Your post made me search similar solutions like yours. The solution is simple , free and effective.I took a cotton bud and soaked it in olive oil (the best there is....Greek ) and pushed it to the white gap surrounding the glass.Gaps dissapeared !!

So , i also found this solution is better use on new glass screen protector . If tempered glass screen used many days ago and the white gap out , and then you use my solution let it dissapear .But ,one day passed , the white gap will be show again .So ,it is better used on new tempered glass screen protector .
How about your solution , also have such problem?

What abou the gaps in your presented glass from amazon? I now have mofi with cover 100% of screen but dont like oleophobic coating theres not at all, every finger visible and including glue is also not perfect lot of dust under edges by time, better one was in cafelle glass pack (also not perfect glass because small gaps but oleophobic works well) so next question how long is durable the solution with oil?

To be honest , it is better use on new phone screen . the white edge will be come back within 180 days If the phone already used long time ago ,and then you also still need use white edge

after te 180 days, can i use the white liquid once again to make the white edges disappear?

Anyone figured out what oil this is?
when I found out about this, I decided to try with a very fine sewing machine oil myself, but as the oil progressed it kind made the protector unstick to the screen ( you could see from edge to center clear (the oil), then a fine line/bubble showing some colored reflection like you see on motor oil on the surface of water ( air), then clear again (tempered glass adhesive), as i lifted to try to fill these gaps with more oil, it diseccated the glass even further, creating larger bubbles.
After seeing this I removed the protector and washed it with rubbing alcohol ( cant find this model here, so i was forced to reuse it ), and applied it soaked with alcohol. the glass sled until it dried out a bit after a few hours. ( its cool for fine tuning position anyways)
Then I got a tiny clear bag from a internet seller and to my amazement it worked great!
It filled the gaps and merged with the adhesive instead of cancel it out creating more bubbles.
Can we figure out what kind of oil/solution is this or another that works? its been two days already and there's no sign of the oil moving away or dissecating the protector away from the screen like the sewing machine oil did.
I'd like to find out a DIY solution that works great, because I tried to buy this in like 20 shops in my town and most dont even know what it is or if it even exists, and buying them online is kind of expensive as it is just a couple of drops on mystery oil.
Can you post what you tried and if it worked in the long run?
Maybe wd-40 has something in it that can make it work? or vaseline?
I've seen youtube videos saying oilve oil but I thin it might degrade or something on the long term, so probably mineral oil is better cause or eternal shelf life.

Samsung screen protector

Picked up the Samsung Screen Protector yesterday - knew it was a plastic one not tempered glass, but after experiencing issues with the tempered glass protectors on my wife's S7 Edge I thought I'd just go with the one Samsung sold.
Unfortunately I'm not happy with it at all - looked fine on the phone by itself, but kept lifting up on the edges as soon as I put a case on it (Spigen Slim Armor)
So given the choice of screen protector or case - I think I'll go with case.
Even when I pushed the edges down while the case was on it still kept lifting - this is what it looked like after an hour in my pocket:

So if you're considering the Samsung branded screen protector - beware.
Shoot, I literally just ordered one. About to cancel. Thanks for the heads-up.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S8+
I got one of these as well. Took it off after a day because it looked awful. Currently running naked which makes me nervous
Nothing was available when I preordered the phone. So I ordered the Liquid Nano stuff from Amazon. It's supposed to fill in any of the imperfections in the glass and help prevent cracks and scratches. So far so good, but it hasn't been a week yet. I'm a little skeptical but I haven't seen any screen protectors that look worth a damn. I don't believe we'll ever see a good curved glass protector, one with adhesive on all sections of the glass. I will say the liquid nano seems to repel skin oils really well and it says it'll last 2 years. I'll give it a month before I say it's good or not.

Where did you buy it?
Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Bought this too. It's fully compatible with the Ringke Slim case since it doesn't lift around the edges. The only issue I've had with this screen protector is that the edges seem to collect dust - after 2 days, it looks like there's a thin white border all around. At least it doesn't lift with my case.
The Suprecool Screen Protector for S8 Plus in itself is great, I cannot even feel it, and it feels like it will be at least some form of protection, I have yet to drop it, and don't really feel like testing my Phone.
Can clearly see that it's your case peeling the protector, get a new case that doesn't lift the protector off, apply it correctly and you will have no issues.
Im using the same protector but with the clear case from Samsung wich doesn't peel the protector like yours is doing, no issues, ill take one pic tomorrow.
I ended up getting a pack of these after I posted on April 24th and I was able to successfully install the first one flawlessly and it's still on looking great. No peeling or anything. Wasn't hard to install either. Had a few small bubbles that disappeared within an hour.

