Lets Begin , if You Have This Phone You Had Noticed That After Upgrade To The Last Version The Ability To Add Apn And Modify Them And The Hotspot Wont Work Any More This Is Because The Locked Everything Up For No Reason Well Money Is the Reason , We need to Extract XT1766_SPERRY_SPRINT_7.1.1_NCQ26.69-56_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip in a folder and SPERRY_SPRINT_NCQ26.69-48_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
in other folder , you must know your way to flash servicefile.xml on linux or windows no details here and bootloader unlocked , well that is easy , now we have to put the files : the 2 OEM files , the 4 System Files , boot.img ,
{{{ bootloader "NO NEED" This Work Before Just Because v48 and v56 have the same bootloader version }}} , recovey.img from SPERRY_SPRINT_NCQ26.69-48_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip inside the folder that have the XT1766_SPERRY_SPRINT_7.1.1_NCQ26.69-56_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip firmware and replace those files , optional for rooting you can replace recovery.img with the Squid2 TWRP recovery.img file and The boot.img Patched Fixed F2FS kernel which is based in the stock firmware kernel sources that we are going to flash here and then flash supersu inside twrp , Well Thats It after Flashing This Downgrade Custom stock you will have back the ability to ADD apn's Again And Use The Hotspot included in the Stock Firmware , Cheers , Thanks To All The People Involved in the development for Perry Moto E4 Thanks Everybody i hope this help somebody with the XT1766.
EDIT HELLO
Things Have Changed Dont Try To Downgrade Bootloader or The Phone Will Get Hard Bricked , Why well bootloader versions on new firmwares have been upgraded please check all the information on the Bootloader/Fastboot
MODE Of The Phone Which Version You Have , Now For Example If You Are On Version NCQS26.69-64-5 you will need SPERRY_SPRINT_NCQS26.69-64-5_cid50_XT1766-SS_7.1.1_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml full package then extract and now you will need SPERRY_SPRINT_NCQ26.69-48_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml extract it too , Now Just Move The 2 Oems Images And 4 System Images And Boot Image To SPERRY_SPRINT_NCQS26.69-64-5_cid50_XT1766-SS_7.1.1_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml Folder Next Look for RSD_Lite_Motorola_XML_To_Batch_Script on Google Download it And Watch The Video Of Rootjunky on how to use it. Very Simple Wish All Of You Luck And im Not Responsible Of Any Damage Of Your Phone Use This Guide On Your Own Terms.

I flashed the Sprint firmware and had data working on my XT1766 after it got it's carrier update, the Sprint firmware does not soft brick the phone as I flashed it and can confirm it doesn't soft brick it, so you are incorrect in saying that.

I'm not sure if I did something wrong but after trying this, my phone kept saying, "phone stopped working". I had backed up my phone so I restored it. Any ideas on what might have happened?

Yeah, don't try to restore system apps. Phone app has some quirks, it's in oem. There are oem hide xml files and so on. Why try to restore phone?

Oh, I never tried this method. I used rsd lite to flash the firmware (the one op says will brick you, it didn't by the way). After flashing new firmware I restored only data, nothing system or boot related, and have had no issues.

Keep in mind I have the virgin mobile version (sprint xt1766). Don't know which one you have. Some have had trouble with rsdlite on Windows 10, it worked fine for me though.
I used rsdlite from here
The newest one, 6.2.4 I think

Apn Xt1766
I just want to add apn and want to use hot spot again
As the phone is updated on latest build ..
I don't want the root access..
What's should I try then from previous build , can anyone
Guide me easy steps plz.

Xt1766 how to get working apn
Will anyone confirm

The steps are there. Just don't use the root part if you don't want root. Once you switch the files, flash the service file.xml with rsdlite.

Thanks, ill try and share the result.

