Are there any DEVs for Kali Nethunter??? - Google Pixel XL Questions & Answers

One of my last devices, the Moto G4 Plus, had like an overlay ROM that ran best with Resurrection Remix. They already have OFFICIAL BUILDS available for most of the Nexus devices, just nothing for Pixels or the 6P i think.
If any of you talented Developers want to look into it : HERE

Best ROM for rooted Verizon Note 4 (SM-N910V)?

I have a Verizon NV-910V faked out to Developer Mode for root using this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...bilized-process-to-unlock-bootloader-t3375527
It still has 5.1.1 on it but I get frequent network dropouts whenever I'm driving. It's fine when I'm still like at home or work and fine even in weak signal areas, but it drops frequently while driving. It also hard freezes on average about once a week requiring a battery pull.
I know Verizon rolled a later rom after 5.1.1 that supposedly fixed flaky radio issues but I can't install any of those without losing root, right? Or can I? Is there Marshmallow rom now that retains root? Is there another ROM that folks are using on their Verizon Note 4s that works better than 5.1.1?
I have been using CM14 for over a year, It works. I have not tried anything more modern.

Is it safe to use a ROM that old? I doubt it is protected against things like the Blueborne bluetooth vulnerability from September of this year...
This thread is old, but it comes up first when I searched for custom rom for sm-n910v. So I wanted to add my findings - many of the custom roms in xda threads are no longer accessible as download link leads to 404 error. Best bet is to search for "trlte rom". There are roms based on Android 11, such as:
[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][11] LineageOS 18.1 [tblte][trlte][trlteduos]
LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device. All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS...
forum.xda-developers.com
But I could not get it to recognize my sim and debugging work came to end on lineageOS 18 port.
I wound up using Resurrection Remix 7.0.2 (android 9) instead:
[ROM][9.0.0][trlte] Resurrection Remix 7.0.2 [20190920][OFFICIAL]
Resurrection Remix P /* * Your warranty is now void. * * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please * do some research if you have any...
forum.xda-developers.com
Another option would be lineageOS 16:
[ROM][DISCONTINUED][9] LineageOS 16.0 [tblte][trlte][trlteduos]
LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device. All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS...
forum.xda-developers.com
Another place to look is androidfilehost.com where you can just search for "n910v" or "trlte" and it comes up with some stock and custom roms, but most missing description. It would be great if older custom roms mentioned in xda threads could be uploaded to androidfilehost so more people can access to them in future.

As far as I have read here in XDA. We have to wait for Android P GSI release, after which developers can start working on ROM for respective devices.
That still hasn't happened yet !! So you have to wait for that to happen before development can start.
There are rumors that LineageOS and Resurrection Remix ROM team has got their hands on that. But then again, I am not sure. It just talks happening in internet. But if that is true, expect ROMs based on those distributions tree to get P sooner than others.
Some flagship devices are getting Android p beta too
Mi mix 2s, nokia 7 Plus... And some others...

They are business partners of Google. So those hardware makers will get much early access to up coming code compare to general public. As far as I am aware, this code is still not open source, so legally also devs cant modify or work on this.
Regarding devices, OnePlus, Pixel, Nexus devices and many more will get much early access to this beta.
As far as I know, code will become open source with GSI release and that will start the development for custom ROM !!

Thanks, I was also wondering the same thing and this helped to answer my questions about what's happening.
I think Android P GSI is released now.

Port PiXeN2

Hey guys, since I'm using PixelExperience (9.0) for the 5T which is a port of the one for the 5 and that one is discontinued I was wondering if anyone could port the new rom by the same guy, PiXeN2, you can find it on xda: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/development/rom-nitrogen-os-beta-t3839453
I hope it's possible!

unofficial build of PE by official maintainer of 5T PE already released, I think 2-3 builds already. Check the TG channel (link available on PE 8.1 thread in XDA)
I've compiling nitrogen os for dumpling but I'm not able to test it yet. Someone feeling lucky to see if it boots? Gzosp sources. Probably 5.1.5 firmware. If it boots. U Will be the first person to properly boot a nitrogen rom in android p for 5t.
Guys where the hell is face lock ??

Confused: Why 32bit only OS on Moto G5 64bit hardware?

Hi!
If I understand things correctly, my Moto G5 phone is born with an Android OS version that only accepts 32bit code, although the hardware is 64bit?
Why did Moto do that? It sounds like selling a car with a 6 or 8 cylinders engine, and only use 4 of them...?!
And on top of that, I discovered they stopped updating that (primitive 32bit) Android 8.1.0 OS in February 2019...
Should I switch to a custom 64bit ROM? NB!: Stability and robustness is more important to me than fancy new features...!
I found 2 lists of 'Best ROMs for Moto G5'. The shortest recommends 8 here:
https://romsx.com/best-custom-roms-for-moto-g5/
So which should I choose?
NB: Moto G5 only has 16 GB.

You will have to ask Motorola for the answer to the first part
As for custom 64bit roms:
Lineage 17.1
Lineage mint (based on lineage 17.1)
ASOP android 10
Are the latest custom roms for this device (see dev section)
All will have the same issue with regards to camera/video recording not working fully

Thank you for your reply!
But what about ROMs that have been more tested in real life, where camera and video etc. work?
Yes - it is Motorola that should answer my first questions. I don't expect any answer from them... But others might have a comment...

All 64bit roms will have the camera issue as Motorola have not released updated camera libs
The roms I listed above are the latest roms which will have the camera bug minimised but you will still experience issues in some apps like only being able to take a certain amount of photos before the app freezes, camera not working in low light, green tint, video not recording/saving and so on. You can use various other apps but nothing is perfect and you may still experience issues
The only fully functioning custom rom with no bugs will be the 32bit lineage 14.1

That is the most useful information I have yet seen about custom ROMs - thank you!
But according to https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5/development/7-1-x-lineageos-14-1-moto-g5-t3611973 LineageOS 14.1 for Moto G5 is:
ROM OS Version: 7.1.x Nougat
Last Updated 2018-03-18
And the 'stock' OS on my Moto G5 is Android 8.1.0 updated in February 2019.
My intention was to UPgrade my OS, not DOWNgrade it... !
So THAT LineageOS 14.1 doesn't really seem relevant.
And on https://download.lineageos.org/ there doesn't seem to be a version for Moto G5(?) There are versions for G4 and G6, but not G5. (Neither under Lenovo - the actual producer.)
But thanks anyway!

Only official versions will be on the lineageos website
There is no difference between an official and unofficial version except the official versions are built on the lineage servers every week with any lineage side changes (not device side unless merged by maintainer)
However official versions have to meet certain criteria in terms of everything that works in stock rom must work in the unofficial lineage build submitted to become official.
As the camera doesn't work as it does in stock in lineage 17.1 it will never become official in its current state
They are listed under Motorola because that is the company that makes the phones
Lenovo is the parent company that owns Motorola

But I am not 100% sure about whether you are confirming that the stock ROM on Moto G5 is the newest available Android OS version where everything works?

That's sad.
So when I want to buy a phone in the future:
Which other smart phone brands will probably not leave their customers with 'a choice between plague or cholera'...?

Samsung will have the most community support as they are the most popular phones
Google pixel will obviously have longevity
Xiaomi might be the best budget choice other than later Motorola models
