Can anyone share either npn25.137-93 or npns25.137-93-4 for XT1687 (retus channel, carrier unlocked)? I am trying to restore my device to stock but I am having a bad time finding the correct firmware.
Thanks!

Right now this is your only option: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/development/rom-twrp-flashable-stock-builds-t3675616
For the moment, this is your only option. Do not take OTAs after flashing. you'll need to wait for that thread to update for future updates until a current full set of images leaks. I'm in the same boat right now. Motorola sucks under Lenovo.

Thanks.
I was able to successfully install this OTA firmware: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/help/rare-firmware-asia-t3753798. Despite OP says it's for Asia, the firmware is actually npns25.137-93-4 for XT1687.

Hello
So there is no way for me to get out of the carrier and telephony software change to the Retail channel?
If I want to install the Nougat I have to wait for the carrier or put a modified ROM? This ROM you are offering works perfectly? Can't install it on my smartphone?

There's no way known to change software channel now. But you can still install nougat if you want.
My software channel is also timbr and I'm using Nougat, what you need to do is update your phone using retbr OTAs.

So I'm wondering if there is some other patch before arriving in Nougat. Thank you very much for your help
I did it again and had success. Thank you very much for your help;
here can I follow releases security updates? As my channel continues the TIMBR, will I still need to always perform the patches manually

What you mean about QB2? I have update QA1 to QB2 if you looking for one.
QC5 it maybe final product. I don't see any other updates from QB2 to XXX. Firs i see is QB2 to QC2 ( first nougat ) then QB2 to QC4 and last one QB2 to QC5 with i post is. All this are updates to firmware and there is no other security patch as of now on servers. On other hand for other devices like Note 4(N910A) i got just security patch for next month, on S6, (G920A), S6EDGE(G925A) and S6Edge+(G928A) there are security patches too. So i feel good about that QC5 for N2920A maybe final release.

If Odin changes your CSC code during the flash operation the handset does a wipe. Always
I didn't remember about the CSC. Why would the CSC need to change if the ROM is made for the same AT&T carrier region?

[Download] G5 Plus March Security Update for Retail Channels

Hey everyone,
You can download the March security update for G5 Plus (Retail channel only) from here
Side-load it through ADB.
(Note: This has been tested on Indian retail variant. It may/may not work on other retail variants - proceed at your own risk)
New build number is NPNS25.137-92-8
My RETIN device hasn't received the OTA yet. Is it rolling out now?

You may edit the title to something like "G5 Plus March Security Updates for Indian Retail Devices" as some users still don't know that it's a different firmware than for reteu/retus devices (those are ending on 93) and flashing this one could cause problems or at least take the opportunity to receive future OTA's.
Just a hint, no insinuation in any way, it's great that people like you share their firmware.

I don't see any problem with that, since it's a retail variant and there's no radio (carrier) dependency. Since all Moto G5 Plus retail variants are identical (except for no. of SIMs), there shouldn't any issue generally.
Can we just install it through TWRP ?
Bcoz i had hard bricked my moto g5 plus and use albus blank flash and i got like Moto z play bootloader and finally now its running by losing voLTE and Google pixel experience with 3g ...
So i am just wondering if i can flash it through twrp and then i get moto g5 plus boot loader back then i again flash a latest version firmware...
Please help me
thanks in advance <3

If you take a look here: https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/potter/official/RETAIL/
you'll see retail variants ending on 92 (+something) and on 83/93(+something). Both are retail firmwares and I think you can flash a 92 on a european or us device but as you change into the retin channel you won't receive regular OTA anymore. Motorola/Lenovo makes it hard to differ between the firmwares and I will try to find a stable source for that. I'm from Germany and I'm rooted so I don't take OTA's at the moment but friends of mine have received the march security patch and they are on a build called NPNS25.137-93-4.

No, after using albus blank flash you can't flash regular firmware anymore. You have to use a TWRP flashable version or any custom ROM.

Yes, you´re right, I mixed it up. 93-4 was for january I believe? But it´s 93-x for RETUS/RETEU, not 92-x., that´s what I wanted to point out.

I think i read somewhere in other threads that we can do it once oreo roles out .... so that we can pull away the new boot loader and push it to the hard bricked phones then we can normally get back the Moto g5 plus with official Oreo with OEM locking...
is this true ?

