I bought this one (it has a thin/non disturbing holder) and it works like a charm: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cuxwill-Da...=1513689453&sr=8-1&keywords=cuxwill+car+mount
but there are also others from Cuxwill: https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_s...ount&sprefix=cuxwi,aps,230&crid=3UPDGBHOLGCKQ
Cheers.

I have this type, using small plate under hard case, working amazingly.

Not at all, I was afraid as well, but it holds up very tight. I purchased it via local shop in Slovakia so brand/model won't be of much help, but eBay/Amazon is full of similar (same) products.

Always use iOttie holders. Great holders, have been using the same one for years, it has gone through about 5 phones in that time.

Since A1 has metallic back, does it still need a metal plate to stick to holder? Can someone who has a magnetic holder verify please?

Aluminium alloy doesn't "stick" to magnets, so metal plate is necessary. You can verify it easily yourself, just take any magnet and put it on the back of the phone..

are you sure that the magnet is not disturbing the device ? A lot of chips are there... if you have magnet close to the memory chip this can cause simply destroying the chip!

Flash memory is not susceptible to magnetic force, nor other phone components. The only thing which could potentially and temporarily malfunction while in magnetic field is phone compass, but vendors of holders claim that they use "special" arrangement of magnets to minimize this effect. Magnetic holders are considered as absolutely safe.

I bought this 5 years ago and still going strong. Great suction and holds my current Nexus 6 with no issues (awaiting on deliver of Mi A1) https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00BZWW3ES/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Using one similar too. "Cafele", a random chinese brand. Works GREAT, better than I expected tbh, its small and durable. Only drawback is that you need that metal piece in your case... I bought a second case just for the car since i didnt want to have that crap in the back of my beautifull phone . Anyway, if the case is slim enough you may even put the plate inside the case. That being said I still prefer this magnetic holder over any others I had. Its one of the smallest, nicest looking and easiest to use.

Anyone tried this yet?

Hi, has anyone purchased the "alu-leather book style proporta" case yet?... or anything similar?
Any feedback is appreciated..
thanks
yes.....and its 100 times better than the standard case......fits perfectly on the device....all buttons are not covered by the case and u also dont have to take the unit out of the case to use as a phone or pda.....highly recommended
Really... what about the fit... I mean judging from the pictures alone it seems as if the unit is only held in place by the four stubs. Is that enough to hold the unit in place securely? Because I don't want the unit to fall out of the case(being 1,000 dollars plus) when it is on my belt! And how many credit cards can it hold?
Thanks for your feedback irv777!
thats what i first thought as well but theres actually a plastic transparent sleeve which holds the unit itself...the keyboard side actually slides through the sleeve to keep it in place....i'll post some pics soon if u like
Can you type through the plastic?
of course......its designed that way so u dont have to take the unit out.....
Pictures would be great if you don't mind. How many credit cards can it hold? 'cause I am thinking of using it as my wallet as well.... tired of lugging around too many things... that is why we got a ppcp in the first place...hehe..
thanks again
theres two slots for sd cards and maybe 2-3 credit cards.....but i dont think u can use it as a wallet as the slots are too tight....
sold...just bought one...hehe... thanks now my jasjar will be safely protected...
Umm, I am not sold yet because of the plastic thngy over the keyboard.
How does it change the feel of the keyboard? Can you still feel the separate keys? Can you feel the bumps on F and J? How hard/soft/think/thin is the plastic? Does it cause neighbouring keys to be pressed by accident?

no, the plastic cover does not affect the neighbouring keys at all......i had the same thought like you but when you actually start using the keyboard it feels like the plastic is not even there.....precise keying as before.....well i didnt feel any difference anyway.....
here it is with the plastic cover...

Great! Thanks irv777. Going to the proporta site now.
I found these cases which suspiciously look like the PDAir cases which suspiciously look like the Proporta cases. Only $17.95, half price of Proporta.
Of course I have no idea what the service is like or we would be getting what we see in the pictures. Just that they look like the same cases and the pouch case have better pictures than that of Proporta.
http://pdaden.com/shop/cart.php?target=search&substring=mda+pro
yeh i know what u mean....and also thats exactly like mine......i got mine from ebay by the way..
Well, I ordered mine (I got the pouch version).
We'll see what happens. The company is in HK, so I have no idea how long it will take for regular parcel mail to reach US.
Where's the belt clip? How can you carry this in shorts and T-Shirt?
theres a detachable belt clip that screws on the back of the case just under the camera hole and the actual clip-on that attaches to ur belt/shorts watever.....
Great irv777,
off to eBay...
this is where i bought it from......

Demagnetized Zenus Prestige Vintage

So I bought this case before knowing that the magnet would screw up my Note. After a bit of online research, I came up with the idea of installing a snap fastener button in place of the magnet (just like the Mastige series). Looking through Etsy, I found this set of buttons:
http://www.etsy.com/transaction/71729266"]http://www.etsy.com/transaction/71729266"]http://www.etsy.com/transaction/71729266
This type of fastener is probably the more flattened type of snap fasteners. And it looks more elegant as well.
Taking the magnet out was a pain since they were glued on a piece of paper and there were 2 of them each side. Here is the final result:

This is the style man.
Looks hot.
Nice mod looks totally like it was made that way.
Looks good. Have to say I love the aged leather but I'm not big on the studs or embossing. My ideal case would be that one that looks like a leather bound book but they only make them for idevices
In what way did the magnet cause issues? Mine has a magnet clasp, not Mega strong though

supposedly affect s-pen accuracy. i have a small magnet on the back of my casing too, for the kickstand, but have not seen averse effects in s-pen accuracy
From what I gathered, the magnet would not cause any immediate effect due to its relative weak strength. However, over time, the S-Pen and the touch screen would be affected. I would not take any chance to find out how severe the problem will be.
is there hard evidence of this?