I've tested it.. It worked for me but there is an issue
With this method occurred as well..
While Turing on the phone " BAD KEY" msg pops up on
Black display for 4-5 seconds and then mobile shows Motorola logo...
Now what is suppose to be done to get rid off BAD KEY msg.

That's normal if you unlock the bootloader. Flash the no verity opt encrypt, or magisk, and it will change from bad key to n/a. But there will always be a message if you unlock the bootloader.
I know you said you don't need root, so that bad key message is there to stay.

N/A will be there. But you can flash a new boot logo to kinda hide it. Instead of a black screen, any logo you want, maybe with a white strip at the top to hide it. I'll get you a link.

Just don't accept the update. You can root by flashing magisk. You will still receive update notification. You'll need to disable the moto update app. I forget which one exactly. But your phone shouldn't be able to do ota updates once you are rooted with twrp installed. The update will fail.
here is the root thread.

Thank you. I wish I had known this. I had to flash the stock recovery, etc for the updates to work. A little bit of an unnecessary hastle.

Ota updates will likely always fail if you have twrp, or have modified the system in any way. The ota performs many checks (assert props) to see if the system is clean. If any asserts fail, the ota will fail. Even restoring the stock recovery doesn't guarantee the ota will work.

Looking to be pointed in the direction of a root for Galaxy Tab A6 sm-t280

Hey guys,
Been searching for a few days now ive tried several root methods
the ones from playstore like
Kingroot
Kingoroot
Kingoroot desktop
Its a galaxy tab a6 running android 5.1.1
Build number LMY47V.T280XXU0APB6
All of the above say they can root it but they all failed
I have seen posts on forums such as this one offering custom roms for the device so I must assume there is a root somewhere and I just cant find it.
Any help would be extremely apreceated

Nope, no root for this device until an exploit is found.
Where is this custom rom you speak of?
I don't remember sorry
Is it likely one will be found a exploit I mean ?

Hopefully eventually one of the apps like Kingroot will work.

8gb model and over half of it is unusable and without a root an sd card isent really much help

It's still possible to customize the stock rom.
I have made some modifications to it and flashed no issues.
This means it can at least be debloated.
How would I do that exactly nothing I have tried has worked

Hello ashyx
I have the sm-T285m. Yes, I could not root it using the usual programs out there. Any way to inject root into the system image and then reflash it through odin? (as you mentioned you have managed to debloat it-maybe a dumb question as am sure you already looked into it) I recall trying to do such a thing on Huawei Mediapad x2 when there was no root but ran into issues after I accidentally overwrote my entire windows o/s and disk with linux and then gave up (had to extract files from image, add the su then recompile something like that?...from memory over a year back and was only my first and only foray into linux) The odin tar files are separate ones for modem, system, bootloader etc.
Thanks

I already tried prerooting the system image.
It wont boot because the boot.img needs to be patched and you can't patch the boot.img on a bootloader locked device.
I even asked Chainfire if there was any other way and he said no.

Thanks Ashyx...you mentioned you managed to debloat it. I tried ext4unpacker (maybe archaic now though recall it worked on 5.0.2) to separate the system.img into components but could not. I am interested in editing system image
(A) change dpi (increase the lcd density to 380 or so to get things bigger),
(B) change system font (put in a preferred ttf font),
(C) remove many unneeded (for me) google apps from the system folder, and
(D) enable mobile data auto on off for mms via the features.xml or others.xml. Do you think these could be done (you already mentioned the debloat).
typically i managed to get all of the above done if rooted.
Any advice appreciated on how to do this unpacking and repacking.
Thanks
does this help? opensouce kernel?
(again maybe preaching to the choir but thought I'd ask-not knowledgeable here but posting if it helps in getting to a semi-rooted type state somehow)
http://opensource.samsung.com/reception/receptionSub.do?method=sub&sub=F&searchValue=sm-t285
btw i 'managed' to get oem unlock to show as checked permanently...does that mean the bootloader is unlocked now? (cross flashed through odin the 285 on my 285m the system CP file...and reverted back to 285m-no difference though in network as modem was still 285m as was partition and BL-reflashed the BL as well separately for 285m-after all this shows oem unlock checked-when i got the device new it was unchecked)
edit...from what it appears, it means it CAN be unlocked, yes? but not actually unlocked?

