Screen taking alot of battery or am I just new into this? - Google Pixel 2 XL Questions & Answers

Hello guys!
So here am I once again and I can right away tell i'm in love with this phone going from Iphone to this! Had a Iphone 7 and I cant really tell how much I have used compared to this phone but it does still feel like battery is longer in Google pixel but I dont know really, I have a feeling something is odd and I just wanted to ask you guys since you know probably more than me and can probably explain aswell.
Here is the pictures:

So basically as you can see it says I have used my screen for 6 hours that takes around 37% and I do have always lowest brightness aswell (Is that normal)
Also that 1h using Snapchat is taking 23% which I can think is legit because of the camera up and down but however maybe there is something else aswell, like camera 9 min taking 4% feels abit alot?
It took around 16 hours 100 to 1% ish.
Let me know what you guys think if you guys think this is fine or too much drained or just too good!

I think that's pretty reasonable actually. Social media apps with the camera involved are battery suckers. Even texting will use more battery just because of all the inputs and hapetic vibrations it creates.

I'd say that's great battery life. I get like 4.5.

It's good to go... enjoy!

Using a dark wallpaper is good for starters. If your rooted you can use substratum from the play store to install themes. If not rooted you can use substratum and another app called Andromeda. You'll need a pc and a few bucks to get the non root method to work. Search the P2XL forums for substratum and you'll find a ton of info :good:

If you make it that far, these will get you what you want me thinks... I would be willing to bet these are on a lot of phones here. Lol

I think a 1 or 2 second looping light cycle scene would rock, if you can get the loop to be some what seamless, me love you long time!!
The problem with the one available in the market now is the video quality is poor and it plays slow too

There is....it's an app called Video Live Wallpaper, making video your wallpaper does have obvious device performance trade offs but it's not nothing too serious. Check it out.
Thank you. I downloaded the app, but it's not showing on my apps list I deleted LauncherPro to see if that was the issue, but using TW didn't find it either. I've reset and still no luck, yet when I go into AppMonster, it says it's installed, but I can't launch it.
EDIT: Got onto the makers website and figured out that I needed to go into the Live Wallpapers like I did before and go from there. Thanks again.
Kind of got one made. Had to use the download app mentioned in the thread, but i think it came out pretty well.

[Q] Crazy Battery Loss on CM9... help?

Simple man the kernel sucks life out of your phone when custom kernels start flowing so will your battery life.

I solved the problem.
I have three batteries.
Sorry to bring up a dead topic but since these issues are still rampant and there is no "official" fix thread that I know of, I thought I'd post my findings and fixes that I have come acrossed (I take no credit for any of these methods) after taking these steps, my ics battery issues are gone.
Backup anything you don't want to lose.
Do a factory reset from the privacy settings.
Format internal SD AND external SD under storage settings.
Change wifi advanced setting "keep wifi on during sleep" to never.
Turn off display battery percentage under display settings.
That's it! One or more of these methods fixed my issues, I was having next to all of the problems people are having. Including the random massive battery drops mentioned in op.
Also your notification light and battery light could drain as well.

[Q] I need answer to my question.

Hi, I'm new to posting thread. So, I had battery drain problem and I was one of those people who is surfing through the internet trying to find solutions for battery drain problem on Note 4. Yesterday, I took out the cases and battery to clean out the dust. Later, when I put back the battery and turned on my phone, that's when the magic happened. My battery problem was fixed and I was surprised and now when my screen is off it takes about 1-2hrs or MORE to decrease %'s. When I use my phone constantly, it takes 5-9 mins for each % to decrease (WHICH never happened for me.) I charged my phone last night @ 11 PM (04/05/2015) and I still have 68% through moderate use. I still have 1 DAY and 22 hrs left on my battery according to my phone. (Screen time on: 1h 14m 16s). I'm very happy with my phone right now.
Here is my question: Can anyone give me explanation to this? How can just taking out the battery and put it back in can make huge difference?
NOTE: I'm not complaining; in fact, I'm really happy. I'm just curious and a lot of you smart people probably has the answer to my question.
Thank you for reading!

