Maybe try flashing stock from sammobile site with odin. Must be a software problem.

Can't connect to computer to restore. Here lies the problem..........................

[Q] PC Not Recognizing USB as Mass Storage

I'm currently on DK28 and anytime I plug my phone into my computer via USB cord it just shows that it's charging. This is an issue since I would like to switch to EB13 and I need to be able to use Odin for the EB13 modem. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Samsung drivers several times and not just on this computer, on two others that I have. I've also tried multiple usb cords and it's all the same thing. I've Googled the problem and everything I've tried has been useless to me, including the PDANet thing. So my question is is there any other way for me to be able to update to an EB13 rom without having to connect via USB? Or does anyone have any other ideas as to how I can fix this? I've been just using a microSD card adapter to put things on my SD for awhile now so that's never been a problem but I can't use Odin unless my computer recognizes my phone I guess.
HELP!!

Have you gone into settings, applications, development and unchecked USB Debugging?
I also have read numerous times where people have found the USB connector on the phone had something bent and was preventing a full good connection.
Good luck
You have got to be missing something drivers can be 32 or 64 bit make sure you have the right one for your computer. Is usb debugging checked in settings/app/development. Randy Shear has alot of step by step stuff for on youtube that might help
Yeah I have USB debugging checked and my computer is 64 bit which is also what my drivers are.
Turn off anti virus and dl driver again thats what I had to do. Reboot both devices also

Tried that too and apparently that wasn't the problem. :\
I read where one person who was having something like this was told to turn their computer off; plug in the phone to the usb and turn the computer on and it worked.
Maybe try that?
I've had this problem, got real annoying after a while. I ended up reinstalling the drivers and turning off usb debugging and it would go into mass storage. Re enabled and tried again, and it continues to work.
Thanks for trying to help guys but unfortunately neither of those things worked either.
I had this problem. I flashed a different ROM (try downloading a new ROM from the phone) then flash it after following the appropriate instructions.
The ROM I had that problem with was Nebula ROM, I fixed it by flashing Bonsai v2.0.
Well I have now tried that as well and even that didn't work. This is so ****ing annoying.

Try flashing another ROM instead of Bonsai. I hate that you're stuck, but I'd try a few more ROMs before giving it to a Sprint Store.
I had this problem as well and did everthing mentioned here as well to no avail.
Now here's what worked for me.
First, install drivers on another pc (ensure that you connect, wait for drivers to load, disconnect and reconnect your phone at least twice..sometimes a takes a couple of connects to install the drivers fully).
Next use odin to flash DK18 stock firmware. When you connect your phone..suddenly mass storage will be back again. You can then load whatever firmware you wish.
This has worked on my phone and a friend's with the same issue.
I had this happen to me on 2 different machines:
- First time: A restart fixed it
- Second time: My phone didn't like the usb ports on my work laptop's docking station. The cable would only work with the actual laptop's usb port.

[Q] USB Data Connection Issue

I used to be able to plug my phone into my PC and slide down the notifications to enable a USB connection but I'm unable to anymore.
I checked that debug is on. I've even tried via the Wifi Settings USB Connection method. The phone will charge but is not seen by the PC. I've tried other PCs and other cables. It doesn;t show up in Device manager and I've also tried the windows drivers for the phone.
The only thing that has changed in the past month or so is that I replaced my Clockwork Recovery module with the stock recovery module and my phone is no longer rooted. Any ideas anyone?

Just enable USB storage before plugging in
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
Like I said I tried the Mass Storage connection method via the menu in Wifi Settings. The onscreen instructions say to enable then to plug in. Still get nothing.
Try reinstalling the driver that might do the trick. I am having the same issue but I am running the unofficial cm9.. good luck to us both and is it the same cable u always been using cause I bought 2$ cable off eBay it only charges no USB connection
Sent From Galaxy Bigger Than Yours.
I tried to re-install drivers and I'm using a known working cable - the one that came with the phone.
It really is strange. The only thing that has happened recently is my phone was rooted with Clockwork Recovery and then I reverted back to stock.
I'll see what happens after the ICS update comes from Telus next month, I guess.
Not a big deal as I can use AirDroid to transfer stuff over wifi.
Since rebooted a couple times now everything is working. I also had a problem with the lock screen rotating and phone defaulting to speakerphone. everything is back to normal now but i wish i knew what caused it.