It wont make any difference. Enabling OEM unlock doesn't unlock the bootloader.
You still wont be able to flash unsigned boot or recovery images.
It will only allow you to flash an unsigned system image.
I use Ubuntu to mount and edit Ext4 images.
You can use the windows or Linux version of simg2img to convert the sparse image to raw then mount in Linux
Tbh Samsung need to provide an unlock for this device like they do for the Chinese devices as there is no reason why this device should have a locked bootloader.

Progress: Boost Mobile Moto E4

Hello, I'm new
I'm not sure if this is the right place, I felt a discussion area was an okay place to share and discuss my findings
I'm working with the Boost Mobile Motorola E4, the contents to this thread will relate solely to the Boost E4
Bootloader Unlocking
Unlocking the E4's bootloader was very simple through Motorola's website, it is for certain unlocked
After unlocking the bootloader I got the bad key screen but in my experience that's normal
You can verify that your bootloader is unlocked by using fastboot or checking the Developer Options
Rooting
Other people claim to have success with it, I have not yet had that success Just flash Magisk 13.1 after flashing the verity zip, don't bother with anything else, root will work first try. If you tried another root method, you will have to restore with the method in post #2 before it will work without giving the error.
After flashing the superuser zip and the verity zip, I wasn't led to a successful root I instead downloaded SuperSU-v2.82-201705271822 and flashed that after the verity zip and i was able to reach home menu
I tried flashing Chainfire's SuperSU zip but the device stuck at the boost mobile logo, I will try again after I can get back to stock and do the processes over again and find a way to have 100% success each time Downloaded a new version SuperSU-v2.82-201705271822 as noted above and i was able to fully boot
The issue now is that SuperSU app isnt detecting root but Terminal is gaining root, I'm going to try reinstalling app from the market. I got the SU Binary Occupied error, going to try to downgrade it to 2.79 and see how that goes. It didn't work for me, now it says improperly installed.. Going to try something else. It's 1:55AM August second, taking a small break from the root, at least I got other things figured out for now.
verity zip link (flash first): https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24459283995297893
Stock Resources
Sprint 7.1.1 stock RSD file: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298975628
-update- I added the stock RSD file to the list, going to be doing some pulls of stock files for us to work with when I can.
I'm going to try to collect as much information as I can about this device and provide as much detail as possible
NOTE: The below IS NOT Boost Mobile stock, it's sprint will update when I figure out Boost Stock
The sprint stock does fully work with the Boost Mobile device, LTE/data services seems to not work until you do a Factory Reset (in settings). ##72786# didn't work. It is now working for me fully after the factory reset from settings. The boost apps automatically install after the factory reset and after the celluar setup on first boot.. My Boost, etc.
After a few times of flashing and re-setup I've ended up with HFA error 701 which asks me to contact service provider to configure the device for service. Fixed by turning phone off for 20 minutes to an hour and the activation processed correctly.
If your experience differs, let us know!
Restoring to Stock
Install Motorola Drivers
Download RSDlite v6.2.4: http://rootjunkysdl.com/files/Android Programs/RSDLite6.2.4.zip
Download the Sprint firmware file: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298975628
Rename the zip to sperry.zip, the reason for this is to avoid the long file name error in RSD in some locations
Let the flashing process complete
Some people reported RSD not working in Windows 10, this is not fully true, install all moto and android drivers and it will show up fine as seen in below image

Thanks!,

Do you have the USA or international variant of the phone? The only bootloader unlocking guide I've found was for the international variant.

@zoofie666 were you able to actually flash the moto g5 twrp or did you just boot it? I can get it to boot with fastboot but I get a not signed or corrupt error when trying to flash it.