I think it's not available in India
Edit:- Here it is.. but I have doubt that it's not genuine because all 38 reviews from out side of India

I use the official Samsung Screen Protector and also use the Alcantara case and have had no problems. In fact, all the cases I've used have had no problems with this screen protector. There is a very slight edge lift on all the edges, but it shouldn't interfere with the screen and it shouldn't continue past the bezels. Mine was installed in the Samsung Store by an employee.

This lip on all the edges was actually my problem, in fact it was a little bit more pronounced on the right edge; but you could feel it clearly when swiping and it obviously collects dust in time, looking more and more terrible....

Hm, that's interesting. It hasn't happened to me... yet. I've had the screen protector for about a month. I'll update if this does happen unless I get some major scratch soon.

I don't know. But it was perfectly aligned and installed by the seller in Samsung Store.....
If you say it didn't raise further from the edges and didn't collect dust in about a month, maybe I'll try another one...
Thanks!
Got this and no issues with it yet. The screen feels more natural (like the actual phone) as opposed to the spigen one i used - which ironically the reason why i changed was because it was lifting after a coupe of hours.
the case is the issue - not the screen protector.
Re the nano liquid - waste of money. Mine slide down my ironing board when I folded it, and gently hit the floor and folded face down onto wood flooring - result was a chip in the middle of the glass. These merely help to keep the screen a little cleaner. Thats all.

at the moment being, I use the Back Cover by Annure it fits perfectly on the MiA1 and doesn't attract fingerprints.. for the Tempered Glass I got a Mocolo Tempered.. black version, which has many disadvantages such as:
1. rainbow tinted on the center screen
2. dotted screen (visible under direct sunlight)
3. it does not cover the whole screen, just the flat part of the screen on MiA1
4. it's prone to fingerprint especially with oily hands / fingers...
other than the above list, I'm confident (for now) that my device is relatively save from harms
I bought one silicone cover for my mi a1. Overall i'm happy but i have a big con: Being the cover transparent, the light of the flash is retained in the corner and makes the photos with flash with a big ammount of light where the flash is located. I have to removed the cover to shot pictures with flash.

I've tried a few different screen protectors and so far they all suck for the reasons you listed. Regardless of what "brand" you buy...I'm pretty sure they are coming from the same manufacturer regardless of whose name is on the packaging. Fancier the packaging...the higher the price. I'm using my phone with a slim case and no screen protector.
Try Nillkin Amazing H
Nillkin Amazing H+ Pro is "no go" for almost all phones lately (Nillkin glass quality dropped so low these days) .
But the classic Amazing H (0,33mm) without 2,5D is working great for me. It's covering exactly the viewable part of display, leaving black frames of the display uncovered. And that I'm OK with, since they are covered by dark silicone back cover anyway.
I just ordered two covers: a NKOBEE (Cotton Cloth + Silicone Soft TPU) and a CAFELE (Ultra thin soft TPU silicone) for my Xiaomi Mi A1 / Mi 5x. In about two weeks time I will post my opinion about these pretty cheap but good looking covers.
In the mean time I have a question. Does your A1/5x came with a plastic cover preinstalled on the screen? I was trying to put the blue one, which comes inside the original package, and notice some small bobbles that didn't go away which make me realize that preinstalled extra layer. Do you guys keep that plastic layer on your phones?

I'm taking a risk for the moment but I have had four smartphones with Gorilla Glass and none was scratched when I stop using them...

The second one is exactly what i was looking for !! Many thanks to you !! :good:

Well, I had the same screen protector (from different brand, but I think that the manufacturer is always the same) and thought that the dotted screen was a problem of the A1 Display [emoji23]
That was because I read that issue also on XDA!
Also, the prone to fingerprint was always there.
Someone has an hint for a good screen protector that doesn't retain fingerprint and, last but not least, covers all the panel?
I originally had a glass screen protector on but all around the edge didnt stick down due to the curved glass. I was then recommended a protector which has a black sticky border around the edge which sticks down to the curved edge. Works really well, although in one or two corners i had a bubble i couldnt get stuck down. I then watched youtube and found the trick with putting some cooking oil into the bubble and now its perfect!
sandstone cover, amazing grip
What is sense of this thread at all? To help shubham8 earn some money off xda users? Because all his links consist affiliate platform tags, you'll buy - he will earn on you. Besides, it's his own view only, as per mine, 4 of 5 cases are piece of ugly PVC.
I don' see here any hints on really top cases. Like this one and this one, for example.
Some time later there may be more even better cases, but this ugly list will keep being "top", really?