Nothing concrete, but you can find the detail right here:

i have tested this with the *#0*# Sensors, and Magnetic sensor (assuming this is pointing to magnetic north) moves with my case where my magnet points to. dayum, this is a good excuse for a new case!
I am actually planning to do the exact same thing as you. Except I have the Prestige Origami Diary Series instead (attached below).
Any hints or tips that you could share as to how you went about it? I have checked your supplier link for the buttons (nice find!) and plan to purchase from them the exact same set as well. Seems like there are some useful tools included in the package already, like the button presser / holder thing.
Just a couple of quick questions if you don't mind...
How did you remove the magnets itself from inside the leather? Because I assume you cut into the leather through the top layer with a scalpel of some sort, and somehow pulled it out with tweasers?
What sort of adhesive did you use to secure the buttons in place? Using some sort of glue or just the pressure of the buttons locked together?
How long roughly did this whole process take you?
case
i may be wrong but i am using Zenus Vintage for few month already and havent noticed any problems yet...
Can you post a how to please?
Weird, i have the exact same case and it comes without magnet..
I have a snap fastener fitted originally

There are two versions. You have the latest one.
Where do you buy the new version?
EDIT: Found it at http://zenuscaseusa.com/samsung-galaxy-note-prestige-vintage-g-note-diary.html
the funny thing is that i bought this case with magnetic closure a few days ago without knowing that there is a version with a snap fastener. The good thing is that i bought it for 27.99 dollars from ebay.com. i guess i will have to apply a snap fastener myself.

Can Anyone Suggest a Good Stand for Galaxy Note?

Hi guys,
As stated in the thread title, I want to use my Note for movie-watching purposes or for tablet-like orientation, so I'll be needing a stand that can hold the note either vertically or horizontally.
I don't feel using those cases with a built-in kickstand since I prefer just thin cases which can easily be put inside the pocket.
So there, any suggestions of a good stand for Galaxy Note?
Bought this stand for my note few weeks back .. quite solid build and can be used for viewing vertically and horizontally
Belkin stand made for tablet but fit just nice for note .. made of aluminium and rubber to prevent scratch on certain areas in contact with note and most importantly adjustable angles ..

Will try to post some photos...............
I charged my ZU and my Z1 only ONE TIME by USB-cable before use and since first installation ONLY via magnetic cable (ZU: dock, Z1: modified magnetic plug to fit the too small opening in the hard-case (NOT flip-cover, my Nillkin is still on the mail and did not yet arrive, so I will see if they made it right).
The charging process with the magnetic cable is fast, easy to connect and disconnect, NO need to open the waterproof flip (which will with the time wear out and by this prevent water-proofness), and reliable AND esp. with the Z1 allows screen rotation when charged with the magnetic cable.
My main reasons to buy ZU and Z1 were: 1.) magnetic dock/charging cable, 2.)water-proofness

One of those Universal Magnetic Car Mount with our ZF2

Hi all...
I've been using this phone for long time but never successfully found a good car mount. I don't want suction cup style, nor air vent clip. I am thinking of getting one of those magnetic ones. I heard comments about strong magnet interferes the screen on/off. But my main concern is the design of our phone. Our ZF2 has curved back. But this magnetic mount required to have best performance on regular phone with flat back.
I would like comment from those who used this kind of magnetic mount.
TIA
I have the aukey one. I bent the metal plate and can fit it behind the stock back cover.
It's the best set up.
No extra bulge. No case.
Jump in car.
Put on magnet. Holds tight.
Doesn't affect GPS or reception.
AUKEY 360 Degree Universal Car Holder Magnetic Air Vent Mount Smartphone Dock Mobile Phone Holder for iPhone 6S 5 Samsung S6 HTC

(from AliExpress Android)
I use this and work very good
http://pt.aliexpress.com/item/With-..._9&btsid=2e3ff2bf-60e4-47c5-a102-e512c8d66999
No problem with back curve of our zenfone 2. Strong and effective. But with no case. If i try to put magnet inside the case the strong isnt enough. I hold but fall down when you grab a hola in the street
I use with a case and the magnet in back of case. Very nice
P.S - Doesent affect anything in screen or coverage. Double tap work as it should
I had one of this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/MEMTEQ-Univ...&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
I was very sceptic in the beginning, but it worked nicely, no problem with the curved back. However when I wanted to use it with a cover as well, it didn't hold any more. At that point I replaced the piece of metal provided in the packet with a larger metal piece which I stick in between the case and the back, and that way I got it holding with, but not perfectly.
Conclusion, only buy magnet holder if you are using your ZF without any flipcover or anything else.
Thx! Is yours ball joint standard 17mm one? The thing is... before I could wait someone to feedback here, I decided to purchase the Arkon ones (non magnetic mount) that has a standard 17mm ball join on a AMPS plate (as shown below) that stick with on my existing mount.