Possible. Like with the missing volte/4g or IMEI 0 problem some people hope that Oreo can fix it.
We will only be sure when/if Oreo is available.

I can't tell you. I'm not sure if Lenovo comes out with Oreo at all, it's been a long time of waiting now.
I think you are able to try it at once when you can grab a firmware with bl but maybe you'll have to wait until TWRP flashable builds are available or the kernel sources are released and some clever Dev can pick the needed files.
You can just wait and hope.

Updated: Get your milk ready for official Oreo release (later)

4/23/2018 Update:
Seems Big Red made a big snafu in their announcement on their update page about the latest OTA being an Oreo update. Whoops!
http://www.androidguys.com/2018/04/2...alaxy-s7-oreo/
Also, they have fixed their software update page and removed all references to Oreo from the latest OTA:
https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/samsung-galaxy-s7-update/
It looks like we'll be seeing it before the end of May possibly:
https://androidcommunity.com/samsun...0-oreo-update-coming-in-a-few-weeks-20180424/
=========================================
Per Android Community, the finishing touches are being done on Oreo for the S7 family which includes those of us on Verizon's version of the phone as well as unlocked phones.
No firm date has been set yet, but it could be any day now.
https://androidcommunity.com/samsung-galaxy-s7-s7-edge-to-receive-android-8-0-oreo-update-20180418/
Per SamMobile, the US variants have been certified with Oreo.
https://www.sammobile.com/news/galaxy-s7-oreo-update-inches-closer
For many, this may not be a big deal, especially if you root and flash. But for those of us that have no need to root and flash custom ROMs, this is big news. But sadly, it probably also marks the last official upgrade for the S7s. We'll probably get one more year of security updates and then we're on our own at that point.

Yes, there has been some misunderstanding at Verizon. The changelog for the BRC3 says Oreo and lists all the features but it's actually still Nougat OS. Can you share the screenshot from your device of the software info screen showing the Android OS and build no. both?

did they push the wrong update? or publish the wrong change log?
i think it was a fix for the update we had earlier this month , it was sucking my battery.

I definitely had an update applied in last two days at least that is BRC3 so looks like wrong changelog. Verizon support is clueless but is forwarding it to their IT team supposedly..
Edit: Also they mention April 1st security patch in Oreo/BRC3 changelog, I do have that as well but I think those can be pushed without OS update. None of the Oreo features are anywhere to be found though and still 7.0 according to about this phone.
or maybe its a multi-stage update.
an update to prepare for the update.

If you're not on Verizon's network, you own't receive the update. You'll have to wait for someone to upload the Verizon image and then ODIN it.

By being on Verizon's network..does a Straight Talk on Verizon's network count?

Downgrade Security version

Guys, currently I'm on October 1st, 2018 Security Patch. I have the system image of April 1st, 2018 for flashing through fastboot, both android 8.0.0.
If I flash it, will my phone get stuck in bootloop or will it work?
My last phone got hardbricked because I unintentionally flashed android 6 Marshmallow after updating to Nougat, so now I'm afraid of hardbricking my new smartphone just because of the security patch.
Please someone give me an advise. (If there would be a link for a system image of october 2018 I'd appreciate haha)
My device was on Oct security before I unlocked it, I am now on the stock April patch firmware with no issues. However, I wish to relock my bootloader now and this is not possible because there is no later firmware than April available. When trying to lock, it fails with security downgrade.

Thanks for your feedback, however there IS a later firmware, more precisely the October firmware.
Thanks to @Junior Passos for this: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410932744536987421

Should be fine, I am on OPSS27.76-12-25 which is April. The October patch was on my device before unlocked.
Although there is an extra S in this one. Mine is OPS27.
Could you show where the junior shared the link?.

Sorry, he didn't share on the forum yet, however it's in his afh. He took from the last link I shared here.
If you pay attention to the image below, which is my smartphone settings, the version has 2 "S", and it's the stock one. I've never unlocked this phone. So it's okay, the october patch has the second S.

I see, so the other S could be something with the new security patch. Unless we have different Z2p. Mine is UK one, but I am sure I read somewhere that there is only one line of firmware for this device, unlike my G5 plus before this that had several versions of the G5 plus.
Yours is Brazil retail mine is Vodafone UK which is a different software Chanel. But the device is same I am sure.