Best Tempered Glass for S10+ right now?

I just got my Samsung Galaxy S10+ and the Whitestone Dome Glass for it on Monday and I gotta say, it's actually the best tempered glass I have used... First of all, this is not sponsored or anything, this is my first post on XDA Forums and i wanted to start off with something helpful as i saw people asking some questions regarding it. I have been using this tempered glass screen protector for 4-5 days now and i can't believe how amazing it is! The installation definitely requires patience if you want the result to be perfect so i watched an installation video on YouTube by a YouTuber named Thao Huyn (she covers Samsung only i guess) for it but it seems like the Whitestone guys have their own video now with some better instructions. My Installation went perfect and the end result was amazing. The Tempered Glass is 100% transparent (no whitish tint or rainbow effect like other cheap ones which have glow just on the ugly black bezels) and it feels like it's not even there! The Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensor works just as good as it worked with the phone's pre-applied screen protector which i mistakenly chipped off while placing the phone in the Transparent case i received inside the box (Yes, Indian S10 Variants get a hard transparent case inside the box of the phone). The durability of the tempered glass can only be tested if i drop my phone once or twice (which i hope doesn't happen lol!). I don't think there are any other tempered glasses that support the Ultrasonic Fingerprint sensor but i hope we get more choices soon... If you have any questions regarding the Whitestone Dome Glass, please feel free to reply below and ill try to answer! I hope you found this helpful and I will make sure i keep doing posts like this on XDA Forums ! Images:

UPDATE: I received for the Note10+ as well. Same quality, still amazing. Able to use the Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner.
I don't like the cutout for the camera!
It's going to collect dust and other nasties over time and look terrible.
Mine came with a piece of dust on the inside of the protector that I didn't notice until I watched the glue spread. I have a small air bubble in the middle of screen because of it. I ordered a "warranty replacement" for $10.
I also noticed that when you drop the screen onto the glue, it doesn't fall into right into place. I looked at the camera cutout as the glue was filling in and I noticed that it was off center. I was able to move it in time but I never saw this as a problem in the 7-8 installation videos I watched.

I also noticed that when you drop the screen onto the glue, it doesn't fall into right into place. I looked at the camera cutout as the glue was filling in and I noticed that it was off center. I was able to move it in time but I never saw this as a problem in the 7-8 installation videos I watched.

That's certainly weird... My installation process went just like the video and no problems with the camera cutout even though I was a bit scared...

Maybe the bottom of the protector wasn't placed in the caddy right.
The dust thing is annoying. It was a speck that must have fell on screen when adding glue and I didn't notice it because cross bar glue thing was blocking my view. Oh well. Can't wait to try again.

Yeah... I did not want to take any chance with the installation so what I did was I took my steam iron and kinda spread the steam over the place where I would install the screen protector.... What this does is that it will make all the dust particles settle down for a few minutes so I did not have the dust problem which others might face.
Hi Ishan! I am from Hyderabad. Where did you get the protector from? Did you buy from Amazon.com for $50? Or is it available in India by any chance?
I finally got mine on and somewhat right wasted the first tube of adhesive because a bubble never cleared .. took that off cleaned up redid it now I have a small bubble top and bottom I can live with

I think they wanted to prevent a bubble from being over the camera in the event you didn't get a perfect install.

Dust is removable. Sure, it's a pain but the bubble is there until you remove the screen protector. One company does make one that goes all the way over the camera, it was shared on this forum a few days ago.

Wana bet it will go under screen on that spot?In which case it wont be so removable..
We will see after month or 2 of use...
I've scratched my factory film so the whitestone goes on tomorrow
I'll take that bet. I had a Whitestone for 6 months on a note 9 with a cutout around the camera. Flawlessly blocked dust under the glass. Due to the adhesive NOTHING goes under the glass when it's cured. I dip my phone regularly in water to clean it. Never ever ever had an issue. They're 1000% better than Zagg or 9ther non adhesive screens. I'll never go back.

There are some reddit posts that say when you do this, it increases the chances of the edges popping up.
I put on my 2nd screen a couple nights ago. Way better installation than my first one with the dust.
After resetting my prints, I was amazed how fast it opened up. However, I've noticed that in the last hours, the misreadings have increased.

