HTC brick - HTC Desire 616

my HTC is noramlly stuck in logo, bootloader is locked, device is S-ON but I have access to recovery-mode.
In recovery mode the device is not accesible by Windows, Google and HTC drivers. I have tried the lastest version of all of them. I suspect the problem is caused because it cannot mount the os. If I try to wipe data to factory reset I have a "mount error".
In sideload mode, drivers are working and device is detected but the signature prevents me to install any updates.
Can anyone help me? Explain what is going on? anything...

I have finally a solution but I need your help guys. I need the images of all partitions (userdata, cache, system, expdb, rootm, blinkfeed, ebr2,logo, misc, sec_ro,seccfg,protect_s, protect_f, nvram, pro_info, ebr1, mbr, preloader) which is not a custom ROM but essentialy it is a new phone. I need to download them from someone who has the same firmware d616w and with his bootloader unlocked(I might be wrong about this last sentence).
Then I will flash all of them on my device, I will turn my device into S-OFF if it is not already and manually change IMEI, MID, S/N and other phone infos. Hopefully it will work, otherwise I m gonna use it as a brick for constructions ahah.

[Q] Verizon HTC One formatted system

I'm really stuck - been trying to fix this all day.
I was tired, while trying to do a factory reset, I wiped the system. I can use fastboot and adb, although I get warnings about not be able to find the device. the folders are not mounting.
From all the reading I've been doing, I believe I need to select the correct RUU and re-format the system. Then, I should be able to side-load an image file.
However, I'm stuck - either the instructions I'm finding are linking to missing files or tools, or they just aren't working.
Can anyone help??
Thanks in advance.
Whats the phones current status? S-on/off, locked/unlocked, hboot version? What version of windows is on the pc your using?
you are correct
i also faced same problem few day back and you are correct that you have to flash corecct RUU in fastboot mode and you will be able to mount an external storege through otg cable.try this and i am sure you will come from problem

Please help - seemingly bricked M9 after attempting to restore to stock

Hi all,
I'm in desperate need of help here, I purchased an already modified HTC One M9 (which i wasn't aware of when purchased) and have attempted to flash it back to Stock.
well i've made a real mess of it and I really don't understand what to do now if someone could help it would be greatly appreciated. as the phone currently stands:
I've somehow removed the TWRP and it boots into standard recovery
Its been wiped as a pre-req of a guide i followed to install the stock image so it wont boot at all
I can't get my PC to see it when i boot into Download mode, so ADB and fastboot do not see it.
I'm tearing my hair out and really wondering where i can go from here.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.
Several things that would be helpful to know, if you can:
About your phone
- your phone's carrier variant (AT&T, T-Mobile, developer, et cetera)
- what you can boot into (recovery, bootloader, download)
- are you S-ON or S-OFF (boot into bootloader, see upper left hand corner)
About your computer
- what drivers have you installed on your PC
- whether or not HTC Sync is installed on your PC
Depending on what you can boot into, an RUU is your safest option - you'll need to download the RUU that corresponds to your phone's carrier variant. Barring that, if you can boot into download mode, you should be able to install TWRP - which may open up some other options.
The carrier is a UK model unlocked factory so i'd imagine just the standard EU model.
I can get into Recovery which is the standard Android one, Bootloader and Download mode
S-ON which is what confuses me, alot of these posts are regarding S-OFF devices
UPDATE: I managed to figure out i was running 2.10.401.1 so i downloaded the corresponding file for it. Formatted an SD Card to FAT32 and put the file on named 0PJAIMG.zip
It looked like it was working but failed on System.img, the device rebooted and now its stuck on white HTC screen with the Green HTC logo.
I can't turn it off, its just stuck there, any ideas?

I'm sorry for the late reply. I hope you've had better luck in the meantime. If not, you can force a reboot by pushing and holding the power button & volume up.
If you can reboot, see what you can boot into. From what little research I've attempted on your carrier's software offerings, I'm not seeing an executable RUU (ie, installable from Windows). If there is one, that is by far the most dependable way to restore your phone to stock condition.
If you're intent on using the SD card install method (or it is the only way), you might consider ensuring that it is a reliable card. A read failure in the middle of a firmware update might explain the install issues you're having.
Beyond that, I'm afraid I don't have any further advice; I've reached the end of my experience! But if you still need help, please post an update and let us know what is going on.
Get a fresh SD card and pop TWRP or CWM on it along with the stock image. Automatic recovery and 3 wipe there we go. I only got boot loops when I was using a corrupted SD. Also, try both the ones with the underscores replacing spaces and regular names. One of them seem to be a decoy, as far as I can see.

That file is corrupted and shouldn't be used. You can try reviving your phone by using this RUU service since there is no working 2.10.401.1 RUU you could use.