Yeah, I came to that conclusion. Just read it elsewhere also. I'm going to see what I can do about building twrp.

Not sure, but you can do so by booting the Moto G 5 twrp with fastboot. Restoring works also.

I have the Boost Mobile variant.
Is there anyone with the Boost Mobile variant that made a working system and boot backup? If so, could you please upload it for me? Mine got corrupted somehow and won't restore.
@amarc78 You should be able to use the Sprint firmware posted by zoofie666 - Boost is Sprint's prepaid brand.
The weirdness with the activation on Sprint/Boost seems to be normal, because I had trouble with two phones recently. The first was a retail unlocked e4 (to be used on Sprint), done before rooting, and activated at a Sprint corporate store last week by a rep who had trouble. The second phone was a retail unlocked Moto g4 Play (also to be used on Sprint), that I rooted first, got the SIM and back-end computer part taken care of by a rep at the same store yesterday, and did the rest myself.

Yeah, I know all about that. I've already made a stock rom zip with sprint firmware but I want Boost so I can make a zip for that.

Dang bro, you pop up everywhere I go around here, lol. Remember me from the moto g helping getting data on cm? Your the one who posted the nasa gif when we got it right? Anyway, I would gladly take what you have rooted or not, and any other imgs you would be so kind to provide me with. I was about to buy another now that they're $20 cheaper than when I got my first. I knew that would happen. I wanted to get my wife one anyway. I was a dumb ass and ran a flash all script for sprint stock firmware and forgot to remove everything but the system sparse chunks. So now I really need full stock firmware. Thanks a lot for responding man!

Hey, don't you have a LG volt?
Hello guys, i have two questions:
a) after you unlock bootloader on this device, is it possible to flash the non boost (international e4) rom on it? if so, have you done it?
b) i used to have a moto e2 from boost mobile (xt1526) and did this with the unlocked international e2 rom (xt1527) and i was able to use my gsm networks with it as i dont live in the U.S and CDMA bands dont work in my country, would it be possible with this device too? Because GSM bands are embeded in snapdragon chipsets, so flashing a stock unlocked firmware should make it work, but i want to know if you have tried it

I managed to break my XT1676 also, couldn't find the NPPS25.137-15-11 image either.
I ended up flashing NPP25.137-33 using RSDLite but modifying the flashing script to not flash the partition layout or the bootloader as they are older versions and got it back up and running. If you had that image on the phone previously and you have an unlocked bootloader you can do the same.
Let me know if you need more instructions.
Cheers.
Thank you for replying, raiamino.
I'd like to ask if is there any other option especially for phones with locked bootloader? I'd like to reflash my phone because it became unbelievably slow and laggy after some time. Factory reset didn't help much.
I flashed a lot of phones in the past (for example Sony Ericsson Xperia X8, Lenovo S60...) but this phone really surprises me about flashing. I found a lot of custom ROMs here on xda and I was thinking about flashing some also, but I'm a little bit scared of it - I don't know, which one is compatible and which isn't (nowhere is written if is custom ROM built for 2/16, 3/16, SingleSIM, DualSIM... variant). I need Moto Gestures feature (really useful thing for me) also, but don't know, if any custom ROM supports it. Do you know about any which will not cause brick (or hard brick) if I will flash it? Thx in advance.
Btw, sorry for bad English, but it's not my native language. Greetings from little big country - Slovakia.

you can do the following - warning it will erase everything on internal storage including photos music downloads documents etc - backup to sd card or laptop first if you want to keep these things
put phone into fastboot mode and connect to laptop
In a terminal/command prompt window assuming you have fastboot installed type the following
Code:
fastboot erase userdata
When you restart your phone it will be like the first time you switched it on (albeit with upgraded firmware version)
LineageOS supports moto gestures - For me they all work except shake to open camera app but you can set it to open with a double press of the power button
Flashing a custom rom designed for your phone will not hard brick it as it will never touch the bootloader so you will always be able to enter fastboot mode
Of course you can soft brick which means it either bootloops or you cant access recovery if you don't follow the correct process but you can solve that just by repeating the process correctly
All right, I will give it a try at evening (not enough time right now). So If I will do the fastboot command...
Code:
fastboot erase userdata
...what will happen? Is it the same procedure as factory reset + wipe cache?