Man, Me too! Like 3 days into using the phone I realized where I swipe with my thumb, I have put a crap load of scratches on it. WITH MY THUMB!!! Holy cow, a finger scratched the screen protector! I didn't think my calluses were that bad! I plan to order a Whitestone Dome soon.
Hey guys,
Bought one of these from a local shop. Not bad at all much better than a stupid one with a punch hole for the fingerprint i tried before and removed it in one day. No touch issues or unlocking and simple to install. And, it looks really good perfect fit not visible at all. I will update you guys if I notice any issues with it in the future.

[REVIEW] UltimateShield Tempered Glass Screen Protector OP7 Pro

This will be a short review which hopefully helps OP7 Pro owners wether they should buy the tempered glass protector from Ultimate Shield or not. Please take your time and read the whole review
PRODUCT PAGE
https://www.ultimateshield.co.uk/products/oneplus-7-pro-tempered-glass-screen-protector
This might be the time to add that Ultimate Shield did not tell me to write this, I bought the screen protector because I have used their OP5 tempered glass in the past and was satisfied with that one. In case the pictures don't show on your screen, I've attached them in a zip file down below.
What do you get?
For £11.99 (~14€ / ~15$) and free worldwide you get one screen protector, instructions, dust removal stickers (which I forgot when taking the picture), a microfiber cloth and a wet cloth.
I bought it because I wanted a tempered glass screen protector which is curved so I can protect the whole display including the curved edges.

What about applying it?
The instructions are basically useless, since we're dealing with a screen protector which sticks to the phone with the adhesive side, so no bubbles, no "vacuum" or anything like that, as long as the display has been cleaned before nothing can go wrong, just make sure that the side slim black bar is alined with the top of the phone. Oh and you should remove the preapplied screen protector before putting this one on the display. After that it is important to apply preassure on the border of the screen protector to make it stick, and this is where things get critical, at least that is what happened to me. Even though it looks like I've prefectly placed the glass on top of the display some parts of the protector simply won't stick, or at least stick for a few minutes. I have added some photos where you can see a tiny gap. Keep in mind that I have applied A LOT of pressure on those parts, more than enough. The screen protector has rounded corners and a curved edge, it covers about 99 percent of the display.
What about colours and sharpness of the display with the screen protector?
After applying the screen protector I haven't noticed any kind of weird colour shifting or rainbow effect. It still looks as sharp as before, but due to reflections the edge of the display has some minor rainbow effect. I only notice that at a specific angle and when the background is white. Oh and it doesn't seem to cut off any part of the screen.
What about the fingerprint reader?
After deleting the old fingerprints and adding new ones with the screen protector applied the fingerprint scanner works 99/100 times, it might take a split second longer than without it, but I didn't have any issues.
What about the touchscreen and gestures?
This is where I got frustrated. After using the phone with the tempered glass I instantly noticed that the touchscreen wasn't as responsive as it was before. "alright", I said to myself, "It is completely normal that it feels different now". Unfortunately this is why I would personally not buy this screen protector again. I had to apply more pressure than ususal when tapping on an icon and so on. Sometimes the touchscreen didn't register even though my finger clearly touched the glass. This was very annoying when using the keyboard, in almost every sentence at least one or two characters where simply missing because the touchscreen wasn't as responsive as before. Same story with gestures, you need a lot more pressure and when swping up or down in order to open the app drawer or notifications it sometimes works but sometimes it takes up to three tries in order to get the gesture to work. In comparison, without the tempered glass screen protector I had no issues at all.
SUMMERY
Applying it was easy but when I did it it didin't stick as good as I hoped it would. The tempered glass screen protector doesn't really change colours, which is a good thing. THe touchscreen experience was comparable with one of those older smartphones where you had to use more force and it wasn't as accurate. Overall, I can not recommend it for the price, unless you use the touchscreen with a lot of force. If you think that I didn't apply it correctly feel free to "call me out" in the comment section and tell me how you would have done it.
UPDATE
Since the tempered glass didn't stick very well anyway I went ahead and carefully removed it and moved it about 1mm downward. Unfortunately the touchscreen is still not responsive enough to use the keyboard without any issues which is why I contacted Ultimate Shield directly via Email. (still waiting for them to reply)
FINAL UPDATE
They answered and after looking at the images I send them they said that it might be faulty because according to them the black adhesive should stick much better than it did in my case. They were kind enough to give me a refund! If you bought one and had a much better experience please tag me so I can quote your opinion!
Probably cus it's not full adhesive. We need to wait for Whitestone or something like that

Probably, I think my application was good, I guess the adhesive can't do the job when it comes to the curved edges...
Too bad OP didn't release one at launch. I assume they will down the road like they did with the 6T.

Not trying to be funny but was there an indication on the protector as to where the top/bottom was?