Lost transfer via USB

When I plug in my USB cable, it only charges, it no loner allows me to transfer files to my Desktop/Laptop. Nothing shows up on my computer.
When I start my LG PC software it never connects.
How can I set it so when my USB cable is plugged it allows me to transfer files and browse the drive.
I have looked everywhere and the options given does not work on this phone. Is there a setting I may have accidentally disabled??

Remove all LG Software, TOOLS, USB Drivers, and Install latest LG USB driver 3.11
Go device manager to check if all LG device is installed properly, You should find mtp device in the device manager.

I've had this happen on my old phone occasionally, and found I had to turn the phone completely off (not just reboot) and back on to get the computer to recognize the phone again.
I can power off, take out battery, flash new rom ,factory reset ,wipe cache ,dalvic everything and no matter what computer I connect it to it just charges its not a matter of having driver its like the computer doesn't even know I plugged something in. happened after I flashed I think it was dragon rom not even sure or maybe after I updated the ota while rooted or is it you cant ota with cwm/twrp installed

can you tellme what you have done to be able to flash a new rom without having the ability to transfer files via usb thanx still haven't figured anything out. just saw a post about it being enable through the kernel can anyone help with this

SOLVED: Lenovo P2 - Charges fine, but unable to connect via MTP/ADB/Fastboot

Hi all.
Had a bit of an accident with mine a couple of months ago where the phone had a brief dunk in the toilet.
I opened it up and checked that there was no moisture inside, and it powered up fine after 24 hours in a dry place.
I though I'd gotten away with it, but I now find that it doesn't show up as a connected device via MTP/ADB/Fastboot.
What's strange is that if I try to set USB connectivity type via developer options (MTP/PTP/Charge only etc.) it doesn't seem to allow me to set the mode. Feels like a ROM issue :-/
Any ideas? I can't be 100% certain that it's down to water damage as I didn't test connectivity straight away. It seems a bit far-fetched that water damage could have knocked out just connectivity, as everything else works fine.
Thanks in advance.
I had the same issue.
Before we try to wipe your phone to flash stock firmware, let's try some driver tweaking.
Search on Google for Qualcomm drivers. Any are fine.
Install them and try to connect again.
If that fails, be prepared to reset your phone.
Copy all your important files to your pc!
Shutdown the phone, hold volume + and - as well as power key until the logo shows up, you should now see .
Otherwise I found a video of YouTube
In there select wipe user data...good luck

Hi sm00th4f3.
Thanks for your response.
Things I've already tried are........
o Connecting the phone to multiple PCs. None 'chime' to say that a device is connected.
o Factory defaulted/wiped from recovery
o Tried reflashing the S251 OTA update file from recovery as update.zip
o Cleaned the contacts on the USB socket
o Tried different drivers
As fastboot or ADB won't see the device, I'm not able to push the image.
Is there a way of doing a full stock rom flash from the SD card via stock recovery? If so, does anyone know where to get a flashable ROM?
Thanks guys.

Somewhere on the custom ROMs ,recovery etc section there exists a thread with flashable zips for the stock recovery...there aren't many so you should find it pretty quickly. In recovery use sd card package update or some thing similar in name.
Try that. The process will take a while.
On another note, your connectors seem to be done. You might need new ones, but as long as it charges, that should be fine.
You can use AirDroid for file management like copying audio, pictures whatever you like..etc
Hi all.
Thanks to anyone that looked in.
I managed to fix the issue, but it does appear that the problem was down to water damage.
I purchased a faulty P2 from ebay for spares.
Most faulty P2s were selling for £60+ as the screens were intact, but I found one with a smashed screen and won it for just over £10.
I swapped the lower board over to my phone (micro board with USB connector and speaker attached) and was immediately able to connect via Fastboot/MTP etc.
Well happy
I've now got official Lineage 14.1 on it.
EDIT: Oh yes, and now I've got a spare battery, and a 32GB microsd card that was left in the phone

Computers not recognizing (rooted) phone

I've updated all drivers on different computers, tried with different cables, turned on and off USB debugging, and switched phone to File Transfer and other settings, revoked usb permissions, etc, tried to connect while in fastboot, etc. My guess is the issue is something in the phone itself. I also have not received (phone doesn't see them) updates since January, which is the firmware I'm on. Anyone else have ideas on how to get the phone to talk to a computer? Thanks all.

I would download March... April if it's posted full image and see if you can fastboot the new image to the phone. Use the flash-all.bat or .sh if your Linux that comes with the download.
BEWARE this will erase all your data unless you change a line in the a flash-all file.
If your not perfectly clear on what i am suggesting post back... do not try this unless you understand completely what i am recommending.