yes but it also wipes everything on internal storage data partition
A reset + wipe cache will format data but not user data (things that are stored on internal storage such as pictures music documents downloads)
It does not format system or anything else
Thank you, it helped a lot! :highfive:
EDIT: what's difference between erase and format in fastboot? Would something bad happen if i do format command instead of erase?

Iv no idea - it will either give an error unknown command or do something
erase userdata is the correct use
Hello,
I have the same phone and like to download the stock rom first before flashing a custom one (RR e.g.). I can't find anywhere a download for this version's custom rom yet. Is there any way to save the stock rom out of the still unmodified phone?
Thanks for your help!
Bro.. check this.. npps is for xt 1676 ( Europe, Turkey ) and npp is for xt 1677 ( India) . Both are dual sim 3gb version phones.. just may be customization difference. Hopefully all modem bands may work.
Npps or xt 1676 unfortunately dont have version above 25.137-15 ( which is an older firmware from what u have ) , so never flash it.
But npp have higher version 72/76/82.
Just in case u are not confident enough avoid gpt, and bootloader flashing.
Btw.. if you have messed up ur bootloader ( cant boot into fastboot) .. i think give these files a try.. btw.. you have nothing to loose since u have messed up pretty bad with bootloader.
This is the only last try till Oreo upadate ( if moto ever release it for g5)
Btw.. if u get successful.. please share.
https://www.clangsm.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=482933
---------- Post added at 02:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:16 PM ----------
And if u are worried about modem ( which may cause wifi /signal issue) avoid flashing modem or try flashing old modem from npps25.137-15 ( the file is available in same directory) you can use the modem file only for flashing )
I mean.. first flash the complete npp25.137-76 ( i choose that file because its non branded ) .. after successful boot, check wifi and sim.
If everything is ok.. use the same..
If you have problems with wifi or sim..
Use modem file from npps 25.137-15 and flash modem partion only.
Or completely avoid all trial and error methods. And just flash npp25-137-76 with out flashing modem , bootloader, gpt, - its just like flashing a new kernel and system.. everything except system and kernel will remanin the same.
The method works only if u have a working bootloader. If its not there.. there is no way to trial and error things.. till u courageously flash the bootloader and gpt from npp version..
Hope you will get something.

Currently.. my xt1676 is working with August security update ( npps - 25.137-72-4 ) rooted, unlocked.. i am trying hard to mess it up.. unfortunately twrp backup helps me to unbrick few times!! But soon or later i will manage to mess it up!!!???
Only then i will give these files a try... ( Or atlest till pixel 2 comes to retailer near by) . For now this is my backup phone after selling s7 edge.
This is just 2 weeks old.. and i manage to mess its os 5-6 times till now.. so i think i will be joining your club soon

Hi. Sorry for bumping an old thread but I thought it was better then to make a new one.
I bought this phone a few days ago and it had NPPS25.137-72-4 when delivered. Been trying to read up a bit on this device but since I'm used to samsung, it all takes a while to figure things out
Got it unlocked/rooted fine, but I want to make sure I have something to fall back on in case of trouble.
I've been searching for this fw without any luck. Any chance some one got it and can share it?
NPPS25.137-72-4
Or if anyone can suggest a different one that could work. ( I don't really understand the fw names yet)
Thanks in advance.

There's no flash able zips of stock ROMs here unfortunately. Weird for me too since I was Samsung through and through. Take a back up of your own ROM via TWRP or you can use the debloated stock ROM by Fedray on the ROM forum.