Is my question stupid or something? lmao
When you post to any forum, it's courteous to use an informative subject line. That way, others can tell at a glance whether your topic is one they're interested in learning about or sharing their knowledge of. The subject line you used conveys no information about your subject, so most readers will skip it entirely.

No lol. I literally read it and thought about it, and that picture was what I did. Lol
It's weird to me that pulling the battery would magically improve the battery life. To me, it's normally placebo effect, but if it fixed things, then it's just... odd to me.
Simplest answer; Because pulling the battery can clear some info being retained in memory somewhere. Or it may not have been discharging fast, but the %indicator was not functioning correctly and pulling the battery reset it. Pulling the battery is not exactly the same as a reset.

It's really odd to me as well and that's why I created this thread, which is for explanation. I checked my phone this morning and it said, I had 13 days left according to my phone (Which is freaking crazy and never happened to me in my life.)

[Apk][Share] AccuBattery the best battery life monitor

In the name of GOD

Battery life is probably the most common concern for smartphone users: some are finding it hard to get through a full day on a single charge, others find that after a year or so of use, their battery drains much faster than before, and the issues just keep lining up.
AccuBattery is a relatively new battery life monitor for Android devices (it supports the latest Samsung Galaxy S7s, Google Pixels, and so on) that focuses on accurate battery stats, but also on a research-based suggestion to avoid fully charging your battery.
AccuBattery allows you to set alarm that you actually charge your battery to 80%(Can be modified) and comes with clever tools to let you know when you've reached that level, so that you can unplug. This way, you can get the full 500 cycles(More than 1000, if you charge from 30 to 80 ) out of your battery, until you start to see a noticeable drop in battery life.
I still have my two year old Z2. It still holds battery like a new phone( with slight less capacity due to heat generated due to flashing roms). I used to charge my phone between 25%-80%.

and basically I wanted to ask you guys how has the improvement been for you? Have you noticed any better/worse things?
For me I noticed that Snapchat and Instagram has been taking alot of battery now where I just used 30m of Snapchat taking 17% battery and Instagram 57min taking 11%.
What do you guys think?

I can agree with draining but not with the heat honestly. Since I just do social media often.
I have seen a few reports that Android Auto started working for some users with the Feb update.
Can't say that I've noticed poor battery performance, but that's not to say that it isn't legit.
Overall, feels like the same device I had running the January image, nothing says WOW...
Actually for me, the battery has been better.
I think so Battery its better with the update on My pixel..
The biggest thing for me was the bluetooth connection in may car. I have an LG Watch sport connected to my phone all the time. Before the update, it was like the watch didn't want to let go of the phone, and it would not automatically connect to the car when I got in. I would have to go into the phone, and manually select the car to connect. Then I would have to wait a minute or more before I could play music or make a phone call or the car would tell me it was searching for a phone to connect to, even though the BT light was on indicating a device was connected. The first time I got in my car, after flashing the February update, after I started the car, my phone immediately connected to the car, and Android Auto fired up just like it is supposed to. I was able to listen to music, and make phone calls right away. It has happened like that ever since. I'm so very happy that it works like it's supposed to now. As for battery, it's still great. My 2 XL has always had killer battery life. I can go about a day and a half on one charge. A couple weeks ago, I took a Friday off from work, and was busy moving, so I didn't use my phone a whole lot. I took it off the charge on Friday morning about 8:00 am, and I didn't have to charge it until Sunday around lunch time.
Okay, I'll keep watching my battery... Maybe it was a random temporary decline... Your experiences sound good
When I do these updates, I usually clear the cache for Play services and Google services framework. Maybe it's the flashaholic side of me that always wants to clean flash everything...
Hmmm, I will try now from 100-20%~
Have you guys tried recalibrating the battery? Since a lot of these battery issues people complain about are right after updates. Haven't updated to Feb patch yet tho so I can't comment on battery life.
Just tried 100 to 3% and I would say its been better, Usually I barley came up to 6h and now its 6h and 44 min!
Here below is my apps:
I think battery is excellent, if it wasn't for Maps I know I can get more out of it:
