybe i'm just stoopid
If you can install provided lineage 17.1 on slot a then you don't need these instructions and jump to flashing sfos:
I couldn't find any valid tutorial on getting stock android 10 but i've found stock fastbootable image somewhere (yes, don't trust it lol) so i will share it with you [link]
Also lineage removed 17.1 builds but the guy was making nightlies which are still available so i also uploaded the build i'm using for archive purposes [link]
Idea is that no matter where you are coming from or if you just bought device you should get to sfos this way. And if you are wondering still yes we will be removing ALL YOUR DATA so backup it.
Flash the provided stock via fastboot (there is script and even files for QDL but i haven't tested those). It's pretty straight forward you should figure it out, if not then there is some tutorial i think on this forum or on internet, if you can't handle it then give up really you can do more damage than good.
Verify that its booting, stock will be flashed to slot a. flash and boot twrp (android 10 version, link to image, link to installer) via "fastboot flash boot twrp-3.5.2_10-1-Z01RD.img" i'm not really using windows but you should be able to figure it out already. Flash lineage 17.1 from provided link, it will flash to slot b. afterwards flash twrp installer (the zip) so that you can boot twrp (just flashing twrp on boot on slot b doesn't work GO FIGURE). Reboot, verify that lineage is booting, reboot to bootloader, select recovery, hold power button (fastboot reboot recovery only works sometimes, again GO FIGURE). you should be back in twrp on slot b. Flash lineage again as well as twrp installer so that lineage will be installed on slot a as well as twrp will be bootable. reboot, verify that lineage boots and that you are in fact on slot a. Finally we have lineage on slot a.
Sailfish flashing instructions (come here if you have lineage 17.1 on slot a):
- download rootfs
- flash/boot twrp on slot a (or slot b, i'm not even sure at this point)
- wipe everything (you need to format data, not wipe, format. data NEEDS to be unencrypted, advanced -> format data -> yes, if you didn't realize yet we are wiping EVERYTHING so backup your data)
- Install rootfs (aka sailfish, it will flash kernel onto the same slot so you don't have to worry about switching slots, at least i hope so, if it doesn't boot, get the hybris-boot.img from the zip and fastboot flash boot it onto slot a)
- Boot
- Have fun

Hybris17 is almost ready. I'll re-port 5z on top of lineage17/hybris17 in hope of getting modem fixed. If the modem will turn out to be fixed i will push it forward as current hybris16 based port has only stereo and modem broken.

There is no android support.
Currently what is blocking me is being unable to boot twrp at all so i cannot flash lineage 17.1 and therefore i cannot flash sfos. This device is such pita…
Good news, since i got 17.1 to work, i also got port working on 17 base and mobile data (and probably calls too) are working! So now hopefully i will have 100% working port as now i only have camera left to fix. After that i will release it again

So i released the build because i was impatient. Instructions may sound difficult but if you know what you are doing then its pretty straightforward
Step 1 get provided lineage 17.1 installed on slot A
Step 2 make sure /data is unencrypted, format it
Step 3 flash sfos on slot A
Step 4 voila

On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhance the overall user experience. You can find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers and many more in the Abstruct app, included in our builds.
Our builds are based on the Code Aurora Forum Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features, performance, and stability. We are dedicated to providing a user experience with the stability that you can expect from stock ROMs with best-in-class performance and features to help you get the most out of your device.
Notice
As we are growing on our list of supported devices in each release, we require of a stronger build environment so we can speed up the compilation process for releases. Based on the actual Quartz 4 list, we support over 30 devices, which takes between 2 and 3 days for all the builds to be completed without counting possible compilation issues or rebuild needs, based on our current specs.
We kindly ask all of you that are in position to donate anything, to help and support us so we can provide better and faster build releases, as well as increase the download speed of our servers, all looking for your enjoyment.

when i flash a new rom if i end up in a bootloop and get that encryption bug. What I do is pick the 3rd option that completely wipes your system (with everything backed up to my sd card) then try installing the rom. when you finish flashing it reboot back into recovery again and flash it again. also make sure pretty much everything but cache/dalvik and data and not mounted.
took me a bit of trial and error and I have no clue why but ive been flashing roms this way without fail since i installed pbrb3 recovery. Aospa, RR, evolution and another one that i found on androidfilehost lol.

We are very excited to announce the alpha of Paranoid Android Sapphire, based on Android 12.
You can find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers and many more in the Abstruct app from the PlayStore.

We kindly ask all of you that are in position to donate anything, to help and support us so we can provide better and faster build releases, as well as increase the download speed of our servers, all looking for your enjoyment.

I haven't tried it yet, but thanks.
thanks for the work,
found a serious issue:
if switched to button navigator, the whole system will crash and require factory reset to re-enter the system
Thank you for the work done!
I found that when installing navigation using three buttons, the phone goes out (reboot on the screensaver).
Flush in successfully, but cannot enter recovery mode. What should I do for the next update?is there a recovery support for A12?
Thanks a lot for this build, this build seems problem in Face Unlock system, how to fix it? thank you
The navbar bug is real. I'm using a workaround, I've installed this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nu.nav.bar&hl=it&gl=US
But I can't still remove gestures, so an update with navbar fix would be good since after setting 3-button navigation there was no way to avoid system factory reset
这个版本我刷入了两次,结果都没有人脸解锁,请问是这个rom里面没有吗

I just installed it, everything was fine at first and im really happy for this first build, but it suddenly change when i realize that the fast charging isn't working, i usually get araoun 2000 - 2400 mA before, but now? It wont event get more than 400 mA, i hope this can be fix in the next update, that would be awesome
Also, i cannot install anything via twrp (for example magisk) after successfully install this rom because the twrp didnt ask for password I've set to decrypting storage, can anyone help me to fix this issue?

You can use the adb command in TWRP, adb pull xxxx.zip /data, and then install it in TWRP. You need some Linux commands
Thank you for the work out
I found that some apps can't load fingerprint yet,it says TEE error (deviceid=null)
thanks.
Your download link seems to have expired, can you provide a new download link?
When is a new update coming out? i have been using this rom for a while now and i must say that i think its the best so far for the Mi 8 Pro. The only problem it has is when you try installing some apps, they dont work as they see your phone as a rooted phone. for example coincola app. Can this be fixed?

LineageOS 20 for Mi Note 2

After much tinkering and countless of brain explosions, I have determined that my lineage-20 builds for Mi Note 2 is suitable to be released for the public.
Please note that the ROM bears the "[UNOFFICIAL]" tag for a reason - you might face instability or performance issues.
You are not recommended to use this ROM for daily usage, just to be safe. I am not an experienced developer, hence my changes could be wrong or incomplete,
rendering issues to occur on the device.
Full credits to bgcncm, luk1337, haggertk, joe2k01, and all other xiaomi/msm8996 developers.
This ROM is based on official xiaomi/msm8996 sources by LineageOS, with my changes on top to get lineage-20 working.
Without their work on xiaomi/msm8996's Linux 4.4 kernel, this wouldn't be possible at all. Please consider donating to them or the LineageOS foundation.
Additional, huge credits to ChronoMonochrome and @rINanDO for their huge assistance in my early days of Android development.
Please refer to my github repositories for more information on my commits and changes made on top of official LineageOS repositories.
Things to take note:
- Not all features are fully tested as I do not have the required equipment etc, such as testing Bluetooth audio, Dual SIM network, or Netflix.
- Builds will be SELinux permissive for the time being.
- Builds are using EAS (Energy Aware Scheduling) configuration, rather than the traditional HMP configuration. No PowerHAL is included for the time being.
What's not working:
- SELinux (permissive)
- PowerHAL (excluded for EAS switch)
- Camera HAL log spam
- other untested features (ie. DRM, Bluetooth audio)
- some other non-fatal, kernel side errors and outdated configurations
- you tell me.
What's working:
- everything else.
Installation steps:
1. Update system to latest stock.
2. Unlock bootloader and perform factory reset.
3. Utilize fastboot to flash and boot recovery.img from my Download link below.
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot boot recovery.img
You can also boot official TWRP first to make persist and EFS backups. (Highly recommended. )
4. Wipe everything, and sideload ROM zip using adb.
adb sideload lineage-20.0-20230420-UNOFFICIAL-scorpio.zip
5. Flash GAPPS if wanted. Reboot and have a sip of coffee.

FAQs:
Spoiler: FAQs
1. What is "Not stable, not unstable, just right"?
A. Because I dare not declaring my builds stable when it is clearly based on expert works (looking timidly at LineageOS maintainers..) and they haven't release lineage-20 for gemini and natrium.
Afterall, there's still huge pile of stuffs to work on before I can slap the word 'stable' to my builds, which I can be most certain it won't happen.
2. Safetynet? Root?
A. Passing SafetyNet requires one additional measure for Android 9 and above: chmod 0640 /sys/fs/selinux/enforcing. I still haven't implement the changes in device tree. Otherwise, without Magisk installed, everything is well-handled and apps should work.
3. Some apps still detect root. Why?
A. This is because some apps are detecting system props, particularly looking for userdebug/test-keys and ro.debuggable=1 props. You could modify build.prop to workaround this, but bear in mind that in Android 13, there are multiple build.prop scattered across /system, /odm, /vendor, /system_dlkm, /system_ext...
4. ETA?
5. Ok... but when you going to update?
A. No definitive answer. I'm doing this in my free time and on a voluntarily basis. New builds will only be released after it passes my quality inspection, and that it actually includes major changes. Maybe there won't be any update at all if all is well.

edit 1: How to get rid of decrypt data? im trying to make some backups using twrp.
edit 2: besides the sad decrypt data issue, the instalation process seems to restore the default partition table. It deleted my custom 4gb+ system partition and restored to stock 2,975mb (only a problem to postmarketos/plasma users).

oh. Don't think that's possible. A new recompilation of TWRP is required, or if someone did it.
Now new android requires FBE encryption, not even FDE, so old TWRP will not able to decrypt it.
If backup is really important, suggest you to use dd first, or adb pull your files. I don't know how to compile TWRP, so can't build one for now.

I have checked on the installaton steps of postmarket os for scorpio, and I'm stunned. If an image file could "repartition", then no doubt flashing LineageOS will also able to "repartition" it back since android zip builds use image patching too. We actually have to specify the size of partitions in device tree configurations.
I never came across this method of "repartitioning" and couldn't find further information on Google. Do share with me if you know any references about this.