HELP! restoring stock rom on Verizon galaxy S5 (G900V)

First of all to admins..., I hope I'm posting this in the right section. If I'm not, please move it or direct me.
I have a Verizon S5 - G900V that is soft bricked and I have been pulling my hair out trying to restore stock rom to it via Odin. It fails every time. I have tried so many versions - some fail with aboot, which I understand means that th version I'm flashing is older and I can't downgrade. Fair enough. The only one that seems to work is G900VVRU2DPD1 (which shows up as the version in recovery mode) but it fails at loading the SYSTEM stage. In Odin on Windows it shows fail (AUTH) an on t device it shows secure check fail: system
Reactivation lock on the device in download mode shows OFF And I can't boot into the OS to verify that.
I have all the necessary device drivers installed in windows.
The device, I believe, is not rooted.
Using kies doesn't work because I asks for for device serial which I d know and does n show under the battery (only shows IMEI an model) and using the Verizon repair Assistant doesn't even see the device
I have wiped cache partition and did factory reset from recovery mode.
I have done exhaustive Google searches an been on many xda dev posts for weeks and not finding anything that works.
I've also tried pushing with adb sideload....didnt work.
The only thing I can think of, and think I might have read somewhere, is that my problems are caused by a locked bootloader. I anyone here able to attest to that?
One other thing...in recovery mode, if I select mount system, it gives errors in red e:Failed to mount /system (invalid argument).
Any experts here able to help me get passed this to successfully flash stock rom (or any rom even modified) back into this device and end my madness?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Bump
any experts out there able to help me on this one?

I have no clue of what just happened

Hello everybody this morning I've encountered something very strange, I woke up and saw a unusual page on my phone that said "Your phone is encrypted" it told me to put in the passcode that is used on the lock screen to DECRYPT my data when I did so the phone without needing any time to think told me that the decrypt of the data was unsuccessful and that the only way is to factory reset
Now the thing is that I have twrp installed so the phone didn't even reboot to recovery it just rebooted and the same page appeared again telling me to input my passcode
What I've attempted to do is to flash the ruu for my device from sd but the phone doesn't see the file
I've tried to flash a different recovery as twrp was unable to mount any partition except the system partition and the SD partition
I will try to flash cm12 from twrp and see how that goes but until then does anyone have any clue of what happened with my device?
Update: twrp cannot boot the system partition either so now I guess I'm officially bricked
Update 2: Looking at bootloader it sees the ruu on the sd but skips it as it says "No image or wrong image!" under each one except 0PKVIMG.zip
Anyone?
I think you can run RUU only from pc, might be wrong tho as I've run only 1 RUU in my life
Have you tried restoring a backup of your current rom? If you don't have one you can also try one from here (read instruction tho, as you need to same cid as your phone)
Can you use the phone at all? Like go past the pin screen? In settings > security you can disable it (i think its there)
Edit: This has happened before
Hi,
it has recently happened to my mom's phone as well. I can't boot into recovery. It just boots straight to the OS and asks for the encryption key. I've tried to reload the stock recovery image, but it failed with wrong signature message. I've also tried unlocking the bootloader with my htcdev bin file, but it doesn't work anymore. I've tried the RUU that I previously used to go back to stock, but it fails with wrong signature as well. It appears the phone is completely bricked. BTW, The phone was relocked, S-On and with stock recovery.
I'm afraid this is a new ransomware, because before that happened my mom said something about message asking her to make a payment to unlock the phone... Is it possible those dbags were able to swap the certificate?

Bricked?! Help

Hi guys (and gals).
Looking for assistance.
Will try and keep this short and simple, but basically my phone is unable to boot and gets stuck in a loop. This happened after having to hard reboot the phone after my daughter enetered kid mode on the latest ICE Rom.
I initially chose to run a custom rom after various attempts to update my phone to nougat via an ota, which was failing all the time despite another recent carrier update to fix the issue.
Unfortuantely I was hasty in doing so and never took note of my cid/mid information and running the commands via adb or fastboot won't returns anything... I'm a bit stuck.
As it stands:
Softare status: Modified
Unlocked
S-ON
I have access to recovery mode in the form of TWRP 3.1.0-0. Any attempts to install a rom fail at various stages (various roms) and any attempts to wipe and reformat also fail with "Failed to mount 'storage'", "Failed to mount 'cache'", data etc. etc.
If I attempt to boot to download mode I get a message stating 'Failed to boot to download mode'.
I looked to try and reformat using adb and pushing ext4fs but it failed. Equally I tried to work out which RUU I need to try and go back to a factory image but I'm unsure which file or img I need.
Could it be a nand issue? If it helps the phone was from EE in the uk and was running on the most recent software version prior to the nougat update.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks.