Well the flap of the protective foil that was on the the glass was probably the indicator.
That and the fact that the bottom part of teh black frame was way wider than the upper part...
About 2mm of black adhesive on the buttom and 1mm on the top...
EDIT:
It wouldn't make sense to aline the the thicker black line with the thin bezel
I've sent UltimateShield an email concerning this issue.
I've ordered same protector for delivery tomorrow, getting the phone today so I'll give it a go, how is it with cases or have you not checked? I've ordered the Ringke Fusion-X too so would hope they'll work together.
Watched this video of the PureGear protector, from XDA fave TK Bay, which looks mucho pricey but seems to play nicely with, at least, official cases.

the glass doen't fully the cover the display, there's about 1 to 1.5mm between the tempered glass and the frame of the phone, I can use the transparent TPU case that came with the phone without any problems
Thank you for your review. I currently have a film on my screen now. I was thinking about purchasing a tempered glass shield for my 7 pro especially since T-Mobile has the Puregear one on sale for 10 bucks off (if I'm not mistaking) but I'm not sure.
I actually ordered the same tempered glass, but I noticed that it wasnt clear and that the black outline on the edges was the adhesive. It doesn't truly embrace the curved screen, but you can use it for the back of your phone. I glued to the back of my 7 Pro with the clear case on. Your phone will look like a beast

interesting approach xD
I'm waiting for this to show up: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RP5KJXV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Seems like a Whitestone clone. Hoping it's decent.
Got one too. Install was super easy but like said in OP, sensitivity gets way worse. I would not recommend.
Do you know if the product is in stock?
Looks like the OP product was replaced by a newer full adhesive version:
https://www.ultimateshield.co.uk/co...us-7-pro-7t-pro-liquid-glass-screen-protector
The screen of my 7Pro looks like new. I never used a screen protector. Just the sandstone hardcase for the back.

OnePlus 8 Screen Protector

MOD EDIT: Spam ads removed
My OP8 came with a screen protector attached and I've put on (for now) the case that was supplied. Does the camera itself need a protector? I've never had one before.

The screen protector film is unbelievably easy to apply with the provided kit and works with the fingerprint scanner.I would highly recommend it!:good: The video that comes with this product is perfect. Hi David,
you recommended the screen protector above for about 5 weeks.
What do you think about this protector after this period of time?
Was the purchase worth it?
Thanks in advance for your answer

I got this screen protector based off his review after trying another screen protector that was absolutely terrible.
I'm my opinion the installation process alone makes it well worth it. Makes it virtually impossible to misalign it. Add that it comes with a rear glass and camera protector and it was a no brainer for me.
As far as the screen protector itself, to me it feels like a thick, soft plastic. Almost like I can dig my nail into it and pick at it if I tried. But it feels just fine for normal touch inputs and doesn't interfere with the display quality.

Sounds promising, would you recommend this protector (for a long time use) ?
(The original protector is a kind of dust magnet)
Thanks in advance for your answer

I've only been using it for about a week now and so far it feels like it will last a long time. The sides are flush with the curve and doesn't look like it will lift anytime soon. However I forgot to mention that 2 screen protectors come packaged so If this one ever starts to lift or get damaged in any way, I have a replacement.
I know it doesn't have the greatest reviews, but I had success with it and I think it's one of the best film protectors I've tried.

Any good tempered glass screen protectors or Whitestone-like kits yet?

Hello, It seems good, but is the screen protector really efficient compared to a tempered glass? I'm hesitating between this one and an UV tempered glass like Foluu:

If you are just wanting a screen protector and not necessarily a glass one check out the LK screen protector. Super easy to apply, case friendly and feels as good as glass as far as your finger is concerned. Best film screen protector I have used yet.

The issue is always the same with plastic protectors: they will not prevent the screen from shattering when the phone falls. With a glass protector, you have a much greater chance of not having a damaged screen.

I am also a Spigen Tough Armor user.
I would also like to know what will work best with this case.
I had one on it, but it didn't work well with the case and kept lifting at the edges where case meets up to protector.
Any ideas anyone?
Currently installed a nillkin screen protector, it's glass, full adhesive, responsive, good oleophobic coating and feels like the actual screen (fingerprint unlock works, maybe 10% slower)
It comes with an installation template to fit the screen protector perfectly aligned (kinda like a case)
It's also full screen and covers the front facing camera, sensors work perfect . The only thing is it covers maybe 0.1mm of the sides, very very minimal and hardly noticeable it's actually nicer haha
Will post some pics soon, it's a great protector!