Thanks for your answers.Thats actualy first thing I did after flashing twrp to have a clean backup of system and boot.
I also made a few partition backups in terminal, like persist, oem, modem and a few others so hopefully I'm fine.
Do you guys know if I can take stock recovery from lower version fw in case I would ever need it again?
I highly doubt I ever will, but just in case
Edit: If anyone needs a system/boot backup of this fw, just let me know and I'll upload it.

They did something different for dload on this phone.
It needs special firmware to dload
We found that service firmware for l21c432 will get the phone working again, then use hwota to restore correct region firmware

Service rom is different then fullOTA.
From the screenshot you have . The fullota-mf-pv examples are Oreo and the ones without the pv are nougat.
This separation is not allways Oreo/ nougat, but only in your example.
HWOTA is a method to force install fullOTA files that uses a modified stock recovery that bypasses version verifications.
Here is link.--( there is other hwota too. One that has more batch file script and incorporate bootloader unlock and device rebranding. )

@mrmazak Thank you very much! L21 firmware worked and I am running it without any issue.
What difference does it make as now I am using BND-L21 firmware instead of BND-AL10?
Acc. to me this Rom is better as there are very few bloatware installed as compared to AL10 and everything seems to work fine.
In About Phone only things changed are-
Build number
Baseband Version
Model and imei are same as before.
Does i really need to install AL-10 firmware again?

As long as the phone is working normally, I think you should be fine . But further updates will , of course, need to be manually done . Like this install was.

Never saw that before, unless your phone in C00 or C01 (China region)
Try factory reset?
Then skip wifi and Google account, but set a lock screen pin or pattern. See if that helps.
Then share screenshot of "about phone". Block out imei number though.
Also which service ROM did you use. How did you use it. Did you change method from as described, did it flash both parts? The update and hw_update?

Actually, my phone is a BND-L34 (Mate SE)
Performed a factory reset 3 times. Third time I set up a pattern but the option still hasn't appeared.
I used the ROM in the link you provided in your previous post (had no idea there were any others, as I haven't been able to find anything else).
Didn't change anything. Extracted the dload folder to my external SD card, powered on while holding all three buttons and the update itself went just fine. Also I'm not sure how to tell whether or not it flashed both parts.
Everything else SEEMS to be working. Haven't poked around or anything, nor have I tried my SIM card. However the only issue I'm coming across (that I actually care about at the moment) is the inability to enable OEM unlocking (not grayed out or anything. It's just completely missing).

Then after the reset and boot up , back to fastboot to flash TWRP.
Then use hwota, and best to go with probably b330,

I did see one time the issue with unknown model and strange build number. And hwota did not help going from emui 8 to emui 8. But downgradeing from emui 8 to emui 5 fixed it. Then update back to 8 went normal

Actually, installing the update files for emui 8 while on emui 8 worked perfectly! At least I think. Everything looks normal so far, even the model number and build number

Sounds good.
So now let me ask what was the issue you had to recover from. And I assume you had the unlock code already?
I ask because yesterday I was helping someone , also with mate se. They are trying to get uock code from DC unlock, but need to downgrade first. I had guided a downgrade this way before to get unlock codes , and it went just fine. But when you had the unknown model number, it makes me wonder what caused it, and of it could be avoided for the guy I'm helping now.

As much as I would love to help, I really don't know what caused the unknown model number.
The reason I needed to restore my phone was because I had originally gotten the Oreo update through firmware finder because I never officially got the OTA (even though my IMEI was approved according to FF). The update seemed to have worked alright but one day my camera suddenly stopped functioning completely. Reboot didn't fix it. So I decided to factory reset it but that only ended in a bootloop.
I could have used TWRP to fix it but for some reason it would not boot into TWRP, so I opted for triggering an OTA installation through stock recovery but that didn't work (this was before I knew of the service ROM). So then I tried reflashing TWRP but I couldn't because I forgot to enable USB debugging. I knew I was done for at that point. And stupid me added to the problem by relocking the bootloader (I don't remember why I decided to do that).
So I hadn't touched the thing in months up until today to see if there was any new methods for restoring a bricked device. That's when I found some threads pointing towards a service ROM. And here I am.
Sorry that I couldn't provide any specific details. Some things I just forgot and some things I don't even know the cause of (like the camera malfunctioning and the bootloop after factory resetting).

Downgrade to emui 5

I got a Huawei mate se and didn't realize that allowing it to update to Android o would block the bootloader unlock tool. Is there anyway to downgrade my firmware so I can unlock my bootloader?

There is a roll-back ROM on firmware finder. As long as it shows your IMEI as approoved, it should install.
That's the nice clean way.
There is a dirty ( possibly dangerous way ) by using the nougat service ROM. That ROM is for bnd-L21, so not sure how an unlocked bootloader will handle it. It has worked on unlocked before.

I have been attempting to use firmware finder but I can't wrap my head around actually pushing the update. I heard you need an outdated version of hisuite but no one specifies what version. Any help is appreciated =)

Insttall firmware finder from playstore.
In the app select the "hamburger" menu, from top left corner. Select instructions. Either watch videos, or read the text guides

The mobile app as far as I can tell doesn't work on newer versions of android. They even have a disclaimer mentioning that the app only works for older devices now.

You are not on 8.1, the app can work.
But I was only referencing the app for the guides linked inside.
You should be able to use it to flash b330. Which should work in DC

My bad I am on 8.0 to be specific bnd-l34 8.0.0.341(c567) and as much as I've tried I can not get it to work on the phone following along on the videos. They are using the app on emui 5.0 not 8.0. It doesn't work anymore on 8.0
All there videos revolve around emui 5.0 or lower. It stopped working with 8.0

Because the locked bootloader, you can only use the firmwares that are approoved.
Chances are , the only one that's approoved is the b330
And if not , then only option is the service-rom. Followed by dc-unlock, then the hwota and correct ROM
It has been done.
There should be confirmation back in the mate thread somewhere.

I'm searching. I know i have recommended this process many times, and got many success responses. But I am striking out in finding threads with confirmed responses.
This search only shows 4 found matches for the search info. One does fit real good, but the author has made it sound , not real credible.

This post you made here sounds doable.
This service rom so far has been only thing we found that will load with three button method (dload)
But it is not a full rom to keep on device. It needs you to follow up with flashing fullOTA of your correct version after.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid...83647474828964
1. Unzip download
2. copy the dload folder to root of sdcard
3. power on phone holding all three buttons
4. After phone finishes and reboots, unlock frp and bootloader, if needed
5. Use Huru or HWOTA to flash correct firmware for your model/ region.
Enlighten me what is huru or hwota? If I were to flash this does it boot up into android or is it non functional?

Yes, this should leave you able to boot. And with build level that should allow DC unlocked to give you the code.
Remember like I said before this is kind of a dirty way around and 'could' have issues unknown. Like what if DC does not give you a code, you would then be stuck . (Though you are stuck now)
Huru and hwota are very similar. They both use TWRP to give custom flashing control.
Hwota uses modified stock recovery to flash full ota files.
Huru repacks full ota files so that TWRP can flash them.
Since doth start with TWRP , bootloader unlock is needed.

Just spent most of the morning going back and forth with someone else with mate see, and they just did restored his device with the service ROM.
I do not now what he was restoring from, but he ended up with "unknown model" and default build number of 8.0.0.46
This is because of (probably) some data corrupt issue making the flash go bad. But he was able to run the ROM and unlock boooader.
Difference is he already had his unlock code.

Have you seen this guide?
It is for "official" hisuite roll-back
I have not rolled back so do not know it it works though.(I checked with my device, it shows no downgrade available)
I know the roll-back firmwarm listed on firmware finder was listed as "bond" and not "bnd". So this means not available "officially"
